The potential energy surface for the decomposition of HXSiS (X = H, F, and Cl) on the singlet state has been explored by B3LYP and CCSD(T) calculations. Five different types of reaction are proposed: (A) 1,1‐HX elimination, (B) 1,2‐H shift, (C) 1,2‐X shift, (D) H · and XSiS · radical formation, and (E) X · and HSiS · radical formation. These results show interesting trends for the HXSiS isomers. Our theoretical investigations suggest that the doubly bonded species HXSiS should be the lowest energy structure among the isomers from both kinetic and thermodynamic viewpoints. We also report theoretical predictions of molecular parameters and vibrational infrared (IR) spectra of the monohalogen‐substituted silanethione, which should be useful for future experimental observations. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Using Gaussian 03 Revision C.02 version of the quantum chemical program ab initio and DFT computations have been carried out at the rhf/6-31+g*, b3lyp/6-31+g*, b3lyp/6-31++g** and b3lyp/6-311++g** levels to compute optimized geometries, harmonic vibrational frequencies along with intensities in IR and Raman spectra and atomic charges for the acetic (ethanoic) acid and its 1,1,1-tri-halo (fluoro, chloro and bromo) derivatives. The optimized molecular structures for all the four molecules are found to possess Cs point group symmetry. The symmetric stretching mode is found to have lowest magnitude of the three CX3 stretching modes for all the four molecules, whereas the symmetric deformation mode is found to have the lowest magnitude for EA and TFEA and the highest magnitude for TCEA and TBEA. The parallel rocking mode of the CX3 group is found to have lower magnitude than the perpendicular rocking mode for EA and TFEA where reverse is found for TCEA and TBEA. The modes of the COOH group are substituent sensitive except the OH stretching mode. Moreover, the maximum effect is found for the TFEA molecule. The CF3 group is found to have the characteristic frequencies as 235-505, 787, 1150-1190 and 1400 cm(-1) which are due to the modes delta s(CF3), nu s(CF3), nu as(CF3) and nu(C-CF3), respectively.  相似文献

Halogen-hydride interactions between Z-X (Z = CN, NC and X = F, Cl, Br) as halogen donor and H-Mg-Y (Y = H, F, Cl, Br, CH(3)) as electron donor have been investigated through the use of Becke three-parameter hybrid exchange with Lee-Yang-Parr correlation (B3LYP), second-order M?ller-Plesset perturbation theory (MP2), and coupled-cluster single and double excitation (with triple excitations) [CCSD(T)] approaches. Geometry changes during the halogen-hydride interaction are accompanied by a mutual polarization of both partners with some charge transfer occurring from the electron donor subunit. Interaction energies computed at MP2 level vary from -1.23 to -2.99 kJ/mol for Z-F···H-Mg-Y complexes, indicating that the fluorine interactions are relatively very weak but not negligible. Instead, for chlorine- and bromine-containing complexes the interaction energies span from -5.78 to a maximum of -26.42 kJ/mol, which intimate that the interactions are comparable to conventional hydrogen bonding. Moreover, the calculated interaction energy was found to increase in magnitude with increasing positive electrostatic potential on the extension of Z-X bond. Analysis of geometric, vibrational frequency shift and the interaction energies indicates that, depending on the halogen, CN-X···H interactions are about 1.3-2.0 times stronger than NC-X···H interactions in which the halogen bonds to carbon. We also identified a clear dependence of the halogen-hydride bond strength on the electron-donating or -withdrawing effect of the substituent in the H-Mg-Y subunits. Furthermore, the electronic and structural properties of the resulting complexes have been unveiled by means of the atoms in molecules (AIM) and natural bond orbital (NBO) analyses. Finally, several correlative relationships between interaction energies and various properties such as binding distance, frequency shift, molecular electrostatic potential, and intermolecular density at bond critical point have been checked for all studied systems.  相似文献

用INDO方法研究C70H2四种异构体的稳定性, 表明其最稳定异构体为1, 9-C70H2和7, 8-C70H2, 两者能量差为16.3KJ.mol^-^1, 与实验值及ab initio计算值接近; 光谱计算表明, 其特征吸收峰与实验值一致。在此基础上预测C70F2和C70Cl2的稳定性和电子光谱, 表明C70F2四种异构体的稳定性顺序与C70H2一致, 而C70Cl2则以21, 42-异构体最为稳定。二者的电子光谱与C70H2极其相似只是在500nm以上有细微差别。  相似文献

Technetium dimers Tc2(O2CCH3)4X2 (X =?Cl, Br) were synthesized and studied by X-ray Absorption Fine Structure spectroscopy (XAFS). EXAFS analysis gave for Tc2(O2CCH3)4Cl2: d Tc-Tc =?2.18(1) Å, d Tc–Cl =?2.43(1) Å and for Tc2(O2CCH3)4Br2: d Tc–Tc =?2.19(1) Å, d Tc-Br =?2.63(1) Å. The Tc Tc separations are in agreement with Raman studies while the Tc–X distances are somewhat larger. Comparison with other Tc(III) quadruply bonded dimers indicates that the carboxylate compounds exhibit larger Tc–Tc separations. The effect of the terminal ligand (nature and position) on the Tc–Tc separation is discussed.  相似文献

The molecular interactions between sulfur ylide (SY) and HSX molecules (X = F, Cl and Br) were investigated using the MP2 method with the 6-311++G (2d, 2p) basis set. The SY (CH2=SH2) have two reactive sites: CH2 (denoted as C-interaction) and SH2 (S-interaction) that both could interact with three atoms of HSX molecules. The results show that S···C, X···C, and H···C interactions (C-interactions) is preference over the X···S, H···S, and H···X interactions. Quantum theories of atoms in molecules and natural bond orbitals methods have been applied to analyze the intermolecular interactions. Good correlations have been found between the interaction energies, the second-order perturbation energies E(2), and the charge transfer qCT in the studied systems.  相似文献

High level ab initio electronic structure calculations at the CCSD(T) level with augmented correlation-consistent basis set extrapolated to complete basis set limit have been performed on XBS and XBS+ for X=H, F, and Cl. The geometries have been optimized up through the aug-cc-pV5Z level and the vibrational frequencies have been calculated with the aug-cc-pVQZ basis sets. Analysis of the bonding in XBS and XBS+ using natural bond orbital analysis shows that the BS bond in XBS is a triple bond, while in XBS+ it is a double bond. The energetic properties of XBS cation and its first excited state are reported. The calculated adiabatic ionization potential is 11.11+/-0.01 eV as compared to the experimental value of 11.11+/-0.03 eV for HBS. The adiabatic ionization potentials for FBS and CIBS are 10.89+/-0.01 and 10.57+/-0.01 eV, respectively.  相似文献

Structures of protonated alane-Lewis base donor-acceptor complexes H2X2AlNHn(CH3)(3-n)+ (X = F, Cl, and Br; n = 0-3) as well as their neutral parents were investigated. All the monocations H2X2AlNHn(CH3)(3-n)+ are Al-H protonated involving hypercoordinated alane with a three-center two-electron bond and adopt the C(s) symmetry arrangement. The energetic results show that the protonated alane-Lewis complexes are more stable than the neutral ones. They also show that this stability decreases on descending in the corresponding periodic table column from fluorine to bromine atoms. The calculated protonation energies of HX2AlNHn(CH3)(3-n) to form H2X2AlNHn(CH3)(3-n)+ were found to be highly exothermic. The possible dissociation of the cations H2X2AlNHn(CH3)(3-n)+ into X2AlNHn(CH3)(3-n)+ and molecular H2 is calculated to be endothermic.  相似文献

The structural stability of (halocarbonyl)sulfenyl halides XCO-SX (X is F, Cl, and Br) was investigated by DFT-B3LYP and ab initio MP2 calculations using 6-311 + G(**) basis set. From the calculations the molecules were found to exist predominantly in the trans conformation (two halogen atoms are trans to each other). Full energy optimizations were carried out for the minima and the transition states (TS) at the two levels, from which the rotational barriers about C-S bond in the three molecules were calculated to be about 12-13 kcal mol(-1). The vibrational frequencies of (fluorocarbonyl)sulfenyl fluoride (FCO-SF), (chlorocarbonyl)-sulfenyl chloride (ClCO-SCl), and (bromocarbonyl)-sulfenyl bromide (BrCO-SBr) were computed at the DFT-B3LYP level and the vibrational assignments for the normal modes of the stable forms of the compounds were made on the basis of normal coordinate calculations and experimental data of the chloride.  相似文献

Gas-phase alkaline earth halide anions, MgX3(-) and CaX3(-) (X = Cl, Br), were produced using electrospray and investigated using photoelectron spectroscopy at 157 nm. Extremely high electron binding energies were observed for all species and their first vertical detachment energies were measured as 6.60 +/- 0.04 eV for MgCl3(-), 6.00 +/- 0.04 eV for MgBr3(-), 6.62 +/- 0.04 eV for CaCl3(-), and 6.10 +/- 0.04 eV for CaBr3(-). The high electron binding energies indicate these are very stable anions and they belong to a class of anions, called superhalogens. Theoretical calculations at several levels of theory were carried out on these species, as well as the analogous BeX3(-). Vertical detachment energy spectra were predicted to compare with the experimental observations, and good agreement was obtained for all species. The first adiabatic detachment energies were found to be substantially lower (by about 1 eV) than the corresponding vertical detachment energies for all the MX3(-) species, indicating extremely large geometry changes between MX3(-) and MX3. We found that all the MX3(-) anions possess D3h ((1)A1') structures and are extremely stable against dissociation into MX2 and X-. The corresponding neutral species MX3, however, were found to be only weakly bound with respect to dissociation toward MX2 + X. The global minimum structures of all the MX3 neutrals were found to be C2v ((2)B2), which can be described as (X2(-))(MX+) charge-transfer complexes, whereas the MX2...X (C2v, (2)B1) van der Waals complexes were shown to be low-lying isomers.  相似文献

Structural and molecular properties have been calculated at high level of theory: the CCSD(T) method in conjunction with a hierarchical series of correlation consistent basis sets has been employed. Raman and infrared spectra of four substituted 3,5-diamino-6-(ortho-substituted phenyl)-1,2,4-triazines, having ortho-fluoro, -chloro, -bromo and -methyl groups on the phenyl ring, are reported and discussed. Bands due to substituent sensitive phenyl vibrations are observed in both the Raman and infrared spectra. The Raman spectra of all four compounds have strong bands near 770 and 1330 cm(-1) which are assigned to the ring breathing vibration of the 1,2,4-triazine ring and an asymmetric triazine C-NH2 stretching vibration, respectively. A medium/strong band near 800 cm(-1) in the infrared spectra is attributed to an out-of-plane bending vibration of the substituted 1,2,4-triazine ring.  相似文献

Gas-phase infrared spectra of polyphosphazenes (phosphonitrilic halides trimer), (NPX2)3 where X=F, Cl and Br have been recorded. The molecules were generated for the first time by an on-line process using solid (NPCl2)3 as a precursor passed over heated sodium fluoride and potassium bromide at about 550 and 700 degrees C for (NPF2)3 and (NPBr2)3 production, respectively. The products were characterized by the infrared spectra of their vapors. The low-resolution gas-phase Fourier transform infrared spectra reported for the first time show strong bands centered at 1295, 1215 and 1200 cm-1, assigned to nu7(E'), in plane PN stretching mode of (NPX2)3, where X=F, Cl and Br, respectively.  相似文献

The reduction potentials (E°(Red) versus SHE) of hypercloso boron hydrides B(n)H(n) (n = 6-13) and B(12)X(12) (X = F, Cl, OH, and CH(3)) in water have been computed using the Conductor-like Polarizable Continuum Model (CPCM) and the Solvation Model Density (SMD) method for solvation modeling. The B3LYP/aug-cc-pvtz and M06-2X/aug-cc-pvtz as well as G4 level of theory were applied to determine the free energies of the first and second electron attachment (ΔG(E.A.)) to boron clusters. The solvation free energies (ΔG(solv)) greatly depend on the choice of the cavity set (UAKS, Pauling, or SMD) while the dependence on the choice of exchange/correlation functional is modest. The SMD cavity set gives the largest ΔΔG(solv) for B(n)H(n)(0/-) and B(n)H(n)(-/2-) while the UAKS cavity set gives the smallest ΔΔG(solv) value. The E°(Red) of B(n)H(n)(-/2-) (n = 6-12) with the G4/M06-2X(Pauling) (energy/solvation(cavity)) combination agrees within 0.2 V of experimental values. The experimental oxidative stability (E(1/2)) of B(n)X(n)(2-) (X = F, Cl, OH, and CH(3)) is usually located between the values predicted using the B3LYP and M06-2X functionals. The disproportionation free energies (ΔG(dpro)) of 2B(n)H(n)(-) → B(n)H(n) + B(n)H(n)(2-) reveal that the stabilities of B(n)H(n)(-) (n = 6-13) to disproportionation decrease in the order B(8)H(8)(-) > B(9)H(9)(-) > B(11)H(11)(-) > B(10)H(10)(-). The spin densities in B(12)X(12)(-) (X = F, Cl, OH, and CH(3)) tend to delocalize on the boron atoms rather than on the exterior functional groups. The partitioning of ΔG(solv)(B(n)H(n)(2-)) over spheres allows a rationalization of the nonlinear correlation between ΔG(E.A.) and E°(Red) for B(6)H(6)(-/2-), B(11)H(11)(-/2-), and B(13)H(13)(-/2-).  相似文献

The molecular orbitals for B4H4, B4F4, B4Cl4, B4Br4 and B4I4 have been calculated by using all-electron or effective core potential ab initio method at the self-consistent field level using basis sets with diffuse and polarization functions. The boron-boron and boron-halide (-hydrogen) distances of these cage compounds are optimized with three kinds of basis sets constrained to a tetrahedral symmetry. According to the localization scheme of Boys, four three-centered two-electron (3c2e) B-B-B bonds localized on each of the faces of the B4 tetrahedron are derived for B4X4 clusters. The HOMO-LUMO energy gaps, atomization energies and Mulliken overlap populations of these compounds indicate that the stabilities of the clusters decrease in the sequence of B4F4 > B4Cl4, B4H4 > B4Br4 > B4I4.  相似文献
