Two novel potentiometric azide membrane sensors based on the use of manganese(III)porphyrin [Mn(III)P] and cobalt(II)phthalocyanine [Co(II)Pc] ionophores dispersed in plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) PVC matrix membranes are described. Under batch mode of operation, [Mn(III)P] and [Co(II)Pc] based membrane sensors display near‐ and sub‐Nernstian responses of ?56.3 and ?48.5 mV decade?1 over the concentration ranges 1.0×10?2?2.2×10?5 and 1.0×10?2?5.1×10?5 mol L?1 azide and detection limits of 1.5×10?5 and 2.5×10?5 mol L?1, respectively. Incorporation of both membrane sensors in flow‐through tubular cell offers sensitive detectors for flow injection (FIA) determination of azide. The intrinsic characteristics of the [Mn(III)P] and [Co(II)Pc] based detectors in a low dispersion manifold show calibration slopes of ?51.2 and ?33.5 mV decade?1 for the concentration ranges of 1.0×10?5?1.0×10?2 and 1.0×10?4?1.0×10?2 mol L?1 azide and the detection limits are1.0×10?5 and 3.1×10?5 mol L?1, respectively. The detectors are used for determining azide at an input rate of 40–60 samples per hour. The responses of the sensors are stable within ±0.9 mV for at least 8 weeks and are pH independent in the range of 3.9?6.5. No interferences are caused by most common anions normally associated with azide ion.  相似文献

Studies on complex formation of tris(3‐(2‐hydroxybenzophenone)propyl)amine (THPA) with a number of metal ions in acetonitrile solution revealed the occurrence of a selective 1 : 1 complexation of the proposed ligand with Sn2+ ion. Consequently, THPA was used as a suitable neutral ionophore for the preparation of a polymeric membrane‐selective electrode. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian behavior with a slope of 29.4±0.3 mV per decade and a detection limit of 2.0×10?7 M. It also showed a good selectivity for Sn2+ ions in comparison with some of group A and B metal ions over a wide concentration range of 5.0×10?7–1.0×10?1 M. Improved selectivity was achieved compared to the best selectivity recently reported by other authors for tin(II). The electrode was successfully applied to the determination of Sn2+ ion in waste water and various canned products.  相似文献

A PVC membrane electrode for copper(II) ion based on a recently synthesized Schiff base as a suitable ion carrier was constructed. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian slope of 28.3 ± 0.6 mV per decade of Cu2+ over a wide concentration range of 7.0 × 10?6‐2.6 × 10?2 M with a detection limit of 5.0 × 10?6M in the pH range of 4.2–5.8. The response time is about 10s and it can be used for at least 1 month without any considerable divergence in potential. It was successfully applied as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of copper ions.  相似文献

Preliminary theoretical studies revealed the selective complexation of bis (2‐mercaptoanil) diacetyl (BMDA) with La3+ over several alkali, alkaline earth and heavy metal ions. Thus, novel PVC‐based membrane (PBM) and coated graphite membrane (CGM) sensors for La(III) based on BMDA were prepared. The electrodes display Nernstian behavior over wide concentration ranges (i.e., 1.0×10?5–1.0×10?1 M for PBM and 1.0×10?6–1.0×10?1 M for CGM). The potential response of sensors was pH independent in the range of 4.0–8.0. The sensors possess satisfactory reproducibility, fast response time (<15 s), and specially excellent discriminating ability for La3+ ions with respect to most of the cations. The membrane sensor was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of lanthanum ions with EDTA. The coated graphite membrane electrode was applied in determination of fluoride ions in mouth wash preparations.  相似文献

Three nickel(II)‐hexaazacyclotetradecane complexes were studied to characterize their abilities as perchlorate ion carrier in PVC membrane electrodes. The electrodes based on these complexes exhibit Nernstian responses for ClO over very wide concentration ranges (1.0×10?1 ?5.0×10?7 M) with detection limits of 2.0×10?7 ?5.0×10?7 M (20–50 ng/mL). The sensors show very good selectivity for ClO ion in comparison with the most common organic and inorganic anions. The responses of the proposed electrodes are independent of pH in the range of 3.5–11.0. The perchlorate selective membranes show fast response time (<10 s) and can be used for 4–12 weeks without any major deviation. The sensors were successfully used to determine the perchlorate ion in water, wastewater and human urine samples.  相似文献

A new poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) membrane ion‐selective electrode based on bis‐salicyladehyde‐diaminjodipropylamine (BSDDA) as an ion carrier was successfully applied to the detection of Hg2+ ions. This electrode displayed good selectivity toward Hg2+ in comparison with other metal ions and exhibited a Nernstian slope of 30.5 ± 0.4 mV per decade of Hg2+ over a concentration range of 9.5 × 10?7 to 6.4 × 10?2 M of Hg2+ in the pH range 1.5 to 3.5. The detection limit was 7.0 ± 0.2 × 10?7 M and response time was about 10 s to 25 s. The electrode can be used at least 2 months without apparent divergence in potential. In addition, the effects of experimental parameters such as membrane composition, nature and amounts of plasticizer and additive were investigated. The proposed electrode could be used as an indicator electrode in the detection of Hg2+ in samples.  相似文献

New polymeric membrane cadmium‐ion selective sensors have been prepared by incorporating nitrogen and sulfur containing tridentate ligands as the ionophores into the plasticized PVC membranes. Poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) based membranes of potassium hydrotris[N‐(2,6‐xylyl)thioimdazolyl) borate] (KTt2,6‐xylyl) and potassium hydrotris(3‐phenyl‐5‐methylpyrazolyl) borate (KTpPh,Me) with sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB) as an anionic excluder and dibutylphthalate (DBP), tributylphthalate (TBP), dioctylsebacate (DOS), and o‐nitrophenyloctyl ether (o‐NPOE) as plasticizing solvent mediators were investigated in different compositions. KTt2,6‐xylyl was found to be a selective and sensitive ion carrier for Cd(II) membrane sensor. A membrane composed of KTt2,6‐xylyl:NaTPB:PVC:DBP with the % mole ratio 2.3 : 1.1 : 34.8 : 61.8 (w/w) works well over a very wide concentration range (7.8×10?8–1.0×10?2 M) with a Nernstian slope of 29.4±0.2 mV/decades of activity between pH values of 3.5 to 9.0 with a detection limit of 4.37×10?8 M. The sensor displays very good discrimination toward Cd(II) ions with regard to most common cations. The proposed sensor shows a short response time for whole concentration range (ca. 8 s). The effects of the cationic (tetrabutylammonium chloride, TBC), anionic (sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS) and nonionic (Triton X‐100) surfactants were investigated on the potentiometric properties of proposed cadmium‐selective sensor. The proposed sensor based on KTt2,6‐xylyl ionophore has also been used for the direct determination of cadmium ions in different water samples and human urine samples.  相似文献

A PVC membrane electrode using [Bzo2Me2Ph2(16)hexaeneN4] ( I ) as ionophore, oleic acid as lipophilic additive and o‐nitrophenyloctyl ether as plasticizer has been investigated as Zn(II)‐selective electrode. The membrane incorporating 34.9% (w/w) PVC, 2.3% I , 4.7% OA and 58.1% o‐NPOE gave linear response over the concentration range 2.82×10?6?1.0×10?1 M with a Nernstian slope of 28.5±0.2 mV/decade of concentration with a detection limit of 2.24×10?6 M (0.146 ppm) and showed a response time of less than 10 s and could be used in pH range 2.5–8.5. High selectivity was obtained over a wide variety of metal ions. The proposed electrode was successfully used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of zinc ions with EDTA and for determination of zinc in real samples.  相似文献

A novel PVC-based membrane sensor based on the Co(II)-salophen complex (CSC) is described. The electrode revealed a Nernstian response over a wide nitrite ion concentration range (1.0×10–6–1.0×10–1M). The detection limit of the sensor is 8.0×10–7M. The best performance was obtained with a membrane composition of 33% PVC, 61% ortho-nitrophenyloctyl ether, 3% cobalt(II)-salophen, and 3% hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide. The potentiometric response of the sensor is independent of the pH of solution in the pH range 4.5–11.9. The electrode exhibits a very fast response time and good selectivity over a variety of common inorganic and organic anions, including fluoride, bromide, iodide, sulfite, nitrate, thiocyanate, thriiodide and perchlorate. The selectivity behavior of the proposed sensor shows substantial improvements compared to the previously reported electrodes for nitrite ion. The membrane sensor can be used for at least 2 months without any divergence in potential. The electrode was successfully applied to the monitoring of nitrite ion in water, sausage, flour, wheat, cheese and milk.  相似文献

A novel chloride PVC‐based membrane sensor based on a ruthenium(III) Schiff's base complex, as an excellent neutral carrier, has been developed. The ruthenium complex, in combination with a ketonic plasticizer and a cationic additive led to ISEs with fundamental characteristics, such as slope sensitivity, short response times and selectivity coefficients, which were sufficient for practical applications. The sensor with composition of 30% PVC, 62% benzyl acetate, 5% ruthenium(III) Schiff's base complex and 3% hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide displays near‐Nernstian behavior in a wide concentration range (1.0×10?1–3.0×10?6 M with slope of ?54.5±0.5) with a detection limit of 2.0×10?6 M (71.0 ng per mL). The response of the electrode is independent on pH in the range of 4.0–10.0 and can it be used for at least ten weeks. The proposed electrode shows a very short response time (<20 s) in whole concentration range. The sensor displays high selectivity toward chloride ions over several organic and inorganic anions. It was successfully applied for the determination of chloride in serum samples. It was also used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of chloride ions with silver nitrate solution.  相似文献

The construction, performance, and applications of a novel ytterbium(III) sensor based on N‐(2‐pyridyl)‐N′‐(2‐methoxyphenyl)‐thiourea (PMT), as an excellent carrier, in plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) PVC matrix, is described. The influences of membrane composition and pH on the potentiometric response of the sensor were investigated. The sensor exhibits a nice Nernstian response for Yb(III) ion over a wide concentration range of 4 decades of concentration (1.0×10?6–1.0×10?2 M), and a detection limit of 5.0×10?7 M. The response time of the electrodes is between 8 and 10 s, depending on the concentration of ytterbium(III) ions. The proposed sensor can be used for about 8 weeks without any considerable divergence in potential. The sensor revealed very good selectivity for Yb(III) in the presence of several metal ions. The best performance was observed for the membrane containing; 30% PVC, 59% o‐nitrophenyloctyl ether (NPOE) as solvent mediator, 7% PMT, and 4% sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB). It was successfully applied as indicator electrodes in the potentiometric titration of Yb(III) with EDTA and for the determination of fluoride ion in two mouth wash formulations. The proposed La(III) sensor was found to work well under laboratory conditions. It was also used as an indicator electrode in titration of a 1.0×10?4 M of Yb(III) with a standard EDTA solution (1.0×10?2 M). It was also used for determination of Yb(III) ion in Xenotime .  相似文献

A highly sensitive polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membrane electrode, based on copper(II)-bis(N-4-methylphenyl-salicyldenaminato) complex, (CuL2), as a carrier was reported for the determination of chromate ion. The influence of membrane composition, pH, and possible interfering anions on the response of the ion selective electrode was investigated. The sensor exhibited a Nernstian slope of 29.7 mV per decade when the chromate concentration was varied between 2.0 × 10?7–1.50 × 10?2 M in a wide pH range (6.0 to 9.0). The detection limit of the ion selective electrode was 9.2 × 10?8 M. The proposed sensor was used for at least 4 months without any considerable divergence in potential. It was applied as indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of chromate ion with Pb2+ and Tl+.  相似文献

A new one‐shot optical cyanide ion sensor is proposed for determination of cyanide ions. The sensor was constructed by immobilizing crystal violet (CV) on triacetylcellulose membrane. The sensing mechanism involves reaction between cyanide ions and the immobilized CV at pH = 5.4, which results in a decrease in absorbance of the membrane at 600 nm. The sensor shows sufficient repeatability, reproducibility, operational lifetime of 3 weeks, and a response of less then 10 min under the optimum conditions and response time of 8 min. Cyanide can be determined in the concentration range of 50.0‐800 μg mL‐1 with a detection limit of 5.0 μg mL‐1. Most ions do not interfere with the determination of cyanide ions. The proposed sensor was successfully applied to the determination of cyanide in spiked water samples.  相似文献

Cobalt (II) phthalocyanine tetracarboxylate [Co (II)Pc-COOH] has been prepared and used in aqueous solutions as a novel chromogenic reagent for the spectrophotometric determination of cyanide ion. The method is based on measuring the increase in the intensity of the monomer peak in the reagent absorbance at 682 nm due to the formation of a 1 : 2 [Co (II)Pc-COOH] : [CN] complex. The complex exhibits a molar absorptivity (ε) of 7.7 × 104 L mol?1 cm?1 and a formation constant (Kf ) of 5.4 ± 0.01 × 106 at 25 ± 0.1°C. Beer's law is obeyed over the concentration range 0.15–15 µg mL?1 (5.8 × 10?6–5.8 × 10?4 M) of cyanide ion, the detection limit is 20 ng mL?1 (7.7 × 10?7 M) the relative standard deviation is ±0.7% (n = 6) and the method accuracy is 98.6 ± 0.9%. Interference by most common ions is negligible, except that by sulphite. The proposed method is used for determining cyanide concentration in gold, silver and chromium electroplating wastewater bath solutions after a prior distillation with 1 : 1 H2SO4 and collection of the volatile cyanide in 1 M NaOH solution containing lead carbonate as recommended by ASTM, USEPA, ISO and APAHE separation procedures. The results agree fairly well with potentiometric data obtained using the solid state cyanide ion selective electrode.  相似文献

Novel electrochemical sensors based on carbon paste impregnated with metallopthalocyanine (MPc, M=Co, Fe) complexes, have been constructed for the assay of anti‐HIV drug 2′,3′‐dideoxyinosine (didanosine, DDI). Both modified electrodes showed electrocatalytic activity towards the oxidation of dideoxyinosine in phosphate buffer pH 7.4 with a working concentration range of 10?6–10?4 mol/L and a detection limit of 10?7 mol/L magnitude order. The sensor proved to be highly reliable for the assay of the purity of DDI ‐ raw material as well as for the uniformity content test of Videx tablets.  相似文献

A new electrode based on a complex of chromate ions with bis(acetylacetonato) cadmium(II) as a carrier was developed for detection of chromate in aqueous solution. The electrode exhibited linear response with Nernstian slopes of –28.8±0.5mVper decade for chromate within the concentration range of 2.5×10–6–0.1M. The limit of detection as determined from the intersection of the extrapolated linear segments of the calibration plots was almost 1.0×10–6M. The electrodes exhibited good selectivities for chromate. The response time of the electrode was <25s over the entire concentration range. The electrode can be used in the pH range 8.0–12.0 for chromate. It was used as an indicator electrode in titration with Pb(NO3)2 and for the determination of chromate ion in wastewater samples.  相似文献

A highly selective potentiometric sensor for thiocyanate ion based on the use of a newly synthesized organo‐palladium ion exchanger complex dispersed in a plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) membrane is described. The sensor displays a Nernstian response (?57.8±0.2 mV decade?1) over a wide linear concentration range of thiocyanate (1.0×10?6–1.0×10?1 mol L?1 ), low detection limit (6.3×10?7 mol L?1), fast response (20 s), stable potential readings (±0.4 mV), good reproducibility (±0.9%), long term stability (8 weeks), high precision (±0.7%) and applicability over a wide pH range (4–10). Negligible interferences are caused by F?, Cl?, I?, Br?, NO3?, NO2?, CN?, SO42?, S2O32?, PO43?, citrate, acetate and oxalate ions. Under hydrodynamic mode of operation (FIA), the calibration slope is ?51.1±0.1 mV decade?1, the linear response range is 1.0×10?5–1.0×10?1 mol L?1 SCN? and the sample throughput is 40–45 per hour. The sensor is satisfactory used for manual and flow injection potentiometric determination of SCN? in the saliva and urine of cigarette smokers and non smokers. The data agree fairly well with results obtained by the standard spectrophotometric technique. Direct potentiometry and potentiometric titration of SCN? with Ag+ are also monitored with the sensor.  相似文献

Poly(vinyl chloride) polymeric membrane sensors containing Sn(IV) phthalocyanine dichloride (SnPC) and Co(II) phthalocyanine (CoPC) as novel electroactive materials dispersed in o‐nitrophenyl octylether (o‐NPOE) as a plasticizer are examined potentiometrically with respect to their response toward selenite (SeO32?) ions. Fast Nernstian response for SeO32? ions over the concentration ranges 7.0×10?6–1.0×10?3 and 8.0×10?6–1.0×10?3 mol L?l at pH 3.5–8.5 with lower detection limit of 5.0×10?6 and 8.0×10?6 mol L?1 and calibration slopes of ?25.4 and ?29.7 mV decade?1 are obtained with SnPC and CoPC based membrane sensors, respectively. The proposed sensors reveals by the modified separate solution method (MSSM) a good selectivity over different anions which differ significantly from the classical Hofmeister series. A segmented sandwich membrane method is used to determine complex formation constants of the ionophores in situe in the solvent polymeric sensing membranes. Membrane incorporating CoPC in a tubular flow detector is used in a two channels flow injection set up for continuous monitoring of selenite at a frequency of ca. 50 samples h?1. Direct determination of selenium in pharmaceutical formulations and anodic slime gives results in good agreement with data obtained using standard ICP method.  相似文献

A ruthenium(II) complex [Ru(PPh3)2(pytsc)2] {Hpytsc = pyridine‐2‐carbaldehydethiosemicarbazone, (C5H5N)C2(H)=N3‐N2(H)‐C1(=S)N1H} has been used as an ion carrier for the selective determination of silver(I) ions in solution. Silver(I) ion‐selective coated graphite based (CGE) and PVC polymeric membrane based (PME) electrodes exhibit Nernstian slope for silver(I) ions over a wide concentration range from 1.0 × 10−1 M to 5.0 × 10−6 M (with CGE) and 1.0 × 10−1 M to 2.0 × 10−5 M (with PME). The working pH range of these electrodes has been found to be from 1.2 to 7.2 for CGE and 2.2 to 6.5 for PME. The proposed CGE sensor exhibits better analytical features like sensitivity and selectivity towards different secondary ions in comparison to the corresponding PME with no interference from mercury(II) ions . These electrodes also act as indicator electrodes in potentiometric titration and have been successfully used for the determination of silver content in solution of real samples (1 gm dissolved in 100 mL of dilute nitric acid) such as silver ornaments and thin silver foils. Silver content determined by the use of ion selective electrode was found to vary in the concentration range from 1.20 x 10−2 M to 7.45 x 10−2 M and results were found to be comparable with those obtained from the traditional volumetric method of analysis. It is the first report of a metal‐ligand complex used as an ion carrier in ion selective electrode, which is selective for a metal ion other than the one used in the complex.  相似文献
