A highly selective PVC‐membrane electrode based on 2,6‐diphenylpyrylium fluoroborate is presented. The electrode reveals a Nernstian potentiometric response for sulfate ion over a wide concentration range (5.0 × 10?6‐1.0 × 10?1 M). The electrode has a response time of about 10 s and can be used for at least 2 months without any divergence. The proposed sensor revealed very good selectivities for sulfate over a wide variety of common organic and inorganic anions and could be used over a wide pH range (2.5–9.5). The detection limit of the sensor is 3.0 × 10?6 M. It was successfully applied to the direct determination of salbutamol, paramomycin tablets, and as an indicator electrode for potentiometric titration of sulfate ions with barium ions.  相似文献

The response time of the sensor is about 10 s and it can be used over a period of 2 months without any divergence in potential. The proposed membrane sensor revealed good selectivity for Ba(II) over a wide variety of other metal ions. It was successfully used in direct determination of barium ions in industrial wastewater samples.  相似文献

A novel bromide PVC‐based membrane sensor, based on iron(III)‐salen (IS) as an electroactive material, is successfully developed. The sensor possesses the advantages of low detection limit (6.0×10?6), wide working concentration range (7.0×10?6–1.0×10?1 M), Nernstian behavior (slope of 59.0±0.5 mV per decade), low response time (<15 s), wide working pH range (3–9), and specially, high bromide selectivity over a wide variety of organic and inorganic anions, specially iodide, chloride, and hydroxide ions. The electrode was used in the direct potentiometric determination of hyoscine butylbromide, and as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of bromide ions with silver ions.  相似文献

A new tin complex namely tetracyclohexyl tin(IV) (TCHT) was synthesized and used as the ion carrier for the construction of a highly selective salicylate sensor. This sensor shows a Nernstian response to salicylate ions over a very wide concentration (1.0 × 10?7–1.0 × 10?1 M) in a pH range of 5.5–10.5. The optimum selectivity and response could be obtained for a membrane incorporating 30% PVC, 61% BA, 3% of cationic additive (HTAB) and 6% of TCHT. The response time of the electrode is very short in the whole concentration range (15 s). The electrode also shows an excellent discriminating ability for salicylate ions with respect to the most common organic and inorganic anions including chloride, sulfate, nitrate, nitrite, cyanide, sulfite, iodide, thiocyanate, phosphate, acetate, oxalate, citrate, and tartarate ions. The detection limit of the proposed sensor is 8.0 × 10?8 M. The electrode was successfully used for determining the concentration of salicylate ion in synthetic serums.  相似文献

We found that bis(thiophenal) pyridine‐2,6‐diamine (BPD) can be used as an excellent ion carrier to prepare a gadolinium‐selective PVC‐based membrane sensor. The use of oleic acid (OA) and potassium tetrakis(p‐chlorophenyl borate)(KTKpClPB), as anionic additives, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP), acetophenone (AP) and nitrobenzene (NB), as plasticizing solvent mediators was investigated. The best performance was observed with a membrane having the composition of 30% PVC; 62% BA; 5% BPD; and 3% KTKpClPB. The resulting sensor works well over a relatively wide concentration range (1.0×10?6–1.0×10?1 M) with a Nernstian slope of 19.4±0.4 mV per decade of gadolinium activity over a wide pH range (3.5–8.0). The limit of detection of the sensor is 7.0×10?7 M (ca. 110 ng mL?1). The proposed electrode shows excellent discriminating ability toward gadolinium ions with regard to common alkali, alkaline earth, transition, heavy metal ions, and specially, lanthanide ions. The proposed sensor was applied as an indicator electrode for titration of gadolinium ions with EDTA.  相似文献

In this work a dysprosium [Dy(III)]‐selective solvent polymeric membrane sensor based on N,N‐bis(pyrrolidene) benzne‐1,2‐diamine, poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC), the plasticizer benzylacetate (BA), and anionic site is described. This sensor responds to Dy(III) activity in a linear range from 1.0×10?5 to 1.0×10?1 M, with a slope of 20.6±0.2 mV per decade and a detection limit of 6.0×10?6 M at the pH range of 3.5–8.0. It has a fast response time of<20 s in the entire concentration range, and can be used for at least 2 months without any considerable divergence in the electrode potentials. The proposed sensor revealed comparatively good selectivity with respect to common alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. It was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of fluoride ions and in determination of concentration of F ions in some mouth washing solutions.  相似文献

Abstract

A novel Pr(III) ion‐selective polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membrane sensor, based on N,N‐bis(α‐methylsalicylidene)diethylenetriamine (BMT) as a new ionophore, has been prepared and studied. The electrode showed good selectivity for Pr(III) ion with respect to most common cations, including alkali, alkaline earth, transition, and heavy metal ions. This electrode has a wide linear dynamic range from 1.0×10?6 to 1.0×10?2 M with a Nernstian slope of 19.8±0.2 mV per decade and a low detection limit of 6.5×10?7 M, in the pH range of 3.0–8.4, while response time was rapid (<15 s). As far as applications of the recommended sensor are concerned, first it was employed as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Pr(III) ions with EDTA. Second, it was effectively applied to the determination of concentration of Pr(III) ions in soil and sediment samples, and validation with CRMs.  相似文献

In this work, a highly selective membrane triiodide sensor based on a new charge‐transfer complex of bis(2,4‐dimethoxybenzaldehyde)butane‐2,3‐dihydrazone with iodine (Iodide Charge Transfer complex: ICT) as membrane carrier is introduced. The influences of five different solvent mediators on sensitivity and selectivity of the proposed sensor were considered. The best performance was obtained with the membrane composition containing 30% poly (vinyl chloride), 63% DBP, 5% ICT and 2% HTAB. The electrode shows a Nernstian behavior over a very wide triiodide ion concentration range (1.0 × 10?7‐1.0 × 10?2 M), and a detection limit value of 8.0 × 10?8 M. The effect of pH on the potentiometric response of the sensor was also studied, and it was found that the response of the electrode is independent of the pH of the solution in the pH range of 4.0–10. The proposed sensor has a very fast response time (< 12 s), and good selectivities relative to a wide variety of common inorganic and organic anions, including iodide, acetate, bromide, chloride, fluoride, nitrite, nitrate, sulfite, sulfate, cyanide and thiocyanate. In fact the selectivity behavior of the proposed triiodide ion‐selective electrode shows great improvements compared to the previously reported electrodes for triiodide ion. The proposed membrane sensor can be used for at least 6 months without any divergence in the potentials. The electrode was successfully applied as an indicator electrode in the titration of triiodide with thiosulfate ion.  相似文献

Preliminary theoretical studies revealed the selective complexation of bis (2‐mercaptoanil) diacetyl (BMDA) with La3+ over several alkali, alkaline earth and heavy metal ions. Thus, novel PVC‐based membrane (PBM) and coated graphite membrane (CGM) sensors for La(III) based on BMDA were prepared. The electrodes display Nernstian behavior over wide concentration ranges (i.e., 1.0×10?5–1.0×10?1 M for PBM and 1.0×10?6–1.0×10?1 M for CGM). The potential response of sensors was pH independent in the range of 4.0–8.0. The sensors possess satisfactory reproducibility, fast response time (<15 s), and specially excellent discriminating ability for La3+ ions with respect to most of the cations. The membrane sensor was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of lanthanum ions with EDTA. The coated graphite membrane electrode was applied in determination of fluoride ions in mouth wash preparations.  相似文献

The construction, performance characteristics, and application of polymeric membrane (PME) and coated graphite (CGE) thiocyanate‐selective electrodes are reported. The electrodes were prepared by incorporating the complex [Cu(L)](NO3)2 (L=4,7‐bis(3‐aminopropyl)‐1‐thia‐4,7‐diazacyclononane) into a plasiticized poly(vinyl chloride) membrane. The influence of membrane composition, pH of test solution, and foreign ions were investigated. The electrodes reveal Nernstian behavior over a wide SCN? ion concentration range (1.0×10?6–1.0×10?1 M for PME and 5.0×10?7–1.0×10?2 M for CGE) and show fast dynamic response times of 15 s and lower. The proposed sensors show high selectivity towards thiocyanate over several common organic and inorganic anions. They were successfully applied to the direct determination of thiocyanate in urine and saliva of smokers and nonsmokers, and as an indicator electrode in titration of Ag+ ions with thiocyanate.  相似文献

The electrode exhibited linear response with a Nernstian slope of (59.5±0.8 mV/decade) within a wide concentration range of 1.0×10?7 to 1.5×10?2 mol L?1 silver ions. The electrode had a fast response time of <10 s and detection limit of 8.6×10?8 mol L?1 with a working pH range from 3.7 to 9.0. The electrode was highly selective for Ag(I) ions over a large number of cations such as alkali, alkaline earth, and heavy metal ions. The proposed sensor has been applied as an indicator electrode for indirect determination of vitamin B1 in tablets by determination of Cl? ions in this compound with a standard solution of Ag(NO3).  相似文献

The best performance was obtained with a membrane composition of 31% PVC, 61% benzyle acetate, 2% sodium tetra phenyl borate and 6% carrier. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian response for Ho(III) ions over a particular concentration range (1.0×10?5?1.0×10?2 M) with a slope of 19.7±0.2 mV decade?1. The limit of the detection is 7.0×10?6 M. The sensor has a response time of <15 s and a useful working pH range of 4.0–9.5. The proposed sensor discriminates relatively well towards Ho(III) ions with regard to common alkali, alkaline earth, and specially lanthanide ions. Abstract

4-(2-Thiazolylazo)resorcinol (TR) was used as a new compound to play the role of an excellent ion carrier in the fabrication of an Er(III) membrane electrode. The electrode shows a very good selectivity toward Er(III) ions over a wide variety of cations, including alkali, alkaline earth, transition, and heavy-metal ions. The proposed sensor exhibits a Nernstian behavior (with slope of 19.6 ± 0.6 mV per decade) over a wide concentration range (1.0 × 10?6 to 1.0 × 10?2 M). The detection limit of the sensor is 6.6 × 10?7 M. It has a very short response time, in the whole concentration range (~10 s), and can be used for at least 12 weeks in the pH range of 2.8–9.3. The proposed sensor was successfully applied as an indicator electrode for the potentiometric titration of a Er(III) solution, with EDTA. It was also successfully applied to the F? ion determination in some mouthwashing solutions.  相似文献

A novel membrane sensor for selective monitoring of iodide, consisting of a triiodide‐ketoconazole ion pair complex dispersed in a PVC matrix, plasticized with a mixture of 2‐nitrophenyl octyl ether and dioctylphtalate with unique selectivity toward iodide ions, is described. The influence of membrane composition, pH of test solution and foreign ions on the electrode performance were investigated. The optimized membrane demonstrates a near‐Nernstian response for iodide ions over a wide linear range from 1.0 × 10?2 to 1.0 × 10?5 M, at 25 ± 1 °C. The electrode could be used over a wide pH range 3–10 and has the advantages of high selectivity, fast response time and good lifetime (over 4 months). It was successfully used as indicator electrode in potentiometric titrations and direct potentiometric assay of iodide ions.  相似文献

Abstract

A highly selective and sensitive triiodide sensor based on a 2‐(((2‐(((E)‐1‐(2‐hydroxy phenyl) methylidine) amino) phenyl) imino) methyl) phenol with iodine (CTC) as membrane carrier was developed. The electrode revealed a Nernstian behavior over a very wide triiodide‐ion concentration range (5.0×10?8–1.0×10?2 M), and relatively low detection limit (3.0×10?8 M). The potentiometric response is independent of the pH of solution in the pH range of 3.0–10.0. The electrodes manifest advantages of low resistance, very fast response (<12 s), and most importantly, good selectivities relative to a wide variety of inorganic and organic anions, including iodide, bromide, chloride, fluoride, sulfite, sulfate, cyanide, thiocyanate, and acetate. In fact, the selectivity behavior of the proposed triiodide ion‐selective electrode shows great improvements compared to the previously reported electrodes for the triiodide ion. The proposed membrane sensor can be used for at least 6 months without any significant divergences in the potential. The electrode was successfully applied as an indicator electrode in the titration of triiodide with thiosulfate ion.  相似文献

A polyvinylchloride membrane sensor based on N,N′‐bis(salecylidene)‐1,2‐phenylenediamine (salophen) as membrane carrier was prepared and investigated as a Al3+‐selective electrode. The sensor exhibits a Nernstian response toward Al(III) over a wide concentration range (8.0×10?7–3.0×10?2 M), with a detection limit of 6.0×10?7 M. The potentiometric response of the sensor is independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 3.2–4.5. The electrode possesses advantages of very fast response and high selectivity for Al3+ in comparison with alkali, alkaline earth and some heavy metal ions. The sensor was used as an indicator electrode, in the potentiometric titration of aluminum ion and in determination of Al3+ contents in drug, water and waste water samples.  相似文献

2,5-Dioxo-4-imidazolidinyl was used as an excellent sensing material in the preparation of a PVC membrane for a Ce(III)-selective sensor. The electrode shows a good selectivity for the Ce(III) ion with respect to most common cations including alkali, alkaline earth, transition, and heavy metal ions. The developed sensor exhibits a wide linear response with a slope of 19.6?±?0.3 mV per decade over the concentration range of 1.0?×?10?6 to 1.0?×?10?1 M, while the illustrated detection limit is 5.7?×?10?7 M of Ce(III) ions. Moreover, it is concluded that the sensor response is pH-independent in the range of 3.1–9.8. The applications of the recommended electrode include the determination of concentration of Ce(III) ions in soil and sediment samples, validation with CRM's, and the Ce(III) ion potentiometric titration with EDTA as an indicator electrode.  相似文献
