The electrochemistry of indium species was investigated at glassy carbon, tungsten and nickel electrodes in a basic 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium chloride/tetrafluoroborate ionic liquid. Amperometric titration experiments suggest that In(III) chloride is complexed as [InCl5]2? in this ionic liquid. The electrochemical reduction of [InCl5]2? to indium metal is preceded by overpotential driven nucleations. The effective anodic dissolution of indium to indium(III) requires, however, the presence of sufficient chloride ions at the electrode surface. The electrodeposition of indium at glassy carbon and tungsten electrodes proceeds via three‐dimensional instantaneous nucleation with diffusion‐controlled growth of the nuclei. At the nickel electrode, the deposition proceeds via three‐dimensional progressive nucleation with diffusion‐controlled growth of the nuclei. Raising the deposition temperature decreases the average radius of the individual nuclei, r. Scanning electron microscopic and x‐ray diffraction data indicated that bulk crystalline indium electrodeposits could be prepared on nickel substrates within a temperature range between 30 and 120 °C.  相似文献

Summary: Cationic ring‐opening polymerization of 3‐ethyl‐3‐hydroxymethyloxetane (EOX) in a neutral ionic liquid (1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, [bmim][BF4]) leading to a multihydroxyl, branched polyether proceeds readily to nearly quantitative conversion. Because of the relatively high polarity of ionic liquids, intermolecular hydrogen bonding leading to the formation of aggregates is reduced considerably. On the other hand, intramolecular hydrogen bonding facilitating intramolecular chain transfer is not significantly affected and the molecular weights of polymers are in the same range as those obtained in bulk polymerization or polymerization in organic solvents.

The role of N‐heterocyclic carbenes in the chemistry of ionic liquids based on imidazolium salts has long been discussed. Here, we present experimental evidence that 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium‐2‐ylidene (EMIm) can coexist with its protonated imidazolium cation (EMImH+) at low temperatures. If the vapor of the ionic liquid [EMImH+][AcO?] is trapped in solid argon or nitrogen at 9 K, only acetic acid (AcOH) and the carbene, but no ionic species, are found by IR spectroscopy. This indicates that during the evaporation of [EMImH+][AcO?] proton transfer occurs to form the neutral species. If the vapor of [EMImH+][AcO?] is trapped at 9 K as film in the absence of a host matrix, a solid consisting of EMImH+, EMIm, AcO?, and AcOH is formed. During warming to room temperature the proton transfer in the solid to form back the IL [EMImH+][AcO?] can be monitored by IR spectroscopy. This clearly demonstrates that evaporation and condensation of the IL [EMImH+][AcO?] results in a double proton transfer, and the carbene EMIm is only metastable even at low temperatures.  相似文献

The title compound, C6H9N2O2+·Cl·C6H8N2O2·H2O, contains one 2‐(3‐methyl‐1H‐imidazol‐3‐ium‐1‐yl)acetate inner salt molecule, one 1‐carboxymethyl‐3‐methyl‐1H‐imidazol‐3‐ium cation, one chloride ion and one water molecule. In the extended structure, chloride anions and water molecules are linked via O—H...Cl hydrogen bonds, forming an infinite one‐dimensional chain. The chloride anions are also linked by two weak C—H...Cl interactions to neighbouring methylene groups and imidazole rings. Two imidazolium moieties form a homoconjugated cation through a strong and asymmetric O—H...O hydrogen bond of 2.472 (2) Å. The IR spectrum shows a continuous D‐type absorption in the region below 1300 cm−1 and is different to that of 1‐carboxymethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium chloride [Xuan, Wang & Xue (2012). Spectrochim. The monomer–dimer self‐association of the dilute 3‐ethyl‐2‐methyl‐3‐pentanol in tetrachloroethylene in the very dilute state was studied by infrared spectroscopy at several temperatures. The solute was deliberately chosen so that higher oligomers were suppressed by the steric hindrance arising from bulky groups on both sides of hydroxyl group. Two linear utility equations were derived to treat, respectively, the integrated absorbance of the monomer band, A m, and of the dimer band, A d, as functions of the initially prepared solute concentration, [B ]0. The respective molar absorptivities were obtained by fitting these equations to the data. Unlike previous methods, the dimerization constant (K ) can be obtained from either A m or A d. Any discrepancy between these two values of K serves as a measure of the quality of the data. The values of K at different temperatures were employed to calculate the standard enthalpy and entropy of dimerization by using a van't Hoff plot. The dimer is predominantly in the cyclic form where both hydroxyl protons are hydrogen‐bonded. This is inferred from the following observations: (1) the spectrum displays only two bands between 3300 and 3750 cm−1; (2) the constancy of as a function of [B ]0 ; and (3) the linearity of both plots [B ]0/A m vs. A m , and [B ]0/A d vs. .  相似文献

A series of substituted N‐(4‐substituted‐benzoyl)‐N‐[3‐(1‐methyl‐1H‐imidazol‐2‐yl)propyl]amines ( 13 ) and N‐arylsulfonyl‐N‐[3‐(1‐methyl‐1H‐imidazol‐2‐yl)propyl]amines ( 14 ) were prepared from the reaction of 3‐(1‐methyl‐1H‐imidazol‐2‐yl)propan‐1‐amine ( 7 ) with substituted benzoyl chloride or substituted‐benzene sulfonyl chloride respectively. The direct electrochemical oxidation of ammonia has been examined in both the organic solvent dimethylformamide (DMF) and the room temperature ionic liquid 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide [EMIM][N(Tf)2]. The corresponding voltammetric responses have been shown to be similar in each solvent with a broad oxidative wave occurring upon the introduction of ammonia to the solution and the appearance of a new reductive wave following the oxidation. The oxidative reaction process has been examined and a suitable reaction pathway has been deduced, corresponding to the formation of ammonium cations after oxidation of the ammonia. A linear response of limiting current against vol% ammonia was observed in both DMF and [EMIM][N(Tf)2], suggesting potential application for analytical methods.  相似文献

The structure of the title compound, C13H18N3+·Br?·H2O, shows that the cation and the bromide anion are linked via the water mol­ecule through weak intermolecular hydrogen bonds. The water was not detected by NMR spectroscopy, but the cell content is in agreement with the elemental analysis. The presence of water plays an important role in further reactions.  相似文献

Novel 7‐phosphanorbornene derivatives, such as 4, 5, 10 , and 11 were synthesized utilizing 1‐phenyl‐2‐methyl‐2,5‐dihydro‐1H‐phosphole oxide ( 1 ) and 1‐cyclohexyl‐3‐methyl‐2,5‐dihydro‐1H‐phosphole oxide ( 7 ) as the starting materials. Products 4 and 10 were prepared by trapping the corresponding phosphole oxide intermediates ( 3 and 9 , respectively) by N‐phenylmaleimide, while 5 and 11 were obtained by the dimerization of 3 and 9 , respectively. The trapping reaction was studied in details; on one hand, bromo‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐phosphole oxides ( 6‐1 and 6‐2 ) were pointed out as the intermediates, on the other hand, the trapping reaction was optimized. Bri‐ dged P‐heterocycles 4, 5, 10 , and 11 were tested in the fragmentation‐related phosphorylation of methanol. Hydrogenation of phosphanorbornenes 4 and 5 led to the corresponding phosphanorbornanes ( 12 and 14 , respectively) and to a reductive type of retro cycloaddition. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The homogeneous conversion of cellulose in the ionic liquid 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium acetate with 2‐furoyl chloride, p‐toluenesulfonyl chloride, and triphenylmethyl chloride yields surprisingly pure cellulose acetate samples in any case. From NMR spectroscopic studies, it may be concluded that during the homogeneous functionalization reactive intermediates including furane‐2‐carboxylic acid/acetic acid anhydride and acetic acid triphenylmethyl ester are formed leading to the cellulose acetates with DS values in the range from 0.55 to 1.86.

The ionic liquid (IL), 1‐allyl‐3‐(1‐butyl)imidazolium chloride (AlBuImCl), has been synthesized and its properties determined. Increase in the temperature increased its conductivity and decreased its density, polarity, and viscosity. Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), dissolves in this IL by heating at 80 °C; this did not affect its degree of polymerization, decreased its index of crystallinity (Ic), and changed in morphology after regeneration. Convenient acylation of MCC was achieved by using 50% excess anhydride at 80 °C, for 24 or 48 h for acetic and butyric anhydride, respectively. The composition of the mixed esters depended on the initial ratio of the anhydrides, and their order of addition.

The results of the quantum chemistry study of the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EMIM+BF4-) were reported. The ab initio method and density functional theory (B3LYP method) was used to optimize the stable structure of the gas phase ion pair at the level of 6-311++G** basis set, respectively. An IR spectra for EMIM+BF4- were obtained through the vibrational analysis. The changes of atomic charge assignments have been investigated using the Natural Bond Orbital method. The computational results show that there exist hydrogen bonds and other weak interactions between the cation and the anion. Using counterpoise correction method to estimate the basis set superposition error, the interaction energy between the cation and anion is 346.78 kJ/mol.  相似文献

Mol­ecules of 1‐acetyl‐3‐ferrocenyl‐5‐methyl‐1H‐pyrazole, [Fe(C5H5)(C11H11N2O)], form a centrosymmetric dimer generated by a combination of one C—H⋯π(pyrazole) and one C—H⋯π(cyclo­penta­dienyl) inter­action. The dimers are linked by C—H⋯π inter­actions, involving the pyrazole rings as acceptors, into layers parallel to (10). Mol­ecules of 1‐acetyl‐5‐ferrocenyl‐3‐(2‐pyrid­yl)‐1H‐pyrazole, [Fe(C5H5)(C15H12N3O)], are linked by C—H⋯O inter­actions into a chain running in the [010] direction. Two chains of this type passing through each unit cell are connected by O⋯π(pyridyl) inter­actions into an [010] double chain.  相似文献

Energetic coordination compounds (ECC) based on 3d or 4d transition metals show promising characteristics to be used as potential replacements for highly toxic lead‐containing primary explosives. Herein we report the synthesis of 12 new ECC based on 1‐azidoethyl‐5H‐tetrazole (AET) or 1‐ethyl‐5H‐tetrazole (1‐ETZ) as nitrogen‐rich ligands as well as various central metals (Cu2+, Fe2+, Zn2+, Ag+) and anions such as perchlorate and nitrate. The influence of the increased endothermicity by adding an additional azide group was studied by comparing analogous ECC based on AET and 1‐ETZ. Furthermore, the compounds were extensively analyzed by XRD, IR, EA, solid‐state UV/Vis, and DTA as well as their sensitivities toward impact and friction were determined with BAM standard techniques, together with their sensitivity against electrostatic discharge. The sensitivities were compared with the one toward ball drop impact measurements. Classical initiation tests (nitropenta filled detonators) and ignition by laser irradiation highly prove the potential use of the most promising compounds in lead‐free initiation systems.  相似文献

The compounds belong to all classes of “energetic materials”: explosives, propellants, and pyrotechnics.

采用分子动力学模拟方法研究了298.15 K、0.1 MPa下摩尔分数为0.1-0.9 的甲醇对1-丁基-3-甲基咪唑四氟硼酸盐([BMIM][BF4])结构与性质的影响. 获得了体系的密度、径向分布函数、配位数、自扩散系数、粘度和电导率, 模拟得到的密度值与实验值符合较好. 结果显示: 体系各组分之间的径向分布函数随甲醇摩尔分数的增加呈规律性变化; 体系内阴阳离子的自扩散系数随着甲醇摩尔分数的增加不断增大; 甲醇的加入削弱了阴阳离子之间的相互作用, 体系粘度随着甲醇摩尔分数的增加逐渐减小, 电导率不断增大. 分析空间分布函数得到体系中各组分的三维空间分布情况.  相似文献
