The results detail a novel methodology for the electrochemical determination of ammonia based on its interaction with hydroquinone in DMF. It has been shown that ammonia reversibly removes protons from the hydroquinone molecules, thus facilitating the oxidative process with the emergence of a new wave at less positive potentials. The analytical utility of the proposed methodology has been examined with a linear range from 10 to 95 ppm and corresponding limit-of-detection of 4.2 ppm achievable. Finally, the response of hydroquinone in the presence of ammonia has been examined in the room temperature ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluormethylsulfonyl)imide, [EMIM][N(Tf)2]. Analogous voltammetric waveshapes to that observed in DMF were obtained, thereby confirming the viability of the method in either DMF or [EMIM][N(Tf)2] as solvent. 相似文献

Intramolecular photoinduced charge separation and recombination within the donor-acceptor molecule 4-(N-pyrrolidino)naphthalene-1,8-imide-pyromellitimide, 5ANI-PI, are studied using ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy in the room-temperature ionic liquid, 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)amide [EMIM][Tf2N]. The rate constants of both photoinduced charge separation and charge recombination for 5ANI-PI in [EMIM][Tf2N] are comparable to those observed in pyridine, which has a static dielectric constant similar to that of [EMIM][Tf2N] but a viscosity that is nearly 2 orders of magnitude lower than that of [EMIM][Tf2N]. The electron-transfer dynamics of 5ANI-PI in [EMIM][Tf2N] are compared to those in pyridine as a function of temperature and are discussed in the context of recently reported ionic liquid solvation studies. 相似文献

Ionic liquids have been widely used as green alternative mobile phase additives to shield the residuals silanols groups and modify the stationary/mobile phase HPLC systems. The present study aimed to evaluate the performance of the ionic liquid 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([EMIM][BF4]) in producing extrapolated logkw indices suitable to substitute for octanol–water logP or logD values. The effect of [EMIM][BF4] was investigated for a set of basic and neutral drugs using two different columns, BDS and ABZ+. [EMIM][BF4] was added simply alone or in combination with n‐octanol and was compared with the conventional masking agent n‐decylamine. [EMIM][BF4] reduced the retention by suppressing silanophilic interactions, althoug to a lower extent than n‐decylamine. Addition of n‐octanol further decreased the retention by shielding silanol sites on BDS and/or interacting with polar groups through hydrogen bonding on ABZ+. Logkw/logD7.4 relationships proved moderate compared with those derived upon addition of n‐decylamine. They were considerably improved upon the introduction of protonated fraction F+ in the correlation, reflecting ion pair formation between the chaotropic anion [BF4]‐ and the protonated basic compounds. In this aspect, the ionic liquid [EMIM][BF4], although efficient as a masking agent, cannot be recommended as mobile phase additive to reproduce octanol–water partitioning. The reaction of 2,2′‐Bis(2N‐(1,1′,3,3′‐tetramethyl‐guanidino))diphenylene‐amine (TMG2PA) ( 1 ) with CuI in MeCN results in the formation of [CuII(TMG2PAamid)I] ( 2 ) indicatingthat CuI is the target of an oxidative attack of the N‐H proton of the ligand which itself is converted to molecular hydrogen. In contrast, if [Cu(MeCN)4][PF6] is used as the CuI source, [CuI2(TMGbenz)2][PF6]2 ( 3 ) is obtained instead. The use of the non‐coordinating counterion [PF6]– apparently prevents CuI from oxidation but induces itself a cyclisation reaction within the ligand which results in the formation of a benzimidazole‐guanidine ligand. 相似文献

Conventional free‐radical copolymerization of acrylonitrile (AN) and styrene (St) was realized in room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs), 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([Bmim][BF4]) and 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([Bmim][PF6]), under mild conditions. The copolymerization in RTILs was more rapid than that in traditional solvent DMF. Poly(styrene‐co‐acrylonitrile) (SAN) prepared in RTILs had higher molecular weight than that prepared in DMF or by bulk copolymerization. SAN with bimodal molecular weight distribution (MWD) were obtained in most of the reaction conditions in [Bmim][BF4] and some conditions in [Bmim][PF6]. By the analysis of reaction phenomena and fluorescence behavior, the reason of the difference in MWD could be attributed to the difference of reaction system compatibility mainly caused by the immiscibility of macromolecule with RTIL. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The ionic liquid 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [BMIm][BF4] has demonstrated high efficiency when applied as a solvent in the oxidative nitro‐Mannich carbon? carbon bond formation. The copper‐catalyzed cross‐dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) between N‐phenyltetrahydroisoquinoline and nitromethane in [BMIm][BF4] occurred with high yield under the described reaction conditions. Both the ionic liquid and copper catalyst were recycled nine times with almost no lost of activity. The electrochemical behavior of the tertiary amine substrate and β‐nitroamine product was investigated employing [BMIm][BF4] as electrolyte solvent. The potentiostatic electrolysis in ionic liquid afforded the desired product with a high yield. This result and the cyclic voltammetric investigation provide a better understanding of the reaction mechanism, which involves radical and iminium cation intermediates. 相似文献

Depending on the amount of methanol present in solution, CO2 adducts of N‐heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) and N‐heterocyclic olefins (NHOs) have been found to be in fully reversible equilibrium with the corresponding methyl carbonate salts [EMIm][OCO2Me] and [EMMIm][OCO2Me]. The reactivity pattern of representative 1‐ethyl‐3‐methyl‐NHO–CO2 adduct 4 has been investigated and compared with the corresponding NHC–CO2 zwitterion: The protonation of 4 with HX led to the imidazolium salts [NHO–CO2H][X], which underwent decarboxylation to [EMMIm][X] in the presence of nucleophilic catalysts. NHO–CO2 zwitterion 4 can act as an efficient carboxylating agent towards CH acids such as acetonitrile. The [EMMIm] cyanoacetate and [EMMIm]2 cyanomalonate salts formed exemplify the first C?C bond‐forming carboxylation reactions with NHO‐activated CO2. The reaction of the free NHO with dimethyl carbonate selectively led to methoxycarbonylated NHO, which is a perfect precursor for the synthesis of functionalized ILs [NHO–CO2Me][X]. The first NHO‐SO2 adduct was synthesized and structurally characterized; it showed a similar reactivity pattern, which allowed the synthesis of imidazolium methyl sulfites upon reaction with methanol. 相似文献

An efficient and simple method for the synthesis of various [1, 2, 3]triazolo[1, 5‐a]pyridines has been established. The method involves a copper(II)‐catalyzed oxidative N?N bond formation that uses atmospheric oxygen as the terminal oxidant following hydrazonation in one pot. The use of ethyl acetate as the solvent dramatically promotes the oxidative N?N bond‐formation reaction and enables the application of oxidative cyclization in the efficient one‐pot reaction. A mechanism for the reaction was proposed on the basis of the results of a spectroscopic study. 相似文献

An efficient method for the synthesis of N‐alkylated 2‐(4‐substituted‐1H‐1,2,3‐triazol‐1‐yl)‐1H‐indole‐3‐carbaldehyde has been developed starting from oxindole and indole using Huisgen's 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition reaction of organic azides to alkynes. The effect of catalysts and solvent on these reactions has been investigated. Among all these conditions, while using CuSO4·5H2O, DMF was found to be the best system for this reaction. It could also be prepared in a one‐pot three‐component manner by treating equimolar quantities of halides, azides, and alkynes. The Huisgen's 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition reaction was performed using CuSO4·5H2O in DMF with easy work‐up procedure. 相似文献

In this work we have examined the nitration by acetyl nitrate of a range of activated and deactivated aromatic substrates in two ionic liquids and compared the results to the same reaction in dichloromethane. Both ionic liquids are stable to the reaction conditions, and in both ionic liquids the yields of reaction are higher after unit time than the same reactions in dichloromethane, although the regioselectivity is little affected by solvent choice. This result gives further support to the suggestion that in the ionic liquid, acetyl nitrate dissociates to give the nitronium ion, and that this is the effective nitrating agent here. However, it is shown that [bmpy][N(Tf)(2)] is a better solvent for aromatic nitration than [bmpy][OTf]. This is due to the ease of formation of nitronium ion in the former ionic liquid, and is consistent with the fact that [bmpy][N(Tf)(2)] is a weaker hydrogen bond acceptor solvent than [bmpy][OTf]. Finally, a method by which [bmpy][N(Tf)(2)] may be recovered and reused for aromatic nitration has been demonstrated. 相似文献

Using time‐resolved monochromatic high energy X‐ray diffraction, we present an in situ study of the solvothermal crystallisation of a new MOF [Yb2(BDC)3(DMF)2]?H2O (BDC=benzene‐1,4‐dicarboxylate and DMF=N,N‐dimethylformamide) under solvothermal conditions, from mixed water/DMF solvent. Analysis of high resolution powder patterns obtained reveals an evolution of lattice parameters and electron density during the crystallisation process and Rietveld analysis shows that this is due to a gradual topochemical replacement of coordinated solvent molecules. The water initially coordinated to Yb3+ is replaced by DMF as the reaction progresses. 相似文献

A novel FeCl3‐mediated oxidative spirocyclization for construction of a new class of di‐spirolinked π‐conjugated molecules, dispiro[fluorene‐9,5′‐indeno[2,1‐a]indene‐10′,9′′‐fluorene]s (DSFIIFs), has been reported. The combination of FeCl3 with FeO(OH) triggered an unprecedented double one‐electron oxidation of difluorenylidene diarylethanes to afford the corresponding dispirocycles in high yields. The highest fluorescence quantum yield was up to 0.94 in solution. This protocol is also applicable to the synthesis of the non‐spirolinked dihydroindenoindenes. 相似文献

The GeIV chlorometallate complexes, [EMIM]2[GeCl6], [EDMIM]2[GeCl6] and [PYRR]2[GeCl6] (EMIM=1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium; EDMIM=2,3‐dimethyl‐1‐ethylimidazolium; PYRR=N‐butyl‐N‐methylpyrrolidinium) have been synthesised and fully characterised; the first two also by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The imidazolium chlorometallates exhibited significant C?H???Cl hydrogen bonds, resulting in extended supramolecular assemblies in the solid state. Solution 1H NMR data also showed cation–anion association. The synthesis and characterisation of GeII halometallate salts [EMIM][GeX3] (X=Cl, Br, I) and [PYRR][GeCl3], including single‐crystal X‐ray analyses for the homologous series of imidazolium salts, are reported. In these complexes, the intermolecular interactions are much weaker in the solid state and they appear not to be significantly associated in solution. Cyclic‐voltammetry experiments on the GeIV species in CH2Cl2 solution showed two distinct, irreversible reduction waves attributed to GeIV–GeII and GeII–Ge0, whereas the GeII species exhibited one irreversible reduction wave. The potential for the GeII–Ge0 reduction was unaffected by changing the cation, although altering the oxidation state of the precursor from GeIV to GeII does have an effect; for a given cation, reduction from the [GeCl3]? salts occurred at a less cathodic potential. The nature of the halide co‐ligand also has a marked influence on the reduction potential for the GeII–Ge0 couple, such that the reduction potentials for the [GeX3]? salts become significantly less cathodic when the halide (X) is changed Cl→Br→I. 相似文献

The applicability of infrared (IR) spectroscopy for quantitative concentration measurements in mixtures of carbohydrates and ionic liquids (ILs) is investigated. The compound 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium acetate, [EMIM][OAc]—an “enzyme‐friendly” ionic liquid with great application potential in the dissolution of various biomasses—is used as solvent in combination with alpha‐D ‐glucose. Our study establishes a new way to monitor the concentration of sugars in ILs, thus providing a convenient method to follow the kinetics of, for example, enzymatic reactions in [EMIM][OAc]. As a first step, we present the IR spectrum of pure [EMIM][OAc] (this constitutes the first vibrational study of this particular IL). Although numerous lines overlap in the fingerprint region of the spectrum, characteristic features can be assigned to the corresponding vibrational modes of both ions. Secondly, we study different mixtures of the IL with alpha‐D ‐glucose (in the concentration range: 0–20 mass % glucose) and analyze them by means of IR spectroscopy, followed by computational methods, thus demonstrating the great potential of this spectroscopic technique in quantitative measurements. 相似文献

Oxidative addition of methyl iodide to Vaska’s complex in the ionic liquids 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium triflate [C4mim][OTf], [C4mim] bis(trifluormethylsulfonyl)imide [Tf2N], and N-hexylpyridinium [C6pyr][Tf2N] occurred cleanly to give the expected Ir(III) oxidative addition product. Pseudo-first order rate constants were determined for the oxidative addition reaction in each solvent ([Vaska’s] = 0.25 mM, [CH3I] = 37.5 mM). The observed rate constants under these conditions were 5-10 times slower than the rate seen in DMF. At high methyl iodide concentrations (>23 mM), the expected first order dependence on methyl iodide was not observed. In each ionic liquid, there was no change in the reaction rates within experimental error over the methyl iodide concentration range of 23-75 mM. At lower methyl iodide concentration, a decrease in rate was observed in [C4mim][Tf2N] with decreasing concentration of methyl iodide. 相似文献

Compounds of the three large cations tetramethylammonium, tetramethylphosphonium, and tetramethylarsonium with the superoxide radical anion were synthesized by either metathesis or ion exchange in liquid ammonia. They were obtained from concentrated solutions as ammoniates in the form of long needle‐shaped single crystals. [N(CH3)4]‐(O2)?3NH3 crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, whereas the two compounds [E(CH3)4](O2)?2NH3 (E=P, As) are isostructural and belong to the orthorhombic crystal system. The cation–anion packing in all three crystal structures is related to the sodium chloride structure. All structures contain hydrogen bonds between the ammonia molecules and between ammonia and the superoxide. The solvent of crystallization was easily released from the crystals upon complete removal of the solvent from the reaction vessel, leading to polycrystalline samples. The Raman spectra of all three solvent‐free compounds show the symmetric stretching mode of the superoxide ion at about 1123 cm?1. The desolvated [N(CH3)4](O2) was investigated by powder X‐ray diffraction, and the crystal structure was solved by ab initio simulated annealing methods by using rigid‐body models of the constituent molecular ions. The superoxide ion shows rotational disorder. The magnetic susceptibility of tetramethylammonium superoxide follows the Curie–Weiss law with a high‐temperature effective magnetic moment of 1.66(3) μB and a paramagnetic Curie temperature of Θ=?13(6) K. Complementary electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy revealed that the average g factor is temperature‐dependent. It decreased from 2.15 at 10 K to 1.66 at 100 K, possibly due to the onset of rotational motion of the superoxide ion and in accordance with the lower‐than‐expected effective magnetic moment. 相似文献

A novel and efficient method for the preparation of 1,3‐dihydro‐3‐oxo‐2‐benzofuran‐1‐carboxylates 4 under mild conditions has been developed. Thus, the reaction of [2‐(dimethoxymethyl)phenyl]lithiums, generated easily from 1‐bromo‐2‐(dimethoxymethyl)benzenes 1 , with α‐keto esters gives the corresponding 2‐[2‐(dimethoxymethyl)phenyl]‐2‐hydroxyalkanoates 2 . The TsOH‐catalyzed cyclization of these hydroxy acetals is followed by the oxidation of the resulting cyclic acetals 3 with PCC to give the desired products in satisfactory yields. The reaction of [2‐(dimethoxymethyl)‐4,5‐dimethoxyphenyl]lithium with (MeOC?O)2, followed by treatment with NaBH4 or organolithiums, affords 2‐[2‐(dimethoxymethyl)‐4,5‐dimethoxyphenyl]‐2‐hydroxyalkanoates 6 , which can similarly be transformed into the corresponding 1,3‐dihydro‐3‐oxo‐2‐benzofuran‐1‐carboxylates 7 in reasonable yields. 相似文献

Yarrowia lipolytica (YLL), Candida rugosa (CRL), and porcine pancreatic lipase (PPL) were employed successfully as catalysts in the enzymatic ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of ε‐caprolactone in the presence of 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([EMIM][BF4]), 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([BMIM][BF4]), 1‐butylpyridinium tetrafluoroborate ([BuPy][BF4]), 1‐butylpyridinium trifluoroacetate ([BuPy][CF3COO]), 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium nitrate ([EMIM][NO3]) ionic liquids. Poly(ε‐caprolactone)s (PCLs) with molecular weights (Mn) in the range of 300–9000 Da were obtained. 1H‐ and 13C‐NMR analyses on PCLs formed by YLL, CRL, and PPL showed asymmetric telechelic α‐hydroxy‐ω‐carboxylic acid end groups. Differences between CP‐MAS and MAS spectra are observed and discussed in terms of morphology. MALDI‐TOF spectra show the formation of at least seven species. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Wide Angle X‐Ray Scattering (WAXS) results demonstrate the high degree of crystallinity present in all the polyesters. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 3‐Benzylindole‐2‐carbohydrazides (4) on reaction with triethylorthoformate in a polar solvent like DMF yielded only 10‐benzyl‐1,2‐dihydro‐1‐oxo‐1,2,4‐triazino[4,5‐a]indoles (5) while (4) on reaction with triethylorthoacetate in DMF yielded both 10‐benzyl‐4‐methyl‐1,2‐dihydro‐1‐oxo‐1,2,4‐triazino[4,5‐a]indoles (5) and 3‐benzyl‐2‐(5‐methyl‐1,3,4‐oxadiazol‐2‐yl)indoles (6) instead of only the triazinoindoles as expected. The oxadiazolylindoles (6) were also synthesized by refluxing (4) with excess of orthoesters. The structures of the compounds formed were characterized by their analytical and spectral data. 相似文献

The near-surface electronic structure of the room-temperature ionic liquid (RT-IL) 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([EMIM][Tf(2)N]) has been investigated with the combination of the electron spectroscopies metastable impact electron spectroscopy (MIES), ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS (HeI and HeII)), and monochromatized X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). We find that the top of the valence band states originates from states of the cation (see also ref 1). The ultimately surface-sensitive technique MIES proves that the surface layer consists of both cations and anions. The temperature dependence of the spectra has been measured between about 160 and 610 K. Information on the glass transition and the possibility for low-temperature distillation of [EMIM][Tf(2)N] at reduced pressures is derived from the present results. 相似文献
