Perimidine-based chelators 1 and 2 were prepared, and their structures were confirmed by 1H and 13C NMR, MS spectroscopy and elemental analysis. These compounds were studied as specific synthetic receptors for the recognition of transition metal ions. They exhibited high affinity and selectivity towards Cu(II) ions. The conditional binding constants, linear dynamic range and detection limit were determined by UV–vis spectroscopy. These parameters demonstrated high potential of the prepared synthetic receptors for the recognition and determination of Cu(II) ions. The minimum detectable concentrations of Cu(II) ions for the synthetic receptors 1 and 2 were 270 and 75 nM (R 2 = 0.9915 and 0.9964) in aqueous medium (water/DMSO; 99:1 (v/v)), respectively.  相似文献

Abstract

In the present work, a novel composite consisting of magnetite, activated carbon from spent coffee grounds and natural clay (MACCC) was prepared by a one-pot synthesis method via a simultaneous activation and magnetization processes. Various techniques (XRD, FTIR, SEM, TEM, EDX, BET) were utilized to characterize the synthesized composite before utilizing it as an adsorbent for removal of Cu(II), Ni(II) and Pb(II) ions from aqueous solutions. Conditions for removal of heavy metals were thoroughly optimized as 25?°C, pH of 5.5, adsorbent dosage of 2?g L?1, and a contact time of 60?min. Three models of pseudo first-, second-order and intraparticle diffusion as well as three models of Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkin were used to analyze kinetics and isotherms of the adsorption process. Thermodynamics was discussed completely. Regeneration and recyclability of the adsorbent were also evaluated. Based on the analysis of experimental results, a possible adsorption mechanism of heavy metals onto the synthesized composite was proposed. The maximum capacities caculated from Langmuir model followed the order of Pb(II) > Cu(II) > Ni(II) as 143.56, 96.16 and 84.86?mg·g?1, respectively. The overall results indicated that MACCC is a potential adsorbent for removal of toxic Pb(II), Cu(II) and Ni(II) ions from wastewater due to simple preparation, high removal efficiency and good recyclability.  相似文献

This study investigated the feasibility of Fusarium solani biomass as a biosorbent for Cu(II) and Pb(II) removal from aqueous solutions. Batch sorption experiments were carried out for Cu(II) and Pb(II) to quantify the sorption kinetics, pH, biosorbent dose and pretreatment of F. solani biomass. Biomass metal uptake clearly competed with protons present in the aqueous medium, making pH an important variable in the process. The maximum biosorption by F. solani biomass was obtained with solutions having pH 5 for both metal ions. An enhanced Cu(II) removal (96.53%) was observed for aluminum hydroxide pretreated biomass. Maximum Pb(II) removal (95.48%) was observed with native biomass. Time dependence experiments for the metal ions uptake showed that adsorption equilibrium reached almost 240 min after metal addition. The kinetic studies showed that the biosorption process followed the pseudo second‐order rate model for Cu(II) and Pb(II). The equilibrium data fitted well to the Langmiur isotherm model.  相似文献

The capacities of Pleurotus ostreatus mushroom and spent substrate were evaluated for the biosorption of cadmium (II) from aqueous solution in order to select the most efficient material for bioremediation. The optimum sorption conditions were optimized, including the pH of the aqueous solution, contact time, biomass dosage, initial metal concentration, and temperature. The sorption of cadmium on both biosorbents was also evaluated by several kinetic, equilibrium, and thermodynamic models. The possible heavy metal biosorption mechanisms were evaluated through point of zero charge (pHpzc), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (SEM-EDX). Based on the results of column studies, the effectiveness of the P. ostreatus spent substrate was confirmed as a biosorbent for Cd(II) removal from aqueous solutions.  相似文献

The capability of Cedar bark (Cedrus atlantica Manetti) (CB) for the adsorption of Cu(II) from aqueous solutions was examined. Adsorption isotherm and kinetics of Cu(II) by CB were investigated through a number of batch adsorption experiments. The effect of experimental parameters such as initial Cu(II) concentration, adsorbent mass, initial pH and ionic strength on the removal of metal ions was examined. Equilibrium data were fitted to the Langmuir, Freundlich and Harkins–Jura isotherm models. Experimental equilibrium data were best represented by the Langmuir and Harkins–Jura isotherms. The findings revealed that the CB has the potential to be used as an adsorbent for the removal of heavy-metal ions from aqueous solutions.  相似文献

Alginate beads (ABs) immobilized with hydrous zirconium oxide (ZO) were used as a hybrid adsorbent (ZO@AB) for the effective removal of copper ions [Cu(II)] from aqueous phase. ZO@AB was characterized using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy to confirm the impregnation of ABs with ZO and the adsorption of Cu(II) onto ZO@AB. The maximum equilibrium sorption capacity of ZO@AB for Cu(II) was 63.1 mg·g−1 at pH 5. The Cu(II) removal rate was high at the beginning of reaction, with >90% adsorption within 24 hours, and equilibrium was achieved within 48 hours. The adsorption of Cu(II) onto ZO@AB was well described by pseudo‐second‐order kinetic model (R2 > 0.99), and the monolayer nature of sorption was supported by the Langmuir model (R2 > 0.99). The sorption process was endothermic, favorable, and spontaneous in nature. Regarding the reusability of the adsorbent, its sorption capacity remained satisfactory (>90%) throughout the 5 consecutive cycles (regeneration in 0.1 mol·L−1 HCl). The stoichiometric ratio of released calcium ions [Ca(II)] to adsorbed copper ions [Cu(II)] was approximately 1:1, confirming that ion exchange was the main mechanism for removal of Cu(II) from aqueous phase. The developed adsorbent (ZO@AB) shows promise as a candidate for the effective and selective removal of Cu(II) from aqueous phase.  相似文献

Abstract

The isolation, identification and characterization of bacteria obtained from soil of Ergani Makam Mountain were performed and the results revealed that the bacteria were thermophilic Anoxybacillus caldiproteolyticus. The characterized bacteria and purchased Geobacillus stearothermophilus were immobilized on Amberlite XAD-16 in order to prepare two biosorbents for preconcentration experiments for the determination of cadmium (II) ions. The produced biosorbents were enriched separately using mini-columns and the analyte was determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The effects of solution parameters were investigated for the separation and preconcentration yields. The recovery efficiencies of Amberlite XAD-16 immobilized separately with A. caldiproteolyticus and G. stearothermophilus were determined to be 98.23?±?2.40 and 98.93?±?1.3 (n?=?5) for the optimum working conditions, respectively. Moreover, the Cd (II) ion was recovered with 10?mL of 1?mol L?1 of HCl and 2?mL of 0.5?mol L?1 HNO3 solutions. The optimum working conditions were determined to be at pH 6.0 and a flow rate of 2?mL min?1 for both biosorbents. The recovery efficiencies of matrix ions were characterized to investigate the feasibility of the developed preconcentration methods. The accuracy of the proposed methods were controlled by analyzing a SCP Science EnviroMAT Waste Water, Low (EU-L-2) certified reference material. The obtained results were comparable to the certified values. These methods were also applied to the analysis of water samples from Dicle River, Hazar Lake and Diyarbak?r tap water for Cd (II).  相似文献

Lignocellulosic fibers extracted from plants are considered an interesting raw material for environmentally friendly products with multiple applications. This work investigated the feasibility of using hemp- and flax-based materials in the form of felts as biosorbents for the removal of metals present in aqueous solutions. Biosorption of Al, Cd, Co, Cu, Mn, Ni and Zn from a single solution by the two lignocellulosic-based felts was examined using a batch mode. The parameters studied were initial metal concentration, adsorbent dosage, contact time, and pH. In controlled conditions, the results showed that: (i) the flax-based felt had higher biosorption capacities with respect to the metals studied than the hemp-based felt; (ii) the highest removal efficiency was always obtained for Cu ions, and the following order of Cu > Cd > Zn > Ni > Co > Al > Mn was found for both examined biosorbents; (iii) the process was rapid and 10 min were sufficient to attain the equilibrium; (iv) the efficiency improved with the increase of the adsorbent dosage; and (v) the biosorption capacities were independent of pH between 4 and 6. Based on the obtained results, it can be considered that plant-based felts are new, efficient materials for metal removal.  相似文献

Copper(II) complexes of 3-methylpicolinic acid (3-MepicH), namely [Cu(3-Mepic)2] · 2H2O (1) and [Cu(3-Mepic)2(4-pic)] (2) were prepared and characterized by IR spectroscopy and thermal analysis (TGA/DTA). Crystal structure for 2 was determined by X-ray crystal structure analysis. 1 was prepared by reaction of copper(II) sulfate pentahydrate and 3-methylpicolinic acid in aqueous solution, while 2 was prepared by recrystallization of 1 from 4-picoline solution. Structure analysis revealed square-pyramidal copper(II) coordination and N,O-chelating mode of 3-methylpicolinic acid in 2. Copper(II) is coordinated by two 3-Mepic ligands in the basal plane of a square pyramid and by 4-picoline in the apical position. Crystal packing of 2 is dominated by weak intermolecular C–H ··· O hydrogen bonds and π ··· π stacking interactions forming a complex three-dimensional supramolecular architecture.  相似文献

The complexes were synthesized by the reaction between sodium salt of p-aminosalicylic acid (PAS) and Cu(II) for 1 and corresponding ethylenediamine (en) or its derivatives for 26. The complexes were characterized by using elemental analyses, FT-IR, UV–Vis, magnetic moment measurements, and thermal analyses techniques. In complex 1[Cu2(PA)4(H2O)2], two Cu(II) ions were found as bridged by four μ-O:O′ p-aminosalicylato (PA) ligands, forming a cage structure, and two aqua ligands to form dinuclear square-pyramidal geometry around Cu(II) ions. In the complexes 26, the PA (anionic form of p-aminosalicylic acid) coordinated to Cu(II) ions as monodentate manner by using its oxygen atom of deprotonated carboxylic acid and ethylenediamine derivatives coordinated to the Cu(II) ions in bidentate manner to form mononuclear octahedral complexes [Cu(PA)2(L)2] (L = ethylendiamine, N,N-dimethylethylendiamine, N,N′-dimethylethylendiamine, N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylendiamine, and 1,3-propanediamine, for complexes 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, respectively). In all the complexes OH and NH2 groups of PA ligands were not coordinated to metals.  相似文献

The thermal decomposition kinetics of sterically hindered salen type ligand (L) and its metal complexes [M=Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II)] were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis. A direct insertion probe-mass spectrometer (DIP-MS) was used for the characterization of metal complexes of L and all fragmentations and stable ions were characterized. The thermogravimetry and differential thermogravimetry (TG-DTG) plots of salen type salicylaldimine ligand and complexes showed a single step. The kinetic analysis of thermogravimetric data was performed by using the invariant kinetic parameter method (IKP). The values of the invariant activation energy, E inv and the invariant pre-exponential factor, A inv, were calculated by using Coats-Redfern (CR) method. The thermal stabilities and activation energies of metal complexes of sterically hindered salen type ligand (L) were found as Co(II)>Cu(II)>Ni(II)>L and E Cu>E Ni>E Co>L. Also, the probabilities of decomposition functions were investigated. The diffusion functions (D n) are most probable for the thermal decomposition of all complexes.  相似文献

Since glycylglycine (Gly‐Gly) residue in the N‐terminal region of human prion protein, a copper binding protein, binds with Cu(II), N‐terminus Gly‐Gly side‐chain containing water soluble block copolymer was synthesized and used for simultaneous sensing and removal of Cu(II) ion from aqueous medium. The polymer has amide nitrogen atom and ester carbonyl group as potential binding sites in the side‐chain Gly‐Gly pendants. Job's plot experiment confirms 2:1 binding stoichiometry of polymer with Cu(II). This polymer is able to sense parts per billion level of Cu(II) very selectively in an aqueous medium and remove Cu(II) ions quantitatively by precipitating out the Cu(II) via complex formation in the pH range 7–9. The binding mode of polymer with Cu(II) in polymer‐Cu(II) complex was characterized by 1H NMR, FTIR, and UV–vis spectroscopy. The attachment of Cu(II) in the polymer‐Cu(II) complex was confirmed by cyclic voltammetry experiment. Cu(II) release from the complex was achieved at pH 5 due to the protonation of amide nitrogen atoms in the Gly‐Gly moiety. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. The study describes the preparation of Cu(II)‐immobilized copolymer(CIC) under optimum conditions for the effective removal of urea. The copolymeric hydrogels, synthesized by free‐radical aqueous copolymerization of monomers acrylamide and sodium acrylate, have been analyzed for their Cu(II) uptake behavior. The sorption of Cu(II) into polymer follows a Langmuir–type pattern and amount sorbed depends upon the composition of copolymeric gels, presence of other co‐ions in the solution, pH of the solution, initial concentration of sorbate, degree of crosslinking of the copolymeric hydrogel, temperature of the solution etc. In the preliminary study, the Cu(II) immobilized co‐polymer(CIC) sorbent demonstrated a fair tendency to remove urea from aqueous solutions.  相似文献

The temperature‐sensitive Cu(II) ion imprinted polymer (Cu(II)‐MIIP) materials were prepared via precipitation polymerization methods in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) by using methanol as cosolvent. In the polymerization process, the polymerization mixture consists of copper ion, N‐isopropylacrylamide (functional monomer), ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (crosslinker), and 2,2′‐azobisisobutyronitrile (initiator). Non‐imprinted polymer particles were similarly prepared in the same way except for the presence of copper ion in the polymerization reaction. In this study, the characteristic of swelling/shrinking for Cu(II)‐MIIP in response to the change in temperature was investigated by scanning electron microscopy and photograph of swelling/shrinking for Cu(II)‐MIIP in deionized water. The above‐synthesized polymer particles were characterized by using Fourier transform infrared, thermo‐gravimetric analysis, and X‐ray diffraction techniques. Furthermore, the complete removal of the copper metal ion from the CuP was confirmed by atomic absorption spectroscopy. The selectivity adsorption of polymer materials was investigated from dilute aqueous solutions, and it was found to have an imprinting efficiency of 2.13 for Zn and Co ions. ABSTRACT

In this study, preconcentration and separation of Cu(II) and Pb(II) ions by using Fe3O4@SiO2@Bacillus pumilis before their determinations by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) were investigated. The thermophilic Bacillus pumilis were isolated from Meyremderesi spring, ??rnak, Turkey. Effects of important parameters such as pH, adsorbent amount, eluent type, concentration and volume of eluent and sample volume on magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) were examined in details. The preconcentration factors for Cu(II) and Pb(II) ions were calculated as 30 and 40, respectively. The accuracy of the proposed extraction procedure was validated analysing certificated reference materials and addition – recovery tests. The concentration of copper and lead were determined in water samples from Turkey by Flame AAS after application developed preconcentration-separation method.  相似文献

The 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) orotates were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, spectral methods (UV-vis and FTIR) and thermal analysis techniques (TG, DTG and DTA). The Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) ions in diaquabis(1,10-phenanthroline)metal(II) diorotate octahedral complexes [M(H2O)2(phen)2](H2Or)2·nH2O (M=Co(II), n=2.25; Ni(II), n=3; Cu(II) and Cd(II), n=2) are coordinated by two aqua ligands and two moles of phen molecules as chelating ligands through their two nitrogen atoms. The monoanionic orotate behaves as a counter ion in the complexes. On the basis of the first DTGmax, the thermal stability of the hydrated complexes follows the order: Cd(II), 68°C 68°C  相似文献

The aqueous solution behavior and thermoreversible gelation properties of pyridine‐end‐functionalized poly(ethylene glycol)–poly(L ‐lactide) (PEG–(PLLA)8–py) star block copolymers in the presence of coordinating transition metal ions were studied. In aqueous solutions, the macromonomers self‐assembled into micelles and micellar aggregates at low concentrations and formed physically crosslinked, thermoreversible hydrogels above a critical gel concentration (CGC) of 8% w/v. In the presence of transition metal ions like Cu(II), Co(II), or Mn(II), the aggregate dimensions increased. Above the CGC, the gel–sol transition shifted to higher temperatures due to the formation of additional crosslinks from intermolecular coordination complexes between metal ions and pyridine ligands. Furthermore, as an example, PEG–(PLLA)8–py hydrogels stabilized by Mn(II)–pyridine coordination complexes were more resistant against degradation/dissolution when placed in phosphate buffered saline at 37 °C when compared with hydrogels prepared in water. Importantly, the stabilizing effect of metal–ligand coordination was noticeable at very low Cu(II) concentrations, which have been reported to be noncytotoxic for fibroblasts in vitro. These novel PEG–(PLLA)8–py metallo‐hydrogels, which are the first systems to combine metal–ligand coordination with the advantageous properties of PEG–PLLA copolymer hydrogels, are appealing materials that may find use in biomedical as well as environmental applications like the removal of heavy metal ions from waste streams. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Pseudohalide complexes of copper(II) with aliphatic bidentate amines, [Cu(N3)2(N,N-diEten)]2 1, [Cu(NCO)2(N,N-diEten)]2 2, [Cu(NCO)2(N,N-diMeen)]2 3, [Cu(N3)(NCS)(N,N'-diMeen)]2 4 and [Cu(N3)(NCO)(N,N-diMeen)]2 5 (N,N-diEten=N,N-diethylethylenediamine; N,N-diMeen=N,N- dimethyl-ethylenediamine and N,N'-diMeen = N,N'-dimethylethylenediamine), were prepared, characterized and their thermal behavior was investigated by TG curves. According to thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction patterns all compounds decomposed giving copper(II) oxide as final product. The mechanisms of decomposition were proposed and an order of thermal stability was established. This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Novel efficient complexing resins—poly(vinylbenzyl pyridinium salts) fabricated through poly(vinylbenzyl halogene-co-divinylbenzene) quaternization of N-decyloxy-1-(pyridin-3-yl)ethaneimine and N-decyloxy-1-(pyridin-4-yl)ethaneimine—were tested as adsorbents of Pb(II), Cd(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Ni(II) from aqueous solutions. The structure of these materials was established by 13C CP-MAS NMR, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, as well as thermogravimetric and differential thermal analyses. The textural properties were determined using scanning electron microscopy and low-temperature N2 sorption. Based on the conducted sorption studies, it was shown that the uptake behavior of the metal ions towards novel resins depended on the type of functionalities, contact time, pH, metal concentrations, and the resin dosage. The Langmuir model was investigated to be the best one for fitting isothermal adsorption equilibrium data, and the corresponding adsorption capacities were predicted to be 296.4, 201.8, 83.8, 38.1, and 39.3 mg/g for Pb(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Cu(II), and Ni(II), respectively. These results confirmed that owing to the presence of the functional pyridinium groups, the resins demonstrated proficient metal ion removal capacities. Furthermore, VBBr-D4EI could be successfully used for the selective uptake of Pb(II) from wastewater. It was also shown that the novel resins can be regenerated without significant loss of their sorption capacity.  相似文献

A novel optimized chelating hydrogel was synthesized via graft copolymerization of acrylamide and 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate (as two‐dentate chelating co‐monomer) onto salep (a multicomponent polysaccharide obtained from dried tubers of certain natural terrestrial orchids) using N,N′‐methylenebisacrylamide as a crosslinker and ammonium persulfate as an initiator. Reaction parameters (N,N′‐methylenebisacrylamide and ammonium persulfate amounts as well as acrylamide/2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate weight ratio) affecting the water absorption of the chelating hydrogel were optimized using a systematic method to achieve a hydrogel with high swelling capacity as possible. Heavy metal ion adsorption capacity of the optimized hydrogel for metal ions [Cu (II), Pb (II), Cd (II), and Cr (III)] were investigated in aqueous media containing different concentrations of these ions (5–50 ppm). The results showed that the hydrogel have great potential for heavy metal removal from aqueous solutions. The hydrogel formation was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and surface morphology study of the hydrogel was performed by scanning electron microscope.
