A linear accelerated electron beam is a powerful source of highly energetic photons that can be used for various nuclear applications. In this work, the bremsstrahlung photon yields from thin targets such as Ta, Nb, Cu and Al have been calculated using the FLUKA simulation code. The simulation calculations were performed for incident electrons with energies in the range of 10–40 MeV and targets with thicknesses between 4×10?4 and 10?3 radiation lengths.  相似文献

在中高能质子诱发散裂反应相关核工程设计中,可靠的蒙特卡罗模拟程序结合核反应理论模型具有较好的理论指导意义。本工作中,利用GEANT4耦合INCL4和ABLA理论模型以及FLUKA耦合PEANUT模型模拟计算了几百MeV至几个GeV质子轰击Be,Al,Fe,W,U等靶后30°,60°,120°,150°出射角产生的散裂中子双微分截面,并与现有实验数据进行了比较。结果发现,FLUKA和GEANT4模拟计算较好地再现了Al,Fe,W,U等靶实验测量数据。然而,模拟结果明显低估了Be靶出射中子能量小于10 MeV能区的实验数据。For the design of nuclear engineering related with medium-high energy proton induced spallation reaction,the reliable Monte Carlo simulation codes coupled with nuclear reaction models have a good theoretical guidance.In this work,the production spallation neutron double differential cross sections at 30°,60°,120°,150°emission angle for Be,Al,Fe,W,U target materials at incident proton energies between several hundred MeV and GeV are theoretically calculated by using the GEANT4 coupled INCL4 and ABLA,and the FLUKA coupled PEANUT.The calculated results were compared with the available experimental data.It is found that the GEANT4 and FLUKA calculations well reproduced the experimental measurement of Al,Fe,W,U target materials.However,calculations obviously underestimated the emission neutrons of Be target for lower than 10 MeV energy range.  相似文献

We measure cross sections for residual nuclide formation in the mass range 7 ≤ A ≤ 96 caused by bombardment with protons and deuterons of 3.65-GeV/nucleon energy of enriched tin isotopes (112,118,120,124Sn). The experimental data are compared with calculations by the codes FLUKA, LAHET, CEM03, and LAQGSM03. Scaling behavior is observed for the whole mass region of residual nuclei, showing a possible multifragmentation mechanism for the formation of light products (7 ≤ A ≤ 30). Our analysis of the isoscaling dependence also shows a possible contribution of multifragmentation to the production of heavier nuclides, in the mass region 40 ≤ A ≤ 80. A new scheme is presented for the physical processes leading to the nuclear fusion reaction d(3He, 4He)p catalyzed by a negatively charged muon μ. It is shown that the observable rate and yield of the nuclear reaction depend on a chain of ion-molecular reactions involving the participation of the dμ 3He molecule. Results of the intranuclear cascade calculation are compared for 62 MeV protons on 89Y and 54Fe targets. Standard calculations and results with mean free paths increased fourfold are compared. The latter set gives poorer results versus experimental data due to an overestimate of nuclear transparency.  相似文献

Neutrons and light charged particles produced in 62.9MeV proton-induced reactions on 208Pb were measured during a single experiment performed at the CYCLONE facility in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium). Two independent experimental set-ups were used to extract double differential cross-sections for neutrons, protons, deuterons, tritons, 3He and alpha-particles. Charged particles were detected using a set of Si- Si- CsI telescopes from 25° to 155°, by step of 10 degrees. Neutrons were measured using shielded DeMoN counters, liquid NE213 scintillators, at 24°, 35°, 55°, 80° and 120°. These data allowed the determination of angle differential, energy differential and total production cross-sections. A comparison with theoretical calculations (MCNPX, FLUKA and TALYS) has been performed. It shows that the neutron and proton production rates are well predicted by MCNPX, using the INCL4 option. All the other codes underestimate the neutron production whereas they overestimate the proton one. For composite particles, which represent 17% of the charged particle total reaction cross-section, neither the shape nor the amplitude of the cross-sections are correctly predicted by the models.  相似文献

Mössbauer powder diffractometry was used to study partially ordered 57Fe3Al. The intensities of fundamental and superlattice Bragg diffractions were measured at 89 Doppler velocities through all nuclear resonances in the sample. The measurements were analysed to provide data on the long-range order of Fe atoms having different numbers of Al neighbours. Energy spectra of the Bragg diffractions of Mössbauer radiations were calculated with both kinematic theory and dynamic theory. Comparing experimental data with calculations showed that Fe atoms having three and five Al atoms as first-nearest neighbours (1NNs) have partial sc long-range order, similar to that of Fe atoms with four Al 1NNs. The Fe atoms with two Al 1NNs had partial fcc order similar to that of Fe atoms with zero Al 1NN. No evidence was found for B32 order for any of the Fe environments.  相似文献

The diffusion-effusion model has been used to analyse the release and yields of Fr and Cs isotopes from uranium carbide targets of very different thicknesses (6.3 and 148 g/cm2) bombarded by a 1 GeV proton beam. Release curves of several isotopes of the same element and production efficiency versus decay half-life are well fitted with the same set of parameters. Comparison of efficiencies for neutron-rich and neutron-deficient Cs isotopes enables separation of the contributions from the primary (p + 238U) and secondary (n + 238U) reactions to the production of neutron-rich Cs isotopes. A rather simple calculation of the neutron contribution describes these data fairly well. The FLUKA code describes the primary and secondary-reaction contributions to the Cs isotopes production efficiencies for different targets quite well.  相似文献

在ADS散裂靶系统的优化设计中,蒙特卡罗方法结合可靠的散裂反应理论模型进行中子学计算具有重要的作用。本工作利用Geant4程序中的INCLXX模型、BIC模型以及BERT模型和FLUKA程序分别模拟了597 MeV和1 500 MeV质子轰击薄铅靶不同出射角度的中子双微分截面,500,1 500 MeV质子轰击厚铅靶不同出射角度的中子双微分产额,以及400,600,800,1 000和1 200 MeV质子轰击厚钨靶在反角方向(175 °)的中子双微分产额,并与实验数据进行比较。研究表明,对于薄铅靶,Geant4程序的INCLXX模型和FLUKA程序模拟结果与实验符合得更好。能量在10~40 MeV范围内,BIC模型模拟结果明显高于实验数据,而BERT模型模拟结果略微低于实验数据。对于厚铅靶,在40 MeV左右所有的模拟结果都低于实验数据。对于厚钨靶,Geant4程序的BIC模型和FLUKA程序与实验数据符合得较好,INCLXX模型在能量高于60 MeV时模拟结果低于实验数据,BERT模型与实验数据差异较大。总体来看,Geant4程序的INCLXX模型和FLUKA程序进行ADS散裂靶相关的中子学的计算是合理和可靠的。The reliable Monte Carlo simulation codes coupled with nuclear reaction models play an important role in the neutronic calculation for the design and optimization of the ADS spallation target. In this work, the double differential cross sections at different angles produced from a thin lead target bombarded with 597 and 1 500 MeV protons, the neutron energy spectra at different angles produced from a thick lead target bombarded with 500 and 1 500 MeV protons, and the neutron energy spectra in the backward direction(175°) produced from a thick tungsten target bombarded with 400, 600, 800, 1 000 and 1 200 MeV protons are calculated with the Geant4 code coupled INCLXX, BIC and BERT models and the FLUKA code. The calculations are compared with the available experimental data. The results show that, for the thin lead target, the calculations with the Geant4 coupled INCLXX model and FLUKA code well reproduce the experimental results. In a energy range from 10 to 40 MeV, BIC model obviously overestimates the experimental results, and BERT model slightly underestimates the experimental results. For the thick lead target, all of the calculations underestimate the experimental results around 40MeV. For the thick tungsten target, the Geant4 coupled BIC model and FLUKA code well reproduce the experimental results. INCLXX model underestimates the experimental results above 60 MeV. BERT model bad reproduces the experimental results. Overall, the neutronic calculations with the Geant4 code coupled INCLXX model and FLUKA code for the ADS spallation target is reasonable and reliable.  相似文献

When a gas sample of 13CH3F is prepared with a population of isomers (ortho and para forms) far from the equilibrium given by nuclear spin statistics, it relaxes towards this equilibrium with an exponential decay rate. This phenomenon called nuclear spin conversion is mainly governed by intramolecular spin-spin and spin-rotation interactions. In the quantum relaxation model [P.L. Chapovsky, Phys. Rev. A 43, 3624 (1991)], two pairs of ortho-para levels (J = 9, K = 3; J' = 11, K' = 1) and (J = 20, K = 3; J' = 21, K' = 1) are principally responsible for the conversion. The levels of the second pair are coupled by both spin-spin and spin-rotation interactions. The application of an electric field (up to 10 kV/cm) induces a crossing of the Stark components of this pair, which is observed for the first time. A specific experimental set-up based on an electric field of alternating triangular shape is used, which allows the determination of the strength of both interactions via the measurement of the spin conversion decay rates. This work yields the first experimental value for the electronic contribution to the spin-rotation interaction in 13CH3F. New and precise experimental results on Drell-Yan pair production at accelerator energies are now available, both in π? andp-nucleus interactions. These data are analyzed within the QCD framework including soft gluon resummation. It is shown that a quantitative agreement of the theory with experimental data can be reasonably managed. In particular, the soft gluon resummation is shown to build up nicely the so-calledK-factor. The pion formfactor is deduced from experimental data, but is rather sensitive to the nuclear structure functions we use. Definite nuclear structure functions are needed.  相似文献

Resonant laser excitation and ionisation is one of the most successful tools for the selective production of radioactive ion beams (RIB) at on-line mass separator facilities. TRIUMF plans to augment the current ion sources with a resonant ionisation laser ion source (RILIS), to use the high production yields from the target, as shown by the delivery of 3*104/s 11Li ions from a standard target ion source with surface ionisation. The development and installation of TRIUMF's RILIS (TRILIS) is necessary to provide beams of short lived isotopes that conventional ion sources could not produce in sufficient intensity and purity for nuclear-, and nuclear astrophysics- experiments. A laser system consisting of three tunable titanium–sapphire (TiSa) lasers with frequency doubling and tripling was employed to demonstrate first off-line resonance ionisation of Ga, and is being installed for first on-line test and a run on 62Ga in December 2004.  相似文献

The electron-spin resonance (ESR) line of delocalised electrons shifts upon saturation due to the hyperfine interaction with the dynamically polarized nuclear spins. The 29 Si part of the Overhauser shift of the ESR line of phosphorus doped silicon (Si:P) is separated in the concentration range 2.7 ... 7.3×10 18 / cm 3 covering the metal-insulator transition. The Overhauser shift profiles, recorded versus 29 Si nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) frequency, are asymmetric. Their dependence on temperature and ESR saturation compares reasonably with simulations. Time and NMR frequency dependence of the dynamic nuclear polarization is studied in detail. No pronounced variation of the 29 Si Overhauser shift profiles with P concentration is observed, but the maximum value of the shift profile decreases with increasing P concentration. In contrast to standard 29 Si NMR results, these measurements reveal the behaviour of the 29 Si nuclei close to the P doping sites. Received 8 November 2001  相似文献

Abstract

Nuclear techniques (Rutherford back-scattering and nuclear reactions) appear very useful in the near surface analysis of glass. These techniques offer a non-destructive method of analysis, with high depth resolution without radiation effects induced by the ion beam.

In this paper we present some experimental results concerning the analysis of glass surfaces obtained by different treatments. Initially the water vapour attack kinetics was investigated with the 23Na(ρ, α)20Ne nuclear reaction. Measurements were performed on three different flat glasses obtained by different industrial processes.

Another aspect of particular importance from both scientific and applied viewpoints is the kinetics of the surface reaction and diffusion processes occurring in silicate glasses. In particular the Na+?K+ interdiffusion has been investigated with the RBS technique at different temperatures in aluminosilicate and borosilicate glasses.

Finally, a technological aspect of great interest is connected to the optical properties modification when glasses are covered with different types of coatings. RBS analysis allows helpful information about elemental composition of the coatings and their depth distribution. In many cases it is possible to obtain the stoichiometric composition and the thickness when atomic density is known.  相似文献

We briefly reviewed the experimental study on β-delayed proton decays near the proton drip line published by our group during the period of 1996–2004, namely the first observation of the β-delayed proton decays of 9 new nuclides in the rare-earth region and the new measurements of β-delayed proton decays of 5 nuclides in the mass ∼90 region near theN=Z line with the aid of the “p-y” coincidence in combination with a He-jet tape transport system. In the meantime some important experimental technique details were supplemented. The experimental results, including the half-lives, spins, parities, deformations and production reaction cross sections for the 14 nuclei were summarized and compared with the current nuclear-model predictions, and then the following points were represented. (1) The experimental half-lives for85Mo and92Rh as well as the predicted “waiting point” nuclei89Ru and93Pd are 5–10 times longer than the theoretical predictions given by M?ller et al. using a macroscopic-microscopic model. It considerably influences the predictions of the abundances of the nuclides produced in the rp-process. (2) The current-model predictions are not consistent with the experimental assignments of the spins and parities for the proton drip-line nuclei142Ho and128Pm. However, the nuclear potential energy surface (PES) calculated by using a Woods-Saxon-Strutinsky method reproduced the experimental results. (3) The Alice code overestimated the production reaction cross sections of the studied 9 rare-earth nuclei by one order of magnitude or two, while HIVAP code overestimated them by one order of magnitude approximately.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We compare a recently proposed mixed experimental/theoretical procedure for the derivation of molecular equilibrium structures with several commonly used spectroscopic approaches using experimental data for several isotopologues. We also examine the sensitivity of the results from these approaches to the replacement of the commonly employed atomic masses with nuclear masses. This point is of particular importance for ionic species like HCO+ and HOC+ which serve as numerical reference cases. The scatter of molecular equilibrium geometries derived by different approaches is found to exceed stated statistical uncertainties by about an order of magnitude.  相似文献

We have carried out 115In nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements in CeRhIn5. At ambient pressure, CeRhIn5 undergoes an antiferromagnetic AF phase transition at K. The 115In NQR spectrum has shown the appearance of a small internal field in the direction perpendicular to the tetragonal c-axis. With application of a hydrostatic pressure, the AF state is suppressed and the superconductivity appears just above the critical pressure (P = 17 kbar). The nuclear spin lattice relaxation rate 1/T1 of 115In measured at P = 27 kbar indicates the occurrence of the superconductivity in the nearly AF region. In the superconducting state, 1/T1 has no Hebel-Slichter coherence peak just below of 2 K and has a power law T-dependence (T3) down to 300 mK. This is consistent with anisotropic superconductivity, with line nodes in the superconducting energy gap: non-s-wave superconductivity occurs in CeRhIn5. Received 5 July 2000  相似文献

Review of the experimental results on the search for and the spectroscopy of the superheavy hydrogen isotopes 4–7H obtained in stopped π?-meson absorption by 9Be and 11Be nuclei is presented. Study of light neutron-rich nuclei is a principal line in developing modern views on the properties of nuclear forces and determination of nuclear properties near the drip line. The present method of investigation relies on precision measurements of energy of charged particles emitted after pion absorption by nuclei. Important advantages of this method are the practically accurate initial state energy and momentum, as well as the possibility to study a wide range of excitation energy. In the frames of this method new results were obtained on level structures of the isotopes 4–6H and indications on 7H production. Comparison with other experimental and theoretical results is performed.  相似文献

Absolute cross sections of the reactions 92Mo(n, 2n)91m,91gMo, 92Mo(n, p)92Nb and 92Mo(n, α)89m, 89gZr, relative cross sections of the reaction 90Zr(n, 2n) 89mZr and isomer ratios of the 90Zr(n, 2n) reaction have been measured in the neutron energy range 13–15 MeV. The results for the (n, 2n) reactions are in good agreement with those of the previous studies. The present results for the (n, p) and (n, α) reactions are in disagreement with the previous works. The experimental data are analysed by the statistical model to determine the level-density parameter a, the moment of inertia ? and the strength of the γ-ray transition Sl in order to simultaneously reproduce the experimental data on the excitation function and the isomer ratio in the (n, 2n) reaction. The γ-ray competition, the yrast level and the experimental information on the excited levels of the residual nucleus in the (n, 2n) reaction are taken into account. The obtained values of a, ? and Sl are consistent with those deduced from other types of nuclear data.  相似文献

In this paper, we report our measurements of back-angle oxygen and carbon particle yields from 16O+89Y, 12C+93Nb reactions forming the same compound nucleus 105Ag at the same excitation energy and spin distribution. We find anomalously large oxygen yield and entrance channel dependence at high excitation energies from 16O+89Y reaction implying formation of a dinuclear orbiting complex. Possible connection between nuclear orbiting and fast fission is also discussed.  相似文献
