DEXA (dual-energy X-ray absorption) is widely used in airport scanners, industrial scanners and bone densitometers. DEXA determines the properties of materials by measuring the absorption differences of X-rays from a bremsstrahlung tube source with and without filtering. Filtering creates a beam with a higher mean energy, which causes lower material absorption. The absorption difference between measurements (those with a filter subtracted from those without a filter) is a positive number that increases with the effective atomic number of the material. In this paper, the concept of using a filter to create a dual beam and an absorption difference in materials is applied to radiation from a 252Cf source, called NEUDEG (neutron and dual-energy gamma absorption). NEUDEG includes absorptions for fast neutrons as well as the dual photon beams and thus an incentive for developing the method is that, unlike DEXA, it is inherently sensitive to the hydrogen content of materials. In this paper, a model for the absorption difference and absorption sum in NEUDEG is presented using the combined gamma ray and fast neutron mass attenuation coefficients. Absorption differences can be either positive or negative in NEUDEG, increasing with increases in the effective atomic number and decreasing with increases in the hydrogen content. Sample sets of absorption difference curves are calculated for materials with typical gamma-ray and fast neutron mass attenuation coefficients. The model, which uses tabulated mass attenuated coefficients, agrees with experimental data for porcelain tiles and polyethylene sheets. The effects of “beam hardening” are also investigated.  相似文献

后向散射系数是遥感传感器获取水体信息的来源,也是生物光学模型的重要输入参数。利用太湖春季和秋季实测数据,在生物光学模型的基础上结合光学闭合原理模拟了太湖春、秋季节水体颗粒物后向散射系数,进而分析了其光谱特性及颗粒物后向散射概率的时空变化。结果表明,太湖春、秋季节水体颗粒物后向散射系数与总悬浮物、无机悬浮物浓度均具有较高的相关性,而与有机悬浮物浓度的相关性则相对较低,颗粒物后向散射系数随波长变化指数n在太湖春季水体中的变化范围为0.66~1.84,平均值为1.29±0.25,而在太湖秋季水体中的变化范围为0.67~2.40,平均值为1.24±0.34;太湖春季水体颗粒物平均后向散射概率为0.030,而太湖秋季水体颗粒物平均后向散射概率为0.031,且无论是太湖春季水体还是太湖秋季水体,其颗粒物后向散射概率的波长依赖性均较弱。模拟吸收系数与实测吸收系数吻合较好,总体的平均相对误差均在18%以内。  相似文献

The kinetics of Ni2Si growth from pure Ni and from Ni0.93V0.07 films on (111) and (100) silicon has been studied by the combination of He+ backscattering, x-ray diffraction, Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. The activation energies are 1.5 and 1.0 eV for pure Ni and Ni(V) films, respectively while the pre-exponential factors in Ni(V) are 4–5 orders of magnitude smaller than in the pure Ni case. The variations in the measured rates are related to the different grain size of the growing suicide layers. The vanadium is rejected from the silicide layer and piles up at the metalsilicide interface.  相似文献

We have studied IR absorption spectra (within the spectral range of 4000-200 cm−1 of the intracomplex chelate compounds Ni(II) bis-acetylacetonate, Ni(II) bis-ketoiminate, and Ni(II) bis-trifluoroacetylacetonate and have given a full interpretation and comparison of the spectra of these compounds in dissolved and solid states. The reasons for the differences in the spectra are discussed. The molar coefficients of extinction for the absorption bands are calculated. 在自主研制的便携式双视场米散射气溶胶激光雷达(DFOV激光雷达)基础上,探索双视场激光雷达信号拼接思路,利用“斜率-Fernald”方法反演了气溶胶水平消光系数,进而获取了DFOV激光雷达对气溶胶水平消光系数的扫描分布。首先,对雷达回波信号分段运用斜率法,求解最优的气溶胶消光系数、后向散射系数以及相对应的参考距离,然后将该参考点处的后向散射系数代入“Fernald方法”的前后向积分解中,进而得到整条廓线的消光系数。该方法有效避免了“斜率法”中大气均匀的前提假设和消光系数负值的问题,也有效避免了“Fernald方法”对参考点的限制和要求。在获取水平消光系数后,通过拟合近地面空气质量监测点位过顶时刻DFOV激光雷达测量的气溶胶消光系数与PM10质量浓度ρ(PM10)之间的关系,相关性达到0.91。将此定量关系传递至激光雷达扫描的消光系数结果中,可得到气溶胶质量浓度的水平分布,定量反演大气中颗粒物的分布,用于研究近地面大气污染成因、机理和污染来源分析,为DFOV激光雷达进一步应用于城市区域大气污染定量评价和区域空气质量三维模式同化分析研究提供定量的数据支撑。  相似文献

Based on the Schr ¨odinger equation for envelope function in the effective mass approximation, linear and nonlinear optical absorption coefficients in a multi-subband lens quantum dot are investigated. The effects of quantum dot size on the interband and intraband transitions energy are also analyzed. The finite element method is used to calculate the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. Strain and In-mole-fraction effects are also studied, and the results reveal that with the decrease of the In-mole fraction, the amplitudes of linear and nonlinear absorption coefficients increase. The present computed results show that the absorption coefficients of transitions between the first excited states are stronger than those of the ground states. In addition, it has been found that the quantum dot size affects the amplitudes and peak positions of linear and nonlinear absorption coefficients while the incident optical intensity strongly affects the nonlinear absorption coefficients.  相似文献

Changes in magnetic and structural properties of 60–82 nm iron films induced by heavy-ion implantation were studied using the magneto-optical Kerr effect, M?ssbauer spectroscopy, Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray absorption fine structure. The influence of ion-beam parameters (ion mass, fluence) and of sample parameters (external magnetic field and stress during implantation) were investigated. The Fe films, some of them containing a thin 57Fe marker layer for M?ssbauer spectroscopy, were deposited on Si(100) substrates, by electron-beam and effusion-cell evaporation. The films were irradiated with 20Ne, 56Fe, 86Kr and 132Xe ions at energies chosen so that the implantation profiles peaked near the middle of the Fe films. The as-deposited films were magnetically isotropic and had a high coercivity. After ion implantation, the coercivity decreased and magnetic anisotropy developed. Both changes correlated with a decrease in the internal film stress. External mechanical stress applied during the irradiation had hardly any influence on the magnetic texture, opposite to an external magnetic field applied during or before ion implantation. The results are compared with those obtained for ion-irradiated polycrystalline Ni films and epitaxial Fe films and discussed with respect to the role of radiation-induced extended defects as pinning centers.  相似文献

Quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) have attracted considerable interest as an alternative tuneable narrow bandwidth light source in the mid-infrared spectral range for chemical sensing. Pulsed QCL spectrometers are often used with short laser pulses and a bias current ramp similar to diode laser spectroscopy. Artefacts in the recorded spectra such as disturbed line shapes or underestimated absorption coefficients have been reported. A detailed time-resolved high-bandwidth analysis of individual pulses during a laser sweep has been performed. Quantitative results for CH4 absorption features around 1347 cm−1 (7.42 μm) fell short of the expected values for reasonable operating conditions of the QCL. The origin of the artefacts using short pulses was identified to be partly of the same nature as in the case of long laser pulses. A complex combination with the tuning principle was found, leading to an apparently increased instrumental broadening (effective line width) and underestimated concentrations at low-pressure conditions.  相似文献

Noisy structure of optical coherence tomography (OCT) images of turbid medium contains information about spatial variations of its optical parameters. We propose analytical model of statistical characteristics of OCT signal fluctuations from turbid medium with spatially inhomogeneous coefficients of absorption and backscattering. Analytically predicted correlation characteristics of OCT signal from spatially inhomogeneous medium are in good agreement with the results of correlation analysis of OCT images of different biological tissues. The proposed model can be efficiently applied for quantitative evaluation of statistical properties of absorption and backscattering fluctuations basing on correlation characteristics of OCT images.  相似文献

Expressions are derived for the penetration fractions due to plane sources taking into consideration the diameter and effective thickness of the detector. The structure and composition of nanocomposite nc-TiC/a-C:H thin films prepared by closed-field unbalanced reactive magnetron sputtering in an argon-acetylene atmosphere have been investigated. The concentrations of carbon and heavier elements have been obtained by Rutherford backscattering and nuclear backscattering. The hydrogen concentration in the films has been determined by elastic recoil detection analysis. Based on the data obtained, a scheme has been proposed to evaluate the C:H matrix mass density and the sp 3 and sp 2 fractions in the matrix.  相似文献

Measurements are presented of the sound absorption of two factory machines. Their third octave absorption, between 160 Hz and 5 kHz, is in the range 0.5–2.6 m2.Measurements of reverberation time (RT) and/or sound propagation (SP) in four factories with panel roofs, when empty and/or fitted, are also presented. The general characteristics of RT and SP in such factories, and the factors that influence them, are discussed in the light of the results. Fittings reduce the RT and large-distance SP levels in proportion to their volume density and to the absorption of the panel roof. Levels near a source can increase due to backscattering. Preferentially orientated fitting arrangements do not significantly affect the variation of SP with direction in a factory.The effect of roof pitch on factory SP is complicated. Large distance levels are generally lowest in the direction across the roof pitches.  相似文献

The electronic and optical properties of undoped and Ni–doped ZnO thin films with nanometer scale have been studied in the wurtzite phase, by first–principle approach. Density functional theory has been employed to calculate the fundamental properties of the films using full–potential linearized augmented plane–wave method. Ni doping was found to reduce the bandgap value of the material. Additionally, DOS effective mass of the electrons was evaluated. It was revealed that the effective mass of the electrons at the bottom of conduction band increased with Ni doping. Decrease of reflectance for thin films with nanometer scale in the UV–vis region was observed. The substitution by Ni decreased the intensity of the peaks, and a red shift was observed in the absorption peak. Moreover, the static dielectric constant, and static refractive index decreased with Ni content. Energy loss function of the modeled compounds was also evaluated. All calculated parameters were compared with the available experimental and other theoretical results.  相似文献

Room temperature measurements of self-, air-, and oxygen-broadening coefficients are reported for 101 pure rotational absorption lines for 16O3 covering a range of 7≤J″≤34 and 3≤K−1″≤11 in the spectral region 50 to 90 cm. In addition, the temperature dependence of the coefficients has been determined for most of these lines. A total of 14 high-resolution Fourier transform far-IR spectra (0.004 cm resolution) of ozone/air/dioxygen mixtures were recorded at various temperatures (212, 252, and 296 K). The broadening coefficients and corresponding temperature exponents were deduced by analyzing all of the 14 spectra simultaneously for each absorption line using a nonlinear least-squares fitting technique. Several sources of systematic errors were taken into account: the values of the partial pressures of the species involved, the value of the total optical path length, the sample temperature, thermal emission from sources other than the spectrometer source (e.g., sample emission), the effect of convolution with the instrument function, and intensity contributions from weak and neighbouring absorption lines. The variation of the determined broadening coefficients and temperature exponents with the rotational quantum numbers J″ and K−1″ has been examined. Furthermore the determined pressure-broadening parameters have been compared to the data reported in the 2000 edition of the HITRAN compilation.  相似文献

The total mass attenuation coefficients for element Fe and compounds FeF3, Fe2O3, FeCl2·4H2O, FeCl32NH4Cl·H2O were measured at different energies between 4.508-17.443 keV range by using secondary excitation method. Ti, V, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Se, Br, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb, Mo were chosen as secondary exciter. 59.5 keV gamma rays emitted from an 241Am annular source were used to excite secondary exciter and Kα(K-L3, L2) lines emitted of secondary exciter were counted by a Si(Li) detector with a resolution of 160 eV at 5.9 keV. It was observed that mixture rule method is not a suitable method for determination of the mass attenuation coefficients of compounds, especially at energy that is near the absorption edge. The theory of preferred orientation determination (crystallographic- or spintexture) by Mössbauer effect is presented for the case of unpolarized and polarized source radiation. The maximum information one can get out from Mössbauer measurements for the case of dipole radiation (M1) are nine expansion coefficients of the texture distribution expanded in a series of spherical harmonics. These coefficients can be obtained by a fitting procedure of the experimentally determined line intensity ratios in an absorption spectrum with rotated source and absorber. The general theory is applied for M1 radiation (Fe57) and the cases of pure Zeeman or quadrupole splitting of source and absorber. Extension to higher multipole radiation can be easily done.
