The influence of different M2+ cations on the effective magnetic anisotropy of systems composed of MFe2O4 (M=Fe, Co and Mn) nanoparticles was investigated. Samples were prepared by the high-temperature (538 K) solution phase reaction of Fe (acac)3, Co (acac)2 and Mn (acac)2 with 1,2 octanodiol in the presence of oleic acid and oleylamine. The final particles are coated by an organic layer of oleic acid that prevents agglomeration. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images show that particles present near spherical form and a narrow grain size distribution, with mean diameters in the range of 4.5–7.6 nm. Powder samples were analyzed by ac susceptibility and Mössbauer measurements, and Keff for all samples was evaluated using both techniques, showing a strong dependence on the nature of the divalent cation.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline (Nd,Dy)16(Fe,Co)76−xTixB8 magnets were prepared by mechanical alloying and respective heat treatment at 973–1073 K/30–60 min. An addition of 0.5 at % of Ti results in an increase of coercivity from 796 to 1115 kA m−1. Partial substitution of Nd by Dy results in an additional increase of coercivity up to 1234 kA m−1. Mössbauer investigations shows that for x?1 the (Nd,Dy)16(Fe,Co)76−xTixB8 powders are single phase. For higher Ti contents (x>1) the mechanically alloyed powders heat treated at 973 K are no more single phase, and the coercivity decreases due to the presence of an amorphous phase. A heat treatment at a higher temperature (1073 K) for longer time (1 h) results in the full recrystallisation of powders. The mean hyperfine field of the Nd2Fe14B phase decreases for titanium contents of 0?x?1, and remains constant for x>1. This indicates that the Ti content in the Nd2Fe14B phase reaches its maximum value.  相似文献

Cobalt-substituted ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized with a narrow size distribution using reverse micelles formed in the system water/AOT/isooctane. Fe:Co ratios of 3:1, 4:1, and 5:1 were used in the synthesis, obtaining cobalt-substituted ferrites (CoxFe3−xO4) and some indication of γ-Fe3O4 when 4:1 and 5:1 Fe:Co ratios were used. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) verified the presence of cobalt in all samples. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) showed bands at ∼560 and ∼400 cm−1, characteristic of the metal–oxygen bond in ferrites. Transmission electron microscopy showed that the number median diameter of the particles was ∼3 nm with a geometric deviation of ∼0.2. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed the inverse spinel structure typical of ferrites with a lattice parameter of a=8.388 Å for Co0.61Fe0.39O4, which is near that of CoFe2O4 (a=8.394 Å). Magnetic properties were determined using a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID). Coercivities higher than 8 kOe were observed at 5 K, whereas at 300 K the particles showed superparamagnetic behavior. The anisotropy constant was determined based on the Debye model for a magnetic dipole in an oscillating field and an expression relating χ′ and the temperature of the in-phase susceptibility peak. Anisotropy constant values in the order of ∼106 erg/cm3 were determined using the Debye model, whereas anisotropy constants in the order of ∼107 erg/cm3 were calculated assuming Ωτ=1 at the temperature peak of the in-phase component of the susceptibility curve as commonly done in the literature. Our analysis demonstrates that the assumption Ωτ=1 at the temperature peak of χ′ is rigorously incorrect.  相似文献

Two methods—the solid-phase high-temperature (1300 °C) and the liquid-phase low-temperature (750 °C) routes—were used to synthesize the complex oxide La1.25Sr0.75MnCoO6, which has the structure of rhombohedral perovskite and is characterized by a disordered distribution of Mn and Co in structural sites. It was found by means of X-ray absorption near edge spectroscopy (XANES) at the K-edge that mixed valence states of Co2+/Co3+ and Mn3+/Mn4+, exist in both phases. Measurements of dc magnetization and real (χ′) and imaginary (χ″) parts of the ac susceptibility showed that the magnetic properties of these oxides are determined by a ferromagnetic transition at TC=217 K and a frequency-dependent transition at Tg<100 K. The high frequency dependence of Tg is indicative of the cluster-glass behavior of La1.25Sr0.75MnCoO6 (7 5 0) at T<TC within the ferromagnetic state.  相似文献

Li0.5Fe2.5−xMnxO4 (0≦x≦1.0) powders with small and uniformly sized particles were successfully synthesized by microwave-induced combustion, using lithium nitrate, ferric nitrate, manganese nitrate and carbohydrazide as the starting materials. The process takes only a few minutes to obtain as-received Mn-substituted lithium ferrite powders. The resultant powders annealed at 650 °C for 2 h and were investigated by thermogravimeter/differential thermal analyzer (TG/DTA), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), and thermomagnetic analysis (TMA). The results revealed that the Mn content were strongly influenced the magnetic properties and Curie temperature of Mn-substituted lithium ferrite powder. As for sintered Li0.5Fe2.5−xMnxO4 specimens, substituting an appropriate amount of Mn for Fe in the Li0.5Fe2.5−xMnxO4 specimens markedly improved the complex permeability and loss tangent.  相似文献

Temperature and field-dependent magnetization measurements on polycrystalline CeMnCuSi2 reveal that the Mn moments in this compound exhibit ordering with a ferromagnetic (FM) component ordered instead of the previously reported purely antiferromagnetic (AFM) ordering. The FM ordering temperature, Tc, is about 120 K and almost unchanged with external fields up to 50 kOe. Furthermore, an AFM component (such as in a canted spin structure) is observed to be present in this phase, and its orientation is modified rapidly by the external magnetic field. The Ce L3-edge X-ray absorption result shows that the Ce ions in this compound are nearly trivalent, very similar to that in the heavy fermion system CeCu2Si2. Large thermomagnetic irreversibility is observed between the zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled (FC) M(T) curves below Tc indicating strong magnetocrystalline anisotropy in the ordered phase. At 5 K, a metamagnetic-type transition is observed to occur at a critical field of about 8 kOe, and this critical field decreases with increasing temperature. The FM ordering of the Mn moments in CeMnCuSi2 is consistent with the value of the intralayer Mn–Mn distance RaMn–Mn=2.890 Å, which is greater than the critical value 2.865 Å for FM ordering. Finally, a magnetic phase diagram is constructed for CeMnCuSi2.  相似文献

We synthesized the Mn-doped Mg(In2−xMnx)O4 oxides with 0.03?x?0.55 using a solid-state reaction method. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the samples were in a good agreement with that of a distorted orthorhombic spinel phase. Their lattice parameters and unit-cell volumes decrease with x due to the substitution of the smaller Mn3+ ions to the larger In3+ ions. The undoped MgIn2O4 oxide presents diamagnetic signals for 5 K?T?300 K. The M(H) at T=300 K reveals a fairly negative-sloped linear relationship. Neither magnetic hysteresis nor saturation behavior was observed in this parent sample. For the Mn-doped samples, however, positive magnetization were observed between 5 and 300 K even if the x value is as low as 0.03. The mass susceptibility enhances with Mn content and it reaches the highest value of 1.4×10−3 emu/g Oe (at T=300 K) at x=0.45. Furthermore, the Mn-doped oxides with x=0.06 and 0.2, respectively, exhibit nonlinear magnetization curves and small hysteretic loops in low magnetic fields. Susceptibilities of the Mn-doped samples are much higher than those of MnO2, Mn2O3 oxides, and Mn metals. These results show that the oxides have potential to be magnetic semiconductors.  相似文献

The effect of crystal structures on texture induced by hot plastic deformation was studied for Sm-Co, Sm-Zr-Co, Sm-Zr-Co-Fe and Sm-Co-Fe-Mn nanocrystalline alloys with 9-22 at% Sm. Nanocrystalline precursors were obtained via high-energy ball milling and subsequent hot consolidation; deformation was carried out at 800-1150 °C. The analysis of X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements showed that the degree of the axial [0 0 1] texture after deformation was negligible for the ordered 2:17 structure, but became increasingly noticeable for the disordered 2:17 (“1:7”), 1:5 and 2:7 structures. Because of interplay of several factors including the [0 0 1] texture, saturation magnetization and magnetocrystalline anisotropy, there was no universal trend in the hard magnetic properties with the Sm content. Optimum compositions for the maximum energy product varied from Sm11(Co, Fe, Mn)89 in the Sm-Co-Fe-Mn series to Sm11Zr2(Co, Fe)87 in the Sm-Zr-Co-Fe series to Sm17(Co, Fe)83 in the Sm-Co-(Fe) series. Iron substitution for cobalt strongly suppresses the 1:5 structure, whereas the Fe-free magnets based on the SmCo5 compound showed by far the highest room-temperature coercivity.  相似文献

Ferromagnetic Ga1−xMnxAs layers (where x=1.4-3.0%) grown on (1 0 0) GaAs substrates by molecular beam epitaxy were characterized using Raman spectroscopy. As Mn is introduced into GaAs, a marked increase in disorder in the material occurs, as indicated by the growth of the disorder-allowed transverse-optical Raman line. Another important result is that as the Mn concentration in Ga1−xMnxAs increases further beyond ca. 2%, Raman-active coupled-plasmon-longitudinal-optical phonon modes arise, which signals the increasing presence of holes, and thus provides a useful tool for determining their concentration. Using the depletion-layer approach from the Raman spectroscopy data, we determined the carrier concentration for samples with x=2.2% and 3.0% was to be 7.2×1019 and 8.3×1020 cm−3, respectively.  相似文献

Polycrystalline Mn2VGa samples were synthesized using an arc furnace. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern was analyzed using General Structural Analysis System (GSAS) package and the refined lattice parameter was found to be 5.905 Å. We found magnetic ordering in the system below 783 K and the spontaneous magnetization was observed to be following the Bloch T3/2 law below 80 K. The magnetic moment per formula unit at 5 K was observed to be 1.88 μB. The temperature variation of the electrical resistance was found to follow the relation Rn=R0n+aTα (α=1.616) and (Rn—normalized electrical resistance) in the temperature range of 25–300 K and we observed almost a temperature independent variation of the electrical resistance below 25 K indicating the absence of spin-flip scattering.  相似文献

Co-doped TiO2 films were fabricated under different conditions using reactive facing-target magnetron sputtering. Co doping improves the transformation of TiO2 from anatase phase to rutile phase. The chemical valence of doped Co in the films is +2. All the films are ferromagnetic with a Curie temperature above 340 K. The average room-temperature moment per Co of the Co-doped TiO2 films fabricated at 1.86 Pa decreases from 0.74 μB at x=0.03 to 0.02 μB at x=0.312, and decreases from 0.54 to 0.04 μB as x increases from 0.026 to 0.169 for the Co-doped TiO2 films fabricated at 0.27 Pa. The ferromagnetism originates from the oxygen vacancies created by Co2+ dopants at Ti4+ cations. The optical band gaps value (Eg) of the Co-doped TiO2 films fabricated at 1.86 Pa decreases linearly from 3.35 to 2.62 eV with the increasing x from 0 to 0.312. For the Co-doped TiO2 films fabricated at 1.86 Pa, the Eg decreases linearly from 3.26 to 2.53 eV with increasing x from 0 to 0.350.  相似文献

The structural and magnetic properties of Mn substituted Ni0.50−xMnxZn0.50Fe2O4 (where x=0.00, 0.10 and 0.20) sintered at various temperatures have been investigated thoroughly. The lattice parameter, average grain size and initial permeability increase with Mn substitution. Both bulk density and initial permeability increase with increasing sintering temperature from 1250 to 1300 °C and above 1300 °C they decrease. The Ni0.30Mn0.20Zn0.50Fe2O4 sintered at 1300 °C shows the highest relative quality factor and highest initial permeability among the studied samples. The initial permeability strongly depends on average grain size and intragranular porosity. From the magnetization as a function of applied magnetic field, M(H), it is clear that at room temperature all samples are in ferrimagnetic state. The number of Bohr magneton, n(μB), and Neel temperature, TN, decrease with increasing Mn substitution. It is found that Mn substitution in Ni0.50−xMnxZn0.50Fe2O4 (where x=0.20) decreases the Neel temperature by 25% but increases the initial permeability by 76%. Possible explanation for the observed characteristics of microstructure, initial permeability, DC magnetization and Neel temperature of the studied samples are discussed.  相似文献

We have investigated the magnetic, electrical transport and electron spin resonance (ESR) properties of polycrystalline Fe-doped manganite LaMn0.7Fe0.3O3+δ prepared by sol–gel method. A typical cluster-glass feature is presented by DC magnetization and AC susceptibility measurements and a sharp but shallow memory effect was observed. Symmetrical Lorentzian lines of the Mn/Fe spectra were detected above 120 K, where the sample is a paramagnetic (PM) insulator. When the temperature decreases from 120 K, magnetic clusters contributed from ferromagnetic (FM) interaction between Mn3+ and Mn3+/Fe3+ ions develop and coexist with PM phase. At lower temperature, these FM clusters compete with antiferromagnetic (AFM) ones between Fe3+ ions, which are associated with a distinct field-cooled (FC) effect in characteristic of cluster-glass state.  相似文献

Ni80Fe20 permalloy nanoparticles (NPs) have been prepared by the polyol processing at 180 °C for 2 h and their particle sizes can be precisely controlled in the size range of 20-440 nm by proper addition of K2PtCl4 agent. X-ray diffraction results show that the Ni-Fe NPs are of FCC structure, and a homogeneous composition and a narrow size distribution of these NPs have been confirmed by scanning electron microscopy assisted with energy dispersion spectroscopy of X-ray (SEM-EDX). The saturation magnetization of ~440nm NPs is 80.8 emu/g that is comparable to that of bulk Ni80Fe20 alloys, but it decreases to 28.7 emu/g for ~20 nm NPs. The coercive force decreases from 90 to 3 Oe with decreasing NP size. The wide range of particle size is exploited to seek for high permeability composite particles. The planar type samples composed of the NiFe NPs exhibit low initial permeability due to the deteriorated magnetic softness and low packing density. However, when they are mixed with Fe micron particles, the initial permeability significantly increases depending on the mixing ratio and the NiFe NP size. A maximum initial permeability is achieved to be ~9.1 at 1 GHz for the Fe-10 vol%NiFe (~20 nmΦ), which is about three times that of pure Fe micron particles. The effects of Ni-Fe particle size, volume percentage and solvent on the static and dynamic permeability are discussed.  相似文献

Structural, AC and DC magnetic properties of polycrystalline Zn1−xCoxFe2O4 (x=0.2, 0.4) samples sintered at various temperatures (1100-1300 °C), and various dwell times (0.2-15 h) have been investigated thoroughly. The bulk density of the Zn0.60Co0.40Fe2O4 samples increases as the sintering temperature (Ts) increases from 1100 to 1250 °C, and above 1250 °C the bulk density decreases slightly. The Zn0.80Co0.20Fe2O4 samples show similar behavior of changes to that of Zn0.60Co0.40Fe2O4 samples except that the bulk density is found to be highest at 1200 °C. The DC magnetization as a function of temperature curves show that the Zn0.60Co0.40Fe2O4 sample is ferrimagnetic at room temperature while the Zn0.80Co0.20Fe2O4 sample is paramagnetic at room temperature. The Tc of Zn0.80Co0.20Fe2O4 sample is found to be 170 K from DC magnetization measurement. Separate measurement (AC magnetization), initial permeability as a function of temperature shows that the Tc of the Zn0.60Co0.40Fe2O4 sample is 353 K. Slight variation of Tc is observed depending on sintering condition. The initial permeability for the Zn0.60Co0.40Fe2O4 composition sintered at 1250 °C is found to be maximum.  相似文献

The temperature and field dependent magnetic properties of melt-spun amorphous Fe89−xyZr11Bx(Co,Mn)y (x=5, 10 and 0≤y≤10) alloys in the temperature range 5-1200 K are reported. The Curie temperature and saturation magnetization at room temperature increase (decrease) almost linearly with Co (Mn) addition. With increasing Co concentration, the room temperature coercivity increases at the rate of 2.26 (0.28) A/m per at% for the x=5 (10) samples. The high-field magnetic susceptibility and local magnetic anisotropy decrease (increases) rapidly with increasing Co (Mn) concentration. The thermomagnetic curves show a marked increase in magnetization above 850 K corresponding to the crystallization of α-FeCo (α-Fe) phase in samples containing Co (Mn). The Curie temperature of the crystalline phase increases (remains same) with increasing Co (Mn) concentration with the formation of α-FeCo (α-Fe). Addition of Co up to 10 at% in Fe-Zr-B improves the room temperature saturation magnetization from 0.56 to 1.2 T, and Curie temperature from 315 to 476 K. Also, the coercivity increases with Co addition from 1.27 to 23.88 A/m for x=5 and from 7.64 to 10.35 A/m for x=10 alloy. The non-collinear spin structures that characterize Fe rich Fe-Zr-B amorphous alloys have been used to describe the observed results.  相似文献

La0.8Sr0.2Co1−xFexO3 (x=0.15, 0.2, 0.3) samples were studied by means of AC magnetic susceptibility, magnetization, magnetoresistance and 57Fe Mössbauer spectrometry. Iron was found to take on a high spin 3d5−α electronic state in each of the samples, where α refers to a partly delocalized 3d electron. The compounds were found to exhibit a spin-cluster glass transition with a common transition temperature of ∼53 K. The spin-cluster glass transition is visualized in the 57Fe Mössbauer spectra as the slowing down of magnetic relaxation below ∼70 K, thereby showing that iron takes part in the formation of the glassy magnetic phase. The paramagnetic-like phase found at higher temperatures is identified below Tc≈195 K as being composed of weakly interacting, magnetically ordered nanosized clusters of magnetic ions in part with a magnetic moment oriented opposite to the net magnetic moment of the cluster. For each of the samples a considerable low-temperature negative magnetoresistance was found, whose magnitude in the studied range decreases with increasing iron concentration. The observed results obtained on the present compounds are qualitatively explained assuming that the absolute strengths of magnetic exchange interactions are subject to the relation ∣JCo–Co∣<∣JFe–Co∣<∣JFe–Fe∣.  相似文献

SmCoxTi0.4 (x=6.6, 7.1, 7.6, 8.1) ribbons have been prepared by melt spinning at a wheel speed of 42 m/s, followed by annealing at 750 °C for 2 h. Both as-spun and as-annealed ribbons possess the disordered TbCu7-type (1:7) phase even when the Sm/(Co,Ti) atomic ratio deviates from 1/7. The c/a ratio increases with increasing Co concentration x, but the unit cell volume decreases. The Curie temperatures show above 700 °C, increasing from 707 °C for x=6.6 to 782 °C for x=8.1. The saturation magnetizations increase almost linearly with increasing Co content. The observed magnetic hardening is believed to arise from the high magnetocrystalline anisotropy of the 1:7 phase and the fine nanograin structure. The intrinsic coercivity of 9797 Oe has been obtained in the melt-spun SmCo7.1Ti0.4 ribbons.  相似文献

Magnetic properties of Co nanoparticles of 1.8 nm diameter embedded in Mn and Ag matrices have been studied as a function of the volume fraction (VFF). While the Co nanoparticles in the Ag matrix show superparamagnetic behavior with TB=9.5 K (1.5% VFF) and TB=18.5 K (8.9% VFF), the Co nanoparticles in the antiferromagnetic Mn matrix show a transition peak at ∼65 K in the ZFC/FC susceptibility measurements, and an increase of the coercive fields at low temperature with respect to the Ag matrix. Exchange bias due to the interface exchange coupling between Co particles and the antiferromagnetic Mn matrix has also been studied. The exchange bias field (Heb), observed for all Co/Mn samples below 40 K, decreases with decreasing volume fraction and with increasing temperature and depends on the field of cooling (Hfc). Exchange bias is accompanied by an increase of coercivity.  相似文献

Fe doped ZnO powder samples (Fe/Zn=0.05 and 0.1) were prepared by sol-gel method with H2 deoxidation at 450 °C for several hours or just heated in air at the same temperature. It was showed by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) that samples heat treated in H2 could show strong ferromagnetism at room temperature while samples treated in air only show very weak magnetism. XRD using Co kα X-ray revealed that the samples heated in H2 were not pure phase but like a granular system and the magnetism mainly results from Fe3O4 in samples while samples heated in air showed pure ZnO phase. Our work indicated that H2 deoxidation treatment may be an effective technique to fabricate such magnetic semiconductor-like materials with Curie temperature higher than room temperature.  相似文献
