An all-fiber LD-clad-pumped Tm-doped fiber laser was reported, and the CW maximal output power reached 24 W at nearly 1.94 μm. The double-clad Tm-doped fiber had a demission of 25/250 μm with the core NA 0.1 and inner-clad NA 0.46. A matched passive multi-mode FBG acted as the front cavity. Cooling by the water, the 56% high slope efficiency was achieved and threshold was 6.4 W, respected to the launched pump power. At the low power pump, the fiber laser spectrum had only one peak at 1.936 μm. Increasing the launched pump power, the output laser wavelength grew to 3–4 peaks. Because the multi-mode FBG reflectivity was not very high, both ends of the fiber laser had laser output power, and the ratio was nearly 10:1.  相似文献

A diode-pumped Tm-doped double-clad fiber-optic amplifier is reported that provides up to 5 kW of peak power at pulse durations of 30 ns and a repetition rate of 33.5 kHz. When the repetition rate is increased to 123.6 kHz, the peak power drops to 1.5 kW, while the average output power of the amplifier stays at 6.5 W with a slope efficiency of 34.9%. As an amplifier the fiber can be saturated by a very low average launched input power of only 36 mW at 1.87 microm and yields the same average output power as in a fiber laser or amplified spontaneous emission source setup for all the repetition rates investigated. The peak powers reported are to the author's knowledge the highest generated by Tm-doped fiber lasers or amplifiers at repetition rates above 1 kHz with simultaneously short pulse durations of 30 ns.  相似文献

A Tm-doped double-clad fiber MOPA system is built. Amplification characteristics of a Tm-doped double-clad narrow linewidth fiber master oscillator (MO) are investigated both experimentally and numerically. Linewidth of the fiber MO is only 112 pm at 3 W output. The output and efficiency of the MOPA system increase with the injected seed power. When the seed power is increased to 2 W, a maximum output of 10.5 W is obtained with a slope efficiency of 41.5%. Spectral center of the output lies at 1996.7 nm with the linewidth no bigger than 120 pm throughout the experiment.  相似文献

The operation of a diode-pumped Tm-doped silica fiber laser that uses the cladding-pumping arrangement to produce high-power cw output at wavelengths near 2 microm is reported. We obtained a maximum output power of 5.4 W at a slope efficiency of 31% with respect to the launched pump power at a total optical-to-optical efficiency of 22%. The fiber-laser output wavelength was tuned between 1.880 and 2.033 microm by adjustment of the fiber length, with >4W of power obtainable from 1.94 to 2.01 microm. Self-pulsations detected in the output from the double-clad fiber laser may indicate the presence of ion-clustering effects.  相似文献

A ytterbium-doped double-clad fiber laser with more than 50-W output, near diffraction-limited is demonstrated in SIOM. The optical-to-optical efficiency is about 44% with respect to incident pump power and the slope efficiency is 69% against launched pump power.  相似文献

The side-coupler of angle polished method, using angle-polished multimode fiber and optical adhesive, is used to efficiently pump an Yb-doped double-clad fiber laser. The maximum coupling efficiency of 78.6% is achieved by the side-coupler for a multimode fiber with a circular core of 200 μm and a double-clad fiber with a 350/400 μm D-shaped inner cladding. While laser diodes (LDs) with three side-couplers are simultaneously used as pump sources, maximum output power of 1.38 W and slope efficiency of 48.9% are demonstrated in the fiber laser system.  相似文献

A diode-pumped Q-switched Tm-doped double-clad fluoride fiber laser is reported providing up to 90 microJ pulse energy (160 ns, 100 kHz, i.e., 9 W of average power). The dependence of the fiber laser's repetition rate on pump power and modulator repetition rate was investigated. By amplification even higher pulse energies of 410 microJ could be generated. In a second stage of the setup the Q-switched fiber laser serves as a pump for a gain-switched tunable Cr2+:ZnSe laser. The pulse energies reported are to the author's knowledge the highest generated by Tm-doped fluoride fiber lasers or amplifiers today.  相似文献

We report ultrashort, high-energy pulse generation from a side-pumped Yb-doped double-clad fiber laser. The laser is operating in the stretched-pulse regime. It directly generates 4.8-ps, 5-nJ pulses that are extracavity compressed to 90 fs.  相似文献

在研究掺Yb3+光纤激光器的实验中,发现伴生有可见区的荧光,用光谱仪测量发现该可见区荧光的波长分别为639.4 nm,520.7 nm,487 nm和474.8 nm,通过对比分析掺Yb3+光纤中杂质的能级结构,发现伴生的红、绿、蓝荧光由Yb3+与Pr3+合作产生,其荧光过程是由于Yb3+离子的能量转移给Pr3+,由Pr3+受激辐射产生的红、绿、蓝荧光.实验结果表明:掺Yb3+双包层光纤吸收泵浦光后产生的荧光是上转换的,这会导致光纤激光器激光能量转换效率的降低.  相似文献

We have designed and realized a cw all-fiber tunable Yb-doped double-clad fiber laser in a unidirectional ring cavity. The side-pumping V-groove technique is used, yielding very good launching efficiency of the high-power pumping laser diode, together with a compact configuration. The fiber laser delivers as much as 800 mW of power and is tunable in the spectral range 1.04-1.10 microm . The laser linewidth is ~0.1 nm .  相似文献

A high power double-clad ytterbium-doped large-mode-area photonic crystal fiber (LMA PCF) laser was demonstrated using a unique Fabry-Perot (F-P) configuration. The pump source is a fiber coupled diode array operating at 976 nm. A continuous wave (CW) output power of 50 W at ~ 1.04 μm with a slope efficiency of 76.3% is obtained. Single transverse mode operation is achieved without any thermal-optical problems. This laser has the potential for scaling to much higher output power.  相似文献

We report a 1 018-nm ytterbium-doped double-clad fiber laser pumped by 970-nm diode. A pair of fiber Bragg gratings with reflectivities of 99.9% and 9% at a center wavelength of 1 018.9 nm are employed as cavity mirrors. The ytterbium-doped double-clad fiber is a 2.6-m-long Liekki fiber. Laser output power of 7.5 W at 1 018 nm is obtained under the pump power of 59.2 W. The overall slope efficiency of the fiber laser is about 16%. This low slope efficiency is mainly due to the incomplete absorption of the pump power.  相似文献

A high-power ytterbium-doped fiber laser (YDFL) with homemade double-clad fiber (DCF) is introduced in this letter. The geometric parameter and laser characteristics of the fiber have been studied. With oneend-pumping scheme, pumped by a high-power laser diode with launching power of 280 W, a maximum continuous wave (CW) output of 110 W is obtained with an optical-to-optical efficiency of 40%.  相似文献

We report the generation of self-similar highly stable femtosecond pulses from an ytterbium-doped double-clad fiber laser. Positively chirped parabolic pulses with 6.4-ps duration and more than 3.2-nJ energy are obtained. These pulses are extra-cavity compressed to 140 fs. Radio-frequency noise measurements show that this regime of emission ensures low-noise operation with less than 0.05% amplitude fluctuations. PACS 42.55.Wd; 42.65.Re  相似文献

We report on high-power operation of a fiber distributed-feedback (DFB) laser fabricated from Tm-doped photosensitive alumino-silicate fiber and in-band pumped by an Er/Yb fiber laser at 1565 nm. The fiber DFB laser yielded up to 875 mW of single-ended output at 1943 nm on two orthogonally polarized modes for 3.5 W of absorbed pump power. Further scaling of the DFB laser output power was achieved with the aid of a simple Tm-doped fiber amplifier stage spliced directly to the DFB fiber without the need of an optical isolator. The maximum output power from the DFB laser and fiber amplifier was >3 W for a combined absorbed pump power of 8.1 W. The influence of thermal loading, owing to quantum defect heating in the Tm-doped core, on the output power and longitudinal mode behavior is discussed, and the prospects for further improvement in performance are considered.  相似文献

CsPbBr_3 nanocrystal is used as the saturable absorber(SA) for mode-locking Tm-doped fiber laser in a ring fiber cavity.The modulation depth, saturable intensity, and non-saturable loss of the fabricated SA are 14.1%, 2.5 MW/cm~2,and 5.9%, respectively.In the mode-locking operation, the mode-locked pulse train has a repetition rate of 16.6 MHz with pulse width of 24.2 ps.The laser wavelength is centered at 1992.9 nm with 3-dB spectrum width of 2.5 nm.The maximum output power is 110 mW with slope efficiency of 7.1%.Our experiment shows that CsPbBr_3 nanocrystal can be used as an efficient SA in the 2-μm wavelength region.  相似文献

A laser-diode-pumped Yb-doped double-clad fiber laser operating in a hybrid Q-switched regime has been demonstrated. With pulsed pump light and stimulated Brillouin scattering of the gain fiber as the Q-switching mechanisms, the laser generated nanosecond pulses with a stable repetition rate. A single-pulse energy of as much as 143.1 microJ with a peak power of 28.6 kW was obtained. Use of an external-cavity diffraction grating in the Littman configuration permitted tuning of the laser wavelength over a 15.7-THz range from 1080 to 1140 nm, and a linewidth of 0.04 nm over the whole tuning range was achieved.  相似文献

设计了一种基于色散管理的掺铥光纤激光器。通过调节泵浦功率以及腔内偏振态,首先实现了稳定的展宽脉冲输出,中心波长和脉冲宽度分别为1 939.4 nm和482 fs。最大输出功率为15 mW,对应的单脉冲能量为0.52 nJ。增加泵浦功率到645 mW时,通过适当调节偏振控制器可以实现类噪声脉冲锁模,中心波长为1 940.1 nm。所实现的锁模脉冲具有飞秒量级的尖峰以及皮秒量级的基底。最大输出功率为20.4 mW,相对应的单脉冲能量为0.7 nJ。相比于传统孤子,采用色散管理所实现的锁模脉冲具有更高的脉冲能量。此外,所设计的掺铥光纤激光器可作为理想的主振荡功率放大以及啁啾脉冲放大结构的种子源,进一步提高脉冲能量,拓展2 μm高能光纤激光器的实际应用。  相似文献

A novel all fiber cavity Yb3+-doped double-clad fiber laser (DCFL) based on two double-clad fiber (DCF)Bragg grating is presented. The fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) as the input and output mirrors have been formed in Yb3+-doped DCF with the phase-mask method, and their reflectivities are 99% and 22%,respectively. When the input pump power is 417 mW, the maximum output power is 144 mW with linewidth <0.1 nm at the wavelength of 1.057μm, over 40-dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and 50.8% slope efficiency.  相似文献

在激光器输出平均功率一定的情况下,峰值功率主要取决于调制频率和脉冲宽度。这使得脉冲宽度的调节具有一定的实际应用价值。对调Q掺铥双包层光纤激光器进行研究,首先确定了激光器的最佳输出透过率,在65%最佳透过率时,得到2 m激光的输出功率3.9 W,斜率效率为31%。外接一个信号发生器,信号门宽从12 s变化到18 s,并测量了调制频率分别在30 kHz、40 kHz和50 kHz时输出脉冲宽度的变化情况,得到了555.6 W的最高峰值功率,实现了脉冲宽度从163.4 ns到207.9 ns的变化。实验情况证实了用外接信号发生器能有效控制激光器的输出脉冲宽度。  相似文献
