We study boundary value problems for the time-harmonic form of the Maxwell equations, as well as for other related systems of equations, on arbitrary Lipschitz domains in the three-dimensional Euclidean space. The main goal is to develop the corresponding theory for Lp-integrable bounday data for optimal values of p's. We also discuss a number of relevant applications in electromagnetic scattering.  相似文献

Let T be a Calderón-Zygmund operator in a “non-homogeneous” space ( , d, μ), where, in particular, the measure μ may be non-doubling. Much of the classical theory of singular integrals has been recently extended to this context by F. Nazarov, S. Treil, and A. Volberg and, independently by X. Tolsa. In the present work we study some weighted inequalities for T*, which is the supremum of the truncated operators associated with T. Specifically, for1<p<∞, we obtain sufficient conditions for the weight in one side, which guarantee that another weight exists in the other side, so that the corresponding Lp weighted inequality holds for T*. The main tool to deal with this problem is the theory of vector-valued inequalities for T* and some related operators. We discuss it first by showing how these operators are connected to the general theory of vector-valued Calderón-Zygmund operators in non-homogeneous spaces, developed in our previous paper [6]. For the Cauchy integral operator C, which is the main example, we apply the two-weight inequalities for C* to characterize the existence of principal values for functions in weighted Lp.  相似文献

The Calderón Projector, is one of the most important tools in the study of boundary value problems for elliptic operators. Its construction is well known for elliptic operators with C coefficients on C domains and even for the Laplacian operator on C1 domains. The aim of this article is to extend the results for the Laplacian case to elliptic operators in divergence form with Lipschitz coefficients on C1 domains.  相似文献

We consider singular integral and maximal operators associated to hypersurfaces given by the graph of a function whose level sets are defined by a convex function of finite type. We investigate the Lp theory for these operators which depend on geometric properties of the hypersurface.  相似文献

This article proves the Lp-boundedness of general bilinear operators associated to a symbol or multiplier which need not be smooth. The Main Theorem establishes a general result for multipliers that are allowed to have singularities along the edges of a cone as well as possibly at its vertex. It thus unifies earlier results of Coifman-Meyer for smooth multipliers and ones, such the Bilinear Hilbert transform of Lacey-Thiele, where the multiplier is not smooth. Using a Whitney decomposition in the Fourier plane, a general bilinear operator is represented as infinite discrete sums of time-frequency paraproducts obtained by associating wave-packets with tiles in phase-plane. Boundedness for the general bilinear operator then follows once the corresponding Lp-boundedness of time-frequency paraproducts has been established. The latter result is the main theorem proved in Part in Part II, our subsequent article [11], using phase-plane analysis. In memory of A.P. Calderón  相似文献

A multi(sub)linear maximal operator that acts on the product of m Lebesgue spaces and is smaller than the m-fold product of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function is studied. The operator is used to obtain a precise control on multilinear singular integral operators of Calderón-Zygmund type and to build a theory of weights adapted to the multilinear setting. A natural variant of the operator which is useful to control certain commutators of multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators with BMO functions is then considered. The optimal range of strong type estimates, a sharp end-point estimate, and weighted norm inequalities involving both the classical Muckenhoupt weights and the new multilinear ones are also obtained for the commutators.  相似文献

We develop a generalized Littlewood-Paley theory for semigroups acting on Lp-spaces of functions with values in uniformly convex or smooth Banach spaces. We characterize, in the vector-valued setting, the validity of the one-sided inequalities concerning the generalized Littlewood-Paley-Stein g-function associated with a subordinated Poisson symmetric diffusion semigroup by the martingale cotype and type properties of the underlying Banach space. We show that in the case of the usual Poisson semigroup and the Poisson semigroup subordinated to the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck semigroup on Rn, this general theory becomes more satisfactory (and easier to be handled) in virtue of the theory of vector-valued Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operators.  相似文献

We prove quadratic estimates for complex perturbations of Dirac-type operators, and thereby show that such operators have a bounded functional calculus. As an application we show that spectral projections of the Hodge–Dirac operator on compact manifolds depend analytically on L changes in the metric. We also recover a unified proof of many results in the Calderón program, including the Kato square root problem and the boundedness of the Cauchy operator on Lipschitz curves and surfaces.  相似文献

We generalize the Ap extrapolation theorem of Rubio de Francia to A weights in the context of Muckenhoupt bases. Our result has several important features. First, it can be used to prove weak endpoint inequalities starting from strong-type inequalities, something which is impossible using the classical result. Second, it provides an alternative to the technique of good-λ inequalities for proving Lp norm inequalities relating operators. Third, it yields vector-valued inequalities without having to use the theory of Banach space valued operators. We give a number of applications to maximal functions, singular integrals, potential operators, commutators, multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators, and multiparameter fractional integrals. In particular, we give new proofs, which completely avoid the good-λ inequalities, of Coifman's inequality relating singular integrals and the maximal operator, of the Fefferman-Stein inequality relating the maximal operator and the sharp maximal operator, and the Muckenhoupt-Wheeden inequality relating the fractional integral operator and the fractional maximal operator.  相似文献

We show that the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator and a class of Calderón-Zygmund singular integrals satisfy the strong type modular inequality in variable Lp spaces if and only if the variable exponent p(x) ∼ const. Received: 15 September 2004  相似文献

We consider a system formulation for Sturm–Liouville operators with formally self-adjoint boundary conditions on a graph. An M-matrix associated with the boundary value problem is defined and related to the matrix Prüfer angle associated with the system boundary value problem, and consequently with the boundary value problem on the graph. Asymptotics for the M-matrix are obtained as the eigenparameter tends to negative infinity. We show that the boundary conditions may be recovered, up to a unitary equivalence, from the M-matrix and that the M-matrix is a Herglotz function. This is the first in a series of papers devoted to the reconstruction of the Sturm–Liouville problem on a graph from its M-matrix.  相似文献

This is the second part of a series of four articles on weighted norm inequalities, off-diagonal estimates and elliptic operators. We consider a substitute to the notion of pointwise bounds for kernels of operators which usually is a measure of decay. This substitute is that of off-diagonal estimates expressed in terms of local and scale invariant LpLq estimates. We propose a definition in spaces of homogeneous type that is stable under composition. It is particularly well suited to semigroups. We study the case of semigroups generated by elliptic operators. We give two sided estimates of the norm of Cauchy transform on Lp(Ω)(1 ≤ p < ∞) in the case when Ω is the unit disc or the bounded simply connected domain with piecewise C1 boundary. As a consequence we get the better constant in Poincare inequality. Also, we conjecture the exact value norm of Cauchy transform on Lp(D), where D is the unit disc.  相似文献

In this paper, we study two-weight norm inequalities for operators of potential type in homogeneous spaces. We improve some of the results given in [6] and [8] by significantly weakening their hypotheses and by enlarging the class of operators to which they apply. We also show that corresponding results of Carleson type for upper half-spaces can be derived as corollaries of those for homogeneous spaces. As an application, we obtain some necessary and sufficient conditions for a large class of weighted norm inequalities for maximal functions under various assumptions on the measures or spaces involved.Research of the first author was supported in part by NSERC grant A5149.Research of the second author was supported in part by NSF grant DMS93-02991.  相似文献

In this paper we study conditions guaranteeing that functions defined on a Lipschitz domain Ω have boundary traces in Hardy and Besov spaces on ∂Ω. In turn these results are used to develop a new approach to the theory of compensated compactness and the theory of non-locally convex Hardy and Bergman type spaces.  相似文献

We prove sufficient conditions on material constants, frequency and Lipschitz regularity of interface for well posedness of a generalized Maxwell transmission problem in finite energy norms. This is done by embedding Maxwell's equations in an elliptic Dirac equation, by constructing the natural trace space for the transmission problem and using Hodge decompositions for operators d and δ on weakly Lipschitz domains to prove stability. We also obtain results for boundary value problems and transmission problems for the Hodge–Dirac equation and prove spectral estimates for boundary singular integral operators related to double layer potentials. Carleman estimates and inverse problems for Dirac operators   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We consider limiting Carleman weights for Dirac operators and prove corresponding Carleman estimates. In particular, we show that limiting Carleman weights for the Laplacian also serve as limiting weights for Dirac operators. As an application we consider the inverse problem of recovering a Lipschitz continuous magnetic field and electric potential from boundary measurements for the Pauli Dirac operator. M. This paper gives a type theorem, which is a boundedness criterion for singular integral operators from the weighted Herz‐type Hardy spaces into the weighted local Herz‐type Hardy spaces. As applications, the corresponding mapping properties for the Cauchy integral and Calderón's commutators are obtained. In addition, a counter example is shown that neither is a Calderón–Zygmund singular integral operator bounded on the homogeneous local Herz‐type Hardy space, nor bounded on the classical local Hardy space.  相似文献

Given a Radon measure on , which may be non doubling, we introduce a space of type BMO with respect to this measure. It is shown that many properties which hold for the classical space when is a doubling measure remain valid for the space of type BMO introduced in this paper, without assuming doubling. For instance, Calderón-Zygmund operators which are bounded on are also bounded from into the new BMO space. Moreover, this space also satisfies a John-Nirenberg inequality, and its predual is an atomic space . Using a sharp maximal operator it is shown that operators which are bounded from into the new BMO space and from its predual into must be bounded on , . From this result one can obtain a new proof of the T(1) theorem for the Cauchy transform for non doubling measures. Finally, it is proved that commutators of Calderón-Zygmund operators bounded on with functions of the new BMO are bounded on . Received February 18, 2000 / Published online October 11, 2000  相似文献
