Oxygen-to-oxygen coupling, direct H-abstraction and oxygen-to-(α)carbon nucleophilic substitution processes have been investigated for both the singlet and triplet self-reaction of C(2)H(5)O(2) radicals at the CCSD(T)/cc-pVDZ//B3LYP/6-311G(2d,2p) level to evaluate the reaction mechanisms, possible products and rate constants. The calculated results show that the title reaction mainly occurs through the singlet oxygen-to-oxygen coupling mechanism with the formation of entrance tetroxide intermediates, and the most dominant product is C(2)H(5)O + HO(2) + CH(3)CHO (P5) generated in channel R5. Beginning from the radical products of P5 (C(2)H(5)O, HO(2)) and reactant (C(2)H(5)O(2)), five secondary reactions HO(2) + HO(2) (a), HO(2) + C(2)H(5)O (b), C(2)H(5)O + C(2)H(5)O (c), HO(2) + C(2)H(5)O(2) (d), and C(2)H(5)O + C(2)H(5)O(2) (e) mainly proceed on the triplet potential energy surface. Among these reactions, (a), (b), and (d) are kinetically favorable because of lower barrier heights. The calculated rate constants of channel R5 between 200 and 295 K are almost independent of the temperature, which is in agreement with the experimental report. With regard to the final products distribution, CH(3)CHO, C(2)H(5)OH, C(2)H(5)OOH, H(2)O(2), and (3)O(2) are predicted to be major, whereas C(2)H(5)OOC(2)H(5) should be in minor amount.  相似文献

The rate coefficients for the gas-phase reactions of C2H5O2 and n-C3H7O2 radicals with NO have been measured over the temperature range of (201–403) K using chemical ionization mass spectrometric detection of the peroxy radical. The alkyl peroxy radicals were generated by reacting alkyl radicals with O2, where the alkyl radicals were produced through the pyrolysis of a larger alkyl nitrite. In some cases C2H5 radicals were generated through the dissociation of iodoethane in a low-power radio frequency discharge. The discharge source was also tested for the i-C3H7O2 + NO reaction, yielding k298 K = (9.1 ± 1.5) × 10−12 cm3 molecule−1 s−1, in excellent agreement with our previous determination. The temperature dependent rate coefficients were found to be k(T) = (2.6 ± 0.4) × 10−12 exp{(380 ± 70)/T} cm3 molecule−1 s−1 and k(T) = (2.9 ± 0.5) × 10−12 exp{(350 ± 60)/T} cm3 molecule−1 s−1 for the reactions of C2H5O2 and n-C3H7O2 radicals with NO, respectively. The rate coefficients at 298 K derived from these Arrhenius expressions are k = (9.3 ± 1.6) × 10−12 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 for C2H5O2 radicals and k = (9.4 ± 1.6) × 10−12 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 for n-C3H7O2 radicals. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

C2H5ONO was photolyzed with 366 nm radiation at ?48, ?22, ?2.5, 23, 55, 88, and 120°C in a static system in the presence of NO, O2, and N2. The quantum yield of CH3CHO, Φ{CH3CHO}, was measured as a function of reaction conditions. The primary photochemical act is and it proceeds with a quantum yield ?1a = 0.29 ± 0.03 independent of temperature. The C2H5O radicals can react with NO by two routes The C2H5O radical can also react with O2 via Values of k6/k2 were determined at each temperature. They fit the Arrhenius expression: Log(k6/k2) = ?2.17 ± 0.14 ? (924 ± 94)/2.303 T. For k2 ? 4.4 × 10?11 cm3/s, k6 becomes (3.0 ± 1.0) × 10?13 exp{?(924 ± 94)/T} cm3/s. The reaction scheme also provides k8a/k8 = 0.43 ± 0.13, where   相似文献

The proton transfer equilibrium reactions involving 3-penten-2-one, 3-methyl-3-buten-2-one, crotonic acid and methacrylic acid were carried out in an ion cyclotron resonance (ICR) spectrometer. The semiempirical method MNDO, used to estimate the heats of formation for 14 protonated [C5H9O]+ and [C4H7O2]+ ions and the energetic aspect of the fragmentations of metastable [C6H12O]+. and [C6H12O2]+. ions, leads to the conclusion that the ions corresponding to protonation at the carbonyl oxygen are the most stable. Thus the experimentally determined heats of formation of protonated olefinic carbonyl compounds can be attributed to the following structures: [CH3COHCHCHCH3]+ (δHf = 490 KJ mol?1), [CH3COHC(CH3)CH2]+ (δHf = 502 KJ mol?1), [HOCOHCHCHCH3]+ (δHf = 330 KJ mol?1) and [HOCOHC(CH3)CH2]+ (δHf = 336 KJ mol?1).  相似文献

The reactions of metastable [C5H10O]+ ˙ radical cations produced by ionization of 4-penten-1-ol are reported and discussed. These [C5H10O]+ ˙ species undergo mainly ethyl radical loss, with smaller contributions of methyl radical and water expulsion. 2H-Labelling studies reveal different specificities of hydrogen selection in these three fragmentations. The behaviour of these [C5H10O]+ ˙ ions is compared to those reported previously for isomeric radical cations containing linear alkenyl chains and a terminal hydroxyl group.  相似文献

Time-resolved production of HO2 and DO2 from the reactions of nondeuterated and deuterated ethyl and propyl radicals with O2 are measured as a function of temperature and pressure in the "transition region" between 623 and 748 K using the technique of laser photolysis/long path frequency modulation spectroscopy. Experimental measurements, using both pulsed-photolytic Cl-atom-initiated oxidation of ethane and propane and direct photolysis of ethyl, n-propyl, and isopropyl iodides, are compared to kinetic models based on the results of time-dependent master equation calculations with ab initio characterization of stationary points. The formation of DO2 and HO2 from the subsequent reaction of the alkyl radicals with O2 is followed by infrared frequency modulation spectroscopy. The concentration of I atoms is simultaneously monitored by direct absorption of a second laser probe on the spin-orbit transition. The kinetic models accurately describe the time scale and amplitude of the DO2 and HO2 formation resulting from C2D5 + O2, n-C3D7 + O2, i-C3D7 + O2, and i-C3H7 + O2. Overall, a very good level of agreement is found between theory and experiments over a wide range of temperatures, pressures, and O2 concentrations. Good agreement is also found between previous literature studies and the theory presented in this work except in the case of the high-temperature rate coefficients for the reaction of i-C3H7 + O2 to form propene. A reinvestigation of the high-temperature kinetics of the i-C3H7 + O2 reaction appears warranted. The results from the present work suggest that the theory for formation of HO2 from the reactions of ethyl and both isomeric forms of propyl radicals with O2 are very well established at this time. It is hoped that these reactions can now form the groundwork for the study and interpretation of larger and more complex R + O2 systems.  相似文献

Kinetics for reactions of phenoxy radical, C6H5O, with itself and with O3 were examined at 298 K and low pressure (1 Torr) using discharge flow coupled with mass spectrometry (DF/MS). The rate constant for the phenoxy radical self‐reaction was determined to be k1 = (1.49 ± 0.53) × 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 defined by d[C6H5O]/dt=−2 k1[C6H5O]2. The rate constant for the C6H5O reaction with O3 was measured to be k2 = (2.86 ± 0.35) × 10−13 cm3 molecule−1 s−1, which may be a lower limit value. Because of much higher atmospheric abundance of ozone than that of both NO and phenoxy, the reaction of C6H5O with ozone may represent the principal fate of the phenoxy radical in the atmosphere. Products from reaction of C6H5O + C6H5O, NO, and NO2 were also investigated, and (C6H5O)2 (m/e = 186), C6H5O(NO) (m/e = 123), and C6H5O(NO2) (m/e = 139) adducts were observed as products for the reactions of C6H5O with itself, NO, and NO2, respectively. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The unimolecular decomposition reaction of CF3CCl2O radical has been investigated using theoretical methods. Two most important channels of decomposition occurring via C–C bond scission and Cl elimination have been considered during the present investigation. Ab initio quantum mechanical calculations are performed to get optimized structure and vibrational frequencies at DFT and MP2 levels of theory. Energetics are further refined by the application of a modified Gaussian-2 method, G2M(CC,MP2). The thermal rate constants for the decomposition reactions involved are evaluated using Canonical Transition State Theory (CTST) utilizing the ab initio data. Rate constants for C–C bond scission and Cl elimination are found to be 6.7 × 106 and 1.1 × 108 s?1, respectively, at 298 K and 1 atm pressure with an energy barrier of 8.6 and 6.5 kcal/mol, respectively. These values suggest that Cl elimination is the dominant process during the decomposition of the CF3CCl2O radical. Transition states are searched on the potential energy surface of the decomposition reactions involved and are characterized by the existence of only one imaginary frequency (NIMAG = 1) during frequency calculation. The existence of transition states on the corresponding potential energy surface is further ascertained by performing intrinsic reaction coordinate (IRC) calculation.  相似文献

The disproportionation and combination reactions between CF2H and C2H5 radicals have been studied in the gas phase from room temperature to 70°C. For the pathway which yields CF2H2 + C2H4, relative to CF2HC2H5, Δ = 0.072 ± 0.019. The competing reaction channel that produces CF2 + C2H6 is approximately four times as efficient, with Δ = 0.265 ± 0.038. With CF2D radicals an isotope effect for the CF2 + C2H5D reaction pathway was observed with Δ ? 0.2.  相似文献

The ionization energies (IEs) for the 1-methylallyl, 2-methylallyl, cyclopropylmethyl, and cyclobutyl radicals have been calculated by the wave function based ab initio CCSD(T)/CBS approach, which involves the approximation to the complete basis set (CBS) limit at the coupled cluster level with single and double excitations plus quasiperturbative triple excitation [CCSD(T)]. The zero-point vibrational energy correction, the core-valence electronic correction, and the scalar relativistic effect correction are included in these calculations. The present CCSD(T)/CBS results are then compared with the IEs determined in the photoelectron experiment by Schultz et al. [J. Am. Chem. Soc. 106, 7336 (1984)] The predicted IE value (7.881 eV) of 2-methylallyl radical is found to compare very favorably with the experimental value of 7.90+/-0.02 eV. Two ionization transitions for cis-1-methylallyl and trans-1-methylallyl radicals have been considered here. The comparison between the predicted IE values and the previous measurements shows that the photoelectron peak observed by Schultz et al. likely corresponds to the adiabatic ionization transition for the trans-1-methylallyl radical to form trans-1-methylallyl cation. Although a precise IE value for the cyclopropylmethyl radical has not been directly determined, the experimental value deduced indirectly using other known energetic data is found to be in good accord with the present CCSD(T)/CBS prediction. We expect that the Franck-Condon factor for ionization transition of c-C4H7-->bicyclobutonium is much less favorable than that for ionization transition of c-C4H7-->planar-C4H7+, and the observed IE in the previous photoelectron experiment is likely due to the ionization transition for c-C4H7-->planar-C4H7+. Based on our CCSD(T)/CBS prediction, the ionization transition of c-C4H7-->bicyclobutonium with an IE value around 6.92 eV should be taken as the adiabatic ionization transition for the cyclobutyl radical. The present study provides support for the conclusion that the CCSD(T)/CBS approach with high-level energetic corrections can be used to provide reliable IE predictions for C4 hydrocarbon radicals with an uncertainty of +/-22 meV. The CCSD(T)/CBS predictions to the heats of formation for the aforementioned radicals and cations are also presented.  相似文献

Products of the gas-phase reactions of OH radicals with O,O-diethyl methylphosphonothioate [(C2H5O)2P(S)CH3, DEMPT] and O,O,O-triethyl phosphorothioate [(C2H5O)3PS, TEPT] have been investigated at room temperature and atmospheric pressure of air using in situ atmospheric pressure ionization mass spectrometry (API-MS) and, for the TEPT reaction, gas chromatography and in situ Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Combined with products quantified previously by gas chromatography, the products observed were: from the DEMPT reaction, (C2H5O)2P(O)CH3 (21+/-4% yield) and C2H5OP(S)(CH3)OH or C2H5OP(O)(CH3)SH (presumed to be C2H5OP(O)(CH3)SH by analogy with the TEPT reaction); and from the TEPT reaction, (C2H5O)3PO (54-62% yield), SO2 (67+/-10% yield), CH3CHO (22-40% yield) and, tentatively, (C2H5O)2P(O)SH. The FT-IR analyses showed that the formation yields of HCHO, CO, CO2, peroxyacetyl nitrate [CH3C(O)OONO2], organic nitrates, and acetates from the TEPT reaction were <5%, 3+/-1%, <7%, <2%, 5+/-3%, and 3+/-2%, respectively. Possible reaction mechanisms are discussed.  相似文献

The kinetics and mechanisms for the unimolecular dissociation of nitrobenzene and related association reactions C(6)H(5) + NO(2) and C(6)H(5)O + NO have been studied computationally at the G2M(RCC, MP2) level of theory in conjunction with rate constant prediction with multichannel RRKM calculations. Formation of C(6)H(5) + NO(2) was found to be dominant above 850 K with its branching ratio > 0.78, whereas the formation of C(6)H(5)O + NO via the C(6)H(5)ONO intermediate was found to be competitive at lower temperatures, with its branching ratio increasing from 0.22 at 850 K to 0.97 at 500 K. The third energetically accessible channel producing C(6)H(4) + HONO was found to be uncompetitive throughout the temperature range investigated, 500-2000 K. The predicted rate constants for C(6)H(5)NO(2) --> C(6)H(5) + NO(2) and C(6)H(5)O + NO --> C(6)H(5)ONO under varying experimental conditions were found to be in good agreement with all existing experimental data. For C(6)H(5) + NO(2), the combination processes producing C(6)H(5)ONO and C(6)H(5)NO(2) are dominant at low temperature and high pressure, while the disproportionation process giving C(6)H(5)O + NO via C(6)H(5)ONO becomes competitive at low pressure and dominant at temperatures above 1000 K.  相似文献

Characterization of some [C4H5O2]+ ions in the gas phase using their collisional activation mass spectra shows that the isomeric ions \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ {\rm CH}_3 {\rm OCH = CH} - \mathop {\rm C}\limits^ + {\rm = O,} $\end{document} and \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ {\rm HC} \equiv {\rm C} - \mathop {{\rm C}({\rm OH}){\rm OCH}_3 }\limits^ + $\end{document} are stable for t?10?5 s. Of these, ions of structure were generated by the site specific gas phase protonation of γ-crotonolactone with isobutane or methanol as chemical ionization reagent gases. These results and those derived from measurements on some 2H, 13C and 18O labelled [C4H5O2]+ product ions, were used to study the mechanisms of unimolecular radical elimination reactions, viz. (1) loss of CH3˙ from [trans-methyl crotonate], (2) loss of H˙ from [methyl acrylate]+˙, (3) loss of H˙ from [cyclopropane carboxylic acid]+˙ and (4) loss of CH3˙ from [1,3-dimethoxypropyne]+˙. It is concluded that none of these losses occur by simple bond cleavage. Mechanisms are presented which account for the observation that the first three reactions yield product ions of structure whereas the ions generated by reaction (4) have structure \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ {\rm CH}_3 {\rm OCH = CH} - \mathop {\rm C}\limits^ + {\rm = O}{\rm .} $\end{document}. It is further proposed that a minor fraction of the [M-CH3]+ ions from ionized trans-methyl crotonate is generated via a rearrangement process which yields ions of structure \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ {\rm CH}_3 {\rm OCH = CH} - \mathop {\rm C}\limits^ + {\rm = O}{\rm .} $\end{document}.  相似文献

The initial rates of formation of the major products in the thermal reactions of ethylene at temperatures in the neighborhood of 800 K have been measured in the presence and absence of the additives neopentane and ethane. It has been shown that in the absence of the additive the main initiation process is (1) while in the presence of neopentane and ethane the following additional initiation processes occur: (2) From the ratios of the rates of formation of the major products in the presence and absence of the additive the ratios kN/k1 and kE/k1 were measured over the temperature range of 750–820 K. Taking values from the literature for kN and kE, the following value was obtained for k1: Previous results using butene-1 as additive were rexamined and shown to be consistent with this measurement. From this measurement the following values were derived: ΔHf(C2H3) = 63.4 ± 2 kcal/mol and D(C2H3? H) = 103 kcal/mol.  相似文献
