提出了一种新型的非对称性散射体的二维六角晶格光子晶体结构–-太极形介质柱光子晶体. 利用平面波展开法从理论研究这种光子晶体结构的能带特性以及结构参数对完全禁带的影响. 研究表明:散射体对称性的打破, TE模和TM模能带宽度和数目都会有所增加, 有益于获得更宽的完全禁带以及更多条完全禁带.通过参数优化, 发现在ε = 17, R=0.38 μm, r=0.36R, θ = 0° 时, 获得最大完全带隙宽度0.0541(ωa/2πc); 在ε = 16, R=0.44, r=0.2R, θ = 0°时, 光子晶体完全带隙数目最多达到8条. 关键词: 光子晶体 禁带 平面波展开  相似文献

基于平面波展开法,设计了二维正方晶格和三角晶格光子晶体缺陷结构,数值模拟了TE模、TM模式的光子晶体禁带特性,计算了二维三角晶格光子晶体缺陷结构的模式分布。结果表明,光子晶体缺陷结构能够形成很好的禁带特性和模式结构,研究结论为光子晶体波导器件的开发提供参考。  相似文献

In this paper, the plane wave expansion method is used to calculate the photonic band structure (PBS) for the transverse electric (TE) polarization in a two-dimensional hexagonal lattice composed air holes with cross-sections in the shape of equilateral triangles embedded in a GaAs background. We consider that the dielectric constant of GaAs is dependent on both hydrostatic pressure and temperature. Further, an increase can be observed in the width of the photonic band gap (PBG) while the lengths of the sides of the equilateral triangles are increased. When the pressure increases in the presence of a constant temperature, the dielectric constant of GaAs decreases; further, the PBS exhibits a more noticeable shift toward regions of higher frequencies than that observed while the temperature is increased at a given pressure. We also observed that the PBG obtained by rotating the triangular holes by an angle θ increases when compared against the results obtained for the lattice of holes without performing any rotation. In addition, the results obtained using the supercell technique denote that the position and width of the PBG remain unchanged while removing a triangular hole from the structure, denoting the presence of a defective band within the PBG.  相似文献

In this work, we report the investigation of 2D photonic crystals in lithium niobate associated with waveguiding structures fabricated by He+ implantation. From the material point of view, the investigation of PBG structures in lithium niobate is of great interest for optoelectronics technology since this crystal is one of the most important materials widely used in integrated and non linear optics. The choice of the implantation technique to produce the waveguide is motivated by the possibility of having both Transverse Electric (TE) and Transverse Magnetic (TM) guided modes in order to obtain a total photonic band gap (PBG).  相似文献

研究了二维光子晶体量子阱的光谱特性,该量子阱结构由二维正方晶格圆柱晶胞光子晶体通过移去中间位置的介质圆柱层形成。由于光子晶体中的光子禁带充当了光子运动的势垒,类似于半导体量子阱中电子的行为,在光子晶体量子阱结构中会出现量子化的光子能态。文章利用平面波展开法计算了所用光子晶体的能带结构,利用传输矩阵方法计算了量子阱结构的透射光谱。计算结果表明,在光子禁带中出现了离散的透射峰,透射峰的强度随着势垒宽度的增加而减弱,个数随着势阱宽度的增加而增加,通过计算得到了其定量关系,并且讨论了透射峰频率与势阱宽度的关系。  相似文献

We investigate theoretically the creation conditions of TE and TM polarized surface waves created at the interface between a homogeneous medium and one dimensional photonic crystal (1D PC). The 1D PC is composed of uniaxially anisotropic left-handed (LH) and isotropic right-handed (RH) layers. We show that the characteristics of surface waves created in the 1D PC are significantly different from those created in the structure composed of isotropic LH and RH layers. We also prove that the coexistence of TE and TM surface waves at the interface is possible in the same frequency domain. Moreover, it is shown that in this structure backward and forward surface waves are created in wider ranges of frequency and angle of incident light, in comparison with the structure in which the left-handed layers are isotropic.  相似文献

基于平面波展开法,以碳化硅构成二维正方晶格光子晶体,数值模拟了TE模、TM模二维光子晶体的禁带特性,结果表明,TE模更容易形成光子禁带。同时设计了以碳化硅构成二维正方晶格光子晶体波导,数值模拟了TE模、TM模波导的传输特性和禁带特性,结果表明,TE模构成的波导电磁波能够较好的传播,它们的光子禁带都没有出现。研究结论为光子晶体波导器件的开发提供参考。  相似文献

利用转移矩阵法研究了二维四方光子晶体中缺陷对透射光谱的影响。结果表明缺陷对TE波的影响比对TM波的影响明显,缺陷层填充比对禁带宽度影响很大,TE波禁带在填充比r/a=0.33时最宽,第一禁带的最低频率随着填充比的增加向低频移动。  相似文献

运用平面波展开法(PWE),针对光子晶体在短波长段发光二极管(LED)领域上的应用,主要选择高频禁带模式,研究了4种具有较大应用潜力的二维光子晶体结构,包括正方空气柱结构、三角空气柱结构、正方介质柱结构和三角介质柱结构。在不同晶格常数、占空比(AFF)、柱半径和晶格常数比下,分析了TE模式和TM模式光子禁带的变化。数据分析表明,光子禁带中心波长随AFF增加而变小。相比于其他结构,正方介质柱结构更适于短波段光子晶体LED来提高其出光效率,三角介质柱结构和三角空气柱结构适合用于构造短波段偏振光LED。  相似文献

为了研究一维各向异性光子晶体的全反射隧穿偏振特性,利用传输矩阵法计算了TE波和TM波以大于全反射角入射一维各向异性光子晶体时的透射率,在透射波中发现了TE波和TM波的一、二级全反射隧穿带.得出了与一维各向同性光子晶体的全反射隧穿效应的不同点,即TE波和TM波的一、二级全反射隧穿带的频率中心和频率宽度存在着较大的差异,利用这个特性可以将两种偏振光进行频率分离,为设计优质偏振滤波器提供理论依据.  相似文献

利用平面波法导出了光子晶体本征方程的矩阵形式,以此为基础计算了二维空气孔型正方形光子晶体在正入射时及斜入射时的带结构,并将带结构中混杂在一起的TE波和TM波的模式分离开来以分析斜入射角对带结构的影响.计算结果显示用电场E表示和用磁场H表示计算出来的结果完全一样,与电磁场是相互统一的结论完全吻合.研究还发现,TE波和TM波的第一带隙是完全分开的.随着波矢k的倾斜角度的增大,TE波的第一带隙逐渐减小并在波矢在(-1,0,1)平面内时完全消失.而TM波的带结构则随着波矢k的倾斜角的增大而变得平坦,带隙也是先随之增大,后又逐渐变小直至消失.  相似文献

基于平面波展开法,理论分析了填充率、介质各向异性的程度对单轴金刚石结构三维光子晶体禁带的影响.结果表明,当填充率和介质各向异性取合适的值,单轴各向异性金刚石结构光子晶体存在着完全带隙.介质各向异性的引入使该晶体的带隙变窄甚至完全关闭.在各个布里渊区域里,带隙率和带隙宽度随介质各向异性程度的变化而变化.各向异性的引入为调整光子禁带提供了一种方法.  相似文献

Complete photonic band gaps (PBGs) are found in one-dimensional ternary photonic crystals (1D TPCs) composed of an ordinary dielectric and single negative metamaterials. The proposed TPC gives omni directional PBG completely independent of polarizations dependent weekly on angle of incidence. Here the choice of different parameters of TPC is done in such a way so that it eliminates the Brewster's-angle transmission resonance, thus allowing a complete 3D PBG. It exhibits a photonic band or gap near frequencies where either the magnetic permeability or the electric permittivity of the metamaterial changes sign, whose width increases with the increasing angle of incidence. These result from the dispersive properties of the metamaterials and disappear for the particular case of propagation along the stratification direction. The results are discussed in terms of incident angle, layer thickness, dielectric constant of the dielectric material for TE and TM polarizations.  相似文献

对压强控制自组装法进行了改进,采用了密封硅胶颗粒的强吸水装置,为光子晶体样品的制备提供了一个稳定的温度、湿度和压强环境.将温度、压强分别控制在35 ℃、45 mmHg,利用直径为260 nm的聚苯乙烯胶体球进行了高质量三维光子晶体样品的制备.从理论计算和实验测量等方面对制备的光子晶体样品的结构、质量和性能进行了对比分析,结果表明,利用该实验装置进行光子晶体样品的制备时,可重复性高;制备的光子晶体样品具有较为完美有序的密堆结构,质量较好;在光子晶体样品的Г L方向有深且窄的光子带隙和陡峭的带隙边沿.光子带隙深度为83%,宽度为0.073,带隙边沿陡峭度为8%/nm,这为超快全光开关等先进的光学设备的研究奠定了基础.  相似文献

填充率渐变引起的能带结构和等频面结构的变化是填充率渐变型波状结构二维(2D)光子晶体(PC)产生光路转弯现象的根本原因,由于TM模和TE模在能带结构上存在差异,光路转弯现象就具有明显的偏振选择特性,能够实现归一化频率a/λ为0.29~0.33的偏振分束。利用时域有限差分(FDTD)法模拟了TM模的U型转弯波导,发现出射光位置对入射波长和入射角的变化很敏感,位移变化量分别达到0.38μm/10 nm和0.29μm/(°)。利用TM模的U型转弯波导构建了新型的平行平面谐振腔,并指出由填充率渐变型波状结构二维光子晶体和一维多层薄膜构成的混合结构在光分束和抑制光束发散方面的作用及其在平行平面谐振腔中的潜在应用。  相似文献

The polarization-dependent photonic band gaps (TM and TE polarizations) in two-dimensional photonic crystals with square lattices composed of air holes in dielectric and vice versa i.e., dielectric rods in air, using the plane-wave expansion method are investigated. We then study, how the photonic band gap size is affected by the changing ellipticity of the constituent air holes/dielectric rods. It is observed that the size of the photonic band gap changes with changing ellipticity of the constituent air holes/dielectric rods. Further, it is reported, how the photonic band gap size is affected by the change in the orientation of the constituent elliptical air holes/dielectric rods in 2D photonic crystals.  相似文献

In this paper, a 1D nonlinear plasma photonic crystal (NPPC) structure composed of polarized ferroelectric crystals and nonlinear plasma periodic alternation is proposed. The transfer matrix method is employed to analyze the second harmonic generation (SHG) problem of this structure. In the designed NPPCs, the fundamental wave (FW) operates in the gigahertz (GHz) band and the nonlinear plasma is controlled by an external high-intensity control wave (CW). Numerical simulations are performed to investigate the effects of different incident angles and external CW intensities on the total conversion efficiency (T-con) of the second harmonic wave (SHW). Additionally, the internal electric field distribution and incident light intensity within the nonlinear structure are analyzed. The importance of the relationship between the FW frequency and photonic band gap (PBG) in enhancing SHG is summarized. The results demonstrate that the optimal structure can be obtained by changing the structural parameters, such that the FW and SHW are tuned to the edge of the PBG. At this point, the electromagnetic field density is large, the group velocity is small, the local field is enhanced, and the nonlinear optical interaction is increased, resulting in a significant increase in the T-con of the SHW.  相似文献
