Consider a time-harmonic electromagnetic plane wave incident on a scatterer on a grounded absorbing plane modelized as an infinite impedance plane. In this paper, a new integral representation formula is rigorously derived. Existence and uniqueness of weak solutions for the model problem are also established. The proof of existence is based on an extension of the Hodge decomposition technique to open boundaries. The results reported in this paper form a basis for numerical solutions of the electromagnetic scattering problem from a scatterer on an absorbing plane.  相似文献

The problem of diffraction of a plane acoustic wave from an oscillating rigid strip is studied. The problem is solved by using the temporal and spatial integral transform and the Wiener-Hopf technique. The scattered field in the far zone is determined by the method of steepest descent. The significance of the present analysis is that it recovered the results when a strip is widened to a half plane. Graphical results for the diffraction problem have also been presented.  相似文献

The plane elasticity problem includes plane strain problem and plane stress problem which are widely applied in mechanics and engineering. In this article, we first reduce the plane elasticity problem in the upper half-plane into natural boundary integral equation and then apply wavelet-Galerkin method to deal with the numerical solution of the natural boundary integral equation. The test and trial functions used are the scaling basis functions of Shannon wavelet. In our fast algorithm, the computational formulae of entries of the stiffness matrix yield simple close-form and only 3 K entries need to be computed for one 4 K ‐ 4 K stiffness matrix.  相似文献

The problem of reconstructing a locally Euclidean metric on a disk from the geodesic curvature of the boundary given in the sought metric is considered. This problem is an analog and a generalization of the classical problem of finding a closed plane curve from its curvature given as a function of the arc length. The solution of this problem in our approach can be interpreted as finding a plane domain with the standard Euclidean metric whose boundary has a given geodesic curvature.  相似文献

Summary The boundary-value problem for rods having arbitrary geometry, and subjected to arbitrary loading, is studied within the context of the small-strain theory. The basic assumptions underlying the rod kinematics are those corresponding to the Timoshenko hypotheses in the plane rectilinear case: that is, plane sections normal to the line of centroids in the undeformed state remain plane, but not necessarily normal. The problem is formulated in both the standard and mixed variational forms, and after establishing the existence and uniqueness of solutions to these equivalent problems, the corresponding discrete problems are studied. Finite element approximations of the mixed problem are shown to be stable and convergent. It is shown that the equivalence between the mixed problem and the standard problem with selective reduced integration holds only for the case of rods having constant curvature and torsion, though. The results of numerical experiments are presented; these confirm the convergent behaviour of the mixed problem.  相似文献

We consider a boundary value transmission problem for two-dimensional filtration flows in an anisotropic porous layer consisting of adjacent domains in which the media have essentially different conductivities (permeability and thickness). In general, the layer conductivity is specified by a nonsymmetric second rank tensor whose components are modeled by continuously differentiable functions of coordinates. To study the problem, we use two complex planes, the physical plane and an auxiliary plane, which are related by a homeomorphic (one-to-one and continuous) transformation satisfying an equation of the Beltrami type. On the physical plane, we pose a transmission problem for a rather complicated elliptic system of equations. This problem is reduced on the auxiliary plane to canonical form, which dramatically simplifies the analysis of the problem. Then the problem is reduced to a system of boundary singular integral equations with generalized kernels of the Cauchy type, which are expressed via the fundamental solutions of the main equations. The boundary value transmission problem studied here can be used as a mathematical model of processes arising in the recovery of fluids (water and oil) from natural soil formations of complicated geological structure.  相似文献

The plane problem on the action of an arbitrarily oriented concentrated force, applied at some point of an elastic plane, composed of two different anisotropic half-planes, is considered. By a special choice of a particular solution the problem reduces to a well-known differential equation of the anisotropic theory of elasticity with discontinuous coefficients. The latter reduces, by the method of the integral Fourier transform, to the Riemann boundary value problem. Expressions for the stresses and displacement derivatives at an arbitrary point of the plane are obtained. The problem on the electric current from electrodes in a magnetizedsemiconductor film is reduced to the skew derivative problemfor the Laplace equation outside cuts in a plane. The problemfor the Laplace equation is studied under different conditionsat infinity, which have a certain physical meaning. With thehelp of potential theory, the skew derivative problem is reducedto a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind, which isuniquely solvable. Given n demand points on a plane, the problem we consider is to locate a given number, m, of facilities on the plane so that the maximum of the set of rectilinear distances of each demand point to its nearest facility is minimized. This problem is known as the m-center problem on the plane. A related problem seeks to determine, for a given r, the minimum number of facilities and their locations so as to ensure that every point is within r units of rectilinear distance from its nearest facility. We formulate the latter problem as a problem of covering nodes by cliques of an intersection graph. Certain bounds are established on the size of the problem. An efficient algorithm is provided to generate this set-covering problem. Computational results with this approach are summarized.  相似文献

对于双材料平面接头问题提出了一个分析应力奇性指数的新方法:微分求积法(DQM).首先,将平面接头连接点处位移场的径向渐近展开格式代入平面弹性力学控制方程,获得了关于应力奇性指数的常微分方程组(ODEs)特征值问题.然后,基于DQM理论,将ODEs的特征值问题转化为标准型广义代数方程组特征值问题,求解之可一次性地计算出双材料平面接头连接点处应力奇性指数,同时,一并求出了接头连接点处相应的位移和应力特征函数.数值计算结果说明该文DQM计算平面接头连接点处应力奇性指数的结果是正确的.  相似文献

In the first section of this paper, some non-local boundary value problem for the polyharmonic equation in the plane is considered. This problem consists in determining solution of the polyharmonic equation satisfying some special non-local-type boundary condition on two curves. The existence theorem is proved. In the second section, an example for the case of the biharmonic equation is considered. In the third section, some non-local, non-linear problem of Riquier type is examined. The Riquier-type problem consists in determining the polyharmonic function in the plane whose value together with its successive Laplacians are prescribed on the boundary. A general plane problem of the impression of a flat punch into a rigid-plastic half-space under the action of transverse and longitudinal shear contact stresses is considered. The condition of complete plasticity and the hyperbolic equations of the general plane problem of the theory of ideal plasticity [1] are used. The well-known problem of the rolling without slipping of a heavy circular disc along a horizontal plane is considered. The steady motions of a disc for which the angle between the plane of the disc and the supporting plane (the angle of nutation) is constant are investigated. The problem of the range of variation of the angle of nutation within which the given motions are stable, irrespective of the values of the constants of the two linear first integrals or, in other variables, irrespective of the angular velocities of precession and proper rotation, is investigated. We present a survey of the theory of boundary-value problems in the plane with curvilinear cuts.
