A new relation between morphisms in a category is introduced—roughly speaking (accurately in the categories Set and Top), f ∥ g iff morphisms w:dom(f)→dom(g) never map subobjects of fibres of f non-constantly to fibres of g. (In the algebraic setting replace fibre with kernel.) This relation and a slight weakening of it are used to define “connectedness” versus “disconnectedness” for morphisms. This parallels and generalises the classical treatment of connectedness versus disconnectedness for objects in a category (in terms of constant morphisms). The central items of study are pairs (F,G)({\mathcal F},{\mathcal G}) of classes of morphisms which are corresponding fixed points of the polarity induced by the ∥-relation. Properties of such pairs are examined and in particular their relation to (pre)factorisation systems is analysed. The main theorems characterise:
(a)  factorisation systems which factor morphisms through a regular epimorphic “connected” morphism followed by a “disconnected” morphism, and  相似文献

On the dynamics of composite entire functions   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Letf andg be nonlinear entire functions. The relations between the dynamics off⊗g andg⊗f are discussed. Denote byℐ (·) andF(·) the Julia and Fatou sets. It is proved that ifzC, thenz∈ℐ8464 (f⊗g) if and only ifg(z)∈ℐ8464 (g⊗f); ifU is a component ofF(fg) andV is the component ofF(gg) that containsg(U), thenU is wandering if and only ifV is wandering; ifU is periodic, then so isV and moreover,V is of the same type according to the classification of periodic components asU. These results are used to show that certain new classes of entire functions do not have wandering domains. In this paper, we define the notion of asymptotic spirallikeness (a generalization of asymptotic starlikeness) in the Euclidean space ℂ n . We consider the connection between this notion and univalent subordination chains. We introduce the notions of A-asymptotic spirallikeness and A-parametric representation, where AL(ℂ n , ℂ n ), and prove that if dt < ∞ (this integral is convergent if k +(A) < 2m(A)), then a mapping fS(B n ) is A-asymptotically spirallike if and only if f has A-parametric representation, i.e., if and only if there exists a univalent subordination chain f(z, t) such that D f(0, t) = e At , {e −At f(·, t)} t≥0 is a normal family on B n and f = f(·, 0). In particular, a spirallike mapping with respect to AL(ℂ n , ℂ n ) with dt < ∞ has A-parametric representation. We also prove that if f is a spirallike mapping with respect to an operator A such that A + A* = 2I n , then f has parametric representation (i.e., with respect to the identity). Finally, we obtain some examples of asymptotically spirallike mappings. Partially supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada under Grant A9221. Abstract Under the Lipschitz assumption and square integrable assumption on g, the author proves that Jensen’s inequality holds for backward stochastic differential equations with generator g if and only if g is independent of y, g(t, 0) ≡ 0 and g is super homogeneous with respect to z. This result generalizes the known results on Jensen’s inequality for g- expectation in [4, 7–9]. *Project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No.10325101) and the Science Foundation of China University of Mining and Technology.  相似文献

Let a noncompact Riemann surface R of positive finite genus g be given. If f : RR′ is a conformal mapping of R into a compact Riemann surface R′ of genus g, we have a realization of the ideal boundary of R on the surface R′. We consider (for the fixed R) all the possible R′ and the associated conformal mappings, and study how large the realized boundary can be. To this aim we pass to the (common) universal space ℂ g of the Jacobi variety of any R′ and show that the image sets of the ideal boundary of R in ℂ g are uniformly bounded.

We study traveling waves of a discrete system
where f and g are Lipschitz continuous with g increasing and f monostable, i.e., f(0)=f(1)=0 and f>0 on (0,1). We show that there is a positive c min such that a traveling wave of speed c exists if and only if cc min. Also, we show that traveling waves are unique up to a translation if f′(0)>0>f′(1) and g′(0)>0. The tails of traveling waves are also investigated.  Let G be a graph, and g, f, f′ be positive integer-valued functions defined on V(G). If an f′-factor of G is a spanning tree, we say that it is f′-tree. In this paper, it is shown that G contains a connected (g, f+f′−1)-factor if G has a (g, f)-factor and an f′-tree. Received: October 30, 2000 Final version received: August 20, 2002  相似文献

Let f : M → M′ be a smooth CR mapping between a generic real analytic submanifold M ⊂ ℂ n , n > 1, and a real analytic subset M′ ⊂ ℂ n′ . We prove that if M is minimal and if M′ does not contain any complex curves, then f is analytic on a dense open subset of M. More generally, we establish an upper estimate of the partial analyticity of f, which depends on the maximal dimension of local holomorphic foliations contained in M . The aim of this paper is to extend the classical maximal convergence theory of Bernstein and Walsh for holomorphic functions in the complex plane to real analytic functions in ℝ N . In particular, we investigate the polynomial approximation behavior for functions F:L→ℂ, L={(Re z,Im z):zK}, of the structure F=g[`(h)]F=g\overline{h}, where g and h are holomorphic in a neighborhood of a compact set K⊂ℂ N . To this end the maximal convergence number ρ(S c ,f) for continuous functions f defined on a compact set S c ⊂ℂ N is connected to a maximal convergence number ρ(S r ,F) for continuous functions F defined on a compact set S r ⊂ℝ N . We prove that ρ(L,F)=min {ρ(K,h)),ρ(K,g)} for functions F=g[`(h)]F=g\overline{h} if K is either a closed Euclidean ball or a closed polydisc. Furthermore, we show that min {ρ(K,h)),ρ(K,g)}≤ρ(L,F) if K is regular in the sense of pluripotential theory and equality does not hold in general. Our results are based on the theory of the pluricomplex Green’s function with pole at infinity and Lundin’s formula for Siciak’s extremal function Φ. A properly chosen transformation of Joukowski type plays an important role.  相似文献

We consider the differential operators Ψ k , defined by Ψ1(y) =y and Ψ k+1(y)=yΨ k y+d/dz k (y)) fork ∈ ℕ fork∈ ℕ. We show that ifF is meromorphic in ℂ and Ψ k F has no zeros for somek≥3, and if the residues at the simple poles ofF are not positive integers, thenF has the formF(z)=((k-1)z+a)/(z 2+β z+γ) orF(z)=1/(az+β) where α, β, γ ∈ ℂ. If the residues at the simple poles ofF are bounded away from zero, then this also holds fork=2. We further show that, under suitable additional conditions, a family of meromorphic functionsF is normal if each Ψ k (F) has no zeros. These conditions are satisfied, in particular, if there exists δ>0 such that Re (Res(F, a)) <−δ for all polea of eachF in the family. Using the fact that Ψ k (f /f) =f (k)/f, we deduce in particular that iff andf (k) have no zeros for allf in some familyF of meromorphic functions, wherek≥2, then {f /f :fF} is normal. We consider the theory of constant rank projective mappings of compact Riemannian manifolds from the global point of view. We study projective immersions and submersions. As an example of the results, letf:(M, g) → (N, g′) be a projective submersion of anm-dimensional Riemannian manifold (M, g) onto an (m−1)-dimensional Riemannian manifold (N, g′). Then (M, g) is locally the Riemannian product of the sheets of two integrable distributions Kerf * and (Kerf *) whenever (M, g) is one of the two following types: (a) a complete manifold with Ric ≥ 0; (b) a compact oriented manifold with Ric ≤ 0. For a polynomial automorphism f of ?2 , we set τ = deg f 2)/(deg f). We prove that τ≤ 1 if and only if f is triangularizable. In this situation, we show (by using a deep result from number theory known as the theorem of Skolem–Mahler–Lech) that the sequence (deg f n ) n ∈ℕ is periodic for large n. In the opposite case, we prove that τ is an integer (τ≥ 2) and that the sequence (deg f n ) n ∈ℕ is a geometric progression of ratio τ. In particular, if f is any automorphism, we obtain the rationality of the formal series . Received: 1 December 1997  相似文献

We give a precise estimate of the Bergman kernel for the model domain defined by Ω F = “(z,w) ∈ ℂ n+1: Im w − |F(z)|2 > 0”, where F = (f 1, ..., f m ) is a holomorphic map from ℂ n to ℂ m , in terms of the complex singularity exponent of F.  相似文献

In this paper we consider special elements of the Fock space #x2131; n . That is the space of entire functionsf:ℂ: n →ℂ, such that the followingL 2- condition is satisfied: . Here we show that there exists an entire functiong:ℂ n →ℂ such that for every one-dimensional subspace Π⊂ℂ n and for all 0<∈<2 we have , but in the limit case ∈=0 we have . This result is analogue to a result from [1]. There holomorphic functions on the unit-ball are investigated. Furthermore the proof — as the one in [1] — uses a theorem from [2]. Therefore we give another application of the results from [2] — namely for spaces of entire functions.  相似文献

Letf be a holomorphic self-map of the punctured plane ℂ*=ℂ\{0} with essentially singular points 0 and ∞. In this note, we discuss the setsI 0(f)={z ∈ ℂ*:f n (z) → 0,n → ∞} andI (f)={z ∈ ℂ*:f n (z) → 0,n → ∞}. We try to find the relation betweenI 0(f),I (t) andJ(f). It is proved that both the boundary ofI 0(f) and the boundary ofI )f) equal toJ(f),I 0(f) ∩J(f) ≠ θ andI (f) ∩J(f) ≠ θ. As a consequence of these results, we find bothI 0(f) andI (f) are not doubly-bounded. Supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China  相似文献

Let G be a multigraph, g and f be integer-valued functions defined on V(G). Then a graph G is called a (g, f)-graph if g(x)≤deg G(x)≤f(x) for each xV(G), and a (g, f)-factor is a spanning (g, f)-subgraph. If the edges of graph G can be decomposed into (g, f)-factors, then we say that G is (g, f)-factorable. In this paper, we obtained some sufficient conditions for a graph to be (g, f)-factorable. One of them is the following: Let m be a positive integer, l be an integer with l=m (mod 4) and 0≤l≤3. If G is an -graph, then G is (g, f)-factorable. Our results imply several previous (g, f)-factorization results. Revised: June 11, 1998  相似文献

Let Gn,k denote the oriented grassmann manifold of orientedk-planes in ℝn. It is shown that for any continuous mapf: Gn,k → Gn,k, dim Gn,k = dim Gm,l = l(m −l), the Brouwer’s degree is zero, providedl > 1,n ≠ m. Similar results for continuous mapsg: ℂGm,l → ℂGn,k,h: ℍGm,l → ℍGn,k, 1 ≤ l < k ≤ n/2, k(n — k) = l(m — l) are also obtained.  相似文献
