介绍了基于离散元法的干湿颗粒系统仿真软件DEMSIM。对于干颗粒系统,DEMSIM可以分析二维和三维颗粒系统的弹性和塑性接触碰撞过程;对于湿颗粒系统,DEMSIM采用传统的液桥模型;对于颗粒-流体系统,DEMSIM采用CFD-DEM细观耦合模型模拟。一系列典型算例的模拟分析,验证了干湿颗粒系统仿真软件DEMSIM的精度和有效性。  相似文献

We investigate the effect of particle shape on the transportation mechanism in well-drilling using a three-dimensional model that couples computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with the discrete element method (DEM). This numerical method allows us to incorporate the fluid–particle interactions (drag force, contact force, Saffman lift force, Magnus lift force, buoyancy force) using momentum exchange and the non-Newtonian behavior of the fluid. The interactions of particle−particle, particle−wall, and particle−drill pipe are taken into account with the Hertz–Mindlin model. We compare the transport of spheres with non-spherical particles (non-smooth sphere, disc, and cubic) constructed via the multi-sphere method for a range of fluid inlet velocities and drill pipe inclination angles. The simulations are carried out for laboratory-scale drilling configurations. Our results demonstrate good agreement with published experimental data. We evaluate the fluid–particle flow patterns, the particle velocities, and the particle concentration profiles. The results reveal that particle sphericity plays a major role in the fluid–solid interaction. The traditional assumption of an ideal spherical particle may cause inaccurate results.  相似文献

The large-amplitude motions of a one degree-of-freedom model of orthogonal cutting are analysed. The model takes the form of a delay differential equation which is non-smooth at the instant at which the tool loses contact with the workpiece, and which is coupled to an algebraic equation that stores the profile of the cut surface whilst the tool is not in contact. This system is approximated by a smooth delay differential equation without algebraic effects which is analysed with numerical continuation software. The grazing bifurcation that defines the onset of chattering motion is thus analysed as are secondary (period-doubling, etc.) bifurcations of chattering orbits, and convergence of the bifurcation diagrams is established in the vanishing limit of the smoothing parameters. The bifurcation diagrams of the smoothed system are then compared with initial value simulations of the full non-smooth delay differential algebraic equation. These simulations mostly validate the smoothing technique and show in detail how chaotic chattering dynamics emerge from the non-smooth bifurcations of periodic orbits.  相似文献

The influences of particle size on the mechanical properties of the particulate metal matrix composite are obviously displayed in the experimental observations. However, the phenomenon can not be predicted directly using the conventional elastic-plastic theory. It is because that no length scale parameters are involved in the conventional theory. In the present research, using the strain gradient plasticity theory, a systematic research of the particle size effect in the particulate metal matrix composite is carried out. The roles of many composite factors, such as: the particle size, the Young's modulus of the particle, the particle aspect ratio and volume fraction, as well as the plastic strain hardening exponent of the matrix material, are studied in detail. In order to obtain a general understanding for the composite behavior, two kinds of particle shapes, ellipsoid and cylinder, are considered to check the strength dependence of the smooth or non-smooth particle surface. Finally, the prediction results will be applied to the several experiments about the ceramic particle-reinforced metal-matrix composites. The material length scale parameter is predicted. This paper concerns modelling and time-domain simulation of the dynamics of systems featuring a freeplay non-linearity. The topic of stability is also addressed. We propose to develop a reduced order model based on mode synthesis where the DOF that might have contact are separated from the regular substructures. This formulation allows for a direct application of Moreau's theory for non-smooth dynamics of contact problems. The methodologies developed are applied to a fluid-structure coupled system as given by an aircraft wing with freeplay in the control surface connection.  相似文献

为了准确地模拟海冰的动力过程,需要建立精确有效的数值方法。本文结合质点网格法(PIC)和光滑质点流体动力学方法(SPH)发展了一种改进的PIC方法。该方法在欧拉坐标下对海冰动量方程进行差分计算,在拉格朗日坐标下进行海冰质点位移、厚度和密集度计算,并采用Gauss函数进行欧拉网格点与拉格朗日质点间海冰参数的交互插值。采用改进的PIC方法对规则区域内的海冰堆积过程进行了数值试验,对渤海海冰的动力过程进行了72小时数值模拟。计算结果均表明改进的PIC方法具有计算量小,计算结果平稳精确的优点,可很好地适用于海冰动力作用过程的数值模拟。  相似文献

空间可展机构广泛应用于展开和支撑柔性太阳能帆板和航天工程领域中的有效载荷, 包括抛物面天线、平面相控阵雷达和合成孔径雷达等. 非光滑特性及其相应的动力学现象在空间可展机构的设计中有着非常重要的作用. 该文系统地综述了空间可展机构非光滑力学建模与非线性动力学的研究进展. 首先详细描述了含间隙铰链的接触碰撞力和摩擦力等非光滑特点;然后系统地介绍了含间隙机构的动力学建模方法、分析方法和参数设计;进一步简单介绍了含间隙铰链空间可展机构的非线性动力学特性, 如谐波共振、周期运动的稳定性和各类分岔等;最后提出了空间可展机构非光滑动力系统动力学、稳定性与控制中亟待解决的若干问题.  相似文献

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is being used increasingly in the design and analysis of particle-laden flows. A significant challenge of this work is in correctly predicting the interaction of the fluid turbulence with the particulate phase. Typically, Lagrangian tracking is used to calculate the particle trajectories with stochastic treatments used to provide an instantaneous turbulent flow field. The stochastic calculations are based on the mean velocities and turbulence quantities calculated by the CFD solver. The current work examines the correlated stochastic separated flow (SSF) model used to synthesize the instantaneous fluid velocity field. Two functional forms of the Eulerian spatial correlation are considered: exponential, and Frenkiel with loop parameter m equal to unity. It is well known that the use of a Frenkiel function is incorrect due to the Markovian nature of the model. Nonetheless, a literature review indicates that the Frenkiel function is still being used in the CFD community. In order to illustrate the implications of this, numerical predictions are compared to Taylor's analytical result for fluid particle dispersion in homogeneous isotropic turbulence. Excellent predictions are obtained with the exponential correlation and recommendations on timestep requirements are made. In contrast, predictions from the Frenkiel model are in poor agreement with Taylor's solution. This poor agreement results from an inconsistency between the effective correlation of fluid velocities arising from the model and the original intended correlation.  相似文献

The experimental characterization of particle dynamics in fluidized beds is of great importance in fostering an understanding of solid phase motion and its effect on particle properties in granulation processes. Commonly used techniques such as particle image velocimetry rely on the cross-correlation of illumination intensity and averaging procedures. It is not possible to obtain single particle velocities with such techniques. Moreover, the estimated velocities may not accurately represent the local particle velocities in regions with high velocity gradients. Consequently, there is a need for devices and methods that are capable of acquiring individual particle velocities. This paper describes how particle tracking velocimetry can be adapted to dense particulate flows. The approach presented in this paper couples high-speed imaging with an innovative segmentation algorithm for particle detection, and employs the Voronoi method to solve the assignment problem usually encountered in densely seeded flows. Lagrangian particle tracks are obtained as primary information, and these serve as the basis for calculating sophisticated quantities such as the solid-phase flow field, granular temperature, and solid volume fraction. We show that the consistency of individual trajectories is sufficient to recognize collision events.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to develop a set-valued contact law for combined spatial Coulomb–Contensou friction, taking into account a normal friction torque (drilling friction) and spin. The set-valued Coulomb–Contensou friction law is derived from a non-smooth velocity pseudo potential. A higher-order Runge–Kutta time-stepping method is presented for the numerical simulation of rigid bodies with Coulomb–Contensou friction. The algebraic inclusion describing the contact problem is solved with an Augmented Lagrangian approach. The theory and numerical methods are applied to the Tippe-Top. The analysis and numerical results on the Tippe-Top illustrate the importance of Coulomb–Contensou friction for the dynamics of systems with friction.  相似文献

The accuracy of dense Discrete Element Method (DEM) simulations is sensitive to initial density, contact orientation, particle size and shape, and interparticle interaction parameters including contact stiffness, cohesion, coefficients of friction, and coefficients of restitution. Although studies have characterized the effects of individual particle interaction parameters on mechanical responses of loaded granular material, research combining DEM parameters for calibration is scarce. Robust DEM calibration methodology combining sliding and rolling friction coefficients was developed and validated to predict bulk residual soil strength of initially dense DEM particle assemblies.  相似文献

The LB-DF/FD method derived from the Lattice Boltzmann Method and direct forcing/fictitious domain method is used to numerically investigate the dynamics and interaction of two elliptical particles settling in an infinitely long channel. One particle (EP0) is initially kept horizontal (major axis perpendicular to sedimentation) for all simulations while the other's (EP1) orientation is varied. It is found that if EP1strays away from horizontality, the particles undergo transitions from a steady state to reach a chaotic state. Furthermore, there are two distinct chaotic states for the particle motion when EP1 orientation is varied, in which a turning point is observed to distinguish the two states.  相似文献

在建立车辆纵向多体系统的动力学模型中, 将车身与车轮视为刚体, 两者通过减振器链接; 将传动系统视为一个圆盘通过扭簧和阻尼器与驱动轮连接; 将车轮与路面间的接触力简化为法向约束力、摩擦力和滚阻力偶,其中摩擦力的模型采用库仑干摩擦模型. 采用笛卡尔坐标作为该系统的广义坐标用于描述该系统的位形, 给出系统单双边的约束方程, 应用第一类拉格朗日方法建立了系统的动力学方程. 由于摩擦与滚阻的非光滑性, 使得该系统动力学方程不连续. 为便于计算, 建立了车轮与路面接触点的相对切向加速度与摩擦力余量的互补条件、车轮角加速度与滚阻力偶余量的互补条件, 以及车轮轮心法向加速度与路面法向约束力的互补条件. 将接触—分离、黏滞—滑移的判断问题转化成线性互补问题的求解, 并给出了具有约束稳定化的基于事件驱动法的数值计算方法. 最后, 应用该方法对车辆纵向多体系统进行了仿真, 分析了输出扭矩、摩擦及滚阻系数对其动力学行为的影响.   相似文献

采用非光滑多体系统动力学的方法研究浮放物体与基础平台组成的多体系统,建立其非光滑接触的动力学方程与数值算法.浮放物体由主体部分和支撑腿组成,其间通过含黏弹性阻力偶的转动铰连接.支撑腿与基础平台间的接触力简化为接触点的法向接触力和摩擦力,采用扩展的赫兹接触力模型描述接触点的法向接触力,采用库伦干摩擦模型描述其摩擦力.采用笛卡尔坐标系下的位形坐标作为系统的广义坐标.首先,将基础平台运动看作非定常约束,用第一类拉格朗日方程建立系统的动力学方程,并采用鲍姆加藤约束稳定化的方法解决违约问题.随后给出基于事件驱动法和线性互补方法的数值算法.当相对切向速度为零时,构造静滑动摩擦力的正负余量和正、负向加速度的互补关系,从而将接触点黏滞——滑移切换的判断以及静滑动摩擦力的计算转化为线性互补问题进行求解,并采用Lemke算法求解线性互补问题.最后,通过数值仿真选择合适的步长;通过仿真结果说明浮放物体运动中存在的黏滞-滑移切换现象以及基础平台运动、质心位置对浮放物体运动的影响.  相似文献

Numerical simulations of heat transfer in non-isothermal particulate flows are important to better understand the flow pattern. The complexity of numerical algorithms coupling the heat and mass transfer and the considerable computational resources required limit the number of such direct simulations that can be reasonably performed. We suggest a Distributed Lagrange Multiplier/Fictitious Domain (DLM/FD) method to compute the temperature distribution and the heat exchange between the fluid and solid phases. The Boussinesq approximation is considered for the flow/temperature fields coupling. We employ a Finite Element Method (FEM) to solve the fluid flow conservation equations for mass, momentum and energy. The motion of particles is computed by a Discrete Element Method (DEM). On each particle, heat transfer is solved using a FEM. For each class of particles, we generate a single FEM grid and translate/rotate it at each time step to match the physical configuration of each particle. Distributed Lagrange multipliers for both the velocity and temperature fields are introduced to treat the fluid/solid interaction. This work is an extension of the method we proposed in Yu et al. (2006). Two two-dimensional (2D) test cases are proposed to validate the implementation by comparing our computational results with those reported in the literature. Finally, the sedimentation of a single sphere in a semi-infinite channel is presented and the results are discussed.  相似文献

The impact problem of a flexible multibody system is a non-smooth, high-transient, and strong-nonlinear dynamic process with variable boundary. How to model the contact/impact process accurately and efficiently is one of the main difficulties in many engineering applications. The numerical approaches being used widely in impact analysis are mainly from two fields: multibody system dynamics (MBS) and computational solid mechanics (CSM). Approaches based on MBS provide a more efficient yet less accurate analysis of the contact/impact problems, while approaches based on CSM are well suited for particularly high accuracy needs, yet require very high computational effort. To bridge the gap between accuracy and efficiency in the dynamic simulation of a flexible multibody system with contacts/impacts, a partition method is presented considering that the contact body is divided into two parts, an impact region and a non-impact region. The impact region is modeled using the finite element method to guarantee the local accuracy, while the non-impact region is modeled using the modal reduction approach to raise the global efficiency. A three-dimensional rod-plate impact experiment is designed and performed to validate the numerical results. The principle for how to partition the contact bodies is proposed: the maximum radius of the impact region can be estimated by an analytical method, and the modal truncation orders of the non-impact region can be estimated by the highest frequency of the signal measured. The simulation results using the presented method are in good agreement with the experimental results. It shows that this method is an effective formulation considering both accuracy and efficiency. Moreover, a more complicated multibody impact problem of a crank slider mechanism is investigated to strengthen this conclusion.  相似文献

The motion of a windshield wiper blade is modelled by a mass-spring-damper system on a moving frictional surface. The system dynamics is time-varying, since three different regimes of motion, characterized by different degrees of freedom, are possible. Indeed the system, which schematizes a blade cross-section, can experience stick and slip motions when it is in contact with the glass surface, and free-flight motion when it is detached. The contact between the system and the surface is governed by Stribeck׳s friction law and Poisson׳s impact law, which make the dynamics non-smooth. The model is numerically implemented in an event-driven code, and simulations are performed which reproduce the three basic classes of undesired oscillations observed in the motion of real windscreen wipers, i.e., squeal, reversal and chattering noises. Attention is focused on the causes of these vibrations, and remedies for reducing or avoiding them are proposed.  相似文献
