We show that the Drinfeld-Sokolov reduction can be framed in the general theory of bihamiltonian manifolds, with the help of a specialized version of a reduction theorem for Poisson manifolds by Marsden and Ratiu. This work has been supported by the Italian MURST and by the GNFM of the Italian C.N.R.  相似文献

Vector fields whose flow preserves a symplectic form up to a constant, such as simple mechanical systems with friction, are called “conformal”. We develop a reduction theory for symmetric conformal Hamiltonian systems, analogous to symplectic reduction theory. This entire theory extends naturally to Poisson systems: given a symmetric conformal Poisson vector field, we show that it induces two reduced conformal Poisson vector fields, again analogous to the dual pair construction for symplectic manifolds. Conformal Poisson systems form an interesting infinite-dimensional Lie algebra of foliate vector fields. Manifolds supporting such conformal vector fields include cotangent bundles, Lie–Poisson manifolds, and their natural quotients.  相似文献

General boundary conditions (branes') for the Poisson sigma model are studied. They turn out to be labeled by coisotropic submanifolds of the given Poisson manifold. The role played by these boundary conditions both at the classical and at the perturbative quantum level is discussed. It turns out to be related at the classical level to the category of Poisson manifolds with dual pairs as morphisms and at the perturbative quantum level to the category of associative algebras (deforming algebras of functions on Poisson manifolds) with bimodules as morphisms. Possibly singular Poisson manifolds arising from reduction enter naturally into the picture and, in particular, the construction yields (under certain assumptions) their deformation quantization.  相似文献

It is shown that the singular Poisson reduction procedure can be improved for a large class of situations. In addition, Poisson reduction of orbit type manifolds is carried out in detail.  相似文献

The version of Marsden-Ratiu reduction theorem for Nambu-Poisson manifolds by a regular distribution has been studied by Ibáñez et al. In this paper we show that the reduction is always ensured unless the distribution is zero. Next we extend the more general Falceto-Zambon Poisson reduction theorem for Nambu-Poisson manifolds. Finally, we define gauge transformations of Nambu-Poisson structures and show that these transformations commute with the reduction procedure.  相似文献

Reduction of Poisson manifolds   总被引:9,自引:0,他引:9
Reduction in the category of Poisson manifolds is defined and some basic properties are derived. The context is chosen to include the usual theorems on reduction of symplectic manifolds, as well as results such as the Dirac bracket and the reduction to the Lie-Poisson bracket.Research supported by DOE contract DE-AT03-85ER 12097.Supported by an A. This paper is intended both as an introduction to the algebraic geometry of holomorphic Poisson brackets, and as a survey of results on the classification of projective Poisson manifolds that have been obtained in the past 20 years. It is based on the lecture series delivered by the author at the Poisson 2016 Summer School in Geneva. The paper begins with a detailed treatment of Poisson surfaces, including adjunction, ruled surfaces and blowups, and leading to a statement of the full birational classification. We then describe several constructions of Poisson threefolds, outlining the classification in the regular case, and the case of rank-one Fano threefolds (such as projective space). Following a brief introduction to the notion of Poisson subspaces, we discuss Bondal’s conjecture on the dimensions of degeneracy loci on Poisson Fano manifolds. We close with a discussion of log symplectic manifolds with simple normal crossings degeneracy divisor, including a new proof of the classification in the case of rank-one Fano manifolds.  相似文献

We present a quick review of several reduction techniques for symplectic and Poisson manifolds using local and global symmetries compatible with these structures. Reduction based on the standard momentum map (symplectic or Marsden–Weinstein reduction) and on generalized distributions (the optimal momentum map and optimal reduction) is emphasized. Reduction of Poisson brackets is also discussed and it is shown how it defines induced Poisson structures on cosymplectic and coisotropic submanifolds.  相似文献

We formulate and discuss a reduction theorem for Poisson pencils associated with a class of integrable systems, defined on bi-Hamiltonian manifolds, recently studied by Gel'fand and Zakharevich. The reduction procedure is suggested by the bi-Hamiltonian approach to the separation of variables problem.  相似文献

Poisson Quasi-Nijenhuis Manifolds   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We introduce the notion of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis manifolds generalizing Poisson-Nijenhuis manifolds of Magri-Morosi. We also investigate the integration problem of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis manifolds. In particular, we prove that, under some topological assumption, Poisson (quasi)-Nijenhuis manifolds are in one-one correspondence with symplectic (quasi)-Nijenhuis groupoids. As an application, we study generalized complex structures in terms of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis manifolds. We prove that a generalized complex manifold corresponds to a special class of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis structures. As a consequence, we show that a generalized complex structure integrates to a symplectic quasi-Nijenhuis groupoid, recovering a theorem of Crainic. We propose a generalization of the reduction of Poisson manifolds by distributions introduced by Marsden and Ratiu. Our proposal overcomes some of the restrictions of the original procedure, and makes the reduced Poisson structure effectively dependent on the distribution. Different applications are discussed, as well as the algebraic interpretation of the procedure and its formulation in terms of Dirac structures.  相似文献

A reduction theorem for Jacobi–Nijenhuis manifolds is established and its relation with the reduction of homogeneous Poisson–Nijenhuis structures is shown. Reduction under Lie group actions is also studied.  相似文献

This paper develops the theory of singular reduction for implicit Hamiltonian systems admitting a symmetry Lie group. The reduction is performed at a singular value of the momentum map. This leads to a singular reduced topological space which is not a smooth manifold. A topological Dirac structure on this space is defined in terms of a generalized Poisson bracket and a vector space of derivations, both being defined on a set of smooth functions. A corresponding Hamiltonian formalism is described. It is shown that solutions of the original system descend to solutions of the reduced system. Finally, if the generalized Poisson bracket is nondegenerate, then the singular reduced space can be decomposed into a set of smooth manifolds called pieces. The singular reduced system restricts to a regular reduced implicit Hamiltonian system on each of these pieces. The results in this paper naturally extend the singular reduction theory as previously developed for symplectic or Poisson Hamiltonian systems.  相似文献

We study contact structures on nonnegatively graded manifolds equipped with homological contact vector fields. In the degree 1 case, we show that there is a one-to-one correspondence between such structures (with fixed contact form) and Jacobi manifolds. This correspondence allows us to reinterpret the Poissonization procedure, taking Jacobi manifolds to Poisson manifolds, as a supergeometric version of symplectization.  相似文献

The theory of Nambu–Poisson structures on manifolds is extended to the context of Lie algebroids in a natural way based on the derived bracket associated with the Lie algebroid differential. A new way of combining Nambu–Poisson structures and triangular Lie bialgebroids is described in this work. Also, we introduce the concept of a higher order Dirac structure on a Lie algebroid. This allows to describe both Nambu–Poisson structures and Dirac structures on manifolds in the same setting.  相似文献

Poisson manifolds are the classical analogue of associative algebras. For Poisson manifolds, symplectic realizations play a similar role as representations do for associative algebras. In this paper, the notion of Morita equivalence of Poisson manifolds, a classical analogue of Morita equivalence of algebras, is introduced and studied. It is proved that Morita equivalent Poisson manifolds have equivalent categories of complete symplectic realizations. For certain types of Poisson manifolds, the geometric invariants of Morita equivalence are also investigated.  相似文献

In this letter, we study some invariants of integrable twisted Poisson manifolds under Morita equivalence. We show that two twisted symplectic manifolds are Morita equivalent if and only if their fundamental groups are isomorphic. Moreover, the first cohomology group of twisted Poisson manifolds is invariant under Morita equivalence. Finally, we prove that if two twisted Poisson manifolds are Morita equivalent, then their representation categories are equivalent.   相似文献

Symmetries of Poisson manifolds are in general quantized just to symmetries up to homotopy of the quantized algebra of functions. It is therefore interesting to study symmetries up to homotopy of Poisson manifolds. We notice that they are equivalent to Poisson principal bundles and describe their quantization to symmetries up to homotopy of the quantized algebras of functions, using the formality theorem of Kontsevich.Supported in part by the Swiss National Science Foundation  相似文献
