Summary Ten complexes of nickel(II) and cobalt(II) witho-phenylenebis(diphenylarsine), (pdpa) ando-phenylenebis(di-p-tolylarsine), (pdta) have been synthesised. The stoichiometry of complexes is markedly dependent upon the reaction temperature, thus reaction atca. 0° gives the M(A-A)2X2 chelates, [M = Ni, X = Br, (A-A) = pdpa; M = Ni, X = I, (A-A) = pdpa, pdta; M = Co, X = CNS, (A-A) = pdpa] whereas at higher temperatures the M(A-A)X2 chelates [M = Ni, X = Br, I, (A-A) = pdpa, pdta; M = Co, X = CNS, (A-A) = pdpa or pdta] are obtained. The Ni(A-A)2I2 compounds can be converted into Ni(A-A)I2 by boiling under reflux in n-BuOH; the conversion can be reversed by cooling a CH2Cl2 solution of the latter at or below 0°. Stereochemical assignments of all the new complexes have been made on the basis of room temperature eff values, molar conductance, i.r. and u.v. data.  相似文献

Preparation and properties of nickel(II) and cobalt(II) chelates of the bidentate ligand trans-2-ethylthio-cyclohexyl-phenylphosphine (ÄMCPP) are described. Three types of nickel(II) complexes have been obtained from ÄMCPP: the four-coordinated, square planar [Ni(ÄMCPP)2]X2 (X = J, Br, ClO4); five-coordinated [Ni(ÄMCPP)2X]X (X = Cl, NCS), [Ni(ÄMCPP)2X]BPh4 (X = Cl, NCS) and the octahedral [Ni(ÄMCPP)2Cl2]. Cobalt(II) forms tetrahedral 1.1-[Co(ÄMCPP)X2] (X = Br, Cl) and 1.2-Co(ÄMCPP)2X2(X = Br, Cl, NCS) complexes. All compounds were characterized by electronic reflectance and absorption spectra, conductivity and magnetic measurements.  相似文献

Summary A series of 20–24 membered macrocyclic dinuclear transition metal complexes [M2L1X4]-[M2L4X4] (M = NiII, CuII or ZnII; X = Cl or NO3) have been synthesized by template condensation of diethylenetriamine with dicarboxylic acids. The bonding and stereochemistry of the complexes have been characterized by i.r.,1H-n.m.r., e.p.r. and electronic spectral studies, magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. The Ni and Zn complexes exhibit octahedral geometry around the metal ion, whereas the Cu complexes possess a distorted octahedral geometry. Each metal ion is coordinated by two amide nitrogens and two secondary nitrogens of the diethylenetriamine moiety; the fifth and sixth coordination sites are occupied by the anions.  相似文献

Summary The reaction of warm alcoholic solutions of acetates of CoII, MnII, ZnII and NiII with 2, 6-diacetylpyridine andS-methylisothiosemicarbazide hydrogen iodide yielded the complexes: [Co(H2L)I2]·H2O, [Mn(H2L)(MeOH)2]I2, [Zn(H2L)(MeOH)I]I and [Ni(HL)]I, (H2L=the pentadentate pentaaza-ligand 2, 6-diacetylpyridine bis(S-methylisothiosemicarbazone)). The reaction of methanolic solutions of [Ni(HL)]I and NH4NCS or LiOAc.2H2O, give [Ni(HL)]NCS and NiL, respectively. For the complexes of CoII, MnII and ZnII, a pentagonal bipyramidal configuration is proposed, with H2L in the equatorial plane and two unidentate ligands (I and/or MeOH) in the axial positions. The complexes [Ni(HL)]X (X=I or NCS) and NiL probably have monomeric five- and dimeric six-coordinate structures, respectively, in which only the chelate ligand is involved in coordination.  相似文献

Summary New complexes of general formulae [Ni(HL)2], [ML]·H2O and [Cu(HL)X] (H2L = pyrrole-2-aldehyde Schiff bases ofS-methyl- andS-benzyldithiocarbazates; X = Cl or Br; M = NiII, CuII, ZnII or CdII) were prepared and characterized by a variety of physicochemical techniques. The Schiff bases coordinate as NS bidentate chelating agents in [Ni(HL)2] and [Cu(HL)X], and as tridentate NNS chelates in [ML] (M = NiII, CuII, ZnII or CdII). Both the [Ni(HL)2] and [NiL] complexes are diamagnetic and square-planar. Based on magnetic and spectroscopic evidence, thiolate sulphur-bridged dimeric square-planar structures are assigned to the [Cu(HL)X] and [ML] (M = NiII or CuII) complexes. The complexes ML (M = ZnII or CdII) are polymeric and octahedral.  相似文献

Summary The synthesis and coordination behaviour of 1-allylbenzotriazole (ABT), containing both -donating heterocyclic ring nitrogen(s) and a -bonding olefinic group, has been studied by complexation with CoII, NiII, CuII, CuI and AgI salts. The solid complexes M(ABT)2X2 (M=Co, Ni or Cu and X=a counterion) and M(ABT)X (M=Cu or Ag and X=Br, I, or NO3) have been characterised by1H-n.m.r. (representative CuI species) and other physical data. Different modes coordination for the title ligand have been proposed based upon i.r. data which indicate the participation of a -donating ring nitrogen only in complexes with bivalent metal salts, and the involvement of both the ring nitrogen and the allylic olefinic component in bonding to a monovalent metal ion.1H-n.m.r. data are qualitatively commensurate with participation of the allyl group in monovalent metal complexes.  相似文献

Summary Metal(II) bis-chelates of the type ML2nB [M=CoII, NiII, and CuII, L=1-hydroxy-2-naphthyl(4-X-styryl)ketone, (X=H, Me, Cl, MeO), B=H2O, Py; n=0, 2] have been prepared and characterised by element analyses, i.r., ligand field spectra, magnetic moments and thermal studies. The copper(II) chelates are anhydrous monomers oftrans-square-planar configuration. The cobalt(II) and nickel(II) chelates, obtained as dihydrates, possess a high-spintrans-octahedral structure. Their anhydrides are polymeric. All the pyridine adducts have high-spintrans-octahedral geometry. The (M–O), order, namely Cu >Ni>Co, parallels the Irving-Williams order. The weak ligand field strength of 1-hydroxy-2-naphthyl(4-X-styryl)ketones is ascribed to inhibition of extensive conjugation arising from deviation of the naphthoyl group from planarity.  相似文献

Summary Vanillin thiosemicarbazone (VTSC) has been used to isolate the complexes of the types [M(VTSC)2(H2O)2]X2 (M=MnII, FeII, CoII, or NiII and X=Cl) and [M(VTSC)X2]H2O (M=CuII, ZnII, CdII or HgII and X=Cl). Probable structures of these complexes are suggested on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic moment and electronic and i.r. spectral data. The fungicidal activity of VTSC and the isolated complexes has been evaluated on pathogenic fungi,Alternaria (Sp.),Paecilomyces (Sp.) andPestalotia (Sp.).On leave from the University of Myosore.  相似文献

Summary Nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of 2,5-dimethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole Ni(DTZ)X2 (X = Cl or Br) and M(DTZ)2X2 (M = Ni, X = 1 or N03; M = Cu, X = Cl, Br or NO3) have been prepared. The i.r. spectra show that in all the complexes the ligand is N,N- or N-bonded to the metal while the sulfur atom does not participate in coordination, and that the halide ions are coordinated forming terminal M-X bonds. The NO 3 - group is coordinated in both the nitrato complexes. Magnetic moments of 3.07–3.29 B.M. for the nickel(II) and 1.86–1.92 B.M. for the copper(II) complexes were observed. The Ni(DTZ)X2 complexes have a pseudo-tetrahedral [N2X2] coordination with N,N-bridging ligand molecules. The Ni(DTZ)2X2 and Cu(DTZ)2X2 complexes, with predominantly monodentate ligand, involve six-coordinate metal atoms with strong equatorial [N2X2] bonds and weaker axial bonds.Author to whom all correspondence should be directed.  相似文献

CoII,III, NiII, and CuII complexes of new dehydroacetic acid N4-substituted thiosemicarbazones have been studied. The substituted thiosemicarbazones, N4-dimethyl-(DA4DM), N4-diethyl-(DA4DE), 3-piperidyl-(DApip) and 3-hexamethyleneiminyl-(DAhexim), when reacted with the metal chlorides, produced two CoII complexes, [Co(DA4DE)Cl2] and [Co(DAhexim)2Cl2]; two CoIII complexes, [Co(DA4DM-H)2Cl] and [Co(DApip-H)(DApip-2H)]; a paramagnetic NiII complex, [Ni(DAhexim)(DAhexim-H)Cl]; three diamagnetic NiII complexes, [Ni(DA4DM-H)Cl], [Ni(DA4DE-H)Cl] and [Ni(DApip-H)Cl]; and four CuII complexes with the analogous stoichiometry of the latter three NiII complexes. These new thiosemicarbazones have been characterized by their melting points, as well as i.r., electronic and 1H-n.m.r. spectra. The metal complexes have been characterized by i.r. and electronic spectra, and when possible, n.m.r. and e.s.r. spectra, as well as elemental analyses, molar conductivities, and magnetic susceptibilities. The crystal and molecular structure of the four-coordinate CuII complex, [Cu(DAhexim-H)Cl] has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction and the anionic ligand coordinates via an oxygen of the dehydroacetic acid and the thiosemicarbazone moiety's imine nitrogen and thione sulfur.  相似文献

Summary The reactions of K2[MX4] (M = PdII or PtII and X = Cl or Br) witho-aminobenzylamine (o-aba) have been studied in neutral aqueous solutions. Two types of complexes were isolated from these studies: [MLX2] and [ML2]X2. Elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, i.r. and visible spectra suggest polymeric structures for [MLX2] with the ligand,o-aba = L, acting as a bridge, and/or mononuclear structures for [ML2]X2.  相似文献

Summary 2-Acetylpyridine N(4)-dihexyl- and N(4)-dicyclohexylthiosemicarbazone, HAc4DHex and HAc4DCHex, respectively, and FeIII, CoII, CoIII, NiII, CuII and ZnII complexes have been prepared and characterized by molar conductivities, magnetic susceptibilities and spectroscopic techniques. For many of the complexes, loss of the N(2)H hydrogen occurs, and the ligands coordinate to the metal centres as NNS monoanionic, tridentate ligands, e.g., [M(NNS)X] (M = CoII, NiII, CuII, NNS = Ac4DHex or Ac4DCHex and X = Cl or Br), [Fe(NNS)2]ClO4, [Co(NNS)2]BF4, [Cu(NNS)NO3] and [Zn(NNS)OAc]. ZnII ion is also chelated by neutral ligands in [Zn(HNNS)X2] (X = Cl, Br). In addition, [Ni(Ac4DHex)-(HAc4DHex)]X (X = BF4, ClO4) and [Ni(HAc4DCHex)2]-(BF4)2 are reported where the neutral thiosemicarbazone is coordinated via the pyridyl nitrogen, azomethine nitrogen and thione sulfur. Crystal structure determinations of HAc4DCHex and [Cu(Ac4DHex)Br] show the former to contain the bifurcated hydrogen bonded form and the latter to be planar with no significant interaction between neighbouring centres.  相似文献

Manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes with 1,5,11,15-tetraaza-21,22-dioxo-tricyclo [19,3,1,I6,10]-5,10,15-20-dicosatetraene (L), as a new macrocyclicligand, have been synthesized with and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of the complexes in DMF correspond to non-electrolytic nature of Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes, while showing a 1:2 electrolyte for thew Ni(II) complexe. Thus, these complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X2] and [Ni(L)]X2 (where M = Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) and X = Cl- and NO3 -). On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies, an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Mn(II) and Co(II), a square planar for Ni(II) and tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. In vitro ligand and its metal complexes were also screened against the growth of some fungal and bacterial species in order to assess their antimicrobial properties.  相似文献

Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) chloro complexes of benzilic hydrazide (BH) have been synthesized. Also, reaction of the ligand (BH) with several copper(II) salts, including NO3 ?, AcO?, and SO4 ? afforded metal complexes of the general formula [CuLX(H2O) n nH2O, where X is the anion and n = 0, 1 or 2. The newly synthesized complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectra, molar conductance, UV–vis, IR spectra, magnetic moment, and thermal analysis (TG/DTG). The physico-chemical studies support that the ligand acts as monobasic bidentate towards metal ion through the carbonyl and hydroxyl oxygen atoms. The spectral data revealed that the geometrical structure of the complexes is square planar for Cu (II) complexes and tetrahedral for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes. Structural parameters of the ligand and its complexes have been calculated. The ligand and its metal complexes are screened for their antimicrobial activity. The catalytic activities of the metal chelates have been studied towards the oxidative decolorization of AB25, IC and AB92 dyes using H2O2. The catalytic activity is strongly dependent on the type of the metal ion and the anion of Cu(II) complexes.  相似文献

Summary 2,6-Dimethyl-4H-pyran-4-thione (DMTP) acts as a sulphur donor towards PtII and PdII halides yielding adducts of general formula [M(DMTP)2X2] (M=Pd or Pt; X=Cl, Br or I). When complex syntheses are performed in benzene, the solvated species [M(DMTP)2X2]·C6H6 (M=Pd or Pt; X=Cl or Br) are obtained. The compounds have been characterized by i.r. and n.m.r. (1H and13C) spectroscopy and by thermogravimetric data. The adduct geometry and the influence of benzene are discussed.  相似文献

Summary Diacetyldihydrazone (DADH) forms only six-coordinate complexes with iron(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II). In M(DADH)2X2 (M=Fe, X=Br or I; M=Co, X=I; M=Ni, X=Cl, Br or NCS) the ligand is chelating in the [M(DADH)3]2+ cations, while in M(DADH)2X2 (M=Co, X=Cl or Br; M=Ni, X=Cl or Br) the ligand is probably bridging and bidentate. Diacetylbismonomethylhydrazone (DAMH), by contrast, forms predominantly tetrahedral complexes M(DAMH)X2 (M=Fe or Co, X=Cl or Br; M=Ni, X=Br; M=Co, X=NCS; M=Zn, X=Cl, Br or NCS) and some octahedral complexes M(DAMH)2X2 (M=Co, X=NCS; M=Ni, X=Br). The i.r. spectra, electronic spectra and magnetic moments of the complexes are discussed.  相似文献

Summary The electronic and vibrational spectra of NiII and PdII complexes with thiobenzamide, L, are discussed. L acts as a sulphur donor ligand. The PdII compounds and (NiL4)(ClO4)2 are square planar. PdL2Cl2 has acis-structure, while PdL2X2 (X=Br or I) istrans; NiL4Cl2 istrans-octahedral. The i.r. bands due to(M.S) and(MX) have been assigned. The influence of the anions on the properties of the complexes, both in solution and in the solid state, is discussed.  相似文献

Interactions between the nucleotides: adenosine‐5′‐diphosphate (ADP) and adenosine‐5′‐triphosphate (ATP) with NiII and CoII ions, as well as with spermine (Spm) and 1,11‐diamine‐4,8‐diazaundecane (3,3,3‐tet) are the subject of this study. Composition and stability constants of mixed complexes thus formed have been determined on the basis of the potentiometric measurements, whereas interaction centres in ligands have been identified by VIS and NMR spectral parameter analysis. Mixed tetraprotonated complexes with NiII, i.e. Ni(ADP)H4(Spm), Ni(ATP)H4(Spm), Ni(ADP)H4(3,3,3‐tet) and Ni(ATP)H4(333‐tet), are identified as ML·······L′ type adducts, in which the main coordination centre is the nucleotide nitrogen N(1) or N(7) donor atom, and the fully protonated polyamine is engaged in noncovalent interactions with nucleotide phosphate group oxygen atoms. Ni(ADP)H2(Spm), Ni(ATP)H2(Spm), Ni(ADP)H2(3,3,3‐tet) and Ni(ATP)H2(3,3,3‐tet) complexes represent the {N3} coordination type In diprotonated mixed complexes of NiII with spermine are weak noncovalent interligand interactions, providing an additional stabilising effect. Formation of ML·······L′ type molecular complexes has been observed in systems with CoII: Co(ADP)H4(Spm), Co(ATP)H4(Spm), Co(ADP)H4(3,3,3‐tet) and Co(ATP)H4(3,3,3‐tet), in which the N(7) atom and oxygen atoms of the phosphate group are involved in coordination and the fully protonated polyamine is engaged in noncovalent interactions with the nucleotide N(1).  相似文献

The reaction of aquo-ethanolic solutions of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) salts and ethanolic solution of capric acid hydrazide (L) yielded paramagnetic, high-spin bis- and tris(ligand) chelate complexes. The tris(ligand) complexes, [ML 3]X 2·nH2O [M=Co(II), Ni(II);X=NO 3 , ClO 4 , 1/2SO 4 2– ], have an octahedral structure formed on account of the bidentate (NO) coordination of three neutral hydrazide molecules. In the bis(ligand) complexes,ML 2(NCS)2 [M=Co(II), Ni(II)] and CuL 2 X 2·nH2O (X=NO 3 , ClO 4 and 1/2SO 4 2– ), the oxoanions and NCS take also part in coordination. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, magnetic measurements, molar conductivity and TG analysis.
