In many models stability of dark matter particles D (with mass M D ) is ensured by a new conserved quantum number which we call the D-parity. We consider models which also contain charged D-odd particle D ± (with mass M ±). We study the process e + e ? ?? D + D ? followed by decay of D ± to D and gauge bosons W (either on-shell or off-shell). Measuring the end points of the energy distribution of W??s would determine M D and M ±. However, the hadron mode of W decay would lead to low precision in this measurement. while the information from the lepton mode looks incomplete. I show that it is sufficient to measure the energy distribution of a single lepton (for definiteness ??) in the process e + e ? ?? ?? + 2jets + large missing E T . The well identified singularities in this distribution allow for determination of M D and M ± with a high precision. After that, measuring the corresponding cross section will allow one to determine the spin of D particles.  相似文献

As a possible explanation of the SLAC anomalous eμ events, we computed the cross section for e+ + e? → V+ + V?μ± + e± + neutrinos, taking into account the spin correlations of V±. If one assumes that the vector meson has an anomalous magnetic moment (κ ≈ 1), the spin effects are considerable. The V± production hypothesis seems to be a viable alternative to that of the heavy lepton production.  相似文献

Effects of hadronic vacuum polarization in the reactions e+e?e+e? and e±e±e±e± are discussed. The cross sections with spin polarization are given. Measurements of these effects could directly determine in the hadronic vacuum polarization at spacelike momentum transfers and could improve tests of quantum electrodynamics.  相似文献

We report the measurement of the reaction e+ + e? → hadronic jets at a center-of-mass energy √s=30 GeV using the MARK-J detector at PETRA. By measuring the energy and angular distribution of both neutrals and charged particles we were able to isolate unambiguously the three-jet events in a kinematic region where the backgrounds from qq and phase space contributions and other processes are small. Various comparisons of the data with quantum chromodynamics were made. The relative yield of three-jet events and the shape distribution of the events enable us to determine αs = 0.23 ± 0.02 (statistical error) with a systematic error of ± 0.04.  相似文献

The cross section of the process e + e ? → π+π? was measured in the spherical neutral detector experiment at the VEPP-2M collider in the energy region $400 < \sqrt s < 1000 MeV$ . This measurement was based on about 12.4 × 106 selected collinear events, which include 7.4 × 106 e + e ?e + e ?, 4.5 × 106 e + e ? → π+π?, and 0.5 × 106 e + e ? → μ+μ? selected events. The systematic uncertainty of cross section determination is 1.3%. The ρ-meson parameters were determined as m ρ = 774.9±0.4±0.5 MeV, Γ ρ = 146.5±0.8±1.5 MeV, and σ(ρ → π+π?) = 1220 ± 7 ± 16 nb and the parameters of the G-parity suppressed decay ω → π+π? as σ(ω → π+π?) = 29.9 ± 1.4 ± 1.0 nb and φρω = 113.5±1.3±1.7°.  相似文献

Using a magnetic spectrometer, we have studied 30 000 π0 → e+e?γ events coming from Kπ2+ decays in flight. We find a positive value for the slope of the neutral-pion electromagnetic form factor: a = +0.10 ± 0.03 (or a = +0.05 ± 0.03 without radiative corrections). This value is higher than the predictions of vector meson models.  相似文献

In the data taken for the μ+ → e+e+e- and π+ → e+νe+e- experiments a search was made for neutral particles φ produced in the decay μ+ → e+φ or π+ → e+νφ with subsequent decay φ → e+e-. No candidates were found, Upper limits for the branching ratios are given as a function of their masses and lifetimes. For lifetimes below 10−10 s limits down to 2 × 10−12 are obtained.  相似文献

The radiative decayJ/ψ → γ π+ π? has been studied using the 8.6 millionJ/ψ produced in the DM2 experiment at the DCIe +e? storage rings at Orsay. The π+ π? mass spectrum shows a cleanf 2 (1270) signal, and the possible presence of two other states at thef 2 (1720) andf 4 (2030) masses. For thef 2 (1270), the branching ratio BR(J/ψ →γf)xBR(f→π+ π?) is measured to be (7.50±0.30±1.12)×10?4, and the spin analysis prefers theJ=2 assignment, with helicity parametersx=0.83±0.06 andy=0.01±0.06. The measuring of model-independent singularities in the energy distribution of a single lepton in the cascade process e + e ? ?? D + D ? ?? DDW + W ? ?? DD(q q?)??? will allow one to reliably determine the mass of a candidate for dark matter D and its charged partners D ± in future experiments at the International Linear Collider/Compact Linear Collider (ILC/CLIC).  相似文献

We report on the results of the study of e+e? collisions at the highest PETRA energy of √s = 31.57 GeV, using the 4π sr, electromagnetic and calorimetric detector Mark J. Based on 88 hadron events, and an integrated luminosity of 243 nb?1 we obtain R = σ(e+e? → hadrons)/σ(e+e?μ+μ?) = 4.0 ± 0.5 (statistical) ± 6 (systematic). The R value, the measured thrust distribution and average spherocity show no evidence for the production of new quark flavors.  相似文献

The production of χ particles in the reaction π?p → χ + … has been studied near threshold. The measurements have been performed at the 70 GeV IHEP proton synchrotron using the hodoscope spectrometer GAMS-2000. The χ particles have been identified through their decay χ → J/ψ + γ, J/ψ → e+e?. In the region XF ?0.4 the fraction of obsered J/ψ particles which is obtained via the decay of χ states is 0.44 ± 0.16. The χ longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions are similar to those obtained for J/ψ. The inclusive production cross section of χ particles (3P1 and 3P2 states) at 38 GeV/c is σXF>0 (π?p → χ + …) = (28±11) nb.  相似文献

Using the DASP detector at the DESY storage ring DORIS we have continued measuring e+e? annihilations near and on the ?(9.46) resonance. From the cross sections for e+e?μ+μ? and e+e? → hadrons we obtain a μ+μ? branching ratio for the ?(9.46) of (2.9 ± 1.3 ± 0.5) %, a leptonic width гee = (1.35 ± 0.11 ± 0.22) keV and a total width of (47?15+37 keV.  相似文献

We estimate the couplings to ordinary particles of the lightest bound states in technicolour theories and discuss the resulting phenomenology. We compute their couplings to light gauge bosons through axial anomalies and also estimate their non-anomalous couplings at low energies. We estimate their couplings to fermions under the general simplifying assumption that each fermion acquires its mass from a unique technifermion condensate (“monophagy”), in which case they are naturally flavour conserving and relatively well-defined. We find that the classic Higgs search experiments (ttoponium → H0 + γ, e+e? → H+H?, e+e? → Z0 + H0) enable one to make a decisive discrimination between elementary and composite models of spontaneous symmetry breaking. We also emphasize the interest of improving experimental limits on KL0μe in the context of dynamical symmetry breaking models.  相似文献

The e + e ?→ηγ→7γ process was studied in the energy range 2E=600–1060 MeV with an SND detector on a VEPP-2M e + e ? collider. The decay branching ratios B(φ→ηγ)=(1.353±0.011±0.052)×10?2, B(ω→ηγ)=(4.62±0.71±0.18)×10?4, and B(ρ→ηγ)=(2.73±0.31±0.15)×10?4 were measured.  相似文献

The cross sections for e+e? → e+(μ+ + non showering track + any photons have been measured for cm energies between 3.1 GeV and 5.2 GeV. We observe τ-pair production below the thresholdfor charm production and determine the τ mass to be 1.807 ± 0.020 GeV from a fit to the energy dependence of the cross section. The ration of the leptonic branching ratios Bμ/Be = 0.92 ± 0.32 is consistent with eμ-universality. The following branching ratios are determined for a V-A coupling: B(τ → ντeν) = B(τ → ντμν) = 0.182 + 0.028. B(τντ + charged hadron + any photons) = 0.29 ± 0.11, B(τντ + three or more charged hadrons + any photons) = 0.35 ± 0.11.  相似文献

Annihilation of e+e? into final states with a single electron has been studied with the PLUTO detector at the DORIS storage ring at CMS energies from 3.6 to 5 GeV. In the sample of 4-prong events without any detected photon we observe 21 events which we assign to the reaction e+e?τ+τ?ννe + ν?0π. We obtain a branching ratio for τ+ν?0π+ of 0.050 ± 0.015 with an overall systematic uncertainty of 30%. The data are consistent with the ?π coming from an A1 meson.  相似文献

The analysis of the reaction e+e?π+π? measured at the e+e? colliding beam machine ADONE shows that, if ?′ and ?″ exist, the cross sections compare as follows (taking the ? as the reference point): σ(e+e? → ? → π +π?): σ(e+e??′ → π+π?): σ(e+e??″ → π+π?) = 1: (7 ± 4) × 10?3: (1 ± 5) × 10?4. Irreducible background effects due to e + e ?W ± + bbjj and e + e ?W ± + jjjj events produced via QCD in top-antitop production and heavy Higgs searches in the bremsstrahlung channel are studied at the Next Linear Collider. Various distributions relevant to phenomenological analyses are given and compared to those expected from top and Higgs signals in the decay channel bb?W + W ?bb?W ± jj. From the two-photon exchange processes e+e? → e+e?η' (958) → e+e??0γ and e+e? → e+e?A2 (1310) → e+e?π+π?π0 observed using the CELLO detector at PETRA the radiative widths of the η' and A2 have been determined with the results: Γγγ(η') = 5.4 ± 1.0[stat.] ± 0.7[syst.] keV; Γγγ(A2) = 0.59 ± 0.14[stat.] ?0.08+0.31[syst.] keV.  相似文献
