We calculate d(γ, K+) inclusive cross sections with the full inclusion of the final ΛN - ΣN interaction. Modern hyperon-nucleon forces and a recently updated production operator for the γ + NK+ + Y process are used. Significant effects of the hyperon-nucleon final-state interaction have been found especially around the K+ΣN threshold.  相似文献

We calculate cross sections of high energy electron inclusive scattering off nuclear matter in a new and consistent formulation based on the Glauber approximation. It allows us to examine the details of the nucleon-nucleon interaction in the final-state interaction and the nuclear wave function. We point out the importance of the finite-range effect and of the nuclear short-range correlations.  相似文献

We discuss effects due to nuclear deformation that can be observed in quasi-elastic electron scattering from deformed nuclei. To simplify the discussion we restrict ourselves to the plane wave impulse approximation (PWIA) and compare the form of the spectral function for axially symmetric deformed nuclei with that for spherical nuclei in the independent particle model. We point out that a strong dependence on deformation can be expected for momentum distributions measured in narrow missing energy ranges. This is illustrated taking 28Si as an example.  相似文献

In large-angle elastic scattering events of keV electrons a significant amount of momentum is transferred from the electron to a nucleus in the target. As a consequence kinetic energy is transferred from the energetic electron to the nucleus, and hence these processes can be referred to as ‘quasi-elastic’. How much energy is transferred depends on the mass of the nucleus. In this paper, we present measurements from a two-layer system (a germanium layer and a carbon layer), and at high energies the quasi-elastic peaks of Ge and C are clearly resolved. It is demonstrated that the sample geometry has a huge effect on the observed relative intensities. It is shown that the intensities are influenced by the elastic scattering cross-section of the atoms in the film, film composition and selective attenuation, due to varying amount of inelastic scattering for layers of the film. However truly quantitative agreement is not obtained.  相似文献

An eikonal expansion is used to provide systematic corrections to the eikonal approximation through order 1/k 2, where k is the wave number. Electron wave functions are obtained for the Dirac equation with a Coulomb potential. They are used to investigate distorted-wave matrix elements for quasi-elastic electron scattering from a nucleus. A form of effective-momentum approximation is obtained using trajectory-dependent eikonal phases and focusing factors. Fixing the Coulomb distortion effects at the center of the nucleus, the often-used ema approximation is recovered. Comparisons of these approximations are made with full calculations using the electron eikonal wave functions. The ema results are found to agree well with the full calculations.  相似文献

We report inelastic neutron scattering measurements of the neutron Compton profile, J(y), for Be and for D in polycrystalline [Formula: see text] over a range of momentum transfers, q between 27 and [Formula: see text]. The measurements were performed using the inverse geometry spectrometer eVS which is situated at the UK pulsed spallation neutron source ISIS. We have investigated deviations from impulse approximation (IA) scattering which are generically referred to as final-state effects (FSEs) using a method described by Sears. This method allows both the magnitude and the q dependence of the FSE to be studied. Analysis of the measured data was compared with analysis of numerical simulations based on the harmonic approximation and good agreement was found for both [Formula: see text] and Be. Finally we have shown how [Formula: see text], where V is the interatomic potential, can be extracted from the antisymmetric component of J(y).  相似文献

The effects of the final-state interaction (FSI) in semi-exclusive deep inelastic scattering of electrons off the deuteron are analyzed paying particular attention to two extreme kinematical regions: i) the one where FSI effects are minimized, so that the quark distribution of bound nucleons could be investigated, and ii) the one where the re-interaction of the produced hadrons with the spectator nucleon is maximized, which would allow one to study the mechanism of hadronization of highly virtual quarks. It is demonstrated that when the recoiling spectator nucleon is detected in the backward hemisphere with low momentum, the effects from the FSI are negligible, whereas at large transverse momenta of the spectator, FSI effects are rather large. Numerical estimates show that the FSI corrections are sensitive to the theoretical models of the hadronization mechanism.Received: 14 July 2003, Published online: 18 December 2003PACS: 24.85. + p Quarks, gluons, and QCD in nuclei and nuclear processes - 25.10. + s Nuclear reactions involving few-nucleon systems - 25.30.Fj Inelastic electron scattering to continuumL.P. Electron scattering cross sections for carbon and oxygen between q = 1 fm−1 and 4 fm−1 are given. The data are analysed in terms of a phenomenological charge distribution and new information concerning the tail and the center of the charge distribution are obtained. The presence of dispersion effects appears to be necessary to explain the cross sections in the first diffraction minimum. The effect of a finite potential and short range correlations on the form factor are discussed.  相似文献

Quasi-elastic neutron scattering measurements of AlCl3 aqueous solution are analysed to derived the ratio of bound to solvent water molecules. We find that the ratio depends on the nature of the binding of the water molecules in the hydration shell and in the solvent. If the details of the binding are not known it is shown that such measurements must be carried out at small neutron wavevector transfers to obtain quantitative results.  相似文献

The possibility of obtaining information on nucleon momentum distributions in few-body systems by a coherent analysis of exclusive and inclusive electron scattering is discussed using the concept ofy-scaling.Presented at the symposium Mesons and Light Nuclei, Bechyn, Czechoslovakia, May 27–June 1, 1985.  相似文献

The kaons decays to pairs of charged and neutral pions are considered in the framework of the non-relativistic quantum mechanics. The general expressions for the decay amplitudes to the two different channels accounting for the strong interaction between pions are obtained. The developed approach allows one to estimate the contribution of terms of any order in strong interaction and correctly takes into account the electromagnetic interaction between the pions in the final state.  相似文献

We express nuclear structure functions FiA as generalized convolutions of the structure function of a nucleon and of a nucleus, composed of point-nucleons. In computations of the latter we include final state interactions and results for F2A are compared with a few directly measured data on C and Fe. The above-mentioned FiA are primarily used for predictions of the TJNAF 89-008 inclusive scattering experiment of 4 GeV electrons on various targets. Those targets cover a broad angular, and correspondingly wide x, 2 range, where the nucleon-inelastic part dominates large sections of the covered kinematics. The same model has been applied to the study of hitherto neglected final state interaction effects in the nuclear component in EMC ratios in the region 0.25 x 0.85.  相似文献

The problem of hadron-deuteron quasi-elastic scattering is considered for large momentum transfers. The longitudinal part of the momentum transfer is included in the single and double scattering. It is shown that a simple enhancement factor relates the double scattering contribution to the differential cross section to the same quantity in Glauber theory.  相似文献

In this paper the consequences of the Pauli principle applied at the quark level are investigated for nuclear structure functions in electron-nucleus scattering in the quasi-elastic scattering region. The effect of quark exchange contributions is studied for both inclusive and exclusive electron-nucleus scattering and is shown to give rise to nonnegligible corrections to the impulse approximation picture. Examples are given for light nuclei using gaussian wave functions.  相似文献
