Synthesis and properties of polyfluorene copolymers bearing thiophene and porphyrin

To search for more wider absorption and higher charge carriers mobilities materials of polymer solar cell, a series of soluble alternating polyfluorene copolymers were synthesized by palladium-catalyzed Suzuki coupling reaction. Their structures were determined by 1H NMR, IR and UV-vis. And their UV-vis absorption spectra indicated that they had strong absorption over 600 nm spectral range and nearly cover 400-700 nm visible region. The band gaps of copolymers calculated according to cyclic voltammetry （CV） were between 1.96 and 2.03 eV. Polymer：TiO2 bulk-heterojunction films were made from mixtures of polymer and titanium isopropoxide, a precursor for TiO2, via hydrolysis in air overnight. The photoluminescence at 380-800 nm of the blend film of PT-TPP20 （5 mg/mL）：Ti（OC3H7）4 （80 μL/mL） （20% volume fraction） was significantly quenched in the 50% Ti（OC3H7）4 blend film, indicating that rapid and efficient separation of photoinduced electron-hole pairs.     

Synthesis and electroluminescent properties of naphthalimide derivatives

Naphthalimide derivatives, N-ethyl-4-acetylamino-l ,8-naphthalimide (EAAN) and polymer with N-propyl-4-acetylamino-l,8-naphthalimide (PAAN) side-chain (P-PAAN) were successfully synthesized. Electroluminescent devices of ITO/PVK(120nm)/EAAN(50nm)/Al(150nm) (Ⅰ) and ITO/PVK P-PAAN( 10:1) (50nm)/Al(150nm) (Ⅱ) constructed with EAAN and P-PAAN as the emitting layer were investigated, whereas the single-layer devices of ITO/EAAN or P-PAAN(50nm)/Al(l50nm) (Ⅲ) were not observed to have any e-mission light. The emission results revealed that the exciton recombination formed by positive and negative charge carriers injected from electrodes of devices Ⅰ and Ⅱ was much more balanced than that of devices Ⅲ, which implied that naphthalimide derivatives are a new type of electron-transporting materials with high performance. The electron-transporting properties of naphthalimide derivatives were also elucidated by investigation of the electroluminescent behaviors from both devices of ITO/PPV (80nm)/Al and ITO/P     

Synthesis and photochromic reactivity of a new class of photochromic diarylethene dimer-containing dithieno[3,2-b:2′3′-d]thiophene

Novel photochromic diarylethene dimers containing dithieno[3,2-b:2′3′-d]thiophene were synthesized and their photochromic properties were studied in solution as well as in the crystalline phase. Only the isomer with the diarylethene units one in open-form and one in closed-form was produced upon irradiation with ultraviolet light because of the intramolecular excitation energy transfer in this isomer. Their electrochemical properties were also investigated associating with computational studies.     

Synthesis and spectral properties of arylmercury derivatives of α-thiopicolinanilide

A series of thirteen arylmercury derivatives of α-thiopicolinanilide have been synthesizedand characterized by elemental analysis,IR,~1H NMR and MS.The intramolecular coordination andthe substituent effects on the MS and ~(199)Hg NMR behaviours have been studie6.It has been shownthat a linear correlation exists between the ~(199)Hg chemical shifts and the Hammett-Brown constantsσ~+,and the electron-donating groups cause the chemical shift to move upfield.     

Synthesis and properties of new polyazines—III

Polycondensations of 1,2- and 1,4-naphthoquinones with hydrazine hydrate and disulphinylhydrazine under various conditions were carried out. The optimum parameters for the disulphinylhydrazine synthesis were established. The thermal stabilities and electrical conductivities of the polynaphthoquinoneazines were determined.

Synthesis and mesomorphic properties of new azine-type liquid crystals

A series of symmetrical azine-type liquid crystals were synthesized. The characteristic of these liquid crystals is that they had high clearing point ( ～320 ℃) and broad thermal range of nematic phase ( ～154 ℃). It was also found that the end groups of the liquid crystals had effect on the mesomorphic properties.     

Synthesis and photophysical properties of some 6,6″-functionalized terpyridine derivatives

The synthesis and photophysical properties of several 6,6″ symmetrically substituted 4′-aryl-2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine derivatives are reported herein. The UV-Vis spectra in acetonitrile as well as in dichloromethane show two intense bands in the UV areas 252–262 nm and 275–290 nm while the fluorescence emission spectra are only slightly influenced by chemical derivatization.     

Synthesis and properties of monoimines of α-diketones, derivatives of 3-imidazoline nitroxides

The reaction of 4-(2R-1-chloro-2-oxoethylidene)-substituted imidazolidine-1-oxyl with sodium azide gives monoimines of -diketones, derivatives of 3-imidazoline nitroxides. Reactions of these products with nitrogen binucleophiles were used to prepare various heterocyclic compounds containing an imidazoline nitroxide moiety.     

Reactions of α-acetylenic ketones with n-3-amidinothioureas. 1. Synthesis and properties of new derivatives of 1,3-thiazine

[4-Phenyl-2H-1,3-thiazin]-2-ylideneguanidinium perchlorate or acetoxytrifluoroborate respectively was obtained from the reaction of benzoylacetylene with N-amidinothiourea in glacial AcOH in the presence of an equimolar quantity of HClO₄ or BF₃Et₂O. These compounds underwent hydrolysis at the amidine unit on treatment with acid or base. For example, the perchlorate on heating in HClO₄ was converted into 2-imino-4-phenyl-2H-1,3-thiazinium perchlorate, while treatment with aqueous NaOH in DMSO gave the free base - 6-phenyl-1,2-dihydropyrimidine-2-thione.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 12, pp. 1848–1852, December, 2004.     

Synthesis and properties of new π-conjugated pyridine ligands with tetrathiafulvalene derivatives and the rhenium(I) tricarbonyl complexes

Three new π-conjugated pyridine ligands with redox-active tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) derivatives, L₁-L₃, have been synthesized and characterized. The Diels-Alder reaction is the key step for this multistep synthetic strategy. The crystal structures of L₁ and L₃ have been studied. The electrochemical and spectroscopic properties of these new ligands, as well as the corresponding tricarbonyl rhenium(I) complexes (ReL₁(CO)₃X, X = Cl, 5; X = Br, 6) have also been investigated.     

Synthesis and biological activity of new avermectin 5-O- and 4″-O-acyl derivatives

Acylation of avermectin B₁ with vicinal 1,2-dicarboxylic acid anhydrides leads only to 5-O-acyl derivatives in high yields. Avermectin 4″-O-acyl derivatives were obtained under similar conditions from avermectin B₁ 5-O-TBS-derivatives in good yields. The compounds obtained are of interest as antiparasitic agents.

Synthesis,liquid crystalline properties and fluorescence of polycatenar 1,3,4‐oxadiazole derivatives

A series of hexacatenar liquid crystals containing the 1,3,4‐oxadiazole group as rigid core, i.e. 1,4‐bis[(3,4,5‐trialkoxyphenyl)‐1,3,4‐oxadiazolyl]‐ benzene (P‐P‐oxd‐n), were designed and synthesised. Based on a detailed study of their thermotropic phase behaviour and mesophase structures, it was revealed that columnar phases are generated in these materials. Furthermore, combination of experimental and calculated results enabled a proposal for the molecular packing in the mesophase. The photoluminescent properties of these materials were examined using P‐P‐oxd‐8 as an example. A strong blue light emission (λ_max = 456 nm) was observed in P‐P‐oxd‐8 and a higher quantum yield was obtained in dilute chloroform solution.     

Synthesis of γ-benzyltert-butoxycarbonyl-L-alanyl-D-glutamate and its derivatives

A convenient method of obtaining Boc-L-Ala-D-iGln-OBzl and its amide analogs by condensing the N-hydroxysuccinimidyl ester of Boc-L-Ala with the -benzyl ester ofD-Glu in the presence of NaHCO₃, followed by amidation of the resulting Boc-L-Ala-D-Glu--OBzl, is proposed. Synthesis and applications of photochromic fulgides in optical information storages

A pyrryl substituted photocbromic fulgide, (1-p-methoxyphenyl-2-methyl-5-phenyl)-3-pyrryl-ethylidene (isopropylidene) succinic anhydride, was synthesized. Its chemical structure was identified by IR, 1H NMR MS and elemental analysis. The title compound was used to prepare the optical disks by the spin coating method and the vacuum evaporation method. The results of the static state examination show that the optical disks prepared with this kind of molecules possess excellent thermal stability and fatigue resistance, i.e. over 450 writing-erasing recycles, the relative contrast between writing state and erasing state remains at 40%.
