We study a soliton in an optical lattice holding bosonic atoms quantum mechanically using both an exact numerical solution and quantum Monte Carlo simulations. The computation of the state is combined with an explicit account of the measurements of the numbers of the atoms at the lattice sites. In particular, importance sampling in the quantum Monte Carlo method arguably produces faithful simulations of individual experiments. Even though the quantum state is invariant under lattice translations, an experiment may show a noisy version of the localized classical soliton.  相似文献

We solve the 3D periodic Anderson model using a two impurity cluster dynamical mean field theory. We obtain the temperature versus hybridization phase diagram. Approaching the quantum critical point (QCP) both the Néel and lattice Kondo temperatures decrease and they do not cross at the lowest temperature we reached. While strong ferromagnetic spin fluctuation on the Kondo side is observed, our result suggests the critical static spin susceptibility is local in space at the QCP. We observe in the crossover region a logarithmic temperature dependence in the specific heat coefficient and spin susceptibility.  相似文献

A systematic semiquantitative account of all aspects of the strong and electromagnetic interactions of all the newly discovered hadronic states (theψ’s, theχ’s, etc.) is presented within the framework of the paracharge scheme. Extensions of ideas familiar from the SU3 classification scheme to SU4 are shown to provide an understanding of the new states seen in the decays ofψ (3.1) andψ′ (3.7), including their masses and gross decay characteristics. The decays ofψ (3.1) andψ′ (3.7) themselves are studied in some detail. Since these are of electromagnetic origin in the scheme, their electromagnetic mixing with the resonance at 4.15 GeV (theP-state of the scheme) is important. Once this is taken into account, the resulting picture is in excellent agreement with available data.  相似文献

Quantum computing relies on processing of information within a quantum system with many continuous degrees of freedom. The practical implementation of this idea requires complete control over all of the 2n independent amplitudes of a many-particle wave function, where n>1000. The formation of holograms is interpreted as the consequence of the bilinearity of the ambiguity function. Reconstruction can then be regarded as the manipulation of the ambiguity function. Specifically, we show that in the case of in-line holography, the reconstruction can be regarded as phase tomography. In this way we provide a unified picture for the formulation of both noninterferometric and interferometric phase-retrieval techniques.  相似文献

We present a new operator solution of the Schwinger model, i.e., of massless quantum electrodynamics in 1 + 1 dimensions in the temporal gauge A0 = 0. This gauge is well-suited for the treatment of static external charges. The energy functional reflects the immediate onset of pair creation of massless fermions. We show that every point charge is screened completely by a Yukawa-like polarization charge cloud of radius πe, e the coupling constant.  相似文献

This paper describes an experimental investigation of an actively controlled double-glazed window. It is the second of two companion papers of which the first treated results obtained employing adaptive feedforward control. Herein, the outcome using adaptive feedback control is presented. This adaptive feedback controller has been tested in different configurations, i.e. fully and partially connected controllers. The differences between fully connected controllers with few filter coefficients and partially connected controllers with many filter coefficients are discussed. Additionally, tests with different traffic noise examples have been performed showing the ability of the actively controlled window to enhance protection against traffic noise.  相似文献

At present we have only the very successful but phenomenological Einstein geometrical modelling of the spacetime phenomenon. This geometrical model provides a “container” for other theories.
