Based on the transfer matrix method (TMM) and Bloch theory, the interaction of elastic waves (normal incidence) with 1D phononic crystal had been studied. The transfer matrix method was obtained for both longitudinal and transverse waves by applying the continuity conditions between the consecutive unit cells. Dispersion relations are calculated and plotted for both binary and ternary structures. Also we have investigated the corresponding effects on the band gaps values for the two types of phononic crystals. Furthermore, it can be observed that the complete band gaps are located in the common frequency stop-band regions. Numerical simulations are performed to investigate the effect of different thickness ratios inside each unit cell on the band gap values, as well as unit cells thickness on the central band gap frequency. These phononic band gap materials can be used as a filter for elastic waves at different frequencies values.  相似文献

将带有LCR分流电路的压电陶瓷片对贴在铝和环氧树脂组成的声子晶体结构中.使智能材料的机械振动与压电陶瓷的压电效应耦合起来,推导出机械振动在压电陶瓷片上的等效附加应力;使LCR分流电路中的电磁振荡效应和声子晶体的能带特性有机结合,计算了在分流电路作用下智能材料扭转和弯曲振动的带隙特性,研究了电阻、电感、电容元件的改变对压电声子晶体智能材料带隙的影响.研究结果表明:在合理尺寸下,随着分流电路中电阻值的增大,带隙的频率范围变宽,但衰减幅值有所降低;电感和电容值的增大都可以使带隙向低频移动,带隙的衰减幅值随着电感值的增大而升高,但随着电容值的增大而降低.从而给压电声子晶体智能材料减震降噪的控制提供了一种新思路.  相似文献

The elastic coupling between the a-SiO2 spheres composing opal films brings forth three-dimensional periodic structures which besides a photonic stop band are predicted to also exhibit complete phononic band gaps. The influence of elastic crystal vibrations on the photonic band structure has been studied by injection of coherent hypersonic wave packets generated in a metal transducer by subpicosecond laser pulses. These studies show that light with energies close to the photonic band gap can be efficiently modulated by hypersonic waves.  相似文献

We report on the existence of unidirectional phononic band gaps that may span over extended regions of the Brillouin zone and can find application in trapping elastic (acoustic) waves in properly designed multilayered 3D structures. Phononic isolators operate as a result of asymmetrical wave transmission through a slab of a crystallographic phononic structure with broken mirror symmetry. Due to the use of lossless materials in the crystal, the absorption rate is dramatically enhanced when the proposed isolator is placed next to a vibrational harvesting cell.  相似文献

The paper studies the band structures of a two-component Fibonacci phononic quasicrystal which is considered as a phononic crystal disordered in a special way. Oblique propagation in an arbitrary direction of the in-plane elastic waves with coupling of longitudinal and transverse modes is considered. The transfer matrix method is used and the well-defined localization factors which are used to study the ordered and disordered phononic crystals are introduced to describe the band gaps of the phononic quasicrystals. The transmission coefficients are also calculated and the results show the same behaviours as the localization factor does. The results show the merits of using the localization factors. The band gaps of the phononic quasicrystal and crystals with translational and/or mirror symmetries are presented and compared to the perfect phononic crystals. More band structures are exhibited when symmetries are introduced to the phononic quasicrystals.  相似文献

Phononic crystals are known as artificial materials that can manipulate the propagation of elastic waves, and one essential feature of phononic crystals is the existence of forbidden frequency range of traveling waves called band gaps. In this paper, we have proposed an easy way to design phononic crystals with large in-plane band gaps. We demonstrated that the gap between two arbitrarily appointed bands of in-plane mode can be formed by employing a certain number of solid or hollow circular rods embedded in a matrix material. Topology optimization has been applied to find the best material distributions within the primitive unit cell with maximal band gap width. Our results reveal that the centroids of optimized rods coincide with the point positions generated by Lloyd's algorithm, which deepens our understandings on the formation mechanism of phononic in-plane band gaps.  相似文献

The propagation of elastic waves in piezoelectric and magnetostrictive materials is considered theoretically. It is shown that an elastic wave in a piezoelectric can create not only a longitudinal electric field parallel to the wave normal (longitudinal piezoactivity) but also a transverse field of electric induction (transverse piezoactivity). The presence of a transverse induction field leads to the appearance of a magnetic field perpendicular to the direction of the wave normal and to the induction vector; therefore, the transverse-piezoactive wave is accompanied by a transverse wave having the structure of an electromagnetic wave and propagating with the speed of sound. We study theoretically, by means of layer-multiple scattering techniques, the propagation of elastic waves through finite slabs of phononic crystals consisting of metallic spheres in polyester matrix, embedded in air. We focus on the study of modes localized on the surfaces of the structure, investigating the physical parameters which influence and determine their appearance. Our results reveal the existence of absolute phononic frequency gaps in these finite structures, and point out the possibility, under an appropriate choice of the parameters, of tunable regions of frequency free of propagating and/or surface-localized modes. This could be very useful in the design of devices related to frequency filtering, waveguiding, etc.  相似文献

The low frequency phononic band structures of two-dimensional arc-shaped phononic crystals (APCs) were studied by the transfer matrix method in cylindrical coordinates. The results showed the first phononic band gaps (PBGs) of APCs from zero Hz with low modes. Locally resonant (LR) gaps were obtained with higher-order rotation symmetry, due to LR frequencies corresponding to the speeds of acoustic waves in the materials. These properties can be efficiently used in a structure for low frequencies that are forbidden, or in a device that permits a narrow window of frequencies.  相似文献

提出了不同结构的一维弹性波复合材料系统模型,包括一维周期结构声子晶体、标准Fibonacci准周期结构声子晶体、广义Fibonacci准周期结构声子晶体以及完全无序结构的复合材料系统. 采用模式匹配理论法,数值计算了弹性波通过一维复合材料系统的透射系数. 计算结果表明,利用特殊的准周期结构声子晶体可获得比周期结构声子晶体更宽的带隙范围,准周期结构排列的复合材料系统相当于在周期结构中引入了缺陷体一样,带隙内出现了丰富的局域模式. 对弹性波/声波在复合材料系统中局域态性质的研究有助于弹性波/声波滤波器、导波器 关键词: 弹性波复合材料 局域化  相似文献

The elastic properties of C60 fullerite samples synthesized under pressure P=13.0 GPa at high temperatures were investigated using acoustic microscopy. The velocities of longitudinal (c L=17–26 km/s) and transverse (c T=7.2–9.6 km/s) elastic waves in the samples were measured. It was established that the longitudinal sound velocity of ultrahard fullerites is higher than that of any other known solid. The bulk modulus of these ultrahard samples is higher than that of diamond and reaches a value greater than 1 TPa. The high bulk modulus, the relatively large shear moduli, and the substantial Poisson ratio indicate that the structure of the ultrahard fullerites is fundamentally different from that of diamond. The procedure is given for calculating the total power of low-frequency sound and seismic waves produced by a Helmholtz resonator in the form of an air-filled spherical cavity buried in the ground and supplied with a hole through which it is connected with the atmosphere. The sound is generated by air oscillations in the resonator’s neck section that is open to the atmosphere, while the compression and shear elastic waves are generated in the bulk of the ground by cyclic pressure fluctuations that act on the spherical walls of the cavity. Calculations show that the coincidence of the resonance frequencies (within approximately ten to hundred hertz), at which both the sound radiation to the atmosphere and the elastic seismic radiation in the form of longitudinal and transverse bulk waves are maximum, can occur only when the resonator is placed in a loose ground characterized by reduced elastic characteristics. In these conditions, the power of transverse waves exceeds the sound power by a factor of two and the power of longitudinal waves is smaller than the sound power by a factor of several tens.  相似文献

设计了一种由涂有硬质材料涂层的柱状压电散射体周期性连接在四个环氧树脂薄板上构成的具有大带宽的新型二维压电声子晶体板,并利用有限元方法计算了该声子晶体板的能带结构、传输损失谱和位移矢量场.研究表明:与二组元材料构成的传统声子晶体板相比,新设计的声子晶体板的第一完全带隙频率更低,并且带宽扩大了5倍;通过在压电体表面上施加不同的电边界条件,可以实现多条完全带隙的主动调控;压电效应对能带结构有很大的影响,并且有利于完全带隙的扩大与形成.基于带隙的可调谐性,分析了可切换路径的压电声子晶体板波导,结果表明可以通过改变电边界条件来限制弹性波能量流.  相似文献

We demonstrate the existence of strong Anderson localization in certain disordered phononic systems. As a result, the transmission coefficient of elastic waves through a slab of the material practically vanishes, whatever the angle of incidence, over a region of frequency much wider than the absolute frequency gap of the corresponding ordered system. The phenomenon can be of use in the design of phononic systems with very wide absolute transmission gaps.  相似文献

The band structures and localization properties of in-plane elastic waves with coupling of longitudinal and transverse modes oblique propagating in aperiodic phononic crystals based on Thue-Morse and Rudin-Shapiro sequences are studied. Using transfer matrix method, the concept of the localization factor is introduced and the correctness is testified through the Rytov dispersion relation. For comparison, the perfect periodic structure and the quasi-periodic Fibonacci system are also considered. In addition, the influences of the random disorder, local resonance, translational and/or mirror symmetries on the band structures of the aperiodic phononic crystals are analyzed in this paper.  相似文献

In this Letter, we numerically investigate the propagation characteristics of elastic transverse waves emitted by line sources embedded inside two-dimensional (2D) solid phononic crystals (PCs). The results show that collimation and enhancement of elastic transverse waves can be achieved at the band edge frequencies. We find that the collimation effect originates from the flat equifrequency contours (EFCs) at the band edge of appropriately designed 2D solid PCs. It is shown that, in addition to geometric symmetry, appropriate constituent material combination is essential to obtain flat EFCs at the band edge. A highly directional and enhanced elastic transverse wave source with a half power angular width of only 5.6° and an enhancement factor of 530 is realized simply by utilizing a finite-size 2D solid PC structure.  相似文献

The localization properties of in-plane elastic waves propagating in two-dimensional porous phononic crystals with one-dimensional aperiodicity are initially analyzed by introducing the concept of the localization factor that is calculated by the plane-wave-based transfer-matrix method in this paper. The band structures characterized by using localization factors are calculated for different phononic crystals by altering matrix material properties and geometric structure parameters. Numerical results show that the effect of matrix material properties on wave localization can be ignored, while the effect of geometric structure parameters is obvious. For comparison, the periodic porous system and Fibonacci system with rigid inclusion are also analyzed. It is found that the band gaps are easily formed in aperiodic porous system, but hard for periodic porous system. Moreover, compared with aperiodic system with rigid inclusion, the wider low-frequency band gaps appear in the aperiodic porous system.  相似文献

Anisotropic piezoelectric superlattices (APSs) with the periodic arrangement of polarized anisotropic piezoelectric domains in a certain direction are presented, in which the coupled polaritonic band gaps (CPBGs) can be obtained in the whole Brillouin Zone and the maximum relative bandwidth (band-gap sizes divided by their midgap frequencies) of 5.1% can be achieved. The general characteristics of the APSs are similar to those of the phononic crystals composed of two types of materials, with the main difference being the formation mechanism of the CPBGs, which originate from the couplings between lattice vibrations along two different directions and electromagnetic waves rather than from the periodical modulation of density and elastic constants. In addition, there are no lattice mismatches because the APSs are made of the same material. Thus, the APSs can also be extended to the construction of novel acousto-optic devices.  相似文献
