<Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis></Superscript> estimates for bi-parameter and bilinear Fourier integral operators

Fourier integral operators play an important role in Fourier analysis and partial differential equations. In this paper, we deal with the boundedness of the bilinear and bi-parameter Fourier integral operators, which are motivated by the study of one-parameter FIOs and bilinear and bi-parameter Fourier multipliers and pseudo-differential operators. We consider such FIOs when they have compact support in spatial variables. If they contain a real-valued phase φ(x, ξ, η) which is jointly homogeneous in the frequency variables ξ, η, and amplitudes of order zero supported away from the axes and the antidiagonal, we can show that the boundedness holds in the local-L² case. Some stronger boundedness results are also obtained under more restricted conditions on the phase functions. Thus our results extend the boundedness results for bilinear and one-parameter FIOs and bilinear and bi-parameter pseudo-differential operators to the case of bilinear and bi-parameter FIOs.     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">W</Emphasis><Superscript>1,<Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis></Superscript>(R<Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis></Superscript>)-boundedness for maximal functions

In this paper, we get W ^1,p (R ⁿ )-boundedness for tangential maximal function and nontangential maximal function, which improves J.Kinnunen, P.Lindqvist and Tananka’s results. LP（Rn）-Boundedness of certain commutators

In this paper, the Lp(Rn)-boundedness of the commutators generalized by BMO(Rn) function and the singular integral operator T with rough kernel Ω∈ Llog+ L(Sn-1) is proved by using the Bony's formula for the paraproduct of two functions.     

The existence of eigenvalues for operators acting in <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Superscript>2</Superscript>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">R</Emphasis><Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis></Superscript>)

We present conditions that allow us to prove the existence of eigenvalues and characteristic values for operator F(D) ? C(λ): L ²(R ^m ) → L ²(R ^m ), where F(D) is a pseudo-differential operator with a symbol F(iξ) and C(λ): L ²(R ^m ) → L ²(R ^m ) is a linear continuous operator.     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">R</Emphasis>-bounded Representations of <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Superscript>1</Superscript> (<Emphasis Type="Italic">G</Emphasis>)

We investigate R-bounded representations , where X is a Banach space and G is a lca group. Observing that Ψ induces a (strongly continuous) group homomorphism , we are then able to analyze certain classical homomorphisms U (e.g. translations in L^p (G)) from the viewpoint of R-boundedness and the theory of scalar-type spectral operators. Cyclic Functions in <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis></Superscript>(<Emphasis Type="Bold">R</Emphasis>), 1 \le <Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis> < \infty

Functions whose translates span L ^p (R) are called L ^p-cyclic functions. For a fixed p \memb [1, \infty], we construct Schwartz-class functions which are L ^r -cyclic for r > p and not L ^r - cyclic for r \le p. We then construct Schwartz-class functions which are L ^r -cyclic for r \ge p and not L ^r -cyclic for r < p. The constructions differ for p \memb (1, 2) and p > 2.

Further Results for the Queueing System <Emphasis Type="Italic">M</Emphasis><Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">x</Emphasis></Superscript>/<Emphasis Type="Italic">M</Emphasis>/<Emphasis Type="Italic">c</Emphasis>

For the multi-channel bulk-arrival queue, M ^x /M/c, Abol'nikov and Kabak independently obtained steady state results. In this paper the results of these authors are extended, corrected and simplified. A number of measures of efficiency are calculated for three cases where the arrival group size has: (i) a constant value, (ii) a geometric distribution, or (iii) a positive Poisson distribution. The paper also shows how to calculate fractiles for both the queue length and the waiting time distribution. Examples of extensive numerical results for certain measures of efficiency are presented in tabular and chart form.     

Rate of convergence to stationarity of the system <Emphasis Type="Italic">M</Emphasis>/<Emphasis Type="Italic">M</Emphasis>/<Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>/<Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>+<Emphasis Type="Italic">R</Emphasis>

We consider the M/M/N/N+R service system, characterized by N servers, R waiting positions, Poisson arrivals and exponential service times. We discuss representations and bounds for the rate of convergence to stationarity of the number of customers in the system, and study its behaviour as a function of R, N and the arrival rate λ, allowing λ to be a function of N.     

(<Emphasis Type="Italic">s</Emphasis>, <Emphasis Type="Italic">t</Emphasis>, <Emphasis Type="Italic">d</Emphasis>)-bi-Koszul algebras

The paper focuses on the 1-generated positively graded algebras with non-pure resolutions and mainly discusses a new kind of algebras called(s,t,d)-bi-Koszul algebras as the generalization of bi-Koszul algebras. An(s,t,d)-bi-Koszul algebra can be obtained from two periodic algebras with pure resolutions. The generation of the Koszul dual of an(s,t,d)-bi-Koszul algebra is discussed. Based on it,the notion of strongly(s,t,d)-bi-Koszul algebras is raised and their homological properties are further discussed.     

Asymptotic <Emphasis Type="Italic">T</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">u</Emphasis></Subscript>-Toeplitzness of weighted composition operators on <Emphasis Type="Italic">H</Emphasis><Superscript>2</Superscript>

Given a unilateral forward shift S acting on a complex, separable, innite dimensional Hilbert space H, an asymptotically S-Toeplitz operator is a bounded linear operator T on H satisfying that {S* ⁿ TS ⁿ } is convergent with respect to one of the topologies commonly used in the algebra of bounded linear operators on H. In this paper, we study the asymptotic T _u -Toeplitzness of weighted composition operators on the Hardy space H², where u is a nonconstant inner function.     

Processes of <Emphasis Type="Italic">r</Emphasis><Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">t</Emphasis><Emphasis Type="Italic">h</Emphasis></Superscript> largest

For integers n ≥ r, we treat the rth largest of a sample of size n as an \(\mathbb {R}^{\infty }\)-valued stochastic process in r which we denote as M^(r). We show that the sequence regarded in this way satisfies the Markov property. We go on to study the asymptotic behavior of M^(r) as r → ∞, and, borrowing from classical extreme value theory, show that left-tail domain of attraction conditions on the underlying distribution of the sample guarantee weak limits for both the range of M^(r) and M^(r) itself, after norming and centering. In continuous time, an analogous process Y^(r) based on a two-dimensional Poisson process on \(\mathbb {R}_{+}\times \mathbb {R}\) is treated similarly, but we note that the continuous time problems have a distinctive additional feature: there are always infinitely many points below the rth highest point up to time t for any t >?0. This necessitates a different approach to the asymptotics in this case.     

On Stability of Cones in <Emphasis Type="Italic">R</Emphasis><Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis>+1</Superscript> with Zero Scalar Curvature

In this work we generalize the case of scalar curvature zero the results of Simmons (Ann. Math. 88 (1968), 62–105) for minimal cones in Rⁿ⁺¹. If Mⁿ⁻¹ is a compact hypersurface of the sphere Sⁿ(1) we represent by C(M)ε the truncated cone based on M with center at the origin. It is easy to see that M has zero scalar curvature if and only if the cone base on M also has zero scalar curvature. Hounie and Leite (J. Differential Geom. 41 (1995), 247–258) recently gave the conditions for the ellipticity of the partial differential equation of the scalar curvature. To show that, we have to assume n ⩾ 4 and the three-curvature of M to be different from zero. For such cones, we prove that, for n ≤slant 7 there is an ε for which the truncate cone C(M)_ε is not stable. We also show that for n ⩾ 8 there exist compact, orientable hypersurfaces Mⁿ⁻¹ of the sphere with zero scalar curvature and S₃ different from zero, for which all truncated cones based on M are stable. On the <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis></Superscript>-boundedness of pseudo-differential operators with non-regular symbols

In this paper, we consider the continuity property of pseudo-differential operators with symbols whose Fourier transforms have compact support. As applications, we obtain the L ^p -boundedness for symbols in Besov spaces and in modulation spaces.     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">M</Emphasis><Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">X</Emphasis></Superscript>/<Emphasis Type="Italic">M</Emphasis>/<Emphasis Type="Italic">c</Emphasis> Queue with catastrophes and state-dependent control at idle time

We consider an M ^X /M/c queue with catastrophes and state-dependent control at idle time. Properties of the queues which terminate when the servers become idle are first studied. Recurrence, equilibrium distribution, and equilibrium queue-size structure are studied for the case of resurrection and no catastrophes. All of these properties and the first effective catastrophe occurrence time are then investigated for the case of resurrection and catastrophes. In particular, we obtain the Laplace transform of the transition probability for the absorbing M ^X /M/c queue.     

A Montel Type Result for Super-Polyharmonic Functions on R<Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis></Superscript>

Our aim in this paper is to discuss a Montel type result for a family F{\mathcal F} of super-polyharmonic functions on R ^N . We give a condition on spherical means to assure that F{\mathcal F} contains a sequence converging outside a set of capacity zero.

The <Emphasis Type="Italic">R</Emphasis>-observability and <Emphasis Type="Italic">R</Emphasis>-controllability of linear differential-algebraic systems

We study the R-controllability (the controllability within the attainability set) and the R-observability of time-varying linear differential-algebraic equations (DAE). We analyze DAE under assumptions guaranteeing the existence of a structural form (which is called “equivalent”) with separated “differential” and “algebraic” subsystems. We prove that the existence of this form guarantees the solvability of the corresponding conjugate system, and construct the corresponding “equivalent form” for the conjugate DAE. We obtain conditions for the R-controllability and R-observability, in particular, in terms of controllability and observability matrices. We prove theorems that establish certain connections between these properties.
