A flow injection system was developed for on-line sorbent extraction preconcentration and flame atomic absorption spectrometric
determination of cadmium in natural water samples. The non-charged cadmium complex with diethyl-dithiophosphate (DDPA) was
formed on-line in 0.1 mol L−1 HNO3 and retained on the hydrophobic poly-chlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE) sorbent material. The adsorbed complex was eluted with
isobutyl methylketone (IBMK) and injected directly into the nebulizer via a flow compensation unit. All major chemical and
flow parameters affecting the complex formation adsorption and elution as well as interference were studied and optimized.
By processing 2.4 mL of sample, the enhancement factor was 39 and the sampling frequency was 50 h−1. For 30 s preconcentration time the detection limit was 0.3 μg L−1 and the relative standard deviation at 5.0 μg L−1 Cd concentration level was 2.9%. The calibration curve was linear in the range 0.8–40.0 μg L−1. The accuracy of the method was estimated by analyzing a certified reference material NIST-CRM 1643d (Trace elements in water).
Good recoveries were obtained for spiked natural-water and waste-water samples.

A flow injection wetting-film extraction system without segmentor and phase separator has been coupled to flame atomic absorption spectrometry for the determination of trace copper. Isobutyl methyl ketone (MIBK) was selected as coating solvent and 8-hydroxyquinoline (oxine) as the chelating reagent. By switching of a 8-channel valve and alternative initiation of two peristaltic pumps, MIBK, sample solution containing copper chelate of oxine, and air-segment sandwiched eluting solution (1.0 mol l−1 nitric acid) were sequentially aspirated into an extraction coil made of PTFE tubing of 360 cm length and 0.5 mm i.d. The formation of organic film in the wall of the extraction coil, extraction of the copper chelate into the organic film and back-extraction of the analyte into the eluting solution occurred consecutively when these zones aspirated into the extraction coil were propelled down the extraction coil by a carrier solution at a flow rate of 2 ml min−1. After leaving the extraction coil, the concentrated zone was transported to the nebulizer at its free uptake rate for atomization. Under the optimized conditions, an enrichment factor of 43 and a detection limit of 0.2 μg l−1 copper were achieved at a sample throughput rate of 30 h−1. Eleven determinations of a standard copper solution of 60 μg l−1 gave a relative standard deviation of 1.5%. Foreign ions possibly present in tap water and natural water did not interfere with the copper determination. The developed method has been successfully used to the determination of copper content of tap water and river water. 相似文献

A flow injection (FI) on-line solvent extraction system for electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) was developed with nickel as a model trace element. The nickel pyrrolidine-dithiocarbamate chelate was extracted on line into isobutyl methyl ketone, which was delivered into the FI system by a peristaltic pump equipped with poly(tetrafluoroethylene) tubing. The organic phase was separated from the aqueous phase by a novel gravity phase separator with a small conical cavity, and stored in a collector tube, from which 50 μl organic concentrate was introduced into the graphite tube by an air flow. ETAAS determination of the analyte was performed in parallel with the extraction process. An enrichment factor of 25 was obtained in comparison with 50 μl direct introduction while achieving a detection limit of 4 ng l−1 (3σ), and a precision of 1.5% relative standard deviation for 1.0 μg l−1 nickel (n = 11). The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of nickel in body fluids and other biological samples. 相似文献

A novel flow injection (FI) on-line displacement solid phase extraction preconcentration and/or separation method coupled with FAAS in order to minimize interference from other metals was developed for trace silver determination. The proposed method involved the on-line formation and subsequently pre-sorption of lead diethyldithiocarbamate (Pb-DDTC) into a column packed with PTFE-turnings. The preconcentration and/or separation of the Ag(I) took place through a displacement reaction between Ag(I) and Pb(II) of the pre-sorbed Pb-DDTC. Finally, the retained analyte was eluted with isobutyl methyl ketone (IBMK) and delivered directly to nebulizer for measuring. Interference from co-existing ions with lower DDTC complex stability in comparison with Pb-DDTC, was eliminated without need for any masking reagent. With 120 s of preconcentration time at a sample flow rate of 7.6 mL min−1, an enhancement factor of 110 and a detection limit (3 s) of 0.2 μg L−1 were obtained. The precision (RSD, n = 10) was 3.1% at the 10 μg L−1 level. The developed method was successfully applied to trace silver determination in a variety of environmental water samples and certified reference material. 相似文献

Manganese is extracted on-line from solid seafood samples by a simple continuous ultrasound-assisted extraction system (CUES). This system is connected to an on-line manifold, which permits the flow-injection flame atomic absorption spectrometric determination of manganese. Optimisation of the continuous leaching procedure is performed by an experimental design. The proposed method allows the determination of manganese with a relative standard deviation of 0.9% for a sample containing 23.4 μg g−1 manganese (dry mass). The detection limit is 0.4 μg g−1 (dry mass) for 30 mg of sample and the sample throughput is ca. 60 samples per hour. Accurate results are obtained by measuring TORT-1 certified reference material. The procedure is finally applied to mussel, tuna, sardine and clams samples. 相似文献

1-(2-pryidylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) immobilized on sodium dodecyl sulfate-coated nano alumina was developed for the preconcentration and determination of metal cations Co (II) from environmental and food samples. The research results displayed that adsorbent has the highest adsorption capacity for Co (II) in this system. Desorption by elution of the adsorbent with 2.0?ml of a mixture of nitric acid and ethanol was carried out. After phase separation, the enriched analyte in the final solution is determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) by using a micro sample introduction system. Analytical influencing parameters including pH value, amount of sorbent, equilibrium time, sample volume, volume and concentration of eluent were examined. The effect of common matrix ions has also been investigated and it was found that they had no influence on cobalt preconcentration. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the maximum capacity of sorbent was obtained as 20?mg?g?1. The preconcentration factor and limit of detection were found to be 250 and 0.15?µg?L?1, respectively. This method showed good precision with the relative standard deviation (RSD) of 2.4% and 2.1% in concentrations of 20 and 50?µg?L?1, respectively. The accuracy of the method was evaluated by comparison of results with those obtained by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry. A selective, simple and fast dispersive micro solid phase extraction method using magnetic graphene oxide (GO) as an efficient sorbent has been developed for the extraction, separation and speciation analysis of chromium ions. The method is based on different adsorption behaviour of Cr(VI) and Cr(III) species onto magnetic GO in aqueous solutions which allowed the selective separation and extraction of Cr(VI) in the pH range of 2.0–3.0. The retained Cr(VI) ions by the sorbent were eluted using 0.5 mL of 0.5 mol L?1 nitric acid solution in methanol and determined by ?ame atomic absorption spectrometry. Total chromium content was determined after the oxidation of Cr(III) to Cr(VI) by potassium permanganate. All effective parameters on the performance of the extraction process were thoroughly investigated and optimised. Under the optimised conditions, the method exhibited a linear dynamic range of 0.5–50.0 µg L?1 with a detection limit of 0.1 µg L?1 and pre-concentration factor of 200. The relative standard deviations of 3.8% and 4.6% (n = 8) were obtained at 25.0 µg L?1 level of Cr(VI) for intra- and inter-day analysis, respectively. A direct solid sampling flame atomic absorption spectrometric procedure for trace determination of cadmium in biological samples has been developed. Test samples (0.05–2.00 mg) were ground and weighed into small polyethylene vials, which were connected to the device for solid sample introduction into a conventional air/acetylene flame. Test samples were carried as a dry aerosol to a quartz cell, placed between the burner and the optical path, which had a perpendicular entrance and a slit in the upper part. The atomic vapor generated in the flame produced a transient signal that was totally integrated within 1 s. The effect of operating conditions and the extent of grinding on the analytical signal were evaluated. Background signals were always low and a characteristic mass of 0.29 ng Cd was obtained. Calibration was performed using different masses of solid certified reference materials. Results obtained for certified and in-house reference materials were typically within the 95% confidence interval of the certified and/or reference value, and the precision, expressed as relative standard deviation, was between 3.8 and 6.7%. The proposed system is simple and it might be adapted to conventional atomic absorption spectrometers allowing the determination of Cd in more than 80 test samples per hour, excluding weighing. 相似文献

A new Cu(II)-imprinted polymer has been prepared for selective solid-phase extraction of Cu(II) prior to its determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Two functional monomers, 4-(methacryloylamino)benzamide and 4-vinylpyridine, formed a complex with Cu(II) ion through coordination interactions. The self-assembled Cu(II)-monomer complex was copolymerised via bulk polymerisation method in the presence of ethyleneglycoldimethacrylate cross-linker. In order to remove Cu(II) ions, the resulting polymer was washed with 1.0 M HNO3 and then with water until obtaining a neutral pH. The ion imprinted polymer was characterised by Fourier transform infrared. The experimental conditions were optimised for solid-phase extraction of Cu(II) using a column of ion-imprinted polymer (IIP). Quantitative retention was achieved between pH 5.0 and 7.0, whereas the maximum recovery for the non-imprinted polymer (NIP) was about 74% at pH 7.0. The IIP showed higher selectivity to Cu(II) in comparison to the NIP. The IIP also exhibited excellent selectivity for Cu(II) in the presence of other metal ions. The relative standard deviation and limit of detection (3s) of the method were 1.6% and 1.8 µg L?1, respectively. The method was verified by analysis of two certified reference materials (CWW-TM-D and SRM 3280) and then applied to the determination of Cu(II) in seawater and lake water samples and haemodialysis concentrates. 相似文献

Cloud point extraction (CPE) has been used for the simultaneous pre-concentration of cadmium, copper, lead and zinc after the formation of a complex with 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol (TAN), and later analysis by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) using octylphenoxypolyethoxyethanol (Triton X-114) as surfactant. The chemical variables affecting the separation phase and the viscosity affecting the detection process were optimized. At pH 8.6, pre-concentration of only 50 ml of sample in the presence of 0.05% Triton X-114 and 2×10−5 mol l−1 TAN permitted the detection of 0.099, 0.27, 1.1 and 0.095 ng ml−1 cadmium, copper, lead and zinc, respectively. The enhancement factors were 57.7, 64.3, 55.6 and 63.7 for cadmium, copper, lead and zinc, respectively. Cloud point extraction was applied as a preconcentration step for the determination of trace level of Al(III) in water samples with electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS), flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) and UV-visible spectrophotometry. The aluminum was extracted as aluminum-Eriochrome Cyanine R (ECR) complex, at pH 6 by micelles of the non-ionic surfactant octylphenoxypolyethoxyethanol (Triton X-114). The investigations showed that the same CPE procedure can be used for different detection techniques. The results obtained from these techniques were evaluated. Under the optimal conditions, limit of detection obtained with ETAAS, FAAS and UV-visible spectrophotometry were 0.03 ng mL?1, 0.06 µg mL?1 and 0.01 µg mL?1, respectively. A procedure for the preconcentration of copper was described in this paper using multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) oxidized by potassium permanganate as the adsorbent for the enrichment of trace copper in water samples. Important parameters, such as the sample pH, the concentration and volume of eluent, sample flow rate and volume, and interference of coexisting ions, were investigated. The obtained results indicated that proposed method possessed an excellent analytical performance. The linear range, the detection limit, and precison (RSD) were 1-100 ng/mL (R2 = 0.9993), 0.32 ng/mL and 2.88%, respectively. The results showed that copper could be adsorbed quantitatively on the pretreated MWCNTs with potassium permanganate, and proposed method was very useful in the monitoring of copper in the environment. 相似文献

In this paper, two time-based flow injection (FI) separation pre-concentration systems coupled to graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS) for tellurium determination are studied and compared. The first alternative involves the pre-concentration of the analyte onto Dowex 1X8 employed as packaging material of a micro-column inserted in the flow system. The second set-up is based on the co-precipitation of tellurium with La(OH)3 followed by retention onto XAD resins. 建立火焰原子吸收光谱法测定锌合金中镁含量。选用10 mL盐酸溶液(1+1)溶解样品,加入5 mL质量浓度为100 g/L的LaCl3溶液,以消除铝对镁的化学干扰,在选定的仪器工作条件下进行测定。结果表明,镁的质量浓度在0~1.238 mg/L范围内与与吸光度具有良好的线性关系,相关系数为0.999 4,线性方程为Y=1.086 4X+0.018 5,方法测定下限为0.010 mg/L。样品测定结果的相对标准偏差为1.61%~3.45%(n=6),加标回收率为91.3%~94.7%。该方法准确度高,精密度好,满足锌合金中镁含量的日常检测要求。 相似文献

Micelle-mediated extraction/preconcentration is incorporated on-line into a flow injection system used to determine low levels of Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) present in various samples. The analyte is complexed with HBDAP (N,N′-bis(2-hydroxy-5-bromo-benzyl)1,2-diaminopropane). Under optimal conditions, a solution of 30% (m/v) NaCl and a sample solution containing 2.5 mL of 1% (m/v) sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), 0.5 mL of 1.8 × 10−3 M HBDAP and 2.5 mL of pH 8.5 borate buffer solution in 25 mL were pumped through the cotton filled mini-column; onto which the surfactant-rich phase containing the complex is collected. A solution of 0.5 M HNO3 in 50% acetone is used as the eluent. The limits of detection are (ng mL−1) Cd = 0.39, Cu = 3.2, Co = 7.5, Mn = 3.0, Ni = 3.4, Pb = 17.9 and Zn = 0.89 if the sample is allowed to flow for 30 s, but improved for extended preconcentration periods. Analysis of liquid and solid reference materials showed good agreement with the certified values. Complex formation constants between HBDAP and these metal ions were also determined potentiometrically. 相似文献

A continuous-flow procedure is proposed for the indirect determination of ascorbic acid, based on its reducing properties because of the oxidation of its 1,2-enediol group. Iron(III) was injected into a 1,10-phenanthroline stream, which was mixed with a sample carrier and then with a sodium picrate solution stream. In these conditions the iron(III) was reduced to iron(II) by the ascorbic acid. Thus, the iron(II) formed reacts with 1,10-phenanthroline to form a charged red complex, which with picrate ion forms a stable red-orange uncharged ion-association complex that is adsorbed on-line on a non-ionic polymeric adsorbent (Amberlite XAD-4), proportionally to the ascorbic acid in the sample. The unadsorbed iron was determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The proposed method allows the determination of ascorbic acid in the range 0.5–25 g ml–1 with a relative standard deviation of 2.9% at a rate of ca. 90 samples h–1. This method has been applied to the determination of ascorbic acid in pharmaceutical preparations, fruit juices and sweets. The results obtained in the analysis are compared with those provided by the 2,6-dichloroindophenol method. 相似文献
