We study the moving bright solitons in the weak attractive Bose–Einstein condensate with a spin–orbit interaction. By solving the coupled nonlinear Schr ?dinger equation with the variational method and the imaginary time evolution method, two kinds of solitons(plane wave soliton and stripe solitons) are found in different parameter regions. It is shown that the soliton speed dominates its structure. The detuning between the Raman beam and energy states of the atoms decides the spin polarization strength of the system. The soliton dynamics is also studied for various moving speed and we find that the shape of individual components can be kept when the speed of soliton is low.  相似文献

We study the relations between solitons of nonlinear Schro¨dinger equation and eigen-states of linear Schro¨dinger equation with some quantum wells. Many different non-degenerated solitons are re-derived from the eigen-states in the quantum wells. We show that the vector solitons for the coupled system with attractive interactions correspond to the identical eigen-states with the ones of the coupled systems with repulsive interactions. Although their energy eigenvalues seem to be different, they can be reduced to identical ones in the same quantum wells. The non-degenerated solitons for multi-component systems can be used to construct much abundant degenerated solitons in more components coupled cases.Meanwhile, we demonstrate that soliton solutions in nonlinear systems can also be used to solve the eigen-problems of quantum wells. As an example, we present the eigenvalue and eigen-state in a complicated quantum well for which the Hamiltonian belongs to the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian having parity–time symmetry. We further present the ground state and the first exited state in an asymmetric quantum double-well from asymmetric solitons. Based on these results, we expect that many nonlinear physical systems can be used to observe the quantum states evolution of quantum wells, such as a water wave tank, nonlinear fiber, Bose–Einstein condensate, and even plasma, although some of them are classical physical systems. These relations provide another way to understand the stability of solitons in nonlinear Schro¨dinger equation described systems, in contrast to the balance between dispersion and nonlinearity.  相似文献

We discuss the possible nonlinear waves of atomic matter wave in a Bose-Einstein condensate. One and two of two-dimensional (2D) dark solitons in the Bose-Einstein condensed system are investigated. A rich dynamics is studied for the interactions between two solitons. The interaction profiles of two solitons are greatly different if the angle between them are different. If the angle is small enough, the maximum amplitude during the interaction between two solitons is even less than that of a single soliton. However, if the angle is large enough, the maximum amplitude of two solitons can gradually attend to the sum of two soliton amplitudes.  相似文献

We consider a spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate trapped in a harmonic potential with different nonlinearity coeffi- cients. We illustrate the dynamics of soliton breathers in two-component and three-component states by numerically solv- ing the one-dimensional time-dependent coupled Gross-Pitaecskii equations (GPEs). We present that two condensates with repulsive interspecies interactions make elastic collision and novel soliton breathers are created in two-component state. We also demonstrate novel soliton breathers in three-component state with attractive coupling constants. Furthermore, possible reasons for creating soliton breathers are discussed.  相似文献

Holographic dark (bright) screening solitons are predicted in one dimension for a series circuit consisting of two photorefractive crystals connected electronically by electrode leads in a chain with a voltage source. Each crystal can support a holographic screening soliton. The two solitons are known collectively as a separate holographic screening soliton pair with three types: bright--bright, bright--dark and dark--dark. The numerical results show that the two solitons in a soliton pair can affect each other through a light-induced current and their coupling can affect their spatial profiles under the limit in which the optical wave has a spatial extent much less than the width of the crystal.  相似文献

Breathing Bright Solitons in a Bose—Einstein Condensate   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2       下载免费PDF全文
A Bose-Einstein condensate with time varying scattering length in time-dependent harmonic trap is analytically investigated and soliton-like solutions of the Gross-Pitaeviskii equation are obtained to describe single soliton, bisoliton and N-soliton properties of the matter wave. The influences of the geometrical property and modulate frequency of trapping potential on soliton behaviour are discussed. When the trap potential has a very sinall trap aspect ratio or oscillates with a high frequency, the matter wave preserves its shape nearly like a soliton train in propagation, while the breathing behaviour, which displays the periodic collapse and revival of the matter wave, is found for a relatively large aspect ratio or slow varying potential. Meanwhile mass centre of the matter wave translates and/or oscillates for different trap aspect ratio and trap frequencies.  相似文献

We investigate the interactions between components of various vector solitons in Bos-Einstein condensates by means of the least action principle, and derive the effective potentials for different vector solitons, which indicate that the interactions are of short range, and may be repulsive or attractive decided by the different intra- and inter-species interactions in such a system. In the case of attraction, the two solitons will oscillate about and pass through each other around the equilibrium state. The comparison of analytical results with mumertical simulation is presented.  相似文献

We study exact single-soliton solutions of an attractive Bose-Einstein condensate governed by a one-dimensional nonautonomous Gross-Pitaevskii system. For several different forms of time-dependent atom-atom interaction and external parabolic potential which satisfy the exact integrability scenario, we construct a set of new analytical nonautonomous deformed-soliton solutions, including the macroscopic wave function and the position of soliton's center of mass. The soliton characteristics are modulated by the external field parameters and deformation factors related to the number of the condensed atoms and the initial conditions. The results suggest a simple and effective method for experimentally generating matter-wave deformed solitons and manipulating their motions.  相似文献

Considering the non-locality of interactions in a Bose–Einstein condensate, the existence and stability of solitons subject to a PT-symmetric potential are discussed. In the framework of the variational approach, we investigate how the non-locality of interactions affects the self-localization and stability of a condensate with attractive two-body interactions. The results reveal that the non-locality of interactions dramatically influences the shape, width, and chemical potential of the condensate. Analytically variational computation also predicts that there exists a critical negative non-local interaction strength(p_c 0) with each fixed two-body interaction(g_0 0),and there exists no bright soliton solution for p_0 p_c. Furthermore, we study the effect of the non-locality interactions on the stability of the solitons using the Vakhitov–Kolokolov stability criterion. It is shown that for a positive non-local interaction(p_0 0), there always exist stable bright solitons in some appropriate parameter regimes.  相似文献

The interference between two condensates with repulsive interaction is investigated numerically by solving the onedimensional time-dependent Gross–Pitaevskii equation. The periodic interference pattern forms in two condensates, which are prepared in a double-well potential consisting of two truncated harmonic wells centered at different positions.Dark solitons are observed when two condensates overlap.Due to the existence of atom–atom interactions, atoms are transferred among the ground state and the excited states, which coincides with the condensate energy change.  相似文献

The main aim of this paper is to investigate the different types of soliton molecule solutions of the second extend(3+1)-dimensional Jimbo-Miwa equation in a fluid. Four different localized waves: line solitons, breather waves, lump solutions and resonance Y-type solutions are obtained by the Hirota bilinear method directly. Furthermore, the molecule solutions consisting of only line waves, breathers or lump waves are generated by combining velocity resonance condition and long wave limit method...  相似文献

We elucidate the existence, stability and propagation dynamics of multi-spot soliton packets in focusing saturable media. Such solitons are supported by an interface beside which two harmonically photonic lattices with different modulation depths are imprinted. We show that the surface model can support stable higher-order structures in the form of asymmetrical surface soliton trains, which is in sharp contrast to homogeneous media or uniform harmonic lattice modulations where stable asymmetrical multi-peaked solitons do not exist. Surface trains can be viewed as higher-order soliton states bound together by several different lowest order solitons with appropriate relative phases. Their existence as stable objects enriches the concept of compact manipulation of several different solitons as a single entity and offers additional freedom to control the shape of solitons by adjusting the modulation depths beside the interface.  相似文献

The incoherent interaction between solitons with different transverse dimensions in a noncentrosymmetric photorefractive crystal is studied both in theory and in experiment. An anomalous incoherent interaction between one- and two-dimensional solitons, whose attractive and repulsive effects depend on the soliton separation, is numerically demonstrated by employing an anisotropic model. By launching a one-dimensional green beam and a two-dimensional red beam into a biased SBN:60 crystal, the hybrid-dimensional soliton interaction is performed. The experimental results are in good agreement with the numerical ones.  相似文献

The temporal property of grey screening spatial solitons due to two-photon photorefractive effect in lowamplitude regime is analyzed. The results indicate that a broad solitons is generated at the beginning, and as time evolves, the intensity width of grey solitons decreases monotonically to a minimum value toward steady state. In the same propagation time, the FWHM of solitons decreases with p increasing or m decreasing. Moreover, the formation time of solitons is independent of p and m. The time is close to a constant determined by the dielectric relaxation time.  相似文献

We report on the rich dynamics of two-dimensional fundamental solitons coupled and interacting on the top of an elliptical shaped potential in a two-dimensional Ginzburg–Landau model. Under the elliptical shaped potential, the solitons display unique and dynamic properties, such as the generation of straight-line arrays, emission of either one elliptical shaped soliton or several elliptical ring soliton arrays, and soliton decay. When changing the depth and sharpness of the external potential and fixing other parameters of the potential, various scenarios of soliton dynamics are also revealed. These results suggest some possible applications for all-optical data-processing schemes, such as the routing of light signals in optical communication devices.  相似文献

The dynamics of a bright-bright vector soliton in a cigar-shaped Bose-Einstein condensate trapping in a harmonic potential is studied. The interaction between bright solitons in different species with small separation is derived.Unlike the interaction between solitons of the same species,it is independent of the phase difference between solitons. It may be of attraction or repulsion. In the former case, each soliton will oscillate about and pass through each other around the mass-center of the system, which will also oscillate harmonically due to the harmonic trapping potential.  相似文献

<正>We investigate the combined soliton solutions of two-component Bose—Einstein condensates with external potential. The "phase diagram" is obtained for the formation regions of different combined solitons. Our results show that the intraspecies(interspecies) interaction strengths and the external trapped potential clearly affect the formation of dark-dark, bright-bright,and dark-bright soliton solutions in different regions.Especially,we find that the bright-bright (dark-dark) soliton can exist in the case of both repulsive(attractive) intraspecies interaction strengths in the presence of external potential. This novel phenomenon is completely different from the formation of soliton solution of one-component Bose-Einstein condensates without external potential, and it will be useful for the study of two-component Bose-Einstein condensates.  相似文献

The dynamics of a dark soliton has been investigated in a Bose--Einstein condensate with an external magnetic trap, and the effects of localized impurity on the dynamics are discussed by the variational approach based on the renormalized integrals of motion. The reciprocal movement of the dark soliton is discussed by performing a standard linear analysis, and it is found that the effects of the localized impurity depend strictly on the positive or negative value of the impurity strength corresponding to the repulsive or attractive impurity. The numerical results confirm the theoretical analysis, and show that the effects also depend on the effective nonlinear coefficient and the harmonic frequency.  相似文献

The nonlinear Schr?dinger(NLS) equation and Boussinesq equation are two very important integrable equations. They have widely physical applications. In this paper, we investigate a nonlinear system, which is the two-component NLS equation coupled to the Boussinesq equation. We obtain the bright–bright, bright–dark, and dark–dark soliton solutions to the nonlinear system. We discuss the collision between two solitons. We observe that the collision of bright–bright soliton is inelastic and two solitons oscillating periodically can happen in the two parallel-traveling bright–bright or bright–dark soliton solution. The general breather and rogue wave solutions are also given. Our results show again that there are more abundant dynamical properties for multi-component nonlinear systems.  相似文献

We investigate kink-dark complex solitons(KDCSs) in a three-component Bose–Einstein condensate(BEC) with repulsive interactions and pair-transition(PT) effects. Soliton profiles critically depend on the phase differences between dark solitons excitation elements. We report a type of kink-dark soliton profile which shows a droplet-bubble-droplet with a density dip, in sharp contrast to previously studied bubble-droplets. The interaction between two KDCSs is further investigated. It demonstrates some striking particle transition behaviours during their collision processes, while soliton profiles survive after the collision. Additionally, we exhibit the state transition dynamics between a kink soliton and a dark soliton. These results suggest that PT effects can induce more abundant complex solitons dynamics in multi-component BEC.  相似文献
