A NONLINEAR LAVRENTIEV-BITSADZE MIXED TYPE EQUATION

In this paper the Tricomi problem for a nonlinear mixed type equation is studied. The coefficients of the mixed type equation are discontinuous on the line, where the equation changes its type. The existence of solution to this problem is proved. The method developed in this paper can be applied to study more difficult problems for nonlinear mixed type equations arising in gas dynamics.

抛物型Monge-Ampère型方程的Cauchy-Neumann问题

本文研究了一类抛物型Monge-Ampère型方程的Cauchy-Neumann问题.通过构造辅助函数,利用函数在极大值点的性质及柯西不等式等方法对方程的解进行估计,得到了方程解的全局二阶梯度估计.接着利用抛物方程的一般理论,进一步得到在光滑条件下,解的长时间存在性,推广了抛物型Monge-Ampère方程的结果.     

PROBABILISTIC OSTROWSKI TYPE INEQUALITIES

New very general univariate and multivariate probabilistic Ostrowski type inequalities are established, involving ‖·‖_∞ and ‖·‖ _p , p≥1 norms of probability density functions. Some of these inequalities provide pointwise estimates to the error of probability distribution function from the expectation of some simple function of the engaged random variable. Other inequalities give upper bounds for the expectation and variance of a random variable. All are done over finite domains. At the end are given applications, especially for the Beta random variable.     

ON THE ROBEL SUBGROUPS OF LARGE TYPE

The author defines the large type Borel subgroups of a reductive algebraic goup,which are used to discuss Langlands' L-goups and the Langlands classification of the admissible representations of reductive algebraic groups over R(see[1,2,5]) and determine all of the Borel subgroups of large type for the classical semisimple Lie groups.

关于一个第二类变分不等式的有限元逼近

A new type of finite element scheme including the numerical integration modi-fication is presented for the second type variational inequality. Our methods really simplify the finite element analysis and practical calculation. The unique existence and stability of finite element solution are proved , and particularly the optimal order error estimates are derived under H^1 and L2 norms.     

PARTITIONS OF SINGLE EXTERIOR TYPE

We characterize the irreducible representations of the general linear group GL(V) that have multiplicity 1 in the direct sum of all Schur modules of a given exterior power of V. These have come up in connection with the relations of the lower order minors of a generic matrix. We show that the minimal relations conjectured by Bruns, Conca and Varbaro are exactly those coming from partitions of single exterior type.     

GRADED RINGS OF LOCAL FINITE REPRESENTATION TYPE

Abstract

Graded Artin algebras whose category of graded modules is locally of finite representation type are introduced. The representation theory of such algebras is studied. In the hereditary case and in the stably equivalent to hereditary case, such algebras are classified.     

SOME LIOUVILLE TYPE THEOREMS FOR THE P-SUB-LAPLACIAN ON THE GROUP OF HEISENBERG TYPE

In this paper we prove some Liouville type results for the p-sub-Laplacian on the group of Heisenberg type. A strong maximum principle and a Hopf type principle concerning p-sub-Laplacian are established.
