The output characteristics of the Er-doped mode-locked fiber laser using a single-walled carbon nanotube saturable absorber are investigated theoretically with a nonlinear Schrtidinger equation and a saturable absorption equation using realistic parameters. Stable self-starting mode-locking pulses are achieved under net normal, net zero, and net anomalous cavity group velocity dispersion (GVD) respectively. A spectrum with a flat top is obtained from the net normal cavity GVD laser while a spectrum with Kelly side-bands is obtained from the net anomalous cavity GVD laser. The characteristics of the pulse duration changing with cavity GVD and modulation depth of the single-walled carbon nanotubes are discussed. The characteristics of the mode-locking pulses from net normal, net zero, and net anomalous cavity GVD mode-locked fiber lasers are compared. These systematical results are useful for designing mode-locked fiber lasers with saturable absorbers made by different kinds of carbon nano-materials.  相似文献

The paper describes a low cost Pockels cell driver for Q-switching flash lamp pumped pulsed solid state lasers. The driver consists of a high voltage pulsed power supply variable from 0 to 5 kV using a standard step up transformer. The pulse width and pulse repetition rate are varied using standard TTL circuits from 50 μs to 2 ms and 1 ppm to 50 Hz, respectively. The pulsed high voltage along with a high voltage switch consisting of a stack of bipolar transistors is used to drive a Pockels cell. The Q-switched pulsed duration measured in Ruby and Nd-YAG lasers are 35 and 15 ns, respectively. The Pockels cell driver performance is consistent for more than 5×107 shots.  相似文献

光纤锁模激光器结构简单, 运转稳定, 且输出的超短脉冲序列具有极高的时钟稳定性, 在抽运探测、脉冲相干合成等要求高精度时钟同步的前沿领域有着广阔的应用前景. 本文通过激光器腔内的电光调制器进行反馈控制, 实现了两台光纤锁模激光器之间的紧密时钟信号同步; 并且通过平衡光学互相关方法, 对残余的时钟误差信号进行了测量, 分辨率达到了13 as. 通过优化激光器的腔内动力学过程及反馈环路的参数, 在[1 Hz, 10 MHz]的积分区间内得到了109 as的残余时钟误差, 对应单台激光器的平均时间抖动为77 as.  相似文献

为了获得具有特殊要求的驱动激光,设计了一套以Nd:YVO4锁模激光器为种子光,用二极管激光器泵浦的Nd:YAG放大系统进行放大的激光系统。对放大过程中锁模激光脉冲串因增益饱和造成的脉冲串包络畸变以及对包络的整形控制进行了研究。实验获得能量为24 mJ的基频光,5.7 mJ的倍频光,0.608 mJ的紫外四倍频光;通过脉冲串整形控制,实现了包络顶部平整的紫外超短脉冲串输出,满足了光阴极注入器对驱动激光的特殊需求。  相似文献

Soliton strings in mode-locked lasers are obtained using a variant of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, appropriately modified to model power (intensity) and energy saturation. This equation goes beyond the well-known master equation often used to model these systems. It admits mode-locking and soliton strings in both the constant dispersion and dispersion-managed systems in the (net) anomalous and normal regimes; the master equation is contained as a limiting case. Analysis of soliton interactions show that soliton strings can form when pulses are a certain distance apart relative to their width. Anti-symmetric bi-soliton states are also obtained. Initial states mode-lock to these states under evolution. In the anomalous regime individual soliton pulses are well approximated by the solutions of the unperturbed nonlinear Schrödinger equation, while in the normal regime the pulses are much wider and strongly chirped.  相似文献

本文报道用一台对撞脉冲锁模Nd:YAG激光器的三倍频光作为泵浦光源,采用超短腔结构,获得叶绿素的红色ps脉冲激光输出的装置和实验结果。研究了叶绿素a和b在各种聚合状态下输出激光波长随染料浓度的变化关系,当叶绿素a-乙醇溶液浓度为2×10~(-3)M,激光腔长<36μm时可获得单模调谐ps系列脉冲输出,激光束的发散角≈60mrad。  相似文献

掺镱(Yb3+光纤被动锁模激光器谐振腔采用线性腔结构,腔内插入二分之一波片和偏振分束器引入偏振旋转,结合半导体可饱和吸收镜的自起动,实现稳定的被动锁模运转。腔内插入光栅对,提供负的群速度色散,以补偿光纤所带来的正色散,达到压缩脉宽的目的。当泵浦功率为300 mW、光栅对的距离为10 cm时,获得稳定的锁模运转,锁模输出功率28 mW,脉冲重复频率20 MHz,输出光谱宽度达15 nm,按脉冲变换极限公式,其脉冲时间宽度与频带宽度的乘积为0.315计算,脉宽可达100 fs以下。  相似文献

We report on a theoretical and experimental study of an all-normal-dispersion (ANDi) Yb-doped mode-locked fiber laser, in which nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) is used to realize mode-locking without any dispersion compensation. Based on the coupled nonlinear Schrdinger (CNLS) equation, a model simulating the mode-locked process of an allnormal-dispersion ring fiber laser is developed, which shows that the achievement of stable mode-locking depends on the alignment of the polarization controller (PC) along the fast-polarization axis of the fiber, the birefringence intensity, and the net cavity dispersion. According to the theoretical analysis, stable mode-locked pulses with pulse duration 300 ps and average output power 33.9mW at repetition rate 36MHz are obtained.  相似文献

A general theoretical model for passively mode-locked lasers is presented, in which both the self-frequency shift and either a fast or a slow saturable absorber response are taken into account. An exact soliton-like solution and condition for its existence are obtained under a definite compatible condition. The stability of the solution is analyzed by using a variational method, and a parameter region, in which the solution is linearly stable, is acquired theoretically. To verify the theoretical predictions, a typical example is given for stable pulse propagation over a long distance. The numerical results show that the soliton-like solution is stable under some perturbations within the linearly stable region and an arbitrary Gaussian pulse converges to the exact soliton-like solution after evolution in a distance.  相似文献

We numerically investigate the formation and interaction of parabolic-shaped pulse pair in a passively mode-locked Yb-doped fiber laser. Based on a lumped model, the parabolic-shaped pulse pair is obtained by controlling the inter-cavity average dispersion and gain saturation energy, Moreover, pulse repulsive and attractive motion are also achieved with different pulse separations. Simulation results show that the phase shift plays an important role in pulse interaction, and the interaction is determined by the inter-cavity average dispersion and gain saturation energy, i.e., the strength of the interaction is proportional to the gain saturation energy, the stronger gain saturation energy will result in higher interaction intensity. On the contrary, the increase of the inter-cavity dispersion will counterbalance some interaction force. The results also show that the interaction of a parabolic-shaped pulse pair has a larger interaction distance compare to the conventional solitons.  相似文献

构建了可自启动的双波长运转掺铒光纤锁模激光器.通过优化增益光纤长度,利用掺铒光纤在1530nm附近的再吸收效应调节激光器的增益谱,使激光器在1530nm和1560nm附近具有相同的增益强度.实验中采用31cm掺铒光纤作为增益光纤,以透射式半导体可饱和吸收体作为锁模器件,实现了自启动双波长锁模运转.激光器锁模输出重复频率为58.01MHz,信噪比为58.2dB,最高输出功率为4.8mW.锁模输出的光谱在1532.4nm和1552.3nm处具有两个强度接近的谱峰,谱峰间距约为20nm.该激光器无需手动调节即可实现双波长运转,更便于实际使用.  相似文献

Pulse-shortening and pulse broadening effects in passively mode-locked lasers are analysed. A steady-state pulse duration limit is calculated and compared with round-trip simulations. We show that in the presence of a bandwidth-limiting component intracavity selfphase modulation in high power mode-locked and Q-switched lasers is accompanied by interesting pulse-shaping phenomena. If the phase modulation is properly controlled the pulse duration can approach the limit given by the frequency bandwidth of the laser. For example, for a Nd: YAG laser our calculations predict an intracavity pulse compression by approximately a factor of ten over the typical pulse duration of conventional mode-locking.  相似文献

Passive mode-locking in fiber lasers is investigated by numerical and experimental means. A non-distributed scalar model solving the nonlinear Schr?dinger equation is implemented to study the starting behavior and intra-cavity dynamics numerically. Several operation regimes at positive net-cavity dispersion are experimentally accessed and studied in different environmentally stable, linear laser configurations. In particular, pulse formation and evolution in the chirped-pulse regime at highly positive cavity dispersion is discussed. Based on the experimental results a route to highly energetic pulse solutions is shown in numerical simulations.  相似文献

We have numerically simulated the operation of the Fourier-domain mode-locked (FDML) fiber laser based on the wavelength reconstruction method instead of numerical solving the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. We studied the influences of the filter bandwidth and the relative time delay caused by the fiber chromatic dispersion on the instantaneous linewidth of the FDML fiber laser. The results show that the instantaneous linewidth broadens as the filter bandwidth and the relative time delay increase. When the filter has the bandwidth of 0.02 nm, the narrowest and broadest instantaneous linewidths are 0.024 and 0.042 nm, respectively. We give an understanding for the oscillation of the instantaneous linewidth of FDML. The presented result can be used to evaluate the performance achievable in the FDML fiber lasers.  相似文献
