The influence of a small electric perturbation of variable phase on the brightness wave of alternating electroluminescence of ZnS-Cu is investigated. The results are compared with the model described in [1]. The increase in the number of ionized activators after switching on the electric field is studied and is found to reach equilibrium. after about 50 to 150 sec.

Betatron oscillations in an accelerator with a general field I
The paper gives a linear theory of equilibrium trajectories in an accelerator with a generalized magnetostatic field, the components of which are defined on a general rotation surface. Equations of motion of the particles in natural coordinates are derived with respect to the change in energy and dissipative force. A system of equilibrium trajectories is found in the general form. Conditions for the field components on the reference surface, necessary for the existence of equilibrium trajectories, for the conservation of their geometric similarities and for maintaining the constancy of the frequencies of the betatron oscillations, are derived. A condition is also derived which must be satisfied by the reference surface in order to conserve constant circular frequency of the particles. It is seen that it is not possible to find a field for an accelerator with an exactly constant circular frequency and with constant frequencies of the betatron oscillation in the relativistic energy region. An ultra-relativistic cyclotron with such properties is realizable.

An exact calculation of the frequencies of localized vibrations in a crystal with defects meets with considerable difficulties and therefore only the simplest cases have been calculated [9, 10]. An approximate calculation is confined to computing the frequencies of a system composed of several atoms in the neighbourhood of the defect. The interaction between this system and the other atoms of the lattice, which however are immobile in this approximation, is taken into consideration. Since the analytical estimate of the approximation is very rough, the approximate and exact calculations have been compared for some concrete cases (Fig. 1, 2). It is clear from these calculations that the use of the proposed approximation leads to good results.

The spin-two particle is described by a symmetric tensorh subject to the subsidiary conditionsh = h =0. Their covariant generalization and the wave equation have been obtained directly from the Eulerian variational equations by algebraic methods only. In addition to the tensor fieldh a symmetric third-rank tensor = as well as a vector fieldA have been added, neither of which enter in the final result. The Lagrangian function is taken as a linear sum of all combinations which can be constructed from these functions, as well as terms involving the curvature tensor and its two possible contractions. Variation with respect toh , andA independently gives the Euler equations. A Bloch wall has an integral magnetic moment which is due to the spatial distribution of the magnetic moments of the spin. The external magnetic field thus acts on the wall with a torque, which leads to the rotation of the sub-domains and therefore to deformation of the walls. A theory of this rotation is given and from it a microphysical model of the undulatory surface structure in uniaxial ferromagnets is derived. Experiments performed on magnetoplumbite single crystals fully confirm the theoretical assumptions.

The paper solves the problem of gas ionization in a discharge path in a very dilute gas, where the free path of the electrons is much larger than the dimensions of the path and the transit time of the electrons between the electrodes is of the order of the period of the applied h-f voltage. It was found that for a certain ratio of the transit time of the electrons between the electrodes in the discharge path to the period of the h-f oscillation, resonance occurs when the wattless current component is zero. The electron density rises in the path and thus also the gas ionization.

In the temperature range T = 5–295 K, the spectralluminescent properties and curves of thermostimulated luminescence (TSL) of molecules of triphenylamine (TPA), trirtolylamine (TTA), triranisolamine (TAA), and N,N'diphenylbis(3methylphenyl)(1,1'biphenyl)4,4'diamine (TPD) in polystyrene and 4Brpolystyrene matrices have been investigated. It has been found that photoirradiation at room temperature in the region of the lowest electron transition of molecules leads to a decrease in the intensities of the luminescence, photoluminescence, and TSL bands, as well as to the formation of new deep traps for charge carriers. At equal irradiation doses these changes in TPD are noticeably less pronounced than in TPA, TTA, and TAA. The higher photochemical stability of TPD molecules compared to TPA, TTA, and TAA is attributed to the difference in the mechanisms of nonradiative deactivation of the triplet states of molecules.  相似文献

It is shown that a number of statistical characteristics are asymptotically independent of. As for the attractor, it can be regarded as a direct product ofO(1/) equivalent subattractors, their statistical characteristics being asymptotically independent of . The results enable one to predict some characteristics of the attractor with fractal dimensionD 1 for the case 1, when they are inaccessible numerically. An infinite number of effectively infinite clusters are predicted at the percolation threshold, if effectively infinite means that a cluster's mass increases with a positive power of the lattice size L. All these cluster masses increase as L D with the fractal dimension D = d – /v, while the mass of the rth largest cluster for fixed L decreases as 1/r , with = D/d in d dimensions. These predictions are confirmed by computer simulations for the square lattice, where D = 91/48 and = 91/96.  相似文献

Magnetic transitions are described by the critical indices0,1/3,4/3 while some ferroelectric transitions appear to give0,R~1/2,1. It is pointed out that these two sets of values for the critical indices are allowed by the scaling laws and stability conditions near the phase transitions.The authors thank Prof. R. S. The solution r2 for a scalar field (gravitational constant), which is asymptotically exact for supercompact configurations and which Saakyan and Mnatsakanyan obtained from the numerical solution of the hydrostatics equations in the Newtonian approximation of the Jordan-Brans-Dicke theory, is used to study the gravitational stability of such configurations. We have found the stability condition 2/3 for polytropic configurations ( is the polytropic exponent) instead of 4/3, which is known for configurations of low compactness. It is shown that the Fokker-Planck operator can be derived via a projection-perturbation approach, using the repartition of a more detailed operator into a perturbation 1 and an unperturbed part 0. The standard Fokker-Planck structure is recovered at the second order in 1, whereas the perturbation terms of higher order are shown to provoke the breakdown of this structure. To get rid of these higher order terms, a key approximation, local linearization (LL), is made. In general, to evaluate at the second order in 1 the exact expression of the diffusion coefficient which simulates the influence of a Gaussian noise with a finite correlation time, a resummation up to infinite order in must be carried out, leading to what other authors call the best Fokker-Planck approximation (BFPA). It is shown that, due to the role of terms of higher order in 1, the BFPA leads to predictions on the equilibrium distributions that are reliable only up to the first order in t. The LL, on the contrary, in addition to making the influence of terms of higher order in 1 vanish, results in a simple analytical expression for the term of second order that is formally coincident with the complete resummation over all the orders in t provided by the Fox theory. The corresponding diffusion coefficient in turn is shown to lead in the limiting case to exact results for the steady-state distributions. Therefore, over the whole range 0 the LL turns out to be an approximation much more accurate than the global linearization proposed by other authors for the same purpose of making the terms of higher order in 1 vanish. In the short- region the LL leads to results virtually coincident with those of the BFPA. In the large- region the LL is a more accurate approximation than the BFPA itself. These theoretical arguments are supported by the results of both analog and digital simulation.  相似文献

The instability of spin waves at ferromagnetic resonance is discussed. An equation of the stationary state of spin wavesk0 is derived by means of the quantum theory of spin waves. It is shown when discussing this equation that the concept of the critical uniform precession angle may be obtained when using an approximation which neglects the action of spin wavesk0 backward on their own excitation. We believe we are justified in supposing that, due to this effect, a stable stationary state can exist even above the critical amplitude of uniform precession, given by theories up to now.

A thickness dependence of the permittivity ofc-domain barium titanate single crystals was found. The experimental results were explained by means of a model of a dielectric with surface layers. The thickness of the layer and the permittivity of the surface layer and bulk of the crystal were determined.

In paper [1] Fang derived an expression for the complex conductivity of plasma assuming that the distribution function of the electrons is Maxwellian and the collision frequency is directly proportional to their velocity. Since the assumptions are approximately satisfied in the positive column of a d-c glow discharge in Ne, the applicability of Fang's relation is investigated for this case.
