The dielectric properties and optical transmission of stoichiometric lead scandotantalate (PST) single crystals in strong electric fields was studied above the temperature of the spontaneous ferroelectric phase transition (Tsp). It is shown that the mechanism of polarization response directly above Tsp is related to induced polarization effects and macrohysteretic behavior only in ac fields above 5 kV/cm. Ananalysis of reciprocal dielectric permittivity carried out over a broad temperature range far above the temperature at which the dielectric permittivity passes through a maximum revealed that specific features of the relaxor behavior manifest themselves up to 400°C even in highly ordered PST crystals.  相似文献

Propagation characteristics of a high-power electromagnetic wave through an inhomogeneous magnetized plasma is investigated. Considering the momentum transfer equations for electrons and ions and taking into account the ponderomotive force, the distribution of electron density and dielectric permittivity are obtained. Using non-linear dielectric permittivity and Maxwell's equations in the absence of external current and charge densities, non-linear wave equations are achieved. The results indicate that the external static magnetic field can modify the profiles of both the electric and magnetic fields. It is also shown that the external static magnetic field enhances the amplitude of the electron density and the non-linear dielectric permittivity.  相似文献

In the present work, numerical studies on the effects of weakly relativistic ponderomotive force and space charge in the nonlinear interaction of a high-power microwave beam with a plasma are carried out. It is shown that, the profiles of the electron density and dielectric permittivity contain high peaks, and modulation of wavelength occurs in electron density distribution by increasing the microwave energy flux. In addition, it is indicated that the profiles of the electric and magnetic fields in relativistic regime are lengthened more than non-relativistic regime by increasing the initial electron density and the relativistic effects cause the increase in oscillation wavelength of electron density, dielectric permittivity and space charge field, in comparison with the non-relativistic regime. Finally, the results of the research show that the steepening in electron density distributions and their oscillation wavelength are enhanced, when the relativistic effects appear.  相似文献

A pure dielectric metamaterial absorber with broadband and thin thickness is proposed, whose structure is designed as a periodic cross-hole array. The pure dielectric metamaterial absorber with high permittivity is prepared by ceramic reinforced polymer composites. Compared with those with low permittivity, the absorber with high permittivity is more sensitive to structural parameters, which means that it is easier to optimize the equivalent electromagnetic parameters and achieve wide impedance matching by altering the size or shape of the unit cell. The optimized metamaterial absorber exhibits reflection loss below -10 dB in 7.93 GHz-35.76 GHz with a thickness of 3.5 mm, which shows favorable absorption properties under the oblique incidence of TE polarization (±45°). Whether it is a measured or simulated value, the strongest absorbing peak reaches below -45 dB, which exceeds that of most metamaterial absorbers. The distributions of power loss density and electric and magnetic fields are investigated to study the origin of their strong absorbing properties. Multiple resonance mechanisms are proposed to explain the phenomenon, including polarization relaxation of the dielectric and edge effects of the cross-hole array. This work overcomes the shortcomings of the narrow absorbing bandwidth of dielectrics. It demonstrates that the pure dielectric metamaterial absorber with high permittivity has great potential in the field of microwave absorption.  相似文献

A new method for quick and pretty accurate measurements of splay, twist and bend elastic constants of nematic liquid crystals is experimentally verified. The main concept relies on exploiting only the electric field and determining magnitudes of nematic elastic constants from threshold fields for Freedericksz transitions in only one hybrid in-plane-switched cell. In such cell the deformations of an investigated liquid crystal are controlled by three separated pairs of electrodes confining measurement domains. In two of them inter-digital electrodes are mounted on one cell cover. Splay, twist and bend elastic constants can be measured by a proper choice of electrodes?? configuration together with orienting cover coatings (without applying magnetic fields). In this paper, we describe layout of our cells and results of experimental tests by using different liquid crystals: 5CB and 6CHBT (with positive dielectric anisotropy), Demus?? esters (with negative dielectric anisotropy) and new liquid crystals mixtures produced in our university.  相似文献

AC electric fields are of increasing importance for the generation of fluid flows in microsystems. We analyse numerically the use of AC electric fields at microwave frequencies for electro-thermal actuation of water in microdevices. Water is heated because of its significant dielectric loss at microwave frequencies. Buoyancy and dielectric forces actuate in the liquid bulk, and the relative importance between them is studied. The microwave liquid actuation can be used for pure water as well as for water saline solutions, such as bio-fluids. Therefore, it is of interest for the Lab-on-a-Chip technology.  相似文献

The dielectric permittivity tensor elements of a rotating cold collisionless plasma spheroid in an external magnetic field with toroidal and axial components are obtained. The effects of inhomogeneity in the densities of charged particles and the initial toroidal velocity on the dielectric permittivity tensor and field equations are investigated. The field components in terms of their toroidal components are calculated and it is shown that the toroidal components of the electric and magnetic fields are coupled by two differential equations. The influence of thermal and collisional effects on the dielectric tensor and field equations in the rotating plasma spheroid are also investigated. In the limiting spherical case, the dielectric tensor of a stationary magnetized collisionless cold plasma sphere is presented.  相似文献

It is proposed that the kinetics and dynamics of ferroelectric liquid crystals may be studied by using the echo responses to the pulsed action of a microwave electric field. For ferroelectric liquid crystals, with homogeneously oriented molecules, calculations are made of the echo signals for two pulses and it is shown that these have values which are quite easily measured. Nickel–rubber nanocomposites were synthesized by incorporating ferromagnetic nickel nanoparticles in a natural rubber as well as neoprene rubber matrix. Complex dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability of these composites were evaluated in the X-band microwave frequencies at room temperature using cavity perturbation technique. The dielectric loss in natural rubber is smaller compared to neoprene rubber. A steady increase in the dielectric permittivity is observed with increase in the content of nickel in both the composites. The magnetic permeability exhibits a steady decrease with increase in frequency and magnetic loss shows a relaxation at 8 GHz. The suitability of these composites as microwave absorbers is modeled based on the reflection loss which is dependant on the real and imaginary components of the complex dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability.  相似文献

This paper presents the results of an investigation of microwave dielectric dispersion in the proper semiconductive ferroelectrics TIInS2 and TIGaSe2 with an incommensurate structure modulation. In these crystals there is a strongly overdamped soft ferroelectric mode, whose frequency in the vicinity of the phase transitions drops to the millimetre wave region and causes dielectric microwave dispersion plus a high contribution to the static dielectric permittivity. Within the incommensurate phase crystal defects, such as impurities, cause pinning of the soft mode. Because of this pinning effect the phason frequency increases. Pinning also changes the dynamical dielectric properties and the contribution of the phason and amplitudon to the static permittivity.  相似文献

Studies of the crystal structure, elemental composition, and dielectric properties of strontium titanate films in SrTiO3/CeO2/Al2O3 multilayered structures are reported. Data on the crystal lattice and impurity contents have been obtained, and temperature and electric field dependences of the dielectric properties of SrTiO3 films in the microwave range have been measured. An analysis of the results is made to establish the reason for the nonmonotonic dependence of the small-signal dielectric permittivity of SrTiO3 films on temperature. Fiz. Tverd. Bias currents in a thin dielectric nonconducting torus are investigated, and the resonant mode of excitation of these currents is established. The similarity of the frequency spectrum of such a dielectric element to the spectra of a classical Thomson oscillatory circuit and a metamaterial with negative permittivity is demonstrated. The resonant frequency of electromagnetic oscillations of the ring dielectric circuit and magnetic and electric fields of such a circuit under resonant excitation are determined.  相似文献

A multi-band absorber composed of high-permittivity hexagonal ring dielectric resonators and a metallic ground plate is designed in the microwave band.Near-unity absorptions around 9.785 GHz,11.525 GHz,and 12.37 GHz are observed for this metamaterial absorber.The dielectric hexagonal ring resonator is made of microwave ceramics with high permittivity and low loss.The mechanism for the near-unity absorption is investigated via the dielectric resonator theory.It is found that the absorption results from electric and magnetic resonances where enhanced electromagnetic fields are excited inside the dielectric resonator.In addition,the resonance modes of the hexagonal resonator are similar to those of standard rectangle resonators and can be used for analyzing hexagonal absorbers.Our work provides a new research method as well as a solid foundation for designing and analyzing dielectric metamaterial absorbers with complex shapes.  相似文献

采用带法兰结构的TE01n圆柱谐振腔,用无损检测的方法测量薄板型微波介质材料的复介电常数。利用轴向模式匹配法对谐振腔内的电磁场进行了求解,给出了相对介电常数和损耗角正切的计算公式,并利用矢量网络分析仪对几种常用微波介质材料进行了测量,其结果表明:该测量方法对相对介电常数的测量误差不超过1%,而对损耗角正切的测量误差不超过10%。该方法还具备一腔多模的测试能力,测量频率可调,可用于介质材料频率特性的测量。  相似文献

This paper reports on the frequency dependence of the magnetic and electric power dissipation in a magnetic fluid sample, in the microwave frequency range (0.5 to 8GHz), at various values of the static magnetic field (0 to 167.8kA/m). The computation of the power dissipation relies on the experimental values measured for the complex dielectric permittivity, ɛ = ɛ′ - iɛ″, and the complex magnetic permeability, μ = μ′ - iμ″, over the same frequency range. The results show that the magnetic power dissipation is much larger than the electric one for the investigated sample. At a specific frequency, f (Hz) , the power dissipation, p, depends on the external magnetic field, and exhibits a maximum. The result obtained suggests the possibility of controlling the energy absorption in the microwave range by means of the application of an external magnetic field.  相似文献

The temperature behavior of I-U curves and the field and temperature dependences of the electrical resistivity and dielectric permittivity of crystals of the LiCu2O2 phase have been studied. It was established that the crystals belong to p-type semiconductors and that their static resistivity in the range 80–260 K follows the Mott law ρ=Aexp(T0/T)1/4 describing variable-range hopping over localized states. At comparatively low electric fields, the crystals exhibit threshold switching and characteristic S-shaped I-U curves containing a region of negative differential resistivity. In the critical voltage region, jumps in the conductivity and dielectric permittivity are observed. Possible mechanisms of the disorder and electrical instability in these crystals are discussed.  相似文献

A composite medium consisting of two sublattices of dielectric spherical particles of high permittivity and different radii embedded in a dielectric matrix of smaller permittivity are considered. It has been shown that such a composite medium reveals properties of an isotropic double negative media (DNG) in a limited frequency range, when resonance oscillations of HIII mode in one kind of particles and EIII mode in another kind of particles are excited simultaneously. The EIII resonance and the HIII resonance give rise to the magnetic dipole momentum and the electric dipole momentum correspondingly. Averaging the magnetic momentum and the electric momentum over the cells belonging to the appropriate spherical particles gives the negative permittivity and permeability. The model of diffraction of a plane electromagnetic wave on a dielectric sphere is presented and compared with the mixing rule based consideration. The results obtained are rather close. Distribution of the electromagnetic wave outside the sphere is calculated. Influence of the dispersion of the sphere size and the dielectric permittivity on the effective parameters of the DNG material is estimated.  相似文献

At high magnetic fields radiation losses, wavelength effects, self-resonance, and the high resistance of typical components all contribute to increased losses in conventional RF coil designs. High permittivity ceramic dielectric resonators create strong uniform magnetic fields in a compact structure at high frequencies and can potentially solve some of the challenges of high field coil design. In this study an NMR probe was constructed for operation at 600 MHz (14.1 T) using an inductively fed CaTiO3 (relative permittivity of 156) cylindrical hollow bore dielectric resonator. The design has an unmatched Q value greater than 2000, and the electric field is largely confined to the dielectric itself, with near zero values in the hollow bore which accommodates the sample. Experimental and simulation mapping of the RF field show good agreement, with the ceramic resonator giving a pulse width approximately 25% less than a loop gap resonator of similar inner dimensions. High resolution images, with voxel dimensions less than 50 μm3, have been acquired from fixed zebrafish samples, showing excellent delineation of several fine structures.  相似文献

In this work the sensing capability of an artificial magnetic metamaterial based on pairs of metal slabs is demonstrated, both theoretically and experimentally, in the microwave regime. The demonstration is based on transmission measurements and simulations monitoring the shift of the magnetic resonance frequency as one changes a thin dielectric layer placed between the slabs of the pairs. Strong dependence of the magnetic resonance frequency on both the permittivity and the thickness of the dielectric layer under detection was observed. The sensitivity to the dielectrics′ permittivity (ε) is larger for dielectrics of low ε values, which makes the approach suitable for sensing organic materials also in the THz regime. The capability of our approach for THz sensing is also demonstrated through simulations.  相似文献

本文在蠕动流近似的基础上分析计算了具有不同介电常数工质的气泡在外电场力作用下的受力状况。计算结果表明电场力的水平分力使气泡沿场强方向伸长,并且液体和气体相对介电常数之比越大的工质所受的电场力越大。从而,沸腾换热过程中外加电场对液体和气体相对介电常数比值较大的工质能够产生更大的影响。  相似文献
