This paper is concerned with a nonhomogeneous multipoint boundary-value problem (BVP) of a second-order differential equation with one-dimensional p-Laplacian. Using multiple fixed-point theorems, new sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of at least three solutions of this BVP are established. An example is presented to illustrate the main results. The first emphasis of this paper is to show that the approach to get three positive solutions of a BVP by using multiple fixed-point theorems can be extended to treat nonhomogeneous BVPs. The second emphasis is put on the nonlinear term f involved with the first-order delta operator.  相似文献

In this article we study basic properties for a class of nonlinear integral operators related to their fundamental solutions. Our goal is to establish Liouville type theorems: non-existence theorems for positive entire solutions for Iu?0 and for Iu+up?0, p>1.We prove the existence of fundamental solutions and use them, via comparison principle, to prove the theorems for entire solutions. The non-local nature of the operators poses various difficulties in the use of comparison techniques, since usual values of the functions at the boundary of the domain are replaced here by values in the complement of the domain. In particular, we are not able to prove the Hadamard Three Spheres Theorem, but we still obtain some of its consequences that are sufficient for the arguments.  相似文献

Herein we consider the existence of solutions to second-order, two-point boundary value problems (BVPs) for systems of ordinary differential inclusions. Some new Bernstein-Nagumo conditions are presented that ensure a priori bounds on the derivative of solutions to the differential inclusion. These a priori bound results are then applied, in conjunction with appropriate topological methods, to prove some new existence theorems for solutions to systems of BVPs for differential inclusions. The new conditions allow of the treatment of systems of BVPs without growth restrictions.  相似文献

In this work, a differentiable multiobjective optimization problem with generalized cone constraints is considered, and the equivalence of weak Pareto solutions for the problem and for its η-approximated problem is established under suitable conditions. Two existence theorems for weak Pareto solutions for this kind of multiobjective optimization problem are proved by using a Karush–Kuhn–Tucker type optimality condition and the F-KKM theorem.  相似文献

Summary This paper considers the existence of optimal controls for systems governed by a second order parabolic partial differential equation in divergence form with Cauchy conditions. As preliminary results, theorems concerning the convergence of the sequence of weak solutions corresponding to a sequence of admissible controls are proved. Two general forms of criteria are considered. The first one is taken as a function of the weak solution of the system, and the other is taken as a function of the solution of the system and control. Several theorems and corollaries on the existence of optimal controls are then presented.  相似文献

We use Brouwer degree to prove existence and multiplicity results for the periodic solutions of some nonlinear second order difference equations involving discrete -Laplacian. We obtain in particular upper and lower solutions theorems, Ambrosetti–Prodi type multiplicity results, sharp existence conditions for nonlinearities which are bounded from below or from above and necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of positive periodic solutions when the nonlinearity is singular at 0.  相似文献

We give sampling theorems associated with boundary value problems whose differential equations are of the form M(y) = λS(y), where M and S are differential expressions of the second and first order respectively and the eigenvalue parameter may appear in the boundary conditions. The class of the sampled functions is not a class of integral transforms as is the case in the classical sampling theory, but it is a class of integrodifferential transforms. We use solutions of the problem as well as Green's function to derive two sampling theorems.  相似文献

Weakly nonlinear and strongly nonlinear convolution-type Volterra equations u(x) = (K * ϕ(u))(x) are studied in new classes of weakly synchronous and quasiconcave functions f under assumptions less restrictive than the classical ones. Existence and uniqueness theorems, as well as theorems on the absence of solutions, are proved. Smoothness issues for solutions of both weakly nonlinear and strongly nonlinear equations are considered. An integral inequality is obtained for the weight function of a metric ensuring that a nonlinear operator is a contraction, and a number of other results are obtained.  相似文献

We use a variational approach to study existence and regularity of solutions for a Neumann p-Laplacian problem with a reaction term on metric spaces equipped with a doubling measure and supporting a Poincaré inequality. Trace theorems for functions with bounded variation are applied in the definition of the variational functional and minimizers are shown to satisfy De Giorgi type conditions.

Summary General separation and comparison theorems for n-th order ordinary linear equations are established, which reduce to the Sturm theorems when the operator is self-adjoint and n is an even integer. The study of solution spaces of third order equations and their adjoints, as begun by Dolan (J.D.E.,7 (1970),pp. 367–388), is completed here, with structure theorems for special kinds of solution spaces, and the presentation of two examples: 1) an equation Lu=0 of order three with all solutions of Lu=0 and L*v=0 oscillatory, 2) an equation Lu=0 of order three such that all two-dimensional subspaces of the solution space contain both oscillatory and non-oscillatory solutions. In this paper, several order-theoretic fixed point theorems are proved on partially ordered topological spaces. Applying these fixed point theorems, we explore the existence and upper order-preservation for parametric vector equilibrium problems. In contrast to the previous results on vector equilibrium problems, the upper order-preservation of solutions is a new subject, which would be useful for predicting the changing trend of solutions to vector equilibrium problems. In addition, neither topological continuity nor convexity of the considered vector-valued bifunction F is required in our results.  相似文献

We prove a theorem on the existence of solutions of some nonlinear functional integral equations in the Banach algebra of continuous functions on the interval [0,a]. Then we consider a nonlinear integral equation of fractional order and give some sufficient conditions for existence of solutions of this equation. We use fixed point theorems associated with the measure of noncompactness as the main tool. Our existence results include several results obtained in previous studies. Abstract

In this article, we consider a new class of fractional impulsive neutral stochastic functional integro-differential equations with infinite delay in Hilbert spaces. First, by using stochastic analysis, fractional calculus, analytic α-resolvent operator and suitable fixed point theorems, we prove the existence of mild solutions and optimal mild solutions for these equations. Second, the existence of optimal pairs of system governed by fractional impulsive partial stochastic integro-differential equations is also presented. The results are obtained under weaker conditions in the sense of the fractional power arguments. Finally, an example is given for demonstration.  相似文献

This article deals with a discrete type multi-point BVP of difference equations. The sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of at least three positive solutions are established. An example is presented to illustrate the main results. It is the purpose of this paper to show that the approach to get positive solutions of BVPs by using multifixed-point theorems can be extended to treat nonhomogeneous BVPs. The solutions of the dfferential equation Lnx + a0(t)x = 0, where Ln is a disconjugate operator and a0 is of one sign, are studied according to their behavior as t → ∞. We prove equivalence theorems between solutions of this equation and its adjoint in terms of property A and property B. These theorems generalize the results known for n = 3 and for odd order binomial equations. Some applications are given too.  相似文献

We discuss the propagation of heat along a homogeneous rod of length A under the influence of a nonlinear heat source and impulsive effects at fixed times. This problem is described by an initial-boundary value problem for a nonlinear parabolic partial differential equation subjected to impulsive effects at fixed times. Using Green's function, we convert the problem into a nonlinear integral equation. Sufficient conditions are provided that enable the application of fixed point theorems to prove existence and uniqueness of solutions.  相似文献
