Crosstalks of two-waveguide and three-waveguide directional couplers are analyzed mathematically based on the relationship between the coupled mode and the normal mode. Numerical techniques such as the finite-difference method and the beam propagation method are employed to confirm the validity of the derived expressions. The calculation results show that two-waveguide directional coupler is superior to any type of three-waveguide couplers from the practical viewpoint of the crosstalk and the coupling length. 相似文献

An N-stage three-waveguide system is proposed to improve the robustness and the fidelity of the resonant tunneling passage.The analytic solutions to the tunneling dynamics at the output are derived.When the number of subsystems increases,tunneling efficiency approaches to 100%in a large range and resonant tunneling is robust against variations in the phase mismatch and peak tunneling rate. 相似文献

Nanosecond time-resolved evolution of coherence between two nondegenerate ground levels has been investigated in Rb atomic vapor. Using STIRAP and fractional STIRAP, a time-dependent coherence is prepared and indirectly monitored by the generated coherent Raman scattering signal proportional to the coherence. The experimental data fit very well with numerical simulations. This technique have potential applications in nonlinear process based on atomic coherence. 相似文献

The time-dependent multilevel approach(TDMA) and B-spline expansion technique are used to study the coherent population transfer between the quantum states of a potassium atom by a single frequency-chirped microwave pulse.The Rydberg potassium atom energy levels of n=6-15,l=0-5 states in zero field are calculated and the results are in good agreement with other theoretical values.The time evolutions of the population transfer of the six states from n=70 to n=75 in different microwave fields are obtained.The results show that the coherent control of the population transfer from the lower states to the higher ones can be accomplished by optimizing the microwave pulse parameters. 相似文献

A mismatched optical coupler with waveguide weighted by the Blackman function is numerically investigated in the demand of short length, C+L-band, and low crosstalk. Utilizing the full factorial design, the structure parameters of coupling waveguide are obtained by beam propagation method. In the condition of crosstalk of −35 dB, the mismatched optical coupler with proper selected waveguide structure parameters is found to have a coupling length of 3.60 mm in the transmission wavelength ranges of C+L-band (1.53-1.61 μm). Obviously, the selection and design of waveguide structure are very important to satisfy the qualities of a mismatched optical coupler for the demand of short length, broad bandwidth, and low crosstalk. 相似文献

Coupling plane wave into a single-mode fiber(SMF) with high and steady coupling efficiency is crucial for fiberbased free-space laser systems, where random angular jitters are the main influencing factors of fiber coupling. In this paper, we verified a new adaptive-optic device named adaptive fiber coupler(AFC) which could compensate angular jitters and improve the SMF coupling efficiency in some degree. Experiments of SMF coupling under the angular jitter situation using AFC have been achieved. Stochastic parallel gradient descent(SPGD) algorithm is employed as the control strategy, of which the iteration rate is 625 Hz. In closed loop, the coupling efficiency keeps above 65% when angular errors are below 80 μrad. The compensation bandwidth is 35 Hz at sine-jitter of 15 μrad amplitude with average coupling efficiency of above 60%. Also, experiments with simulated turbulence have been studied. The average coupling efficiency increases from 31.97% in open loop to 61.33% in closed loop, and mean square error(MSE) of coupling efficiency drops from 7.43% to 1.75%. 相似文献

Nanodevices using the photovoltaic effect of a single nanowire
have attracted growing interest. In this paper, we consider
potential applications of the photovoltaic effect to optical signal
coupling and optical power transmission, and report on the
realization of a heterojunction formed between WO2 and WO3 in a fine-wire having a diameter on the micrometer scale. Using a
laser beam of 514.5~nm as a signal source, the WO2--WO3
heterojunction yields a maximum output power of up to 37.4 pico watt
per heterojunction. Fast responses (less than a second) of both
photovoltaic voltage and current are also observed. In addition, we
demonstrate that it is a simple and effective way to adapt a
commercial Raman spectrometer for the combined functions of
fabrication, material characterization and photovoltaic measurement
of an optical signal coupler and optical power transmitter based on a
fine-wire. Our results show an attractive perspective of developing
nanowire or fine-wire elements for coupling optical signals into and
for powering a nanoelectronic or nano-optoelectronic integrated
circuit that works under the condition of preventing it from
directly electrically connecting with the optical coupler. 相似文献

对Ka波段工作模式为TE01模和TE02模的两种回旋速调管的输入耦合器进行了详细研究,利用模式匹配理论和HFSS建模仿真计算了内圆柱腔和外同轴腔的尺寸;提出了一种与软件计算相结合的模式纯度计算方法,对内腔工作模式纯度、内外腔能量分数进行了计算。内腔侧面上的耦合缝的大小、角向位置都直接决定外同轴腔内的TEm11模向内圆柱腔的TE0n1模的耦合情况。针对耦合缝与输入波导成45°和0°分布两种情况,研究了耦合缝长、宽和角向偏移,以及内外腔频差对频率、Q值及内腔能量分数的影响。分别设计了Ka波段内腔工作模式为TE011、外腔为TE411和内腔TE021、外腔TE811的两种输入耦合器,并利用矢量网络分析仪对内腔工作模式为TE011的耦合器进行了冷高频测量,测得频率为34.257 GHz,与计算结果34.300 GHz仅相差43 MHz。 相似文献

针对硅基光波导与单模光纤在光耦合过程中存在耦合效率低,对准难度大的问题,提出了一种新型基于绝缘体上硅(SOI)结构的纳米光栅耦合器。运用有限时域差分法探究了纳米光栅耦合器的结构特性,结合光纤准直器的准直原理,系统分析了纳米光栅耦合器的结构模型。研究了入射光波长、入射角度、光栅占空比等因素对光栅耦合效率的影响,得出了基本纳米光栅耦合器的最佳结构参数;在基本耦合光栅结构的基础上进行了改进,增加了后反射器、增透膜和底层介质膜,并运用Optiwave OptiFDTD 8.0软件优化了各部分结构的设计参数,得到了优化的耦合光栅结构。纳米光栅耦合器的耦合效率提高至59.37%,3 dB带宽达到65 nm。 相似文献

An integrated optical coupler used in a fibre interferometry system for on-line surface measurements
In this paper, an integrated optical (IO) coupler produced using the technique of silica-on-silicon was described. A fibre interferometry system using the IO coupler was then developed and its performance was tested. The environmental noise and disturbances in this system were reduced significantly after combining a reference interferometer and an all fibre polarisation scrambler so as to produce good stability and repeatability. Furthermore, the measurement mirror was mounted on a piezoelectric transducer (PZT) and disturbances were introduced in the system in order to simulate on-line surface measurements. Both a commercial fibre and the IO couplers were compared using this method. Better experimental results were achieved when the system using the IO coupler than using the fibre one. 相似文献

This paper investigates the dynamical instability and adiabatic
evolution of the atom--homonuclear--trimer dark state of a condensate
system in a stimulated Raman adiabatic passage aided by Feshbach
resonance. It obtains analytically the regions for the appearance of
dynamical instability caused by the interparticle interactions.
Moreover, the adiabatic property of the dark state is also studied
in terms of a newly defined adiabatic fidelity. It shows that the
nonlinear collisions have a negative effect on the adiabaticity of
the dark state and hence reduce the conversion efficiency. 相似文献

Stark-chirped rapid adiabatic passage (SCRAP) is an important technique used for coherent quantum controls. In this paper we investigate how the practically-existing dissipation of the system influences on the efficiency of the passage, and thus the fidelities of the SCRAP-based quantum gates. With flux-biased Josephson qubits as a specifical example, our results show clearly that the efficiency of the logic gates implemented by SCRAP are robust against the weak dissipation. The influence due to the non-adiabtic transitions between the adiabatic passages is comparatively significantly small. Therefore, the SCRAP-based logic gates should be feasible for the realistic physical systems with noises. 相似文献
