The molecular and crystal structures of N≡C-C6H4-C6H4-O-(CH2)8-O-CO-CH=CH2 (4(3-acryloyloxy)octyloxy-4′-cyanobiphenyl) (I) and N≡C-C6H4-C6H4-O-(CH2)6-O-CO-CH=CH2 (4(3-acryloyloxy)hexyloxy-4′-cyanobiphenyl) (II) were determined by X-ray diffraction. The structures of I and II are stereotype. The space group of I and II is C2/c, Z = 8; lattice parameters I: a = 34.677(7)?, b = 9.452(2)?, c = 13.004(3) ?, β = 99.30(3)°; II: a = 30.858(6) ?, b = 9.504(2) ?, c = 13.082(2) ?, β = 92.78(3)°. The planar extended molecules I and II are packed in the unit cell to give clearly differentiated aliphatic and aromatic regions throughout the whole crystal. All intermolecular contacts are concentrated in the aromatic region. The molecular packing is very loose but the aromatic areas of I and II fully coincide. The only free parameter of the structure is the length of the aliphatic chain (CH2)n (n = 8 and 6). According to DSC data, compound I possesses enantiotropic mesomorphism and II possesses monotropic mesomorphism.  相似文献

Cyclobutane‐1,2,3,4‐tetraone, (CO)4, was computationally predicted and, subsequently, experimentally confirmed to have a triplet ground state, in which a b2g σ MO and an a2u π MO were each singly occupied. In contrast, the (U)CCSD(T) calculations reported herein found that cyclobutane‐1,2,3,4‐tetrathione, (CS)4, and cyclobutane‐1,2,3,4‐tetraselenone, (CSe)4, both had singlet ground states, in which the b2g σ MO was doubly occupied and the a2u π MO was empty. Our calculations showed that both the longer C?X distances and smaller coefficients on the carbon atoms in the b2g and a2u MOs of (CS)4 and (CSe)4 contributed to the difference between the ground states of these two molecules and the ground state of (CO)4. An experimental test of the prediction of a singlet ground state for (CS)4 is proposed.  相似文献

Abstract

The molecular and crystal structure of N-(4-n-butyloxybenzylidene)-4′-ethylaniline (4O.2) and the homologue N-(4-n-heptyloxybenzylidene)-4′-hexylaniline (7O.6) have been solved (at room temperature) by direct methods. The crystals of both compounds belong to the triclinic system with space group P1 with two molecules per unit cell. 4O.2: a = 5·531(2), b = 7·592(3), c = 19·746(7) Å, α = 86·66(2), β = 88·15(2), γ = 90·29(2)° 7O.6: a = 5·420(2), b = 8·307(3), c = 28·057(7) Å, α = 91·69(2), β = 89·76(2), γ = 108·02(2)°. The structures were refined by full-matrix least-squares calculations to R = 0·036 for 2297 observed reflections for 4O.2 and to R = 0·037 for 2150 reflections for 7O.6. The conformations in the asymmetric units of the two compounds differ considerably: The planes of the two phenyl rings of 4O.2, forming the mesogenic core of the molecule, are twisted at 61·2° to each other and the butoxy group contains a gauche conformation. In contrast the heptoxy chain of 7O.6 forms an all trans-conformation which lies almost in one plane with the two coplanar phenyl rings. The hexyl group also exists in an extended form, in a plane which is rotated against the plane of the mesogenic unit. The packing in the crystalline state of the two homologues exhibits a layered structure along c*; in 4O.2 these layers are separated, but in 7O.6 they are interdigitated. The compensation of the dipole moments of the C?O?C and C?N?C bonds occurs similarly in both structures: molecular orientations parallel to the a, c-plane in which the long axes of the molecules points in the same direction are packed in antiparallel fashion along b*.  相似文献

This article describes the preparation and liquid crystalline properties of a new homologous series of 4-(4-bromopropyloxy)-4’- (4-alkyloxybenzylidene)anilines in which the phenyl ring is armed by a bromopropyloxy chain.The thermal behavior and mesomorphic properties of the synthesized compounds were studied with particular attention given to the correlation between their phase transition temperatures and anisotropic change influenced by molecular structure.All the members displayed enantiotropic smectic phase except for the homologue with the longest alkyloxy chain(R = C18H37),exhibiting only monotropic characteristic. The presence of bromine atom from the propyloxy side chain is found to be capable of altering and influencing the mesomorphic properties.  相似文献

The compound Ba4Fe2I5S4 has been prepared at 1223-1123 K by the "U-assisted" reaction of FeS, BaS, S, and U with BaI2 as a flux. A more rational synthesis was also found; however, the presence of U appears to be essential for the formation of single crystals suitable for X-ray diffraction studies. Ba4Fe2I5S4 crystallizes in a new structure type with two formula units in space group I4/m of the tetragonal system. The structure consists of a Ba-I network penetrated by (1)infinity[Fe2S4] chains. Each Fe atom, which is located on a site with 4 symmetry, is tetrahedrally coordinated to four S atoms. The FeS4 tetrahedra edge-share to form linear (1)infinity[Fe2S4] chains in the [001] direction. The Fe-Fe interatomic distance in these chains is 2.5630(4) A, only about 3% longer than the shortest Fe-Fe distance in -Fe metal. Charge balance dictates that the average formal oxidation state of Fe in these chains is +2.5. The M?ssbauer spectra obtained at 85 and 270 K comprise a single quadrupole doublet that has hyperfine parameters consistent with an average Fe oxidation state of +2.5. The M?ssbauer spectrum obtained at 4.2 K consists of a single magnetic sextet with a small hyperfine field of -15.5 T. This spectrum is also consistent with rapid electron delocalization and an average Fe oxidation state of +2.5. The molar magnetic susceptibility of Ba4Fe2I5S4, obtained between 3.4 and 300 K, qualitatively indicates the presence of weak pseudo-one-dimensional ferromagnetic exchange within a linear chain above 100 K and weak three-dimensional ordering between the chains at lower temperatures.  相似文献

Cobalt(II) complexes of the Schiff bases 1,2-(diimino-4-antipyrinyl)ethane (GA) and 4-N-(4-antipyrylmethylidene)aminoantipyrine (AA) have been prepared and characterised by elemental analysis, electrical conductance in non-aqueous solvents, i.r. and electronic spectra, as well as by magnetic susceptibility measurements. The complexes have the general formulae [Co(GA)X]X (X = ClO 4 or NO3 ), [Co(GA)X2] (X = Cl, Br or I), [Co(AA)2]X2 (X = ClO4 , NO3 , Br or I) and [Co(AA)Cl2]. GA acts as a neutral tetradentate ligand, coordinating through both carbonyl oxygens and both azomethine nitrogens. In the perchlorate and nitrate complexes of GA one anion is coordinated in a bidentate fashion, whereas in the halide complexes both anions are coordinated to the metal, generating an octahedral geometry around the Co ion. AA acts as a neutral bidentate ligand, coordinating through the carbonyl oxygen derived from the aldehydic moiety and the azomethine nitrogen. Both anions remain ionic in the perchlorate, nitrate, bromide and iodide complexes of AA, whereas both anions are coordinated to the metal ion in the chloride complex, resulting tetrahedral geometry around the Co ion.  相似文献

Trans complexes of Cu(II) and Ni(II) with 4-hydroxymethyl-5-methylimidazole (L), of the general formula [ML4](NO3)2 have been obtained. The complexes were characterized by single X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, EPR spectroscopy, IR, FIR and Vis–NIR spectra. In these co-ordination compounds, the azole ligand has a dual nature. Two of these molecules are monodentate, co-ordinated through the ‘3’ ‘pyridynic’ nitrogen atom of the imidazole ring, while the remaining two are bidentate ligands, the oxygen atom of the CH2OH group being another electron donor (giving CuN4O2 and NiN4O2 chromophores). The structure of both chromophores is described by a slightly distorted tetragonal bipyramid. The stability constants and structures of the Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes with the studied ligand (4-CH2OH5-CH3im) in aqueous solution have been determined by potentiometric and spectrophotometric methods. The stability of the transition metal complexes of 4-CH2OH5-CH3im depends on the presence of the hydroxymethyl group, the oxygen atom of which interacts with the metal-ion.  相似文献

Preparation methods were developed for homologs of 4-(cyanomethoxy)phenyl 4-alkoxybenzoates (C7, C8, C9), 4-(cyanomethoxy)-4′-alkoxyazo (C2, C3, C6), -azoxybenzenes (C3, C6) whose composition and structure were proved by elemental analysis and 1H NMR spectra. 4-(Cyanomethoxy) group destabilizes the mesophase, consequently, only four among the compounds obtained exhibit the thermotropic nematic mesomorphism.  相似文献

The interaction of the individual M4(acac)43-OMe)4(MeOH)4 complexes, M=Co, Ni in toluene/methanol media provided crystals of (Co,Ni)4(acac)43-OMe)4(MeOH)4 (I) — the product of co-crystallization of isomorphous products. The oxidation of a MeOH solution of I in air in the presence of NaOAc and aminoalcohols as catalysts gave Co2Ni2(acac)43-OMe)4(OAc)2 (II), an individual heterometallic derivative. The interaction of Mg(OCH(CH3)CH2NMe2)2 with Cu(acac)2 in toluene/methanol media produced Mg4(acac)43-OMe)4(MeOH)4 (III) as the only isolatable product. The starting Co and Ni homometallic complexes as well as the heterometallic CoNi complex II were used to prepare the zeolite-supported oxide catalysts which exhibited extremely high activity towards methanol oxidation.  相似文献

The inelastic neutron scattering (INS) spectra were measured for two materials of chiral molecules: (S)-4-(1-methylheptyloxy)-4?-cyanobiphenyl (8*OCB) and (S)-4-(2-methylbutyl)-4?-cyanobiphenyl (5*CB), revealing solid state polymorphism with two partially disordered crystalline phases I and II and glassy state of liquid and of crystalline phase in each substance. The experiments were performed in the energy range up to 30 µeV in the temperature range from 4 to 35 K. For 8*OCB the elastic scans were measured as well up to 300 K illustrating well the phase diagram. For all solid phases of both substances in the µeV range of INS spectra, the existence of the excess density of vibrational states over that typical for fully ordered crystalline phases was evidenced. Contribution of this so-called boson peak occurred to be much larger in glass of isotropic phase than in the phase II and glass of phase I of 8*OCB, while for 5*CB it was larger in the phase I and glass of phase II than in glass of cholesteric phase. The quasi-elastic broadening of elastic peak corresponding to stochastic reorientations in the ns time scale was detected for both substances. Comparison of the results obtained for glassy and crystalline phases of 8*OCB and 5*CB compounds have been given and confronted with those obtained previously in meV energy range.  相似文献

-Peroxo-bis(4-bromophenoxotri-p-tolylantimony) was synthesized by reacting 4-bromophenol with tri-p-tolylstibine in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. According to X-ray diffraction data, the Sb atoms have trigonal bipyramidal coordination. In the centrosymmetric molecule, the two Sb atoms are joined via bridging peroxo group disordered over two sites. The Sb–O(1,2') bond lengths are equal to 1.999(6) and 2.03(1) Å, the Sb···O(2,1') distances are equal to 2.605(9) and 2.626(5) Å, respectively. The lengths of the terminal Sb–O(3) bonds are 2.093(3) Å.  相似文献

Redox and spectroscopic properties of the eight-coordination complexes of molybdenum and the rare-earth elements Eu or Er with N,N-diethyldithiocarbamate (dtc) were characterised by cyclic voltamrnetry and UV-visible absorption spectra.The complex cation [Mo(dtc)4]+ is more stable than the complex anions [Eu(dtc)4]-and [Er(dtc)4]-in redox processes,and possesses good redox reversibility.The electron transfer number,formal standard electrode potential in the redox process for the complex cation and its diffusion coefficients were obtained by in aitu spectroelectro-chemistry.  相似文献

The reaction of Cb*Co(CO)2I (1) (Cb* is tetramethylcyclobutadiene) with sodium phenyltelluride afforded the mononuclesar complex Cb*Co(CO)2TePh (2). The reaction of the latter with W(CO)5(THF) produced the Cb*Co(CO)2TePh[W(CO)5] compound (4). The reaction of 1 with the Cp2Cr2(SCMe3)2S complex gave the heterometallic cluster Cb*Co(μ3-S)2Cr2Cp2 (μ-SCMe3) (5). Complexes 2, 4, and 5 are diamagnetic. Their structures were determined by X-ray diffraction. Complex 2 contains the Co-Te bond (2.585(1) Å); complex 4, the Co-Te (2.558(8) Å) and W-Te (2.8467(6) Å) bonds. Complex 5 has the stable triangular sulfide-and tert-butylmercaptide-bridged core Cr2Co (Cr-Cr and Cr-Co bond lengths are 2.626(2) and 2.673(2) Å, respectively) with Cp ligands at the chromium atoms and a Cb* ligand at the cobalt atom. Complex 5 was characterized by cyclic voltammetry. The thermolysis of complex 4 was studied.  相似文献

A facile approach for the first total synthesis of two naturally occurring geranylated flavonoids, (±)‐puyanin ( 1 ) and (±)‐4′‐O‐methylbonannione ( 2 ) has been obtained with total yields of 27% and 17.8%, respectively. Y(OH)(SO4), Y(SO4)F, YNi(OH)3(SO4)-II and Y2Cu(OH)3(SO4)2F·H2O are obtained from hydrothermal reactions at 380°C under a pressure of 210 MPa. Their crystal structures were refined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. The four compounds have the following space groups and unit cells: Y(OH)(SO4), P21/n, a=7.9498(6), b=10.9530(9), c=8.1447(6) Å, β=93.764(1)°; Y(SO4)F, Pnma, a=8.3128(9), b=6.9255(7), c=6.3905(7) Å; YNi(OH)3(SO4)-II, Pnma, a=6.9695(8), b=7.2615(8), c=10.292(1) Å; Y2Cu(OH)3(SO4)2F·H2O, P21/n, a=11.6889(7), b=6.8660(4), c=12.5280(8) Å, β=97.092(1)°. The coordination environments of the yttrium atoms in the four structures vary from highly irregular 6+2, 6+3, 7+1 coordination polyhedra to relatively regular dodecahedra.  相似文献
