Diarylethene derivatives are a class of fascinating photochromic materials because of their open and closed isomers with different absorption spectra and many other characteristics.To reveal the detailed structure and optoelectronic properties as well as the effect of metal centres and substituents on them,a systematic study on a series of diarylethene derivatives and their Re(I),Pt(II),and Ir(III) complexes was performed via theoretical calculation.The optimized geometries,electronic properties,frontier molecular orbitals,ionization potentials,electron affinities,reorganization energies,and absorption spectra for both of their open-and closed-isomers have been calculated and analyzed.Metal-coordination and substituents exhibit great influence on the photophysical,charge-injection and-transporting characteristics.In addition,the binding of F-with the boron atom of dimesitylboryl group through Lewis acid/base interactions also induces great changes of structural,photophysical and electronic properties for these diarylethene derivatives,and consequently the compound with the substituent of dimesitylboryl group can be used as selective near-infrared phosphorescent F-probe.  相似文献

Nitrogen and sulfur-substituted dioxetanes exhibit dramatically lower activation energies for decomposition compared to the corresponding oxygen-bearing dioxetane. A mechanism involving intramolecular electron-transfer processes is proposed for the cleavage of these unstable dioxetanes.  相似文献

The absorption and emission energies for diphenylboron analogs of Alq3 (Ph2Bq) and its methyl substituents (Ph2Bmq) were systematically investigated at the Zerner's intermediate neglect of differential overlap (ZINDO), configuration interaction singles (CIS), and time‐dependent density functional theory (TD‐DFT) levels of theory. The lowest excited‐state geometries were optimized at the ab initio CIS level. The TD‐DFT method provides the most reliable results for the absorption and emission transition energies, compared with other methods. Moreover, the TD‐DFT calculations reliably estimate the changes of absorption and emission λmax values upon methyl substitution, with errors of 1.2% and 1.8%, respectively. The Stokes shifts are well reproduced by TD‐DFT calculations. Various density functional theory methods have been tested and the B3LYP functional clearly seems to be the best choice for this class of compounds. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Carbocyclic carbenes (CCCs) are a class of nucleophilic carbenes which are very similar to N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) in terms of their reactivity, but they do not contain a stabilizing heteroatom in their cyclic ring system. In this study, 17 representative known CCCs and 34 newly designed CCCs are evaluated using quantum chemical methods, and the results are compared in terms of their stability, nucleophilicity, and proton affinity (PA) parameters. The results are divided on the basis of ring size of the known and reported CCCs. The stability, nucleophilicity, PA, complexation energy, and bond strength–related parameters were estimated using M06/6-311++G(d,p) method. The results indicated that the CCCs known in the literature are strong σ-electron donating species and have considerable π-accepting properties. This study led to the design and identification of a few new CCCs with dimethylamine and diaminomethynyl substituents which can be singlet stable and are substantially nucleophilic. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Two series of new soluble conjugated compounds containing tetrazine central ring have been synthesized. The three-ring compounds have been synthesized by the reaction of aryl cyanide (where aryl = thienyl, alkylthienyl, phenyl or pyridyl) with hydrazine followed by oxidation of the intermediate product with diethyl azodicarboxylate. The five-ring compounds have been prepared using two pathways: (i) reaction of 5-cyano-2,2'-bithiophene (or its alkyl derivative) with hydrazine; (ii) via Suzuki or Stille coupling of 3,6-bis(5-bromo-2-thienyl)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine with a stannyl or boronate derivative of alkylthiophene. UV-vis spectroscopic properties of the synthesized compounds are strongly dependent on the nature of the aryl group, the position of the solubilizing substituent and the length of the molecule, showing the highest bathochromic shift (λ(max) > 440 nm) for five-ring compounds with alkyl groups attached to C(α) carbon in the terminal thienyl ring. An excellent linear correlation has been found for spectroscopically determined and theoretically calculated (TD-B3LYP/6-31G*) excitation energies. With the exception of dipyridyl derivative, the calculated lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) level of the investigated molecules changes within a narrow range (from -2.63 to -2.41 eV), in line with the electrochemical data, which show a reversible reduction process with the redox potential varying from -1.23 V to -1.33 V (vs. Fc/Fc(+)). The electrochemically determined positions of the LUMO levels are consistently lower by 0.9 to 1.2 eV with respect to the calculated ones. All molecules readily crystallize. Single crystal studies of 3,6-bis(2,2'-bithien-5-yl)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine show that it crystallizes in a P2(1)/c space group whose structural arrangement is not very favorable to the charge carriers flow within the crystal. Powder diffraction studies of other derivatives have shown that their structural organization is sensitive to the position of the solubilizing substituent. In particular, the presence of alkyl groups attached to C(α) carbon in the terminal thienyl ring promotes the formation of a lamellar-type supramolecular organization.  相似文献

The structures and properties of seven substituted dithiophosphate (DTP) collectors containing three types of functional groups (O2PS2, C2PS2, and N2PS2) were studied using density functional theory. The collectors studied were dibutyl dithiophosphate (DNBDTP), diisobutyl dithiophosphate (DIBDTP), dibutoxyethyl dithiophosphate (DBOEDTP), xylenol dithiophosphate (DMPDTP), diisobutyl dithiohypophosphite (3418A), diphenylamine dithiophosphate (DTADTP), and dicyclohexylamine dithiophosphate (DCADTP). The structural analysis showed that the P S bond lengths in the C2PS2 and N2PS2 types are longer than those in the O2PS2 type, indicating that the strength of the P S bond is weaker in the former two. The frontier molecular orbital studies showed that the energy differences between the highest occupied molecular orbitals (HOMO) of 3418A (C2PS2 type) and DCADTP (N2PS2 type) and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) of galena are significantly lower than those of the other collectors, suggesting that C2PS2 type and N2PS2 type with cyclohexane could enhance the interaction with galena. Using the Fukui function to calculate the nucleophilicity and electrophilicity of the sulfur atom indicated that the S atom exhibits nucleophilicity, especially in DMPDTP and DTADTP, which contain benzene rings, and the S atom exhibits strong nucleophilicity without electrophilicity. However, due to the lack of contribution from S atoms to the LUMO orbitals, the S atoms in these two compounds are not participate in any LUMO reactions. The adsorption results demonstrated that 3418A (C2PS2 type) and DCADTP (N2PS2 type) exhibit the strongest adsorption on Pb2+ ions, while DMPDTP (C2PS2 type) and DTADTP (O2PS2 type) which contain benzene rings, as well as DBOEDTP (C2PS2 type) which does not contain a benzene ring, exhibit weaker interaction compared to the other compounds. The optical absorption spectra and redox properties are presented for 24 synthetic zinc chlorins and 18 free base analogs bearing a variety of 3,13 (beta) and 5,10,15 (meso) substituents. Results are also given for a zinc and free base oxophorbine, which contain the keto-bearing isocyclic ring present in the natural photosynthetic pigments such as chlorophyll a. Density functional theory calculations were carried out to probe the effects of the types and positions of substituents on the characteristics (energies, electron distributions) of the frontier molecular orbitals. A general finding is that the 3,13 positions are more sensitive to the effects of auxochromes than the 5,10,15 positions. The auxochromes investigated (acetyl>ethynyl>vinyl>aryl) cause a significant redshift and intensification of the Qy band upon placement at the 3,13 positions, whereas groups at the 5,10,15 positions result in much smaller redshifts that are accompanied by a decrease in relative Qy intensity. In addition, the substituent-induced shifts in first oxidation and reduction potentials faithfully track the energies of the highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals (HOMO and LUMO), respectively. The calculations show that the LUMO is shifted more by substituents than the HOMO, which derives from the differences in the electron densities of the two orbitals at the substituent sites. The trends in the substituent-induced effects on the wavelengths and relative intensities of the major features (By, Bx, Qx, Qy) in the near-UV to near-IR absorption bands are well accounted for using Gouterman's four-orbital model, which incorporates the effects of the substituents on the HOMO-1 and LUMO+1 in addition to the HOMO and LUMO. Collectively, the results and analysis presented herein and in the companion paper provide insights into the effects of substituents on the optical absorption, redox and other photophysical properties of the chlorins. These insights form a framework that underpins the rational design of chlorins for applications encompassing photomedicine and solar-energy conversion.  相似文献

The pi-donating effects of pi-accepting X-substituents in substituted benzylic cations, X-C(6)H(5)-CHR(+) where R = CF(3), H and OCH(3), and X = p-NH(2), p-OCH(3), p-CH(3), H, p-F, p-Cl, p-CHO, m-CN, p-CN, m-NO(2) or p-NO(2), have been studied theoretically by using isodesmic hydride transfer reactions at various levels of theory. It might be difficult to determine the pi-donating effects of pi-acceptors using the simple Hammett-type linear equation, because it is not sensitive enough to include small pi-donating effects. Therefore, this effect was estimated using the NBO deletion energy (DeltaE(D)) of the second-order charge-transfer interaction (DeltaE(ct)) between the pi-orbitals (or lone pair orbitals) of the X-substituent and the pi-orbitals of phenyl ring. The extents of pi-donating effects increased in the order X = p-NO(2) < p-CHO < p-CN < p-Cl for both neutral and cationic species, and these effects were found to be more important for para- than for meta-substituents. Moreover, this could represent a general trend for pi-donation by pi-acceptors. On the other hand, the effects of R-substituents on this pi-donating effect were found to be in the order R = OCH(3) < H congruent with CF(3), as predicted by natural resonance theory (NRT) analyses.  相似文献

Four-membered heterophosphetes such as oxaphosphetes, thiaphosphetes, and azaphosphetes have long been considered desirable target molecules for organic chemists because of their interesting structural features. In spite of extensive investigation, only one azaphosphete and one thiaphosphete have been synthesized to date. In this paper, two possible conformers of these four-membered rings, as well as their open-ring phosphorane forms with a set of exocyclic substituents and a few ring heteroatoms were studied by molecular computations. The results suggested that the relative stability of these compounds is strongly dependent on the electronic effect of the exocyclic P-substituents. Three different types of exocyclic substituents X were recognized. However, only the strong electron-withdrawing substituents (X=F, CN, OCN, SCN) were able to stabilize the ring forms, providing the possibility to design stable heterophosphetes on the basis of the present computational results.  相似文献

Ground state properties and the UVVis absorption spectra of three recently synthesized pyridylindolizine derivatives have been studied by using density functional theory (DFT) and its time-dependent counterpart TDDFT. Performances of the two widely used hybrid functionals, B3LYP and PBE0, and of four different basis sets have been compared. The two functionals yield absorption spectra which have very similar shapes and characteristics but the excitations calculated with PBE0 are obtained at slightly shorter wavelengths. Basis sets affect the appearances of the calculated absorption spectra only little. Independent of the solvent polarity, simulation of the solvent effects by COSMO induces only slight changes into the ground state properties compared to those calculated in the gas-phase and into the absorption spectra.  相似文献

Quantum mechanical calculations are performed on a series of silicon radical defects. These are the upward arrow Si[triple bond]O(3-x)Nx, upward arrow Si[triple bond]N(3-x)Si(x), and upward arrow Si[triple bond]Si(3-x)Ox defects, where x takes on values between 0 and 3. The defects under study constitute a central silicon radical, upward arrow Si, with differing first-nearest-neighbor substitution, as may be found at a Si/SiOxNy interface. These first-nearest neighbor atoms are connected to the silicon radical via three single covalent bonds, denoted as " [triple bond] ". A hybrid defect, upward arrow Si[triple bond]ONSi, is also included. Calculations are performed on gas-phase-like cluster models, as well as more-constrained hybrid quantum and molecular mechanical (QM/MM) models. The isotropic hyperfine coupling constants of these defects are calculated via density functional theory (DFT). Trends in these calculated hyperfines are consistent between the different models utilized. Analysis of the electronic structure and geometries of defects correlate well with trends in the electronegativity of the first-nearest-neighbor atoms. Changes in radical hybridization, induced by changes in the first-nearest-neighbor composition, are the primary factor that affects the calculated hyperfines. Furthermore, comparisons to experimental results are encouraging. Agreement is found between experiments on amorphous to crystalline materials.  相似文献

This work reports the theoretical study of the aromaticity of a series of carbocycles (benzene, cyclohexane, bent and planar cyclooctatetraene) and heterocycles (pyridine, furan, thiophene, pyrrole) and their didehydro forms (arynes and hetarynes). As aromaticity probe Schleyer's NICS were used and represented in two 3D isosurfaces of the electron density. The spatial 3D representation of the NICS is shown to be a powerful tool to visualize the aromaticity (or its absence) of different molecules.  相似文献

The proton-acceptor capacities of heterocyclic nitrogen compounds (pyridine, pyrazine, pyrimidine, and some of their derivatives) were subjected to a theoretical study by means of the molecular electrostatic-potential method. The wave functions of the examined compounds were obtained by the INDO method. Semiempirical CNDO, AM1, PM3 and ab initio HF/STO-3G, HF/3-21G(d), and HF/6-31(d) methods were employed in the geometry optimization of the phenothiazine and the corresponding radical cation. The results obtained from the PM3 performances were as good as those from the ab initio calculations in the structure optimization of both phenothiazine and phenothiazine radical cation. The PM3 method was used to optimize the structures of a series of N-substituted phenothiazine derivatives and their radical cations. The PM3-optimized results were then analyzed with the ab initio calculation at the 6-311G(d,p) level, which yielded the total energy, frontier molecular orbitals, dipole moments, and charge and spin density distributions of the phenothiazine derivatives and their radical cations.  相似文献

The electronic structure of the ciguatoxin 3C is analyzed through the Kohn-Sham model by using two different kinds of basis sets: localized basis set (Gaussian functions) and nonlocalized basis set (plane wave functions). With the localized basis functions, two approximations are used for the exchange-correlation functional: the local density approximation and the generalized gradient approximation. With the nonlocalized basis set, just the local density approximation is used. The energy gap, obtained from the frontier molecular orbitals, for this molecule predicts that this system is a semiconductor, even when the number of double bonds is increased inside the structure. However, as large molecules built with the basic unit--the tetrahydropyrane--of the ciguatoxin 3C are found in nature, it suggests studying the gap in polymeric systems built with the basic unit of this molecule. It is demonstrated that the presence of double bonds reduces considerably the gap, indicating the possibility of forming conducting materials by introducing double bonds in this kind of molecular systems. Thus, molecules strongly linked with biological systems can be used as precursor to build electric conducting systems.  相似文献

The crystal structure of the binary gallide compound GaMn is reinvestigated using X-ray diffraction. The structure is quite different from that proposed previously. Although GaMn is reported to crystallize with the Al8Cr5 structure type, space group R3m, we found that the centrosymmetric space group , with a=12.605(2) Å and c=8.0424(11) Å, was more accurate. Moreover, the atomic positions and the atomic displacement parameters, which are missing in the previous study, are now refined. Thereafter, band structure calculations have been performed using the TB-LMTO-ASA method to understand the electronic and magnetic properties of this compound. Analyses from the band structure, the density of states and the magnetic moments obtained using spin-polarized calculations show the stability of two different magnetic models relative to the nonmagnetic one.  相似文献
