We obtain the radial symmetry of the solution to a partially overdetermined boundary value problem in a convex cone in space forms by using the maximum principle for a suitable subharmonic function P and integral identities. In dimension 2, we prove Serrin-type results for partially overdetermined problems outside a convex cone. Furthermore, we obtain a Rellich identity for an eigenvalue problem with mixed boundary conditions in a cone.  相似文献

Sharp bounds in terms of the first few binomial moments are found for the probability of a union of events, when the random variable denoting the number of events that occur follows symmetric distribution. Connection between the bounds of this paper and the bounds from a special case of the binomial moment problem of Prekopa (1995) is shown. As a special case, bounds for the probability when the underlying probability distribution is unimodal-symmetric are also found.  相似文献

In this article, some mixed boundary value problems (BVPs) on the unit circumference for some pairs of a metaanalytic function and an analytic function are discussed. Using the relationship between metaanalytic function and polyanalytic function, the expression of solution and the condition of solvability for the problem are obtained by reducing the problem to an equivalent system of a Haseman BVP for analytic function and a Hilbert BVP for analytic function. We investigate the existence of solutions of a nonlinear elliptic boundary value problem at resonance. Under the condition that the associated linear boundary value problem has no sign-changing solution or nontrivial solution and some other additional conditions, we prove the existence of solutions or nontrivial (even multiple) solutions to the nonlinear problem. Thus the existence of solutions can be obtained when the nonlinearity may cross any finite number of eigenvalues of the linear problem.  相似文献

In this article, the Dirichlet problem of polyharmonic functions is considered. As well the explicit expression of the unique solution to the simple Dirichlet problem for polyharmonic functions is obtained by using the decomposition of polyharmonic functions and turning the problem into an equivalent Riemann boundary value problem for polyanalytic functions, as the approach to find the kernel functions of the solution for the general Dirichlet problem is given. The odd-order differential equation (−1)nx(2n+1)=f(t,x,…,x(2n)) together with the Lidstone boundary conditions x(2j)(0)=x(2j)(T)=0, 0?j?n−1, and the next condition x(2n)(0)=0 is discussed. Here f satisfying the local Carathéodory conditions can have singularities at the value zero of all its phase variables. A second‐order finite difference scheme for mixed boundary value problems is presented. This scheme does not require the tangential derivative of the Neumann datum. It is designed for applications in which the Neumann condition is available only in discretized form.
