The Bogolyubov-Mitropolsky method is used to find approximate periodic solutions to the system of nonlinear equations that describes the large-amplitude vibrations of cylindrical shells interacting with a fluid flow. Three quantitatively different cases are studied: (i) the shell is subject to hydrodynamic pressure and external periodical loading, (ii) the shell executes parametric vibrations due to the pulsation of the fluid velocity, and (iii) the shell experiences both forced and parametric vibrations. The equations of nonaxisymmetric vibrations of discretely reinforced multilayer cylindrical shells are analyzed. A refined Timoshenko model of shells and beams is used to analyze elements of an elastic structure. The vibration equations for an inhomogeneous elastic system are derived using the Reissner variational principle. A technique is proposed to determine the natural frequencies of rib-reinforced cylindrical shells with low shear stiffness. The equations of motion based on the Timoshenko model are used. The influence of the transverse shear moduli of the shell and ribs on the minimum natural frequencies and corresponding modes is studied by way of numerical examples. An analytical study of nonlinear flexural vibrations of cylindrical shells to random excitation is presented. Donnell's thin-shell theory is used to develop the governing equations of motion. Thermal effects for a uniform temperature rise through the shell thickness are included in the formulation. A Monte Carlo simulation technique of stationary random processes, multi-mode Galerkin-like approach and numerical integration procedures are used to develop nonlinear response solutions of simply-supported cylindrical shells. Numerical results include time domain response histories, root-mean-square values and histograms of probability density. Comparison of Monte Carlo results is made to those obtained by statistical linearization and the Fokker–Planck equation. 相似文献
