The properties of the entanglement entropy (EE) in one-dimensional disordered interacting systems are studied. Anderson localization leaves a clear signature on the average EE, as it saturates on the length scale exceeding the localization length. This is verified by numerically calculating the EE for an ensemble of disordered realizations using the density matrix renormalization group method. A heuristic expression describing the dependence of the EE on the localization length, which takes into account finite-size effects, is proposed. This is used to extract the localization length as a function of the interaction strength. The localization length dependence on the interaction fits nicely with the expectations.  相似文献

A one-dimensional diagonal tight binding electronic system is analyzed with the Hamiltonian map approach to study analytically the inverse localization length of an infinite sample. Both the uncorrelated and the dichotomic correlated random potential sequences are considered in the evaluations of the inverse localization length. Analytical expressions for the invariant measure or the angle density distribution are the main motivation of this work in order to derive analytical results. The well-known uncorrelated weak disorder result of the inverse localization length is derived with a clear procedure. In addition, an analytical expression for high disorder is obtained near the band edge. It is found that the inverse localization length goes to 1 in this limit. Following the procedure used in the uncorrelated situation, an analytical expression for the inverse localization length is also obtained for the dichotomic correlated sequence in the small disorder situation.  相似文献

采用本征模展开法(EME)结合完全匹配层(PML)边界条件,研究了由TiO2和SiO2复合膜结构组成的平面光子晶体Bragg微腔的模式特性,分析了介质厚度无序对微腔模式的调制以及入射角对局域长度的影响.结果表明,若光束正入射,带边局域长度要大于禁带局域长度,随着无序度的增加光子通带的透过率逐渐降低,而禁带的透过率逐渐上升.当无序度较小时,局域长度随随机度的变化在带边和禁带内表现出相反的规律.当无序度较大时,局域长度不仅和随机度、带隙有关,还受到材料的影响;若光束斜入射,TE模的局域长度要远小于TM模对应的值,且其最小值向短波方向移动。此外,入射角和膜层数的变化都会导致局域长度的起伏.  相似文献

We numerically investigate localization properties of electronic states in a static model of poly(dG)-poly(dC) and poly(dA)-poly(dT) DNA polymers with realistic parameters obtained by quantum-chemical calculation. The randomness in the on-site energies caused by the electron-phonon coupling is completely correlated to the off-diagonal parts. In the single electron model, the effect of the hydrogen-bond stretchings, the twist angles between the base pairs and the finite system size effects on the energy dependence of the localization length and on the Lyapunov exponent are given. The localization length is reduced by the influence of the fluctuations in the hydrogen bond stretchings. It is also shown that the helical twist angle affects the localization length in the poly(dG)-poly(dC) DNA polymer more strongly than in the poly(dA)-poly(dT) one. Furthermore, we show resonance structures in the energy dependence of the localization length when the system size is relatively small.  相似文献

将一维随机二元固体模型应用于DNA分子链,利用传输矩阵方法来研究系统电子态的局域性质并进而讨论系统的导电性质.对一个链长为50000个碱基对的DNA序列,数值分析了局域长度和电导随碱基对的摩尔百分数、本征能量和无序度的变化关系.结果表明,系统的局域长度和电导强烈地依赖于能量,在能带中心部分局域长度大于边沿部分.无序度也在一定程度上影响着局域长度,双方成反向变化的关系.对有限长度的DNA分子链,局域长度体现出明显的对碱基对摩尔百分数的依赖关系,对正常成分比例的随机DNA序列,在所有能量范围内系统的态都是局域的,系统的电导很小,系统呈现绝缘体行为.仅当一种碱基对在序列中所占比例很小时,系统中可以发现与特定分立能量值相对应的“扩展态”存在,处在这些态下的系统有较大的电导,但这些扩展态是不稳定的,在热力学极限之下会消失. 关键词: DNA分子链 电子局域 局域长度 电导  相似文献

A relation between localization of phonon modes in a disordered elastic chain and absence of quantum heat conductivity is shown. The frequency dependence of the localization length of normal modes is found at various degrees of disorder. We have studied nonlinear effects in the resistance of a two-dimensional system with a large localization length on both sides of the crossover from weak to strong localization. It is shown that nonlinearity in the hopping regime is due to electron overheating rather than the field effects. This qualitatively new behavior is a signature of a two-dimensional hopping transport with a large localization length.  相似文献

In this work we investigate the electronic transport along model disordered DNA molecules using an effective tight-binding approach, addressing the localization properties. Different tools to investigate the degree of localization are examined as a function of system length, energy dependence and DNA to electrode coupling: localization length, participation number and sensitivity to boundary conditions. Combining the results obtained from these different tools, a thermodynamic limit for the model DNA molecule, within the mesoscopic length scale, can be established. Furthermore, three aspects are investigated: (i) the influence of strongly localized resonances on the localization length is discussed as an important mechanism defining the degree of localization for sizes below the thermodynamic limit; (ii) the dependence on the Hamiltonian parameters on a possible diffusive regime for short systems; and, finally, (iii) possible length dependent origins for the large discrepancies among experimental results for the electronic transport in DNA samples.  相似文献

Numerical investigations on non-analytic quantum kicked systems are presented. A new type of localization - power-law localization is found to be universal in the nonanalytic systems. With increasing the perturbation strength, a transition from perturbative localization to pseudo-integrable system, to dynamical localization and to complete extension is clearly demonstrated. The dependence of the localization length on perturbation is given in different parameter regimes.  相似文献

In this paper, we calculate the localization length of a TM electromagnetic wave in unitof system length versus incident angle in a disordered layered structure where therefractive index of one of its constituents follows a Lévy-type distribution with a powerexponent α.The incident angle at which the localization length takes the maximum value is called thegeneralized Brewster angle as before. However, in contrast to previous works with a weakdisorder, the wave incident at generalized Brewster angle is not always in the extendedregime. For special values of α and the frequency, the system is in a localizedstate at this angle. But, the localization length at this Brewster angle is always largerthan that at other angles. The effects of α variation on the localization length at thisBrewster angle and its position are investigated for different frequencies. Thelocalization at this angle degrades with increasing α for all frequencies. Atsome working frequencies, the generalized Brewster angle is a decreasing function ofα. However,at other frequencies, the dependence of generalized Brewster angle on α is not monotonic. Forincident angles smaller than a specific angle, the localization length increases withincreasing α.However, for incident angles larger than this specific angle, there are incident angles atwhich any increase of α leads to the decrease of localization length. Inother words, for these incident angles, the improvement of Anderson localizationsurprisingly happens with decrease of disorder strength and the refractive index contrast.  相似文献

We study the influence of nonlinearity on wave localization in one-dimensional random media. Using a discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a random on-site energy term, we calculate the localization length in a numerically exact manner. Unlike in many previous works, we fix the intensity of the incident wave and calculate quantities as a function of other parameters. We find that localization is enhanced due to nonlinearity for the focusing and defocusing nonlinearities. For small nonlinearity, the localization length is a decreasing function of nonlinearity. For sufficiently large nonlinearity, however, the localization length is found to approach a saturation value.  相似文献

The localization length of wave functions in one-dimensional disordered systems with periodic modulation is studied. The role of spatial inhomogeneity in the problem is considered. We calculate the localization length varying with energy for the compositionally modulated systems with either the disorder of Anderson distributions or the randomness of periods. The results show that the non-uniformity of disordered systems leads to some different properties of the localized wave functions.  相似文献

We address the issue of fluctuations, about an exponential line shape, in a pair of one-dimensional kicked quantum systems exhibiting dynamical localization. An exact renormalization scheme establishes the fractal character of the fluctuations and provides a method to compute the localization length in terms of the fluctuations. In the case of a linear rotor, the fluctuations are independent of the kicking parameter k and exhibit self-similarity for certain values of the quasienergy. For given k, the asymptotic localization length is a good characteristic of the localized line shapes for all quasienergies. This is in stark contrast to the quadratic rotor, where the fluctuations depend upon the strength of the kicking and exhibit local "resonances." These resonances result in strong deviations of the localization length from the asymptotic value. The consequences are particularly pronounced when considering the time evolution of a packet made up of several quasienergy states.  相似文献

This paper presents an analytical approach of the propagation of an acoustic wave through a normally distributed disordered lattice made up of Helmholtz resonators connected to a cylindrical duct. This approach allows to determine analytically the exact transmission coefficient of a weakly disordered lattice. Analytical results are compared to a well-known numerical method based on a matrix product. Furthermore, this approach gives an analytical expression of the localization length apart from the Bragg stopband which depends only on the standard deviation of the normal distribution disorder. This expression permits to study on one hand the localization length as a function of both disorder strength and frequency, and on the other hand, the propagation characteristics on the edges of two sorts of stopbands (Bragg and Helmholtz stopbands). Lastly, the value of the localization length inside the Helmholtz stopband is compared to the localization length in the Bragg stopband.  相似文献

利用Ronchi光栅的Talbot效应和Moiré条纹测量长焦透镜焦距,根据焦距与莫尔条纹斜率之间的定量关系可求得透镜焦距.分别采用Canny算子和形态学方法对光栅的栅线中心进行像素级定位,再用高斯曲线拟合对其进行亚像素定位.经过对标准条纹的标定,验证了该方法的条纹中心定位误差小于0.1个像素.采用光栅作为系统的自基准对CCD像素当量进行了亚像素标定,为条纹斜率和宽度的计算提供了可靠的测量基准,经过计算,采用这些数据计算的焦距误差为0.10%.  相似文献

The effects of an externally applied magnetic field on the Anderson localization of electromagnetic waves in an alternating layered system of vacuum and semiconducting slabs are studied. Specifically, a waveguide formed from perfectly conducting parallel plates which contain between them an array of vacuum and n-type semiconductor slabs is examined in the presence of an external static magnetic field applied parallel to both the plates and the slab surfaces. The widths of the slabs in the array are random but with a randomness such that the array of slabs is almost periodic, and we study only electromagnetic modes which propagate perpendicular to the slab surfaces. The localization length is obtained by studying the reflection and transmission properties of a finite array of slabs in the limit that it becomes semi-infinite. Two types of system are treated: (i) a reciprocal system which exhibits a localization length that does not depend on the sign of the applied magnetic field, and (ii) a non-reciprocal system which exhibits a localization length that depends on the sign of the applied magnetic field.  相似文献
