Mathematical tools are provided for the computation of the scattered field produced by a non-spherical particle moving through the measurement volume of a phase Doppler anemometer. The Doppler signal is modeled by using the rigorous extended boundary condition method and an approximate ray theory. The region of applicability of ray theory is discussed. In particular, a pure refraction model is considered for large particles. It is shown that under some circumstances the phase Doppler technique may be used for sizing of spheroidal particles. 相似文献

Interaction of vortex rings with solid is an important research
topic of hydrodynamic. In this study, a multiple-relaxation time
(MRT) lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is used to investigate the flow
of a vortex ring impacting spheroidal particles. The MRT-LBM is
validated through the cases of vortex ring impacting a flat wall.
The vortex evolution due to particle size, the aspect ratio of a
prolate particle, as well as Reynolds $(Re)$ number are discussed in
detail. When the vortex ring impacting a stationary sphere, the
primary and secondary vortex rings wrap around each other,
which is different from the situation of the vortex ring
impacting a plate. For the vortex ring impacting with a prolate
spheroid, the secondary vortex ring stretches mainly along the long
axis of the ellipsoid particle. However, it is found that after the
vortex wrapping stage, the primary vortex recovers along the short
axis of the particle faster than that in the long axis,
i.e., the primary vortex ring stretches mainly along the short axis
of the particle. That has never been addressed in the literature. 相似文献

We apply perturbative QCD to the radiative decays of charmonia J/ψ and χcJ into light mesons. We perform a complete numerical calculation for the quark-gluon loop diagrams involved in these processes. The calculated J/ψ decay branching ratios into p-wave mesons f2(1270) and f1(1285) fit the data well, while that of fo(980) (if treated as an ss meson) is predicted to be 1.6×10^-4, which implies that f0(1710) can not be the ss or (uu+dd)/√2 meson. Decays of p-wave charmonia χcJ→ρ(ω;φ)γ (J = 0, 1, 2) are also studied, and the branching ratio of χc1→ργ is predicted to be 1.4×10^-5, which may be tested by CLEO-c collaboration and BESlg collaboration with future experiments. 相似文献

We have investigated the pressure effect on the eletrorotation (ER) spectrum of living cell suspensions byconsidering the particle shape effect. In particular, we consider coated oblate spheroidal particles and present a theoreticalstudy of ER based on the spectral representation theory. Analytic expressions for the characteristic frequency as wellas the dispersion strength can be obtained, thus simplifying the fitting of experimental data on oblate spheroidal cellsthat abound in the literature. From the theoretical analysis, we find that the cellshape, coating as well as materialparameters can change the ER spectrum. We demonstrate a good agreement between our theoretical predictions andexperimental data on human erthrocytes suspensions. 相似文献

Tie zero-magnetic-field oscillation behavior of spin torque nano-oscillator(STNO) with a perpendicularly magnetized free layer with second-order uniaxial anisotropy is studied theoretically based on the Landau-LifshitzGilbert-Slonczewski equation.It is demonstrated numerically that the second-order uniaxial anisotropy plays a significant role in the occurrence of a zero-magnetic-field steady-state precession,which can be understood in terms of the energy balance between the energy accumulation due to the spin torque and the energy dissipation due to the Gilbert damping.In particular,a relatively large zero-magnetic-field-oscillation current region,in which the corresponding microwave frequency is increased while the threshold current still maintains an almost constant value,can be obtained by modulating the second-order uniaxial anisotropy of the free layer.These results suggest a tunable zero-magnetic-Reld STNO,and it may be a promising configuration for STNO's applications in future wireless communications. 相似文献
