We present a scheme for the preparation of two-qubit entangled states of two two-level ions. Our scheme is insensitive to both the initial vibrational state and heating. This protocol may be realizable in the current physical experiment.  相似文献

We propose a fast scheme to generate the quantum-interference states of N trapped ions. In the scheme the ions are driven by a standing-wave laser beam whose carrier frequency is tuned such that the ion transition can take place. We also propose a simple and fast scheme to produce the GHZ state of N hot trapped ions and this scheme is insensitive to the heating of vibrational motion, which is important from the viewpoint of decoherence.  相似文献

A scheme for the preparation of four-ion entangled cluster states has been proposed. Two two-level ions are confined in a linear trap and are simultaneously driven with a laser beam. In the Lamb-Dicke regime, we can get the effective Hamiltonian in the interaction picture.The effective Hamiltonian may be used to describe a realistic physical system. We proposed a scheme for the reconstruction of the quantum states for the center-of-mass vibrational mode of two trapped ions. In the scheme the ions are multichromatically excited by three lasers. Then measurement of the difference between probabilities of the ions being both in electronic ground and excited states directly yields the Wigner characteristic function for the center-of-mass vibrational state. The scheme can also be used to prepare entangled coherent states for the center-of-mass and relative vibrational modes.  相似文献

We describe a scheme for the generation of macroscopic quantum-interference states for a collection of trapped ions by a single geometric phase operation. In the scheme the vibrational mode is displaced along a circle with the radius proportional to the number of ions in a certain ground electronic state. For a given interaction time, the vibrational mode returns to the original state, and the ionic system acquires a geometric phase proportional to the area of the circle, evolving from a coherent state to a superposition of two coherent states. The ions undergo no electronic transitions during the operation. Taking advantage of the inherent fault-tolerant feature of the geometric operation, our scheme is robust against decoherence.  相似文献

We propose a scheme for implementing nongeometric phase gates fbr two trapped ions via adiabatic passage of dark states. During the operation, the vibrational mode is only virtually excited, thus the scheme is insensitive to heating. Furthermore, the spontaneous emission is suppressed since the ions are always in the electronic ground states. The scheme is robust against small fluctuations of parameters, and the conditional phase is tunable.  相似文献

We propose a scheme for implementing two-qubit geometric phase gate via the adiabatic evolution for trapped ions in thermal motion, leveraging on the stimulated Raman adiabatic passage with the geometric phase mechanism. Evolution along a dark state makes our scheme not only immune from decoherence due to spontaneous emission from excited states, but also rid off the dynamical phase. Furthermore, due to the opposite detuning of the driving lasers, the vibrational states of the trapped ions are only virtually excited during the operations, so our scheme is also insensitive to the occupation number of the vibrational mode.  相似文献

This paper proposes an experimentally feasible scheme for implementing quantum dense coding of trapped-ion system in decoherence-free states. As the phase changes due to time evolution of components with different eigenenergies of quantum superposition are completely frozen, quantum dense coding based on this model would be perfect. A scheme is proposed to generate arbitrary, discrete superpostions of squeezed coherent states of the squeezed center of mass of $N$ trapped ions along a straight line in phase space. The scheme is based on a resonant bichromatic excitation of each trapped ion that generates displacement and squeezing in the vibrational motion conditioned to each internal state. The three-dimensional vibrational problem for the isolated van der Waals complex formed by the Li+ cation with the N2 molecule is solved by the variational method. The potential energy and dipole moment surfaces are calculated using different basis sets of atomic functions and different approaches for taking electron correlation into account. The anharmonic effects caused by the interaction of vibrational degrees of freedom of the complex are consistently considered for the first time. The energy levels of three-dimensional vibrational states are determined. The frequency shift of the N2 molecule vibration upon complexation and the fundamental transition intensity for this vibration in the complex are calculated. The frequencies and intensities for a number of spectral transitions between the states associated with excitation of low-frequency modes are determined. The average values of geometrical parameters and their variances are calculated for the ground state and excited vibrational states of the complex.  相似文献

关于双原子分子离子XY 的完全振动能谱,目前还没有实验和理论的数据报道。本文首次应用代数方法AM(Algebraic Method),获得了BeH -X1Σ 态,CO -X2Σ 态,F2 -X2Πg态,O2 -A2Πu态和Li2 -X2Σg 态的精确振动光谱常数和完全振动能谱,解决了实验方法和精确量子力学理论方法难以获得双原子分子离子XY 的包含最高振动能级在内的所有高阶振动能级的精确数值这一问题。所有研究结果表明:由部分较低的实验精确振动能级,可用AM产生双原子分子离子XY 的精确振动光谱常数和包含全部激发态的完全振动能谱;所得的AM振动能谱比其他理论方法得到的结果更好。  相似文献

We propose an alternative scheme for preparing N-qubit cluster state by using a frequency-modulated laser field to simultaneously illuminate the trapped ions. Selecting the index of modulation yields the selective mechanisms of coupling and decoupling between the internal and external states of the ions. Based on the selective mechanisms, the highly entangled cluster state is achieved. In our scheme, the vibration mode is only virtually excited. Thus the quantum operations are insensitive to the heating and lead to the high-fidelity quantum information processing.  相似文献
