The reactions dynamics of the dicarbon molecule C2 in the 1Sigma (g)+ singlet ground state and 3Pi(u) first excited triplet state with allene, H2CCCH2(X1A1), was investigated under single collision conditions using the crossed molecular beam approach at four collision energies between 13.6 and 49.4 kJ mol(-1). The experiments were combined with ab initio electronic structure calculations of the relevant stationary points on the singlet and triplet potential energy surfaces. Our investigations imply that the reactions are barrier-less and indirect on both the singlet and the triplet surfaces and proceed through bound C5H4 intermediates via addition of the dicarbon molecule to the carbon-carbon double bond (singlet surface) and to the terminal as well as central carbon atoms of the allene molecule (triplet surface). The initial collision complexes isomerize to form triplet and singlet pentatetraene intermediates (H2CCCCCH2) that decompose via atomic hydrogen loss to yield the 2,4-pentadiynyl-1 radical, HCCCCCH2(X2B1). These channels result in symmetric center-of-mass angular distributions. On the triplet surface, a second channel involves the existence of a nonsymmetric reaction intermediate (HCCCH2CCH) that fragments through atomic hydrogen emission to the 1,4-pentadiynyl-3 radical [C5H3(X2B1)HCCCHCCH]; this pathway was found to account for the backward scattered center-of-mass angular distributions at higher collision energies. The identification of two resonance-stabilized free C5H3 radicals (i.e., 2,4-pentadiynyl-1 and 1,4-pentadiynyl-3) suggests that these molecules can be important transient species in combustion flames and in the chemical evolution of the interstellar medium. 相似文献

Ab initio calculations of the potential energy surface for the C(2)(X(1)Sigma(g)(+)) + CH(3)CCH(X(1)A(1)) reaction have been carried at the G2M level of theory. The calculations show that the dicarbon molecule in the ground singlet electronic state can add to methylacetylene without a barrier producing a three-member or a four-member ring intermediate, which can rapidly rearrange to the most stable H(3)CCCCCH isomer on the C(5)H(4) singlet surface. This isomer can then lose a hydrogen atom (H) or molecular hydrogen (H(2)) from the CH(3) group with the formation of H(2)CCCCCH and HCCCCCH, respectively. Alternatively, H atom migrations and three-member-ring closure/opening rearrangements followed by H and H(2) losses can lead to other isomers of the C(5)H(3) and C(5)H(2) species. According to the calculated energetics, the C(2)(X(1)Sigma(g)(+)) + CH(3)CCH reaction is likely to be a major source of the C(5)H(3) radicals (in particular, the most stable H(2)CCCCCH and HCCCHCCH isomers, which are relevant to the formation of benzene through the reactions with CH(3)). Among heavy-fragment product channels, only C(3)H(3) + C(2)H and c-C(3)H(2) + C(2)H(2) might compete with C(5)H(3) + H and C(5)H(2) + H(2). RRKM calculations of reaction rate constants and product branching ratios depending on the reactive collision energy showed that the major reaction products are expected to be H(2)CCCCCH + H (64-66%) and HCCCHCCH + H (34-30%), with minor contributions from HCCCCCH + H(2) (1-2%), HCCCHCC + H(2) (up to 1%), C(3)H(3) + C(2)H (up to 1%), and c-C(3)H(2) + C(2)H(2) (up to 0.1%) if the energy randomization is complete. The calculations also indicate that the C(2)(X(1)Sigma(g)(+)) + CH(3)CCH(X(1)A(1)) reaction can proceed by direct H-abstraction of a methyl hydrogen to form C(3)H(3) + C(2)H almost without a barrier. 相似文献

Crossed molecular beams experiments have been utilized to investigate the reaction dynamics between two closed shell species, i.e. the reactions of tricarbon molecules, C(3)(X(1)Sigma(g)(+)), with allene (H(2)CCCH(2); X(1)A(1)), and with methylacetylene (CH(3)CCH; X(1)A(1)). Our investigations indicated that both these reactions featured characteristic threshold energies of 40-50 kJ mol(-1). The reaction dynamics are indirect and suggested the reactions proceeded via an initial addition of the tricarbon molecule to the unsaturated hydrocarbon molecules forming initially cyclic reaction intermediates of the generic formula C(6)H(4). The cyclic intermediates isomerize to yield eventually the acyclic isomers CH(3)CCCCCH (methylacetylene reaction) and H(2)CCCCCCH(2) (allene reaction). Both structures decompose via atomic hydrogen elimination to form the 1-hexene-3,4-diynyl-2 radical (C(6)H(3); H(2)CCCCCCH). Future flame studies utilizing the Advanced Light Source should therefore investigate the existence of 1-hexene-3,4-diynyl-2 radicals in high temperature methylacetylene and allene flames. Since the corresponding C(3)H(3), C(4)H(3), and C(5)H(3) radicals have been identified via their ionization potentials in combustion flames, the existence of the C(6)H(3) isomer 1-hexene-3,4-diynyl-2 can be predicted as well. 相似文献

Crossed molecular beam experiments were utilized to untangle the reaction dynamics to form 1-phenylmethylacetylene [CH(3)CCC(6)H(5)] and 1-phenylallene [C(6)H(5)HCCCH(2)] in the reactions of phenyl radicals with methylacetylene and allene, respectively, over a range of collision energies from 91.4 to 161.1 kJ mol(-1). Both reactions proceed via indirect scattering dynamics and are initiated by an addition of the phenyl radical to the terminal carbon atom of the methylacetylene and allene reactants to form short-lived doublet C(9)H(9) collision complexes CH(3)CCHC(6)H(5) and C(6)H(5)H(2)CCCH(2). Studies with isotopically labeled reactants and the information on the energetics of the reactions depict that the energy randomization in the decomposing intermediates is incomplete. The collision complexes undergo atomic hydrogen losses via tight exit transition states leading to 1-phenylmethylacetylene [CH(3)CCC(6)H(5)] and 1-phenylallene [C(6)H(5)HCCCH(2)]. The possible role of both C(9)H(8) isomers as precursors to PAHs in combustion flames and in the chemistry of circumstellar envelopes of dying carbon stars is discussed. 相似文献

The chemical dynamics of the reaction of ground state carbon atoms, C(3Pj), with vinyl cyanide, C2H3CN(X 1A'), were examined under single collision conditions at collision energies of 29.9 and 43.9 kJ mol(-1) using the crossed molecular beams approach. The experimental studies were combined with electronic structure calculations on the triplet C4H3N potential energy surface (H. F. Su, R. I. Kaiser, A. H. H. Chang, J. Chem. Phys., 2005, 122, 074320). Our investigations suggest that the reaction follows indirect scattering dynamics via addition of the carbon atom to the carbon-carbon double bond of the vinyl cyanide molecule yielding a cyano cyclopropylidene collision complex. The latter undergoes ring opening to form cis/trans triplet cyano allene which fragments predominantly to the 1-cyano propargyl radical via tight exit transition states; the 3-cyano propargyl isomer was inferred to be formed at least a factor of two less; also, no molecular hydrogen elimination channel was observed experimentally. These results are in agreement with the computational studies predicting solely the existence of a carbon versus hydrogen atom exchange pathway and the dominance of the 1-cyano propargyl radical product. The discovery of the cyano propargyl radical in the reaction of atomic carbon with vinyl cyanide under single collision conditions implies that this molecule can be an important reaction intermediate in combustion flames and also in extraterrestrial environments (cold molecular clouds, circumstellar envelopes of carbon stars) which could lead to the formation of cyano benzene (C6H5CN) upon reaction with a propargyl radical. 相似文献

The reaction of ground state boron atoms, 11B(2Pj), with allene, H2CCCH2(X1A1), was studied under single collision conditions at a collision energy of 21.5 kJ mol(-1) utilizing the crossed molecular beam technique; the experimental data were combined with electronic structure calculations on the 11BC3H4 potential energy surface. The chemical dynamics were found to be indirect and initiated by an addition of the boron atom to the pi-electron density of the allene molecule leading ultimately to a cyclic reaction intermediate. The latter underwent ring-opening to yield an acyclic intermediate H2CCBCH2. As derived from the center-of-mass functions, this structure was long-lived with respect to its rotational period and decomposed via an atomic hydrogen loss through a tight exit transition state to form the closed shell, C2v symmetric H-C is equivalent C-B=CH2 molecule. A brief comparison of the product isomers formed in the reaction of boron atoms with methylacetylene is also presented. 相似文献

The reaction between ground state carbon atoms, C(3P(j)), and phosphine, PH3(X(1)A1), was investigated at two collision energies of 21.1 and 42.5 kJ mol(-1) using the crossed molecular beam technique. The chemical dynamics extracted from the time-of-flight spectra and laboratory angular distributions combined with ab initio calculations propose that the reaction proceeds on the triplet surface via an addition of atomic carbon to the phosphorus atom. This leads to a triplet CPH3 complex. A successive hydrogen shift forms an HCPH2 intermediate. The latter was found to decompose through atomic hydrogen emission leading to the cis/trans-HCPH(X(2)A') reaction products. The identification of cis/trans-HCPH(X(2)A') molecules under single collision conditions presents a potential pathway to form the very first carbon-phosphorus bond in extraterrestrial environments like molecular clouds and circumstellar envelopes, and even in the postplume chemistry of the collision of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 with Jupiter. 相似文献

The chemical dynamics of the reaction of allyl radicals, C(3)H(5)(X(2)A(2)), with two C(3)H(4) isomers, methylacetylene (CH(3)CCH(X(1)A(1))) and allene (H(2)CCCH(2)(X(1)A(1))) together with their (partially) deuterated counterparts, were unraveled under single-collision conditions at collision energies of about 125 kJ mol(-1) utilizing a crossed molecular beam setup. The experiments indicate that the reactions are indirect via complex formation and proceed via an addition of the allyl radical with its terminal carbon atom to the terminal carbon atom of the allene and of methylacetylene (alpha-carbon atom) to form the intermediates H(2)CCHCH(2)CH(2)CCH(2) and H(2)CCHCH(2)CHCCH(3), respectively. The lifetimes of these intermediates are similar to their rotational periods but too short for a complete energy randomization to occur. Experiments with D4-allene and D4-methylacetylene verify explicitly that the allyl group stays intact: no hydrogen emission was observed but only the release of deuterium atoms from the perdeuterated reactants. Further isotopic substitution experiments with D3-methylacetylene combined with the nonstatistical nature of the reaction suggest that the intermediates decompose via hydrogen atom elimination to 1,3,5-hexatriene, H(2)CCHCH(2)CHCCH(2), and 1-hexen-4-yne, H(2)CCHCH(2)CCCH(3), respectively, via tight exit transition states located about 10-15 kJ mol(-1) above the separated products. The overall reactions were found to be endoergic by 98 +/- 4 kJ mol(-1) and have characteristic threshold energies to reaction between 105 and 110 kJ mol(-1). Implications of these findings to combustion and interstellar chemistry are discussed. 相似文献

A lower limit to the OH(X2Π) vibrational excitation produced by the reaction O(1D) + H2 has been observed using a low-pressure infrared chemiluminescence apparatus. The O(1D) was generated by laser photolysis of O3. The measured OH(v') vibrational distribution is inverted; it peaks at v' = 2. 相似文献

The recombination rate constants for the reactions NH2(X2B1) + NH2(X2B1) + M → N2H4 + M and NH2(X2B1) + H + M → NH3 + M, where M was CH4, C2H6, CO2, CF4, or SF6, were measured in the same experiment over presseure ranges of 1-20 and 7-20 Torr, respectively, at 296 ± 2 K. The NH2 radical was produced by the 193 nm laser photolysis of NH3. Both NH2 and NH3 were monitored simultaneously following the photolysis laser pulse. High-resolution time-resolved absorption spectroscopy was used to monitor the temporal dependence of both species: NH2 on the (1)2(21) ← (1)3(31) rotational transition of the (0,7,0)A2A1 ← (0,0,0)X2B1 electronic transition near 675 nm and NH3 in the IR on either of the inversion doublets of the qQ3(3) rotational transition of the ν1 fundamental near 2999 nm. The NH2 self-recombination clearly exhibited falloff behavior for the third-body collision partners used in this work. The pressure dependences of the NH2 self-recombination rate constants were fit using Troe’s parametrization scheme, k(inf), k(0), and F(cent), with k(inf) = 7.9 × 10(-11) cm3 molecule(-1) s(-1), the theoretical value calculated by Klippenstein et al. (J. Phys. Chem. A113, 113, 10241). The individual Troe parameters were CH4, k(0)(CH4) = 9.4 × 10(-29) and F(cent)(CH4) = 0.61; C2H6, k(0)(C2H6) = 1.5 × 10(-28) and F(cent)(C2H6) = 0.80; CO2, k(0)(CO2) = 8.6 × 10(-29) and F(cent)(CO2) = 0.66; CF4, k(0)(CF4) = 1.1 × 10(-28) and F(cent)(CF4) = 0.55; and SF6, k(0)(SF6) = 1.9 × 10(-28) and F(cent)(SF6) = 0.52, where the units of k0 are cm6 molecule(-2) s(-1). The NH2 + H + M reaction rate constant was assumed to be in the three-body pressure regime, and the association rate constants were CH4, (6.0 ± 1.8) × 10(-30); C2H6, (1.1 ± 0.41) × 10(-29); CO2, (6.5 ± 1.8) × 10(-30); CF4, (8.3 ± 1.7) × 10(-30); and SF6, (1.4 ± 0.30) × 10(-29), with units cm6 molecule(-1) s,(-1) and the systematic and experimental errors are given at the 2σ confidence level. 相似文献

Ab initio modified Gaussian-2 G2M(RCC,MP2) calculations have been performed for various isomers and transition states on the singlet C4H4 potential energy surface. The computed relative energies and molecular parameters have then been used to calculate energy-dependent rate constants for different isomerization and dissociation processes in the C4H4 system employing Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus theory and to predict branching ratios of possible products of the C2(1Sigmag+)+C2H4, C(1D)+H2CCCH2, and C(1D)+H3CCCH reactions under single-collision conditions. The results show that C2 adds to the double C=C bond of ethylene without a barrier to form carbenecyclopropane, which then isomerizes to butatriene by a formal C2 "insertion" into the C-C bond of the C2H4 fragment. Butatriene can rearrange to the other isomers of C4H4, including allenylcarbene, methylenecyclopropene, vinylacetylene, methylpropargylene, cyclobutadiene, tetrahedrane, methylcyclopropenylidene, and bicyclobutene. The major decomposition products of the chemically activated C4H4 molecule formed in the C2(1Sigmag+)+C2H4 reaction are calculated to be acetylene+vinylidene (48.6% at Ecol = 0) and 1-buten-3-yne-2-yl radical [i-C4H3(X2A'), H2C=C=C=CH*]+H (41.3%). As the collision energy increases from 0 to 10 kcal/mol, the relative yield of i-C4H3+H grows to 52.6% and that of C2H2+CCH2 decreases to 35.5%. For the C(1D)+allene reaction, the most important products are also i-C4H3+H (55.2%) and C2H2+CCH2 (30.1%), but for C(1D)+methylacetylene, which accesses a different region of the C4H4 singlet potential energy surface, the calculated product branching ratios differ significantly: 65%-69% for i-C4H3+H, 18%-14% for C2H2+CCH2, and approximately 8% for diacetylene+H2. 相似文献

Hydroxyl radical reacts with the aliphatic C-H bonds of amino acids by H atom abstraction. Under anaerobic conditions inclusion of a (2)H atom donor results in (1)H/(2)H exchange into these C-H bonds [Goshe et al. Biochemistry 2000, 39, 1761--1770]. The site of (1)H/(2)H exchange can be detected and quantified by (2)H NMR. Integration of the (2)H NMR resonances within a single spectrum permits the relative rate of H atom abstraction from each position to be determined. Analysis of the aliphatic amino acid spectra indicates that the methine and methylene positions were more reactive than the methyl positions. The (2)H NMR spectra of isoleucine and leucine show that H-atom abstraction distal to the alpha-carbon occurs preferentially. Significant (1)H/(2)H exchange was observed into the delta positions of proline and arginine and into the epsilon-methylene of lysine, indicating that a positive charge on a geminal N does not inhibit the (1)H/(2)H exchange. Comparisons of (2)H NMR integrations between amino acid spectra indicated that (1)H/(2)H exchange occurred in the following descending order: L > I > V > R > K > Y > P > H > F >M> T > A > [C, S, D, N, E, Q, G, W]. The extent of (1)H/(2)H exchange into methionine, N-glycyl-methionine, and methionine sulfoxide suggests that a prominent solvent exchange pathway involving hydroxyl radical mediated oxidation of methionine exists to account for the large (2)H incorporation into the gamma-methylene of methionine sulfoxide that is absent for N-glycyl-methionine. Analysis of the (1)H NMR spectra of the reactions with phenylalanine and tyrosine indicated that hydroxyl radical addition to the phenyl ring under the anaerobic reductive reaction conditions did not result in either exchange or hydroxylation. 相似文献

CCl2 free radicals were produced by a pulsed dc discharge of CCl4 in Ar. Ground electronic state CCl2(X) radicals were electronically excited to the A1B1 (0,4,0) vibronic state with an Nd:YAG laser pumped dye laser at 541.52 nm. Experimental quenching data of excited CCl2(A1B1 and a3B1) by O2, N2, NO, N2O, NH3, NH(CH3)2, NH(C2H5)2, and N(C2H5)3 molecules were obtained by observing the time‐resolved total fluorescence signal of the excited CCl2 radical in a cell, which showed a superposition of two exponential decay components under the presence of quencher. The quenching rate constants kA of CCl2(A) state and ka of CCl2(a) state were derived by analyzing the experimental data according to a proposed three‐level model to deal with the CCl2(X1A1, A1B1, a3B1) system. The formation cross sections of complexes of electronically excited CCl2 radicals with O2, N2, NO, N2O, NH3, and aminated molecules were calculated by means of a collision‐complex model. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The recombination rate constant for the NH(2)(X(2)B(1)) + NH(2)(X(2)B(1)) → N(2)H(4)(X(1)A(1)) reaction in He, Ne, Ar, and N(2) was measured over the pressure range 1-20 Torr at a temperature of 296 K. The NH(2) radical was produced by 193 nm laser photolysis of NH(3) dilute in the third-body gas. The production of NH(2) and the loss of NH(3) were monitored by high-resolution continuous-wave absorption spectroscopy: NH(2) on the (1)2(21) ← (1)3(31) rotational transition of the (0,7,0)A(2)A(1) ← (0,0,0) X(2)B(1) vibronic band and NH(3) on either inversion doublet of the (q)Q(3)(3) rotational transition of the ν(1) fundamental. Both species were detected simultaneously following the photolysis laser pulse. The broader Doppler width of the NH(2) spectral transition allowed temporal concentration measurements to be extended up to 20 Torr before pressure broadening effects became significant. Fall-off behavior was identified and the bimolecular rate constants for each collision partner were fit to a simple Troe form defined by the parameters, k(0), k(inf), and F(cent). This work is the first part of a two part series in which part 2 will discuss the measurements with more efficient energy transfer collision partners CH(4), C(2)H(6), CO(2), CF(4), and SF(6). The pressure range was too limited to extract any new information on k(inf), and k(inf) was taken from the theoretical calculations of Klippenstein et al. (J. Phys. Chem A 2009, 113, 10241) as k(inf) = 7.9 × 10(-11) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1) at 296 K. The individual Troe parameters were: He, k(0) = 2.8 × 10(-29) and F(cent) = 0.47; Ne, k(0) = 2.7 × 10(-29) and F(cent) = 0.34; Ar, k(0) = 4.4 × 10(-29) and F(cent) = 0.41; N(2), k(0) = 5.7 × 10(-29) and F(cent) = 0.61, with units cm(6) molecule(-2) s(-1) for k(0). In the case of N(2) as the third body, it was possible to measure the recombination rate constant for the NH(2) + H reaction near 20 Torr total pressure. The pure three-body recombination rate constant was (2.3 ± 0.55) × 10(-30) cm(6) molecule(-2) s(-1), where the uncertainty is the total experimental uncertainty including systematic errors at the 2σ level of confidence. 相似文献

The reaction of triplet methylene with methanol is a key process in alcohol combustion but surprisingly this reaction has never been studied. The reaction mechanism is investigated by using various high-level ab initio methods, including the complete basis set extrapolation (CBS-QB3 and CBS-APNO), the latest Gaussian-n composite method (G4), and the Weizmann-1 method (W1U). A total of five product channels and six transition states are found. The dominant mechanism is direct hydrogen abstraction, and the major product channel is CH(3) + CH(3)O, involving a weak prereactive complex and a 7.4 kcal/mol barrier. The other hydrogen abstraction channel, CH(3) + CH(2)OH, is less important even though it is more exothermic and involves a similar barrier height. The rate coefficients are predicted in the temperature range 200-3000 K. The tunneling effect and the hindered internal rotational freedoms play a key role in the reaction. Moreover, the reaction shows significant kinetic isotope effect. 相似文献

The interstellar reaction of ground-state carbon atom with the simplest polyyne, diacetylene (HCCCCH), is investigated theoretically to explore probable routes to form hydrogen-deficient carbon clusters at ultralow temperature in cold molecular clouds. The isomerization and dissociation channels for each of the three collision complexes are characterized by utilizing the unrestricted B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) level of theory and the CCSD(T)/cc-pVTZ calculations. With facilitation of RRKM and variational RRKM rate constants at collision energies of 0-10 kcalmol, the most probable paths, thus reaction mechanism, are determined. Subsequently, the corresponding rate equations are solved that the evolutions of concentrations of collision complexes, intermediates, and products versus time are obtained. As a result, the final products and yields are identified. This study predicts that three collision complexes, c1, c2, and c3, would produce a single final product, 2,4-pentadiynylidyne, HCCCCC(X (2)Pi), C(5)H (p1)+H, via the most stable intermediate, carbon chain HC(5)H (i4). Our investigation indicates the title reaction is efficient to form astronomically observed 2,4-pentadiynylidyne in cold molecular clouds, where a typical translational temperature is 10 K, via a single bimolecular gas phase reaction. 相似文献

The proton transfer reaction between OH- and C2H2, the sole reactive process observed over the collision energy range from 0.37 to 1.40 eV, has been studied using the crossed beam technique and density-functional theory (DFT) calculations. The center of mass flux distributions of the product C2H- ions at three different energies are highly asymmetric, characteristic of a direct process occurring on a time scale much less than a rotational period of any transient intermediate. The maxima in the flux distributions correspond to product velocities and directions close to those of the precursor acetylene reactants. The reaction quantitatively transforms the entire exothermicity into internal excitation of the products, consistent with an energy release motif in which the proton is transferred early, in a configuration in which the forming bond is extended. This picture is supported by DFT calculations showing that the first electrostatically bound intermediate on the reaction pathway is the productlike C2H- H2O species. Most of the incremental translational energy in the two higher collision energy experiments appears in product translational energy, and provides an example of induced repulsive energy release characteristic of the heavy+light-heavy mass combination. 相似文献
