The CD spectrum of the complexesQ·2CuCl2,Q·2CoCl2,Q·2NiCl2·8H2O,Q·3CrCl3·6H2O,Q·PdCl2·3H2O andQ·2PdCl2·5H2O (whereQ=quinine) inDMF orDMSO solution revealsCotton effects in the d-d absorption range. TheCotton effects are relatively strong in the case of Cu(II) and Pd(II) complexes which implies that only in these complexes the hydroxyl group of the quinine molecule possibly participates in the coordination with these metal ions by formation of a chelate ring. The IR spectra of the complexes of Pd(II) are discussed in this respect.
Circular Dichroismus der Komplexe des Chinins mit Kupfer(II)-, Nickel(II)-, Kobalt(II)-, Chrom(III)- und Palladium(II)-chlorid
Zusammenfassung Die CD-Spektren der KomplexeQ·2CuCl2,Q·2CoCl2,Q·2NiCl2·8H2O,Q·3CrCl3·6H2O,Q·PdCl2·3H2O undQ·2PdCl2·5H2O, (Q=Chinin), inDMF-bzw.DMSO-Lösungen zeigenCotton-Effekte im Gebiet der d-d-Elektronenübergänge. DieCotton-Effekte sind relativ stark im Falle der Cu(II)- und Pd(II)-Komplexe, was zu der Annahme führt, daß die Hydroxygruppe des Chininmoleküls in diesen Komplexen wahrscheinlich an der Koordination dieser Metallionen durch Chelatringbildung teilnimmt. Unter diesem Aspekt werden die IR-Spektren der Pd(II)-Komplexe untersucht.

Summary A QSAR based on a multiple regression analysis for 15 copper(II) semi- and thiosemicarbazone complexes with cytotoxic properties is presented. In vitro cytotoxicity was selected as the dependent variable and Van der Waals volumes (Vm), octanol- water partition coefficients (logP), specific rate constants of the copper(II) complexes towards superoxide radicals (k s ) and variation in C=N vibration bands (CN) in IR spectra of the complexes with respect to the free ligands were selected as the independent variables. The stepwise regression procedure and the all possible regressions were practiced in the analysis of the data. The orthogonality analysis proved noncollinearity among the variables. According to the obtained equation the two best copper(II) complexes were submitted to a broad in vivo screening study and resulted to be active against La, P-388 and L-1210 leukemias.
QSAR von Kupfer(II)-Komplexen mit cytotoxischen Eigenschaften
Zusammenfassung Es wird eine quantitative Struktur-Aktivitäts-Beziehung basierend auf einer multiplen Regressionsanalyse für 18 Kupfer(II)-Semi- und Thiosemicarbazon-Komplexe präsentiert. Die in vitro-Cytotoxizität wurde als die abhängige Variable und Van-der-Waals-Volumina (Vm), Octanol-Wasser-Verteilungskoeffizienten (logP), spezifische Geschwindigkeitskonstanten der Kupfer(II)-Komplexe gegenüber Superoxid-Radikalen (k s ) und die Variationen der C=N-Vibrationsbanden (CN) in den IR-Spektren der Komplexe gegenüber den freien Liganden als unabhängige Variablen eingeführt. Es wurde stufenweise Regression und die alle möglichen Regressionen-Prozedur in der Analyse der Daten verwendet. Die Orthogonalitätsanalyse zeigte Nichtkolinearität der Variablen an. Entsprechend den erhaltenen Gleichungen wurden die beiden besten Kupfer(II)-Komplexe einem breiten in vivo-Screening unterworfen. Sie waren gegenüber La, P-388 und L-1210 Leukemie aktiv.

A combined experimental and computational study of the ionic‐liquid‐mediated dehydration of glucose and fructose by CrII and CrIII chlorides has been performed. The ability of chromium to selectively dehydrate glucose to 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) in the ionic liquid 1‐ethyl‐3‐methyl imidazolium chloride does not depend on the oxidation state of chromium. Nevertheless, CrIII exhibits higher activity and selectivity to HMF than CrII. Anhydrous CrCl2 and CrCl3?6 H2O readily catalyze glucose dehydration with HMF yields of 60 and 72 %, respectively, after 3 h. Anhydrous CrCl3 has a lower activity, because it only slowly dissolves in the reaction mixture. The transformation of glucose to HMF involves the formation of fructose as an intermediate. The exceptional catalytic performance of the chromium catalysts is explained by their unique ability to catalyze glucose to fructose isomerization and fructose to HMF dehydration with high selectivity. Side reactions leading to humins by means of condensation reactions take predominantly place during fructose dehydration. The higher HMF selectivity for CrIII is tentatively explained by the higher activity in fructose dehydration compared to CrII. This limits the concentration of intermediates that are involved in bimolecular condensation reactions. Model DFT calculations indicate a substantially lower activation barrier for glucose isomerization by CrIII compared to CrII. Qualitatively, glucose isomerization follows a similar mechanism for CrII and CrIII. The mechanism involves ring opening of D ‐glucopyranose coordinated to a single Cr ion, followed by a transient self‐organization of catalytic chromium complexes that promotes the rate‐determining hydrogen‐shift step.  相似文献

The adsorption properties of complexes of chitosan with copper and zinc chlorides and copper sulfate with respect to n-alkanes (C6H14-C9H20) and n-alcohols (CH3OH-C3H7OH) were investigated by means inverse gas chromatography in the Henry region. It was found that the capability of the chitosan complexes for dispersion interaction is somewhat less pronounced in comparison with the initial chitosan. It was shown that complexation give rises to more ordered supramolecular structures, which make for an increase in the adsorption capacity of complexes with respect to n-alcohols. The small adsorption values measured were explained by the interaction of the n-alcohols only with weakly specific OH groups, since the NH2 group is inaccessible because of its being involved in the coordination bonding with the metal ion.  相似文献

The current efficiency for the electrogeneration of chromium(II) for use as a coulometric titrant was studied for several supporting electrolytes. With a mercury cathode and a 0.1 M chromic sulfate-0.1 M potassium chloride medium, 0.8 to 2.8 mg of copper (II) in 110 ml of solution can be titrated using potentiometric end-point detection.  相似文献

Acid-base properties of hydrazones derived from 8-hydrazinoquinoline and substituted salicylaldehydes were studied. Under the experimental conditions, only the first step of ionization of the hydrazones is realized. The ionization constants were calculated quantum-chemically. Copper(II) complexes of these hydrazones, (HL)Cu(X)(CH3OH)n, were isolated (HL? is the monodeprotonated form of hydrazones, and X? is the acid residue). According to the data of elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, conductometry, and magnetochemistry, the majority of the complexes have a binuclear structure. The copper(II) ions in the dimeric complex show antiferromagnetic exchange coupling. The ionization constants of the hydrazones and the exchange parameters strongly depend on the substituent in the salicylaldehyde moiety.  相似文献

The new Cu(II) and Cd(II) complexes of the biologically relevant ligand 2-hydroxymethylbenzimidazole: [CdL2(NO3)2] 1, ([CuL2(NO3)](NO3)(H2O) 2, [CdL3](NO3)2L(EtOH)0.253, mer-[CuL3](NO3)2(H2O)(i-PrOH) 4 have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, UV–Vis, IR, Raman, EPR, NMR, X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements. X-ray studies have confirmed a bidentate fashion of coordination of the 2-CH2OHBIm to the Cd(II) as well to Cu(II) ions. This results in the formulation of a five-membered chelate ring in which both N(imidazole) and O(hydroxymethyl) donors of ligand are involved. A comparison of Cu(II) 4 and Cd(II) 3 model complexes shows that both metals may form complexes which exhibit identical structures (distorted octahedral) forming chromophores of the MN3O3 type. On the contrary, the polyhedra of metal complexes containing two ligands are different. The copper complex 2 is a five-coordinated with tetragonal pyramid as coordination polyhedron (CuN2O3) but cadmium forms an eight-coordinated (CdN2O6) complex 1. Weak C–H?π type interactions which were extracted from X-ray data of 1 were confirmed by the 13C NMR method. The IR data indicated that Cd(II) is a considerably better acceptor (Lewis acid) than Cu(II) ion for the N, O-donor ligand. The similarities and differences revealed in the coordination behaviour of Cu(II) and Cd(II) towards N, O-donor ligand should be treated as a test on possibility of the copper(II) ions to be displaced by cadmium(II), for example, in the intracellular sites.  相似文献

The results of static magnetic susceptibility studies of spacer-armed dinuclear copper(II) complexes with dicarboxylic acid acylhydrazones are described. Weak exchange coupling between paramagnetic centers has been detected with an exchange parameter value of −2J ∼ 1–7 cm−1. Short intermolecular contacts give rise to additional weak antiferromagnetic exchange coupling between copper cations comparable in terms of energy with superexchange inside the dinuclear complex (−zJ′ ∼ 0.6–5.0 cm−1).  相似文献

Mononuclear copper(II) complexes of a family of pyridylmethylamide ligands HL, HLMe, HLPh, HLMe3 and HLPh3, [HL = N-(2-pyridylmethyl)acetamide; HLMe = N-(2-pyridylmethyl)propionamide; HLPh = 2-phenyl-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)acetamide; HLMe3 = 2,2-dimethyl-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)propionamide; HLPh3 = 2,2,2-triphenyl-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)acetamide], were synthesized and characterized. The reaction of copper(II) salts with the pyridylmethylamide ligands yields complexes [Cu(HL)2(OTf)2] (1), [Cu(HLMe)2](ClO4)2 (2), [Cu(HL)2Cl]2[CuCl4] (3), [Cu(HLMe3)2(THF)](OTf)2 (4), [Cu(HLMe3)2(H2O)](ClO4)2 (5a and 5b), [Cu(HLPh3)2(H2O)](ClO4)2 (6), [Cu(HL)(2,2′-bipy)(H2O)](ClO4)2 (7), and [Cu(HLPh)(2,2′-bipy)(H2O)](ClO4)2 (8). All complexes were fully characterized, and the X-ray structures vary from four-coordinate square-planar, to five-coordinate square-pyramidal or trigonal-bipyramidal. The neutral ligands coordinate via the pyridyl N atom and carbonyl O atom in a bidentate fashion. The spectroscopic properties are typical of mononuclear copper(II) species with similar ligand sets, and are consistent their X-ray structures.  相似文献

X-band electron spin resonance (ESR) and UV-vis spectra of a homobinuclear [(Bipy)2Cu-E-Im-Cu(Bipy)2](BF4)3 and a heterobinuclear [(Bipy)2Cu-E-Im-Zn(Bipy)2](BF4)3 complexes, E-Im=2-ethylimidazolate ion have been described as possible models for superoxide dismutase (SOD). Magnetic moment and ESR spectral measurements of the homobinuclear complex have shown an antiferromagnetic exchange interaction. From pH-dependent ESR and UV-vis spectral measurements studies, these complexes have been found to be stable over 8.5-10.5 pH range. These complexes catalyze the dismutation of superoxide (O2-) at biological pH. All the observations indicate that these complexes act as good possible models for superoxide dismutase.  相似文献

Novel complexes of the type [CuL2]3[Cr(NCS)6]2·xH2O (L = 2,2-bipyridine (bpy), x = 0; L = o-phenanthroline (phen), x = 1), [Cu(dien)]3[Cr(NCS)6]2·3H2O (dien=diethylenetriamine) or [Ni(phen)2]3[Cr(NCS)6]2· 2H2O have been prepared and studied by elemental analyses, i.r. spectra and magnetic measurements. Some of the complexes have been characterized by temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibilities, and weak antiferromagnetic exchange interaction was found for [Cu-(phen)2]3[Cr(NCS)6]2·H2O and [Ni(phen)2]3[Cr(NCS)6]2· 2H2O. Physico-chemical studies account for the polymeric structure, with thiocyanate bridges between Cu or octahedral Ni and octahedral Cr (chromophore CrN6).  相似文献

Cobalt(II), nickel(II), and copper(II) (1, 2, and 3) complexes of the dianionic form of the bis(phenolate) ligand N,N-bis(3,4-dimethyl-2-hydroxybenzyl)-N',N'-dimethylethylenediamine (H2L) have been synthesized by electrochemical oxidation of the appropriate metal in an acetonitrile solution of the ligand. When copper is used as the anode, the addition of 1,10-phenanthroline to the electrolytic phase gave rise to a different compound [CuL]2.2CH3CN (4). The compounds [CoL]2.2CH3CN (1), [Ni2L2(H2O)].H2O (2), [CuL]2.3H2O (3), and [CuL]2.2CH3CN (4) were characterized by microanalysis, IR, electronic spectroscopy, FAB mass spectrometry, magnetic measurements and by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structures show that the complexes have a dinuclear structure. In compounds 1, 3, and 4, two metal ions are coordinated by the two amine nitrogens and the two phenol oxygen atoms of a deprotonated pendant phenol ligand, with one phenolic oxygen atom from ligand acting as a bridge. In compounds 1 and 3, each metal center has a geometry that is closest to trigonal bipyramidal. Magnetic susceptibility data for both compounds show an antiferromagnetic coupling with 2J = -15 cm(-1) for the cobalt(II) complex and a strong antiferromagnetic coupling with 2J = -654 cm(-1) for the copper(II) complex. However, in 4 the geometry around the metal is closer to square pyramidal and the compound shows a lower antiferromagnetic coupling (2J = -90 cm(-1)) than in 3. The nickel atoms in the dimeric compound 2 are hexacoordinate. The NiN2O4 chromophore has a highly distorted octahedral geometry. In this structure, a dianionic ligand binds to one nickel through the two amine nitrogen atoms and the two oxygen atoms and to an adjacent nickel via one of these oxygen atoms. The nickel atoms are linked through a triple oxygen bridge involving two phenolic oxygens, each from a different ligand, and an oxygen atom from a water molecule. The two nickel ions in 2 are ferromagnetically coupled with 2J = 19.8 cm(-1).  相似文献

Summary Complexes of chromium(II) with diphenylphosphinate, Cr(O2PPh2)2 · H2O, diphenylphosphate Cr{O2P(OPh)2} · 1/2H2O, phenylphosphinate, Cr(O2PHPh)2 · 2H2O, phenyl-phosphonate, Cr(O3PPh) · H2O, and monofluorophosphate, Cr{O2P(OH)F}2 · H2O, are high-spin. From their reflectance spectra and antiferromagnetic behaviour the last three are believed to be three-dimensional polymers with R2PO 2 bridges in which some O atoms bridge two Cr atoms, leading to magnetic interaction. The other complexes show only weak magnetic interaction, and the reflectance spectra of Cr(O2PPh2)2 and its hydrate indicate that both contain planar CrO4 units. It is therefore believed to be a linear polymer with the Cr atoms well separated by double R2PO 2 bridges. The reflectance spectrum of Cr{O2P(OPh)2}2 suggests additional weak coordination of O atoms from adjacent polymer chains.  相似文献

Ketoconazole, as a ligand, reacts quantitatively with copper(II) and cobalt(II) to form blue-colored, stable complexes in dichloromethane. These complexes can be spectrophotometrically measured at 720 and 612.5 nm in the case of Cu(II) or Co(II), respectively. Different factors affecting the reaction such as pH, reagent concentration, solvent effect, and time were studied. By using Job's method of continuous variation, the stoichiometry of the reaction was found to be in the ratio of 1:2, metal:drug, with Cu(II) and Co(II). The stability of the complexes formed was also studied. The reaction products were isolated for further investigation. The complexes have apparent molar absorptivities of 35.36 +/- 1.95 and 59.62 +/- 1.87 for Cu(II) and Co(II), respectively. Suggested procedures based on the stoichiometric reaction were successfully applied to the analysis of the pure drug and its pharmaceutical formulations. The validity of the procedures was further ascertained by the method of standard additions. The developed method was found to be simple, accurate, and precise when compared with the official method of the British Pharmacopoeia.  相似文献

Abstract

Eight new copper compounds with mesogenic properties from the series of the bis{1-[4-trans-(4-alkylcyclohexy1)phenyl]-alkylpropane-1,3-dionato} copper(II) complexes have been prepared. The thermal behaviour of these compounds was investigated by means of polarizing microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (D.S.C.) measurements. The mesophase, which could be found in most of them, is of the monotropic nematic type. This has been confirmed by miscibility experiments. The physical data of a binary mixture with an enantiotropic mesophase are also presented. In addition the crystal structures of two of the compounds are reported.  相似文献
