A spherical cap radiator is one of the important parts of
an underwater wide-beam imaging system. The back radiation of a
traditional spherical cap radiator, which is composed of a vibrating
cap and a rigid baffle, is strong and its far-field directivity
function may fluctuate in big amplitude in the vicinity of the polar
axis. These shortcomings complicate the processing of the reflective
waves received for imaging the targets. In this study, the back
radiation is weakened by adding an acoustic soft material belt
between the vibrating cap and the rigid baffle. And the fluctuation
mentioned above is lowered remarkably by dividing the spherical cap
radiator into many annuluses and a relatively smaller spherical cap,
and by controlling the phase retardations of all elements
appropriately. Furthermore, the numerical experiments are carried
out by the finite element method (FEM) to prove the validity of the

An exact analysis is carried out to study interaction of a time-harmonic plane progressive sound field with a radially inhomogeneous thick-walled elastic isotropic spherical shell suspended in and filled with compressible ideal fluid mediums. Using the laminated approximation method, a modal state equation with variable coefficients is set up in terms of appropriate displacement and stress functions and their spherical harmonics. Taylor’s expansion theorem is then employed to obtain the solution to the modal state equation ultimately leading to calculation of a global transfer matrix. Numerical example is given for a water-submerged/air-filled Aluminum/Zirconia elastic spherical sandwich shell containing a functionally graded interlayer and subjected to an incident progressive plane sound wave. The mechanical properties of the interlayer are assumed to vary smoothly and continuously across the thickness with the change of volume concentration of its constituents. The effect of incident wave frequency, thickness and compositional gradient of the interlayer on the form function amplitude and the average radiation force acting on the composite shell are examined. Limiting cases are considered and fair agreements with well-known solutions are established. 相似文献

A focused partially coherent flattened vortex beam used to trap a Rayleigh dielectric spherical particle with relative refractive index p < 1 is studied. The dependence of radiation forces (RFs) on the beam order N, waist width w0, correlation length σ0, particle radius a and focal length f is analyzed and illustrated by numerical examples. By a suitable choice of N, w0, σ0 and f a stable trap of the Rayleigh particle is achievable. In particular, there exist critical values w0,c, σ0,c for a partially coherent flattened vortex beam the particle can be trapped by the beam with w0 less than w0,c and σ0 larger than σ0,c. In this paper we present a novel technique for acoustic field imaging. This technique is based on reflection of a collimated laser beam at the free surface of a liquid. The reflected beam becomes phase modulated by the acoustic wave as in acoustical holographic systems. We do not use a reference acoustical beam for holographic reconstruction but we observe this phase modulation using dark-field techniques. It gives a measurement of the acoustic field power as a function of the position. The authors have built an optical imaging system and carried out experiments with piezocomposite transducers. The technique presented in this work is able to give fast quantitative information about the performance of individual ceramic rods of the piezocomposite. 相似文献

A new technique is presented to improve the performance of the discrete ordinates method when solving the coupled conduction-radiation problems in spherical and cylindrical media. In this approach the angular derivative term of the discretized one-dimensional radiative transfer equation is derived from an expansion of the radiative intensity on the basis of Chebyshev polynomials. The set of resulting differential equations, obtained by the application of the SN method, is numerically solved using the boundary value problem with the finite difference algorithm. Results are presented for the different independent parameters. Numerical results obtained using the Chebyshev transform method compare well with the benchmark approximate solutions. Moreover, the new technique can easily be applied to higher-order SN calculations. 相似文献

The surface electric current of the sea surface and the first-order scattering field from the spherical target were obtained
by employing Physical Optics method and Mie theory, respectively. The backscattering field of the time-evolving sea surface
was calculated by using Kirchhoff Approximation. Meanwhile, by taking the advantage of a newly developed technique that utilizes
the reciprocity theorem, the difficulty in formulating the secondary coupling scattering fields from the spherical target
above the sea surface was reduced. The dependence of the secondary coupling backscattering field on the size and the position
of the spherical target was discussed, and the characteristic of the Doppler spectrum of the composite backscattering field
with different incident angles was analyzed in detail.

The present paper presents acoustic and thermal performance evaluations carried out in low-cost houses located at the Vila Tecnológica de Curitiba (Technological Village of Curitiba), in Curitiba, Brazil. Two dwellings were evaluated, which were built according to different building systems: (1) the building system Batistella, built with pre-fabricated modules and elements, composed of reforestation wood and (2) the building system Constroyer, composed of expanded polystyrene (EPS) plates, framed in a welded iron mesh, with structural plastering. For the thermal performance evaluation, it was verified that the materials used in the envelope were quite significant for controlling heat gains and losses through the building elements as well as for regulating heat storage. In this case, the system with highest thermal inertia presented better results. Results showed that both building systems had poor acoustic performance, characterized by a low weighted apparent sound reduction index of the façade dB. The German DIN 4109 Norm recommends a minimum of dB. The weighted apparent sound reduction index measured for internal walls was dB and dB, for the building systems Battistela and Constroyer, respectively. The minimum required by German regulation VDI 4100 is dB, for internal walls. 相似文献

A new method for the solution of the radiative transfer equation in spherical media based on a modified discrete ordinates method is extended to study radiative, conductive and convective heat transfer in a semi-transparent scattering porous medium. The set of differential equations is solved using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. Various results are obtained for the case of combined radiative and conductive heat transfer, as well as for the interaction of those modes with convection. The effects of some radiative properties of the medium on the heat transfer rate are examined. 相似文献

The reaction of benzenesulfenic acid, generated in situ by thermal decomposition of 3‐(phenylsulfinyl)propanenitrile, with monosubstituted acetylenes was experimentally and theoretically investigated at the DFT level using the MPW1B95 density functional. A computational model based on the Hard Soft Acid Base (HSAB) principle was evaluated for its ability to qualitatively and quantitatively predict the regioselectivity, while kinetics and thermodynamics of the reaction were studied through the analysis of the reaction paths leading to the possible regioisomers. This paper presented a numerical approach to solving the problem of a flat-ended punch in contact with a half-space matrix embedded with multiple three dimensional arbitrary-shaped inhomogeneities.Based on the semi-analytical method(SAM)and the equivalent inclusion method,numerical procedures were developed and the effects of inclusion shape and distribution were analyzed.Fast Fourier transform technique was implemented to accelerate the calculation of surface deformation and subsurface stress.Interactions of inter-inclusions and inclusion-matrix were taken into account.Numerical results showed the presence of inhomogeneities(i.e.,microstructures in solids)indeed had a great effect on local contact pressure and a strong disturbance to the subsurface stress field in the vicinity of inclusions.The effects were dependent on the shape and distribution of inclusions and inter-inclusion interactions.The physical significance of this study is to provide an insight into the relation between the material microstructure and its response to the external load,and the solution approach and procedures may find useful applications,for example,the analysis of fatigue and crack propagation for composite materials,prediction of stress field in solids containing material defects,and study of the mechanism of chemical-mechanical polish(CMP)for inhomogeneous materials,etc. 相似文献

The partial wave series for the scattering of a high-order Bessel beam (HOBB) of acoustic quasi-standing waves by an air bubble
and fluid spheres immersed in water and centered on the axis of the beam is applied to the calculation of the acoustic radiation
force. A HOBB refers to a type of beam having an axial amplitude null and an azimuthal phase gradient. Radiation force examples
obtained through numerical evaluation of the radiation force function are computed for an air bubble, a hexane, a red blood
and mercury fluid spheres in water. The examples were selected to illustrate conditions having progressive, standing and quasi-standing
waves with appropriate selection of the waves’ amplitude ratio. An especially noteworthy result is the lack of a specific

The large-strain problem on the evolution of distribution of the components of stress tensor and plastic strain in a sample under compression and torsion in a rotational anvil cell was formulated and studied in detail using the FEM. Results are obtained for compression by different axial forces and torsion under two different constant axial forces. The effects of redistribution of the friction radial and torsional stresses and the load on a sample and gasket on the resultant fields are elucidated. Small pressure self-multiplication effect is revealed during torsion after compression below some critical force, and significant heterogeneity of all fields is found. Strong shear strain localization near the contact surface between sample and anvil is quantified. Results are compared with the simplified solution and available experiments. The results obtained are important for the determination of elastic and plastic properties of materials under high pressure and for the interpretation of kinetics of strain-induced phase transformations and chemical reactions. 相似文献
