本文总结了用显微激光分析仪对一般纤维增强复合材料进行透射式光弹性研究的近期工作。针对纤维复合材料违反传统光弹理论的偏振光学行为,讨论了纤维、基体的双折射率不同以及由纤维与基体的界面两侧出射的光在Airy斑重叠区发生干涉等问题,从更一般的角度探讨了最近的文章中所提出的新光弹公式中所含两个滞后量的存在性。   相似文献

ABSTRACT

The dependence of the solution of boundary-value problems of structural mechanics on design variables that specify material properties and distribution is characterized. Prototype problems treated include beams, plates, and plane elastic solids. Symmetry and positive definiteness properties of the elliptic differential operators that govern system response are used to show that their inverses, hence the displacement fields, are Frechet differentiable with respect to design variables. Formulas for the derivatives are given and used to obtain computable formulas for design sensitivity coefficients (first variation) of integrals that arise in optimal design formulations. The results establish an extension of the concept of “well-posed” problems of structural mechanics to include continuity (in fact, differentiability” of static structural response with respect to distributed design variables and design parameters  相似文献

A method of determining the dynamic stresses in vibrating cantilevered beams using photoelasticity is presented. The method uses the basic principles of photomechanics and the optic-stress laws. A high-intensity strobe light is timed with the frequency of vibration so that the beam image appears to be stationary. Data are recorded with a camera and analyzed to provide an experimental solution. The theoretical solution is derived from the Bernoulli-Euler equation of motion. Two basic types of beams were investigated, an aluminum beam coated with a birefringent material to simulate an actual structural member and a birefringent model that was dynamically similar to the aluminum beam. The feasibility of extending the technique to more complicated shapes is suggested by this investigation. The experimental results and feasibility of the concept are verified by close correlation with the analytical solution.  相似文献

The integro-partial differential equations governing the dynamic behavior of viscoelastic plates taking account of higher-order shear effects and finite deformations are presented. From the matrix formulas of differential quadrature, the special matrix product and the domain decoupled technique presented in this work, the nonlinear governing equations are converted into an explicit matrix form in the spatial domain. The dynamic behaviors of viscoelastic plates are numerically analyzed by introducing new variables in the time domain. The methods in nonlinear dynamics are synthetically applied to reveal plenty and complex dynamical phenomena of viscoelastic plates. The numerical convergence and comparison studies are carried out to validate the present solutions. At the same time, the influences of load and material parameters on dynamic behaviors are investigated. One can see that the system will enter into the chaotic state with a paroxysm form or quasi-periodic bifurcation with changing of parameters.  相似文献

This paper deals with the homogenization of a class of highly oscillating monotonic operators which are uniformly elliptic but non-uniformly bounded. We determine an asymptotic barrier below which we obtain a classical behaviour and above which nonlocal effects appear. We also prove that this condition is optimal in the case of a fibre-reinforced medium.  相似文献

Homogenization techniques were used by Duvaut (1976,1978) in asymptotic analyse of 3-dimensional periodic continuum problems and periodic von Kármán plates.In this paper we homogenize Budiansky-Sanders linear, elastic shells with material parameters rapidly oscillating on the shell surface. We obtain a homogenized shell model which is elliptic and depends on explicitly calculated effective material parameters. We show that the solution of the periodic shell model converges weakly to the solution of the homogenized model when the period tends to zero.  相似文献

The principle of polarization of scattered light is applied to determine the principal stresses in the interior of a model. On the basis of the theorem which states that “a series of birefringents is equivalent to a unique birefringent, followed by a medium endowed with rotational power,” it can be assumed that, if the characteristics of a series of birefringents are known, it is possible to find the characteristics of an interior section. The measurement of the characteristics of a birefringent (eventually following a medium endowed with rotational power) can be accomplished by means of the new methods, making use of a photomultiplier, a constant-speed rotating analyzer and a servomechanism These new methods of measurement are applicable to two-dimensional photoelasticity.  相似文献

摘要:本文基于复变函数与保角映射法,采用平板弯曲振动精确化方程[9],对含任意形开孔平板中弹性波散射与动应力集中问题进行了研究。利用正交函数展开的方法将待解的问题归结为对一组无穷代数方程组的求解。作为算例,计算了自由边界条件下圆孔和椭圆孔的动弯矩集中系数的数值结果,并对板厚与孔径比对动弯矩分布的影响做了分析研究。结果表明:入射波数、平板厚度和椭圆偏心率等参数对动弯矩的分布都有很大的影响。在较低频率和平板较薄的情况下,基于文献[9]的方程与基于Mindlin板的动弯矩结果在数值分布上是基本一致的;在较高频率和平板较厚的情况下,基于文献[9]的方程与基于Mindlin板的动弯矩结果在数值分布计算结果相差较大。由于文献[9]给出的平板振动精确化方程是在没有任何工程假设条件下得到的,因此本文的分析计算结果更精确一些。  相似文献

A general solution for 3D Stokes flow is given which is different from, and more compact than the existing ones and more compact than them in that it involves only two scalar harmonic functions. The general solution deduced is combined with the potential theory method to study the Stokes flow induced by a rigid plate of arbitrary shape translating along the direction normal to it in an unbounded fluid.The boundary integral equation governing this problem is derived. When the plate is elliptic, exact analytical results are obtained not only for the drag force but also for the velocity distributions. These results include and complete the ones available for a circular plate. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the main results for circular and elliptic plates. In particular, the elliptic eccentricity of a plate is shown to exhibit significant influences.  相似文献

The elastic field of an elliptic nano inhomogeneity embedded in an infinite matrix under anti-plane shear is studied with the complex variable method. The interface stress effects of the nano inhomogeneity are accounted for with the Gurtin–Murdoch model. The conformal mapping method is then applied to solve the formulated boundary value problem. The obtained numerical results are compared with the existing closed form solutions for a circular nano inhomogeneity and a traditional elliptic inhomogeneity under anti-plane. It shows that the proposed semi-analytic method is effective and accurate. The stress fields inside the inhomogeneity and matrix are then systematically studied for different interfacial and geometrical parameters. It is found that the stress field inside the elliptic nano inhomogeneity is no longer uniform due to the interface effects. The shear stress distributions inside the inhomogeneity and matrix are size dependent when the size of the inhomogeneity is on the order of nanometers. The numerical results also show that the interface effects are highly influenced by the local curvature of the interface. The elastic field around an elliptic nano hole is also investigated in this paper. It is found that the traction free boundary condition breaks down at the elliptic nano hole surface. As the aspect ratio of the elliptic hole increases, it can be seen as a Mode-III blunt crack. Even for long blunt cracks, the surface effects can still be significant around the blunt crack tip. Finally, the equivalence between the uniform eigenstrain inside the inhomogeneity and the remote loading is discussed.  相似文献

本文采用平板弯曲波动理论及复变函数方法,对平板开孔弹性波的散射及动应力集中问题进行了分析研究,得到了传播急剧记波时此种平板弯曲波动问题的分析解。若同时采用保角射技术,就为主解平板任意形状开孔弹性波的散射及动应力集中问题提供了一种统一规范的方法。作为算例,本文给出了平板开圆孔和椭圆孔附近的动应力集中系数的数值结果,并对其进行了讨论。  相似文献

In photoelastic stress analysis, a need sometimes exists for a birefringent material in which the experimenter has the ability to vary its mechanical or elastic properties. It was the intent of this investigation to produce a homogeneous, isotropic solid with variable mechanical properties and which was suitable for photoelastic use. This goal is accomplished through the fabrication of a discontinuous composite where the birefringent constitutents have matched indices of refraction in the unstressed state. The constituents of this composite are solid-glass microspheres embedded in a polyester matrix. Three theories are formulated to define the stress-induced birefringent phenomena found in composites of this nature. Conventional photoelastic techniques were employed to produce data appropriate for comparison to the predictions of these theories.  相似文献

A compact optical device, which is a combination of a polariscope and a shearing interferometer (PSI), is described for mapping stress fields in bimaterial systems. The PSI device uses commercially available wave plates, and a calcite crystal for beam duplicating. It can operate in a variety of modes, including as a circular polariscope and as a shearing interferometer. In its polariscope mode, it can be used on birefringent materials such as Homolite and epoxy; in its shearing mode, it can be used on optically isotropic materials such as polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and glass. As an example, the device is used to obtain full-field maps of stress fields in the vicinity of an interfacial crack in an epoxy-PMMA bimaterial plate.  相似文献

The propagation of oscillatory waves through periodic elastic composites has been analysed on the basis of the Floquet theory. This leads to self-adjoint differential equation systems which it was proved convenient to solve by variational methods. Many composites, such as the light-weight high-strength boron-epoxy material, consist of strong reinforcing components in a plastic matrix. The latter can exhibit viscoelastic properties which can have a significant influence on wave propagation characteristics. Replacement of the elastic constant by the viscoelastic complex modulus changes the mathematical structure so that the differential equation system is no longer self-adjoint. However, a modification of the variational principles is suggested which retains formal self-adjointness, and yields variational principles which contain additional boundary terms. These are applied to the determination of wave speeds and mode shapes for a laminated composite made of homogeneous elastic reinforcing plates in a homogeneous viscoelastic matrix for plane waves propagating normally to the reinforcing plates. These results agree well with the exact solution which can be evaluated in this simple case. The variational principles permit solutions for periodic, but otherwise arbitrary variation of material properties.  相似文献

The elliptic blending approach is used in order to modify an Explicit Algebraic Reynolds Stress Model so as to reproduce the correct near wall behaviour of the turbulent stresses. The anisotropy stress tensor is expressed as a linear combination of tensor bases whose coefficients are sensitised to the non-local wall-blocking effect through the elliptic blending parameter γ. This parameter is obtained from a separate elliptic equation. The model does not use the distance from the wall thus it can be easily applied to complex geometries. It is validated against detailed DNS data for mean and turbulence quantities for the case of flow and heat transfer between parallel flat plates at three Reynolds numbers as well as against experimental data for the flow in a backward facing step at Re H = 28,000. The comparison with DNS results or experiments is quite satisfactory and shows the validity of the approach.  相似文献
