N-phenylated aromatic polyureas were synthesized by the polyaddition of dianilino compounds to aromatic diisocyanates in sym-tetrachloroethane at around 100°C. Factors that influence the reaction, such as monomer concentration, reaction solvent, catalyst, temperature, and time, were studied to optimize the conditions for the preparation of high molecular weight polymers. Compared with the analogous unsubstituted aromatic polyureas, the N-phenylated polyureas were almost amorphous and soluble in a variety of solvents and had low glass transition temperatures. Some of the polymers could be cast into transparent flexible films from chloroform solutions.  相似文献

New fluorine-containing aromatic polyamides with inherent viscosities of 0.4–1.8 dL/g were prepared by the low temperature solution polycondensation of tetrafluoroisophthaloyl and tetrafluoroterephthaloyl chlorides with N,N′-bis(trimethylsilyl)-substituted aromatic diamines. The aromatic polyperfluoroisophthalamides were amorphous polymers with glass transition temperatures around 280°C, whereas the polyperfluoroterephthalamides were crystalline. Most of these aromatic polyamides were soluble in organic solvents, and began to decompose around 330°C in air or nitrogen atmosphere.  相似文献

The polymerization of N,N′-bis(trimethylsilyl)-substituted aromatic diamines with 4-chloroformylphthalic anhydride in various solvents at a temperature range between 10 and 70°C afforded polyamide-amic acid trimethylsilyl esters having inherent viscosities of 0.8–1.4 dL/g. Transparent and flexible films of the silylated precursor polymers were obtained by casting directly from the polymer solutions. Desilylation of the silylated polymers with methanol resulted in the formation of the corresponding polyamide-amic acids. Subsequent thermal imidization of the silylated precursor polymers with the elimination of trimethylsilanol afforded yellow, transparent, and tough films of the aromatic polyamide-imides. The thermal conversion of the silylated precursor polymer to polyamide-imide proceeded almost as rapidly as that of the corresponding polyamide-amic acid prepared by a conventional method from the parent aromatic diamine and 4-chloroformylphthalic anhydride.  相似文献

NovelN-phenylated aromatic polyureas having inherent viscosities of 0.13–0.35 dL/g were synthesized by the solution polycondensation of N,N′-dichloroformyl-p-dianilinobenzene with N,N′-bistrimethylsilyl derivatives of bis(4-aminophenyl)ether, piperazine, and p-dianilinobenzene in sulfolane. Except the polyurea containing piperazine unit, the other polyureas were amorphous and readily soluble in a variety of organic solvents such as tetrahydrofuran. The polyurea derived from p-dianilinobenzene, which has no vulnerable hydrogen on the urea linkage, did not melt below 350°C and was stable up to 450°C in air.  相似文献

Aromatic polyamides having inherent viscosities up to 1.8 dL/g were synthesized either by the direct polycondensation of 2,2′-bibenzoic acid with various aromatic diamines or by the low temperature solution polycondensation of 2,2′-bibenzoyl chloride with aromatic diamines. All the aromatic polyamides were amorphous and soluble in a variety of organic solvents including N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc), N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, dimethyl sulfoxide, m-cresol, and pyridine. Transparent and flexible films of these polymers could be cast from the DMAc solutions. These aromatic polymides had glass transition temperatures in the range of 226-306deg;C and began to lose weight around 350°C in air.  相似文献

Novel, soluble aromatic polyamides and copolyamides containing tetraphenylethylene units were prepared by the low temperature solution polycondensation of 1,1-bis(4-aminophenyl)-2,2-diphenylethylene and aromatic diamines with various aromatic diacid chlorides. Highmolecular-weight polyamides having inherent viscosities of 0.6–1.5 dL/g and number-average molecular weight above 21000 were obtained quantitatively. These polymers were readily soluble in various solvents such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc), and dimethyl sulfoxide and gave pale yellow, transparent, flexible films by casting from DMAc solution. The polymers had glass transition temperatures between 290 and 340°C, and started to lose weight around 400°C, with 10% weight loss being recorded at about 470°C in air.  相似文献

New aromatic diamines containing phenyl-pendant thiazole units were synthesized in three steps starting from p-nitrobenzyl phenyl ketone. Novel aromatic polyamides containing phenyl-pendant thiazole units were prepared by the low-temperature solution polyconden-sation of 1,4- (or 1.3-) bis[5-(p-aminophenyl)-4-phenyl-2-thiazolyl] benzene with various aromatic dicarboxylic acid chlorides in N,N-dimethylacetamide. High molecular weight polyamides having inherent viscosities of 0.5–3.0 dL/g were obtained quantitatively. The polythiazole-amides with m-phenylene, 4,4′-oxydiphenylene, and 4,4′-sulfonyldiphenylene units were soluble in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, N,N-dimethylacetamide, and pyridine, and gave transparent flexible films by casting from the solutions. These organic solvent-soluble polyamides displayed prominent glass transition temperatures (Tg) between 257 and 325°C. On the other hand, the polythiazole-amides with p-phenylene and 4,4′-biphenylene units were insoluble in most organic solvents, and had no observed Tg. All the polythiazole-amides started to decompose at about 400°C with 10% weight loss being recorded at 450–525°C in air. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

A new aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydride having a crank and twisted noncoplannar structure, 2,2′-bis(3,4-dicarboxyphenoxy)biphenyl dianhydride, was synthesized by the reaction of 4-nitrophthalonitrile with biphenyl-2,2′-diol, followed by hydrolysis and cyclodehydration. The biphenyl-2,2′-diyl-containing aromatic polyimides having inherent viscosities up to 0.66 dL/g were obtained by the conventional two-step procedure starting from the dianhydride monomer and various aromatic diamines. Most of the polyimides were readily soluble in amide-type solvents such as N,N-dimethylacetamide and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. The aromatic polyimides had glass transition temperatures in the range of 205–242°C, and began to lose weight around 415°C, with 10% weight loss being recorded at about 500°C in air. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Aromatic poly(o-hydroxy amide)s having inherent viscosities of 0.6–2.2 dL/g were readily synthesized by the low-temperature solution polycondensation of N,N′,O-tris(trimethylsilyl)-substituted 2,4-diaminophenol with aromatic dicarboxylic acid chlorides in various organic solvents. The viscosity values were much higher than those of the polymers obtained by a conventional method using parent 2,4-diaminophenol. Subsequent thermal cyclodehydration of the poly(o-hydroxy amide)s at 280°C under vacuum afforded the corresponding aromatic polyamide-benzoxazoles. Most of the poly(o-hydroxy amide)s dissolved readily in amide-type solvents, whereas the polyamide-benzoxazoles were quite insoluble in organic solvents. The polyamide-benzoxazoles, which gave yellow, transparent, and tough films, had glass transition temperatures of 260–300°C and were stable up to 400°C in air.  相似文献

Aromatic polyamides (aramids) having pendant t-butyl group were synthesized by the direct polycondensation of 5-t-butylisophthalic acid with various aromatic diamines in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) using triphenyl phosphite and pyridine as condensing agents. The aramids having inherent viscosities of 0.6–2.4 dL/g were obtained in quantitative yields. These polymers were readily soluble in various solvents such as NMP,N,N-dimethylacetamide, dimethyl sulfoxide, and pyridine, and gave transparent, tough and flexible films by casting from the NMP solutions. The aramids had glass transition temperatures between 250 and 330°C, and started to lose weight around 350°C, with 10% weight loss being recorded at about 450°C in air.  相似文献

A new aromatic dicarboxylic acid, 1,4-bis (p-carboxyphenoxy)naphthyl ( 3 ), was synthesized by the reaction of p-fluorobenzonitrile with 1,4-naphthalenediol, followed by hydrolysis. Aromatic polyamides having inherent viscosities of 1.27–2.22 dL/g were prepared by the triphenyl phosphite activated polycondensation of diacid 3 with various aromatic diamines. Most of the resulting polymers showed an amorphous nature and were readily soluble in a variety of organic solvents including N,N-dimethyl-acetamide (DMAc), N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), and m-cresol. Transparent, tough, and flexible films of these polymers could be cast from the DMAc or NMP solutions. The cast films had tensile strengths ranging from 64–104 MPa, elongations-at-break from 6 to 10%, and initial moduli from 1.52 to 2.14 GPa. These polyamides had glass transition temperatures in the range of 195 to 240°C. Almost all polymers were thermally stable up to 400°C, with 10% weight loss being recorded above 480°C in air and nitrogen atmospheres. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. New aromatic diamines having kink and crank structures, 2,2′-bis(p-aminophenoxy)biphenyl and 2,2′-bis(p-aminophenoxy)-1,1′-binaphthyl, were synthesized by the reaction of p-fluoronitrobenzene with biphenyl-2,2′-diol and 2,2′-dihydroxy-1,1′-binaphthyl, respectively, followed by catalytic reduction. Biphenyl-2,2′-diyl- and 1,1′-binaphthyl-2,2′-diyl-containing aromatic polyamides having inherent viscosities of 0.44–1.18 and 0.26–0.88 dL/g, respectively, were obtained either by the direct polycondensation or low-temperature solution polycondensation of the diamines with aromatic dicarboxylic acids (or diacid chlorides). These polymers were readily soluble in a variety of organic solvents including N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc), N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), dimethyl sulfoxide, m-cresol, and pyridine. Transparent, pale yellow, and flexible films of these polymers could be cast from the DMAc or NMP solutions. These aromatic polyamides containing biphenyl and binaphthyl units had glass transition temperatures in the range of 215–255 and 266–303°C, respectively. A new 3-trifluoromethyl-substituted triphenylamine-containing aromatic diacid monomer, N,N-bis(4-carboxyphenyl)-3-trifluoromethylaniline, was prepared by the substitution reaction of 3-trifluoromethylaniline with 4-fluorobenzonitrile, followed by alkaline hydrolysis of the dinitrile intermediate. Novel aromatic polyamides with 3-trifluoromethyl-substituted triphenylamine moieties were prepared from the diacid and various aromatic diamines via the direct phosphorylation polycondensation. All the polyamides were amorphous and readily soluble in many polar organic solvents such as N,N-dimethylacetamide and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, and could be solution-cast into transparent, tough, and flexible films with good mechanical properties. They exhibited good thermal stability with relatively high glass-transition temperatures (258–327°C), 10% weight-loss temperatures above 500°C, and char yields higher than 60% at 800°C in nitrogen. These polymers had low dielectric constants of 3.22–3.70 (100 Hz), low moisture absorption in the range of 1.75–2.58%, and high transparency with an ultraviolet–visible absorption cut-off wavelength in the 375–395 nm range. Cyclic voltammograms of the polyamide films cast onto an indium tin oxide coated glass substrate exhibited a reversible oxidation redox couple with oxidation half-wave potentials (E1/2) of 0.95–1.00 V vs. Ag/AgCl in an acetonitrile solution.  相似文献

New aromatic polyimides containing triphenylamine unit were prepared by two different methods, i.e., a conventional two-step method starting from 4,4′-diaminotriphenylamine and aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydrides and the one-step thioanhydride method starting from the aromatic diamine and aromatic tetracarboxylic dithioanhydrides. Both procedures yielded high-molecular-weight polyimides with inherent viscosities of 0.47–1.17 dL/g. Some of these polymers were soluble in organic solvents such as N,N-dimethylacetamide, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, m-cresol, and pyridine. All the polyimides afforded transparent, flexible, and tough films, and the color varied from pale yellow to dark red, depending markedly on the tetracarboxylic acid components. The glass transition temperatures (Tgs) of these polyimides were in the range of 287–331°C and the 10% weight loss temperatures were above 520°C in air. The polyimides prepared by the one-step method exhibited better solubility in organic solvents and had somewhat lower Tgs than the polymers prepared by a conventional two-step method.  相似文献

A general method for the preparation of aromatic poly (ether-sulfone-amide)s has been developed. Polymerization is based on the palladium-catalyzed polycondensation of aromatic dibromides containing ether sulfone structural units, aromatic diamines, and carbon monoxide. Reactions were carried out in N, N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc) in the presence of palladium catalyst, triphenylphosphine, and 1,8-diazabicyclo [5,4,0]–7–undecene (DBU), and gave a series of poly (ether-sulfone-amide)s with inherent viscosities up to 0.86 dL/g under mild conditions. The polymers were quite soluble in strong acids, dipolar aprotic solvents, and pyridine. Thermogravimetry of the polymers showed excellent thermal stability, indicating that 10% weight losses of the polymers were observed in the range above 470°C in air. The glass transition temperatures of the polymers were around 230°C, which are higher than those of poly (ether-sulfone) analogues. These polymers also showed the good tensile strengths and tensile modulus. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Novel aromatic polyimides containing tetraphenylpyrrole unit were synthesized from 3,4-bis(4-aminophenyl)-2,5-diphenylpyrrole and various aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydrides by the usual two-step procedure that included ring-opening polyaddition and subsequent thermal cyclodehydration. These polymers had inherent viscosities in the 0.20–0.65 dL/g range and were practically amorphous as shown by the X-ray diffraction studies. All the polyimides except for polypyromellitimide were easily soluble in a wide range of organic solvents such as o-chlorophenol, pyridine, 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidone, N,N-dimethylacetamide, and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone at room temperature. These polyimides had high glass transition temperatures of 302–359°C and exhibited 10% weight loss at temperatures above 510°C in nitrogen.  相似文献

A series of novel aromatic polyamides with pyrenylamine in the backbone were prepared from a newly synthesized dicarboxylic acid monomer, N,N‐di(4‐carboxyphenyl)‐1‐aminopyrene, and various aromatic diamines via the phosphorylation polyamidation technique. These polyamides were readily soluble in many organic solvents and could be solution‐cast into tough and amorphous films. They had useful levels of thermal stability with glass‐transition temperatures in the range of 276–342 °C and 10% weight loss temperatures in excess of 500 °C. The dilute N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP) solutions of these polymers exhibited fluorescence maxima around 455–540 nm with quantum yields up to 56.9%. The polyamides also showed remarkable solvatochromism of the emission spectra. Their films showed reversible electrochemical oxidation and reduction accompanied by strong color changes from colorless neutral state to purple oxidized state and to yellow reduced state. The polyamide 4g containing the pyrenylamine units in both diacid and diamine sides exhibited easily accessible p‐ and n‐doped states, together with multicolored electrochromic behaviors. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
