The dispersion properties of slow electromagnetic surface waves propagating across a constant external magnetic field and
along a plane plasma-metal interface at harmonics of the ion cyclotron frequency are studied. The motion of the plasma particles
is described by a Vlasov-Boltzmann kinetic equation. The effects of the plasma size, the dielectric permittivity of the transition
region between the plasma and metal, and the magnitude of the constant external magnetic field on the dispersion characteristics
of ion surface cyclotron waves are studied.

A study is made into the effect of the nonlinear mechanism of plasma electron heating on the dispersion properties of potential surface waves propagating along the interface between a metal and finite-pressure magnetoactive plasma. An external steady magnetic field is directed normally to the interface. Different mechanisms of electron energy loss are treated in a weak heating approximation. The energy balance equation is used to determine the spatial distribution of the plasma electron temperature under conditions of nonlocal heating. The effect of the plasma parameters on the nonlinear shift of the wavenumber and on the spatial damping factor of surface waves is investigated. The results obtained are valid for both semiconductor and gaseous plasmas. 相似文献

High-frequency surface magnetic polaritons of finite amplitude propagating along the interface between a ferrite and a nonlinear
insulator in a weakly nonuniform, shaft-shaped external magnetic field are investigated theoretically. The analysis is based
on employment of the variational method together with bilinear relations having the form of Lorentz’s lemma. It is shown that
the wave dispersion and the transverse profile of a wave along the field nonuniformity depend significantly on the amplitude
of the wave.

A method is described for obtaining the Hamiltonian of a vacuum magnetic field in a given 3D toroidal magnetic surface (superconducting shell). This method is used to derive the expression for the integrable surface Hamiltonian in the form of the expansion of a rotational transform of field lines on embedded near-boundary magnetic surfaces into a Taylor series in the distance from the boundary. This expansion contains the value of the rotational transform and its shear at the boundary surface. It is shown that these quantities are related to the components of the first and second quadratic forms of the boundary surface. 相似文献

center, which is typical for astrophysical objects, can lead to a significant decrease in the threshold velocity of the object
medium rotation, as well as to mitigation of the requirements on a rotation velocity profile that are necessary for the development

An experiment is conducted on estimating the velocity of a Schlichting boundary flow arising when a focused field falls on a rigid boundary in a liquid. The velocity of a small-scale Schlichting flow is determined by an indirect method from the characteristics of the cocurrent Rayleigh flow using the particle image velocimetry method. The velocity of the Schlichting flow attained in experiments gives us the possibility of significantly accelerating mass-transfer processes at a heterogeneous boundary, which is confirmed by experimental results on acoustic intensification of rapid growth of salt monocrystals conducted under strictly controlled laboratory conditions. 相似文献

We address the existence and properties of lossless surface waves that form at interfaces between magnetic and birefringent media. We show that the angular domain of existence of Dyakonov surface waves for magnetic interfaces is significantly larger than that for nonmagnetic ones. Our results have important implications for the experimental generation of surface waves and for their potential applications based on guided-to-leaky transitions. 相似文献

The nonlinear properties of surface charges are here analyzed under ideal conditions. We thus deduce a new single equation from the wellknown equations which govern the cold electron plasma motion. A zonal magnetic field is found in a toroidal plasma. The magnetic field has a symmetric bandlike structure, which is uniform in the toroidal and poloidal directions and varies radially with a finite wavelength of mesoscale, which is analogous to zonal flows. A time-dependent bicoherence analysis reveals that the magnetic field should be generated by the background plasma turbulence. The discovery is classified as a new kind of phenomenon of structured magnetic field generation, giving insight into phenomena such as dipole field generation in rotational planets. 相似文献
