Base on our preceding paper [H.Y. Fan, H.L. Lu, Opt. Commun. 258 (2006) 51] we find that there exists ABCD rule involved in the product of general SU(1,1) squeezing operators, which can be considered as the quantum optics countpart of the ABCD rule in classical optics. Both one- and two-mode cases are considered, especially, the ABCD theorem embodied in the Fresnel transformation of two-mode number state is exhibited.  相似文献

A novel strategy for quantum-state engineering is presented by employing the method of flow equation. This strategy offers an optimal procedure for generating stationary entangled states of coupled systems of photons and atoms. To illustrate it, the Jaynes-Cummings model as a simple prototype example is analyzed to exhibit how stationary photon-atom entanglement is established. A nonlocal continuous unitary transformation is explicitly constructed and the associated positive operator-valued measures for the photons and atom are obtained. Then, flow of the entanglement entropy is analyzed. A comment is also made on implementing the unitary operation in the method.  相似文献

Following Dirac’s assertion: “… for a quantum dynamic system that has a classical analogue, unitary transformation in the quantum theory is the analogue of contact transformation in the classical theory”, we find that the general SU(1, 1) single-mode squeezing operator F just corresponds to the generalized Fresnel transform (GFT) in wave optics. We derive the normal product form and canonical coherent state representation of F, whose matrix element in the coordinate representation is just the GFT. It is shown that F is a faithful representation of symplectic group which indicates that two successive GFTs is still a GFT. Applications of F in some other optical transforms, such as the Fresnel-wavelet transform, are presented.  相似文献

The development of technique of integration within an ordered product (IWOP) of operators extends the Newton-Leibniz integration rule, originally applying to permutable functions, to the non-commutative quantum mechanical operators composed of Dirac’s ket-bra, which enables us to obtain the images of directly mapping symplectic transformation in classical phase space parameterized by [AB; CD] into quantum mechanical operator through the coherent state representation, we call them the generalized Fresnel operators (GFO) since they correspond to Fresnel transforms in Fourier optics. Based on GFO we find the ABCD rule for Gaussian beam propagation in the context of quantum optics (both in one-mode and two-mode cases) whose classical correspondence is just the ABCD rule in matrix optics. The entangled state representation is used in discussing the two-mode case.  相似文献

We consider the influence of the local squeezed vacuum fields on two initially entangled two-qubit system. By considering the upper bound of entanglement under time evolution, we find that the decay of the quantum entanglement shows different behavior for different time scales (t?max{(2βA)−1,(2βB)−1}t?max{(2βA)−1,(2βB)−1} and t?min{(2βA)−1,(2βB)−1}t?min{(2βA)−1,(2βB)−1}). The relative phase of the squeezing environment can also affect the entanglement dynamics profoundly.  相似文献

We propose a scheme to implement two-bit .quantum phase gates and one-bit unitary gates by using the two- mode two-photon Jaynes Cummings model. We review recent developments in the use of non-classical light in low light level communications. Three examples using parametrically generated photon pairs are discussed. We propose an optical scheme for the generation of the cluster-type entangled coherent states in free travelling optical fields via cross-Kerr nonlinearity. The required resources for the generation are coherent state source, beam splitters, photodetectors, and Kerr media. We propose an optical scheme to generate cluster states of atomic qubits, with each trapped in separate optical cavity, via atom-cavity-laser interaction. The quantum information of each qubit is encoded on the degenerate ground states of the atom, hence the entanglement between them is relatively stable against spontaneous emission. A single-photon source and two classical fields are employed in the present scheme. By controlling the sequence and time of atom-cavity-laser interaction, we show that the atomic cluster states can be produced deterministically.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate tunable control of the group velocity of a weak probe field propagating through an f-deformed Bose-Einstein condensate of Λ-type three-level atoms beyond the rotating wave approximation. For this purpose, we use an f-deformed generalization of an effective two-level quantum model of the three-level Λ-configuration without the rotating wave approximation in which the Gardiner’s phonon operators for Bose-Einstein condensate are deformed by an operator-valued function, , of the particle-number operator . We consider the collisions between the atoms as a special kind of f-deformation where the collision rate κ is regarded as the deformation parameter. We demonstrate the enhanced effect of subluminal and superluminal propagation based on electromagnetically induced transparency and electromagnetically induced absorption, respectively. In particular, we find that (i) the absorptive and dispersive properties of the deformed condensate can be controlled effectively in the absence of the rotating wave approximation by changing the deformation parameter κ, the total number of atoms and the counter-rotating terms parameter λ, (ii) by increasing the values of λ, κ and η = 1/N, the group velocity of the probe pulse changes, from subluminal to superluminal and (iii) beyond the rotating wave approximation, the subluminal and superluminal behaviors of the probe field are enhanced.  相似文献

We show that the bipartite entanglement in the two-mode quantum kicked top can reveal the underlying chaotic and regular structures in phase space: namely, the entanglement displays a rapid rise after a very short time for an initial spin coherent state centred in a chaotic region of the phase space, whereas the entanglement displays a periodic modulation for the coherent state centred at an elliptic fixed point. The quantum-classical correspondence is investigated by studying the mean and maximal linear entropy.  相似文献

We present a method to characterize the polarization state of a light field in the continuous-variable regime. Instead of using the abstract formalism of SU(2) quasidistributions, we model polarization as the superposition of two harmonic oscillators of the same angular frequency along two orthogonal axes, much in the classical way of dealing with this variable. By describing each oscillator by an s-parametrized quasidistribution, we derive in a consistent way the final function for the polarization. We compare with previous approaches and show how this formalism works in some relevant examples.  相似文献

We present a scheme to generate cluster states with many scheme, no transfer of quantum information between the atoms in cavity QED via Raman transition. In this atoms and cavities is required, the cavity fields are only virtually excited and thus the cavity decay is suppressed during the generation of cluster states. The atoms are always populated in the two ground states. Therefore, the scheme is insensitive to the atomic spontaneous emission and cavity decay. This scheme can be easily generalized to generate two-mode excited entangled coherent states. In this paper, the effect of quantum interference on the entanglement of a driven V-type three-level atom and its spontaneous emission field was investigated by using the quantum entropy. The results indicate that, in the absence of quantum interference the atom and its spontaneous emission field are always entangled at the steady-state. But, in the presence of full quantum interference their steady-state entanglement depends on the atomic parameters. Specifically, with appropriate atomic parameters they can be entangled or disentangled at the steady-state. We realized that the steady-state entanglement is due to completely destructive nature of quantum interference. On the contrary, the steady-state disentanglement is due to instructive nature of quantum interference.  相似文献

Based on the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators we investigate a completeness relation of pure states (such as the coordinate eigenstate, the momentum eigenstate and the coherent state) into normally ordered Gaussian forms. The Weyl ordering invariance under similarity transformations is employed to reveal physical meaning of a kind of normally ordered Gaussian operators, which have the similar forms to the bivariate normal distributions in statistics, i.e., the thermo mixed state density matrix.  相似文献
