Only a few studies have been devoted to the experimental study of the initial stage of the motion of a liquid from the state of rest in a closed delivery conduit [1]. It can be concluded on the basis of the results of these studies that at the beginning of the process the mechanical energy losses are smaller than in quasistationary flow. These studies also suggest that the laminar nature of the flow persists in the nonstationary flow. However, investigations are of an integral nature and therefore in them the flow structure is not determined. In the present study the development of the motion of the liquid in a delivery conduit from the state of rest is investigated. The tangential frictional stresses at the wall of the conduit, measured by the thermal anemometric method, show that the transitional Reynolds number, at which the laminar flow regime changes into turbulent, depends on the acceleration of the flow and far exceeds the critical value for the case of the stationary flow. At maximum acceleration of the flow equal to 11.78 m/sec2 the transition of the laminar regime to the turbulent at the wall of the conduit occurs at Re = 234, 500. The loss coefficients of mechanical energy have been computed from experimental results, which show that the use of the corresponding coefficient of quasistationary turbulent flow in the computation leads to appreciable errors.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 79–85, November–December, 1977.  相似文献

A study is made of the problem of a two-dimensional turbulent boundary layer on the moving surface of a cylindrical body (a Rankine oval with a relative elongation of four) moving at constant velocity in an incompressible fluid. For the numerical simulation of the turbulent flow of the fluid, the boundary layer is divided into exterior and interior regions in accordance with a two-layer model, using different expressions for the coefficients of turbulent transfer for each region. A study was nade of the development of the boundary layer on the body at different speeds of the body surface and different Reynolds numbers. The following integral characteristics were found by numerical calculation: the work of friction as the body is displaced; the work expended on the movement of its surface; and, for a flow regime with separation, the work of the pressure force. In this case the following model of separation flow is assumed: beyond the singular point in the solution of the boundary layer equations that indicates the appearance of a region of reverse flow, the pressure and friction stress on the wall are constant and are determined by their values at the singular point.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSH, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 61–67, September–October, 1984.Finally, the author would like to thank G. Kinetic ideas about the motion of a set of particles (droplets) in a turbulent gas flow with gradient are used to derive a Fokker-Planck equation for the case of sufficiently large particles (more than few microns). This equation describes the process in which they are deposited on the wall of a channel. Satisfactory agreement has been obtained between the numerical solution to this equation for the deposition rate and the experimental data published in the literature. Under the assumption that the parameters of the carrier gaseous flow vary fairly slowly, a generalized equation is derived for particle diffusion in turbulent flow. This takes into account the intensity gradient of transverse pulsations in the velocity of the carrier gaseous flow.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 57–63, July–August, 1985.  相似文献

The interaction of a long coherent wave with the turbulence on the surface of a liquid is investigated within the framework of the theory of weak turbulence. A closed system of equations is obtained which consists of the dynamic equation for the coherent wave and equations of kinetic type describing the turbulent subsystem. It is shown that because of the interaction with the turbulent subsystem, coherent waves with wave vectors identical in magnitude but opposite in direction are coupled. The additional attenuation of the coherent wave because of the interaction is estimated; this attenuation may be considerably greater than that caused by molecular viscosity. A change in the spectrum of height correlators of the liquid surface is seen in the presence of a coherent wave.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 1, pp. 100–109, January–February, 1973.  相似文献

Mathematical models are considered and calculations made for flows in turbulent isobaric steam—air jets in the presence of condensation of the water vapor they contain. The models consist of gasdynamic equations for a turbulent jet, equations for a differential two-parameter model of turbulence, thermodynamic relations, and kinetic equations. A study is made of steam—air jets in a regime of condensation in equilibrium, when the flow region is broken down into zones of frozen flow and flow in equilibrium, described by the equations for a turbulent jet with the use of the traditional thermodynamic relations and of the thermodynamic relations for condensation in equilibrium. An analysis is made of the influence of pulsating motion on the kinetic parameters: rate of nucleation, the critical size of the nuclei, and rate of growth of the drops. It is shown that the rate of nucleation, determined from a quasilaminar averaging model, is several orders of magnitude less than the mean value obtained by averaging using the density distribution of the passive admixture concentration probability. A numerical study is made of the heterogeneous condensation in turbulent jets on extraneous particles entering from the nozzle. Kinetic equations are written down for the case when the rate of growth of the drops does not depend on their radius. A study is made of the dynamics of the transition of heterogeneous condensation from disequilibrium to equilibriumTranslated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 59–67, January–February, 1985.  相似文献

A study is made of the instability of a film of viscous liquid adjacent to a gas flow. Despite a number of investigations, there is no unified theory of this problem capable of explaining the experimental results of different authors. The present paper gives a solution of the problem that is valid for a large class of flows of liquid films in the case of laminar and turbulent flow of the gas.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 28–36, March–April, 1979.  相似文献

The interaction of plane waves coming from infinity with an infinitely long elastic rod floating on the surface of a liquid is considered. The liquid is assumed to be ideal and have infinite depth. It is assumed that the rod cannot become separated from the liquid. The parameters of the waves that pass through the rod and are reflected from it are determined, and the force factors in the transverse sections of the rod are found.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 62–67, September–October, 1980.  相似文献

An experimental investigation of the transition of a laminar flow regime into a turbulent one has been carried out in [1] for a flow in a circular pipe which is organized due to injection through the porous lateral surface with a jammed leading end of the pipe. It was established as a result that injection leads to an increase in stability of the laminar flow regime and increases the Reynolds number of the transition to 10,000 instead of the value 2300 which is characteristic of flow in a circular pipe with impenetrable walls. A similar effect was discovered in [2], in which it was also obtained that the Reynolds number of stability loss under the action of injection can take values significantly larger than in pipes with impenetrable walls. The phenomenon of relaminarization of a turbulent flow in the initial section of a circular pipe under the action of injection has been experimentally detected at the entrance for relatively low Reynolds numbers in [3, 4]. Theoretical investigations of stability of flow with injection have been performed only for a plane channel [5, 6]. A calculation is made in this paper of the stability of a hydrodynamically developed flow in a circular pipe with injection through a porous lateral surface.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 3, pp. 82–86, May–June, 1984.  相似文献

The direct numerical simulation (DNS) of the Taylor–Couette flow in the fully turbulent regime is described. The numerical method extends the work by Quadrio and Luchini [M. Quadrio, P. Luchini, Eur. J. Mech. B/Fluids 21 (2002) 413–427], and is based on a parallel computer code which uses mixed spatial discretization (spectral schemes in the homogeneous directions, and fourth-order, compact explicit finite-difference schemes in the radial direction). A DNS is carried out to simulate for the first time the turbulent Taylor–Couette flow in the turbulent regime. Statistical quantities are computed to complement the existing experimental information, with a view to compare it to planar, pressure-driven turbulent flow at the same value of the Reynolds number. The main source for differences in flow statistics between plane and curved-wall flows is attributed to the presence of large-scale rotating structures generated by curvature effects.  相似文献

The effect of a particle on the basic flow is studied, and the equations of motion of the particle are formulated. The problem is solved in the Stokes approximation with an accuracy up to the cube of the ratio of the radius of the sphere to the distance from the center of the sphere to peculiarities in the basic flow. An analogous problem concerning the motion of a sphere in a nonuniform flow of an ideal liquid has been discussed in [1]. We note that the solution is known in the case of flow around two spheres by a uniform flow of a viscous incompressible liquid [2], and we also note the papers [3, 4] on the motion of a small particle in a cylindrical tube.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 4, pp. 71–74, July–August, 1976.  相似文献

The solution of the problem of the edge of a turbulent jet, obtained in [1] starting from a model of the vortical motion of an ideal liquid, is generalized for the case of the turbulent mixing of two plane semibounded (accompanying or opposing) flows of an incompressible liquid. It is shown that the results of calculation are in qualitative agreement with experimental data and that they are close to them quantitatively. Some of the special characteristics of the method are discussed.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 6, pp. 92–101, November–December, 1973.  相似文献

A semlempirical model is constructed of the flow of a fiber suspension of low and medium concentration in regimes that are usually called mixed and undeveloped turbulent regimes [1–4]. It is shown that although the flow of fiber suspensions in these regimes has features similar to those of the turbulent flow of a Newtonian fluid, for example, a logarithmic velocity profile, the characteristic features of the flow in both regimes can be better explained, not by turbulence of the flow, but by orientation of the fibers in it and by plastic flow of the fiber continuum. For this reason, to distinguish the mixed and undeveloped turbulent regimes from a truly turbulent regime it is proposed here to describe them by a general name — transitional flow. The obtained expressions agree qualitatively and quantitatively with the experimental results of Lee and Duffy [2], Sanders and Meyer [3], and Mih and Parker [4].Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 40–45, May–June, 1984.I thank V. The results are given of an experimental investigation of the supersonic axisymmetric flow over a body consisting of a spherical segment joined to an inverted cone in the neighborhood of the point of inflection of the profile (Fig. 1a). For the limiting case of a cylinder with a flat end and M = 3, a study was made of the influence of the Reynolds number and the state of the boundary layer on the parameters of the local separation region formed near the inflection (Fig. 1b). It was found that there is an appreciable decrease in the length of the separation region and the pressure in it when the Reynolds number increases in the range Re = 105– 107 in the case of a laminar boundary layer on the flat end near the inflection point. A low level of the pressure on the surface of the body was achieved — of the order of thousandths of the pressure behind a normal shock. There was found to be a sharp increase in the pressure in the separation region when the boundary layer on the end becomes turbulent with transition to a flow regime that is self-similar with respect to the Reynolds number. Under conditions of a turbulent boundary layer, systematic experimental data on the pressure on the inverted cone near the point of inflection of such bodies were obtained and generalized.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 154–157, January–February, 1981.  相似文献

The problem of the motion of a cavity in a plane-parallel flow of an ideal liquid, taking account of surface tension, was first discussed in [1], in which an exact equation was obtained describing the equilibrium form of the cavity. In [2] an analysis was made of this equation, and, in a particular case, the existence of an analytical solution was demonstrated. Articles [3, 4] give the results of numerical solutions. In the present article, the cavity is defined by an infinite set of generalized coordinates, and Lagrange equations determining the dynamics of the cavity are given in explicit form. The problem discussed in [1–4] is reduced to the problem of seeking a minimum of a function of an infinite number of variables. The explicit form of this function is found. In distinction from [1–4], on the basis of the Lagrauge equations, a study is also made of the unsteady-state motion of the cavity. The dynamic equations are generalized for the case of a cavity moving in a heavy viscous liquid with surface tension at large Reynolds numbers. Under these circumstances, the steady-state motion of the cavity is determined from an infinite system of algebraic equations written in explicit form. An exact solution of the dynamic equations is obtained for an elliptical cavity in the case of an ideal liquid. An approximation of the cavity by an ellipse is used to find the approximate analytical dependence of the Weber number on the deformation, and a comparison is made with numerical calculations [3, 4]. The problem of the motion of an elliptical cavity is considered in a manner analogous to the problem of an ellipsoidal cavity for an axisymmetric flow [5, 6]. In distinction from [6], the equilibrium form of a flat cavity in a heavy viscous liquid becomes unstable if the ratio of the axes of the cavity is greater than 2.06.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 15–23, September–October, 1973.The author thanks G. The flow of a liquid in thin layers is one of the hydrodynamic problems of chemistry and heat engineering. The large surface area of films and their small thickness make it possible to accelerate thermal, diffusive, and chemical processes at the gas-liquid boundary.Theoretical studies of liquid flow in a vertical descending thin layer are presented in [1–4]. In this paper we study ascending wave flows of a liquid in a thin vertical layer in contact with a gas, i.e., flows in the direction opposite the action of the force due to gravity, with account for the action of the gas on the liquid surface. Such motions are encountered when oil is extracted from strata that are saturated with gas. At some distance from the stratum the oil and gas separate: the gas travels at high velocity inside the pipe, occupying a considerable portion of the pipe, and the liquid is displaced toward the pipe walls, forming a thin film. In certain cases a wave-like interface develops between the oil and gas that travels with a velocity greater than that of the liquid but less than the average gas velocity. Similar phenomena are observed in high velocity mass exchangers. We examine the effect of the gas for both laminar and turbulent flow.Studies that neglect the effect of the gas flow on the liquid show that for waves on the film surface whose lengths are considerably longer than the average thickness of the layer, the liquid motion in the film is described by boundary layer equations in which account is taken of the mass force, i.e., the force due to gravity. With some approximation, we can assume that in accounting for the effect of the gas on the liquid the liquid flow is described by these same equations.  相似文献

Three-dimensional, unestablished, gravitationally warped waves arising due to the motion of a harmonically time-varying pressure zone over a solid, thin plate floating on the surface of a homogeneous liquid of finite depth have been studied in the linear formulation. In the absence of a plate, three-dimensional waves are generated by the movement of a region of periodic perturbations, where established waves have been studied in [1, 2], and unestablished waves have been investigated in [3–5]. The evolution of three-dimensional, gravitationally warped waves formed during the motion of a constant load over a plate has been considered in [6].Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 5, pp. 54–60, September–October, 1986.  相似文献

The laminar flow regime of an incompressible fluid at the trailing edge of a plate was studied by Stewartson and Messiter [1, 2] by means of the method of matched asymptotic expansions. In. the present paper, this method is used to analyze the same problem, but in the case of turbulent flow in the boundary layer and the wake. A system of linear equations of elliptic type with variable coefficients is obtained for the averaged values of the flow parameters in the main part of the boundary layer and the wake that is responsible for the change in the displacement thickness. A solution of this system is constructed by the Fourier method in the case of a power law of the velocity in front of the interaction region.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 17–23, November–December, 1983.  相似文献

A study is made of the stability of the plane-parallel flow of a viscous liquid in a layer with a free boundary, under weightless conditions. The motion of the liquid is due to the dependence of the surface tension on the temperature. An exact solution for an unperturbed boundary is obtained by the same method used in [1], but with a more general boundary condition for the temperature. A study of the stability was carried out by the method of small vibrations, taking account of the perturbation of the free boundary. The article discusses the asymptotic behavior of long waves at small Reynolds numbers, and the conditions for instability are found.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 6, pp. 94–98, November–December, 1971.  相似文献
