The Schiff base ligand (HL) obtained from phenylmethanamine and 5-methoxysalicylaldehyde are used as ligands for Co(II) and Ni(II) resulting in complexes [Co(L)2] (I) and [Ni(L)2] (II), and their solid state structures were determined by X-ray crystallography. In both complexes, weak interactions play an important role in the molecular self-assembly. Complex I was stacked up to the 2D layers by C-H…O hydrogen bonds and C-H…π interactions. In contrast, complex II was extended into 2D sheet by C-H…O hydrogen bonds, the C-H…π interactions, and edge-to-face interactions.  相似文献

Chiral Schiff base complexes containing azo-groups, bis(N-R-1-cyclohexylethyl-4-phenyldiazenylsalicydenaminato) nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes, and without azo-groups, bis(N-R-1-cyclohexylethyl-3,5-dichlorosalicydenaminato) nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes, affording a distorted square planar trans-[MN2O2] coordination geometry were prepared. Organic/inorganic hybrid materials in polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) spincoat films of the complexes (both the azobenzene (AZ) containing type and the latter complexes of the AZ separated type) were assembled for a comparison of polarized UV light induced molecular arrangement caused by the Weigert effect. Investigation of the parameters for the optical anisotropy of the metal complexes as well as AZ suggested that the degree of increasing optical anisotropy of the containing type was higher than that of the separated type based on π-π (of which a characteristic band appeared around 380 nm) and n-π bands of polarized absorption electronic spectra. In the AZ containing type, the rigid nickel(II) or zinc(II) complexes easily increase the optical anisotropy compared to the flexible copper(II) complexes. In the AZ separated type, interestingly, enhancement of some CD bands suggests the role of chiral dopants of some complexes without azo-groups for AZ.  相似文献

Reaction of tridentate Schiff bases with nickel and cadmium salts in methanol afforded two new mononuclear complexes, [Ni(L1)2] (I) and [Cd(L2)2] (II), where L1 and L2 are the anions of 2-bromo-4-chloro-6-[(3-dimethylaminopropylimino)methyl]phenol (HL1) and 2-bromo-4-chloro-6-[(3-morpholin-4-ylpropylimino)methyl]phenol (HL2), respectively. The complexes were characterized by singlecrystal X-ray diffraction (CIF files CCDC nos. 1428653 (I) and 1428654 for (II)), FT-IR, and elemental analysis. Complex I crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1/c, with a = 8.8216(8), b = 14.0424(8), c = 11.8687(12) Å, β = 111.238(2)°, V = 1370.4(2) Å3, Z = 2. Complex II crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1/n, with a = 9.6774(4), b = 15.8970(6), c = 20.3144(7) Å, β = 90.408(2)°, V = 3125.1(2) Å3, Z = 4. The metal atoms in the complexes are coordinated by two tridentate Schiff base ligands, forming octahedral coordination. The free Schiff bases and the complexes were assayed for antibacterial activities. Both complexes are more active against the bacteria than the free Schiff bases. Complex II has the MIC value of 0.39 μg mL–1 against Bacillus subtilis.  相似文献

A chiral Schiff base ligand (H2L) was obtained by condensing 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1-carbaldehyde with substituted (1R,2R)-(–)-diaminocyclohexane. Chiral Schiff base complexes [CuL], [NiL], [ZnL] and [MnLOH] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, M, i.r., u.v.–vis. and 1H-n.m.r. and magnetic measurements.  相似文献

In the title salt, catena‐poly[[[aquacopper(II)]‐μ‐3‐(2‐pyridylmethyleneamino)propanoato‐κ4N,N′,O:O′] perchlorate], {[Cu(C9H9N2O2)(H2O)]ClO4}n, the monomeric unit contains a square‐based pyramidal CuII centre. The four basal positions are occupied by a tridentate anionic Schiff base ligand which furnishes an NNO‐donor set, with the fourth basal position being occupied by an O‐donor atom from the carboxylate group of an adjacent Schiff base ligand. The coordination sphere is completed by a water molecule at the apical position. Interestingly, each carboxylate group in the ligand forms a syn–anti‐configured bridge between two CuII centres, leading to left‐handed chiral helicity. The framework also exhibits O—H...O hydrogen bonds involving the water molecules and an O atom of the perchlorate anion.  相似文献

The Schiff base ligands, 2-hydroxy-N-cyclohexyl-l-naphthaldimine (I), and 3-hydroxy-N-cyclohexyl-2-naphthaldimine (II), and their corresponding CuII complexes (1–2) respectively were synthesized and characterized. The crystal and molecular structures of bis-{(cyclohexyl)[(2-oxo-1H-naphth-1-ylidene)-methyl]aminato}copper(II) (1) and bis-{(cyclohexyl)[(3-oxo-2H-naphth-2-ylidene)-methyl]aminato} copper(II) (2), were determined. The X-ray diffraction study shows that the geometry around the metal atom for (1), is stepped square planar with a step of 1.063 Å while for (2), the geometry around the metal atom for square planar with an angle between the coordination planes O(1)---Cu---N(1) and O(1a)---Cu---N(1a) of 39.9°. Electrochemical studies show a dependence of the CuII/CuI potentials on the ligand structure.  相似文献

Metal complexes of general formula [Cu(L)](ClO4)2, [Ru(L)(PPh3)2]Cl2 and [Ru(L)(PPh3)Cl]Cl2[L = 1,4-di- (o-benzylidiminophenoxy/benzylidiminophenylthio)butane] containing N2O2 or N2S2 donor atoms have been prepared and characterised by spectral, magnetic and cyclic voltammetric studies. The rhombic nature of the e.s.r. spectra of the RuIII complexes indicates an asymmetry in the electronic environment around the Ru atom. e.s.r. spectra of the CuII complexes show a typical four-line spectrum with approximate tetrahedral distortion. The observed low A values in the CuII complexes, of the order of 132–160 × 10–4cm–1, indicates a tetrahedrally distorted square planar structure. The influence of modified ligands is reflected in the metal-centered redox potentials. CuII complexes having the N2S2 chromophore, in MeCN on a glassy carbon electrode, undergo quasi-reversible reduction in the 540–680 mV range. A depression in E1/2 values for the open chain N2S2 chromophoric macrocyclic CuII complexes, compared to electronically similar cyclic tetradentate CuII analogues, is due to the increased stabilization of the CuI state by added flexibility provided through the open chain donor sites.  相似文献

Some nickel(II) complexes of quadridentate Schiff bases prepared from the condensation of 2 mol of 2-hydroxyacetophenone (HACP) or dehydroacetic acid (DHA) with 1 mol of optically active propylene-1,2-diamine (pn), trans-cyclohexane-1,2-diamine (chxn) or 1,2-diphenylethylenediamine (dpen) were synthesized and characterized by EA, IR, UV–vis, and CD spectra. The absolute configurations of the three complexes were determined by X-ray single crystal structure measurement and correlated with CD spectroscopy. In this study, special attention is focussed on the CD signals of the related complexes in the d–d transition region, in the hope of obtaining a tentative correlation between the CD pattern and the absolute configuration about the central metal. A new empirical rule for the assignment of the absolute configuration around the nickel ion in each complex and the handedness of the chiral diamine contained in the Schiff base ligand is put forward. In the case of tetra-coordinated pseudo-planar Ni(II) complexes, the rule can be stated as follows: (i) a positive Cotton effect in the d–d region around 550 nm is assigned to the (Sλ-configuration for the HACP-(S)-pn-Ni, HACP-(SS)-dpen-Ni, DHA-S-pn-Ni, and DHA-(SS)-dpen-Ni derivatives; and (ii) a concomitant inversion of the Cotton effect in the same range is assigned to the (Sδ-configuration for the HACP-(SS)-chxn-Ni and DHA-(SS)-chxn-Ni derivatives.  相似文献

Enantiomerically pure and racemic forms of calixsalen-type macrocycles 1 and 2 were synthesized and their crystal structures were determined. The enantiomerically pure crystals of (S,S,S,S,S,S)-1 exhibited thermally reversible photochromism from yellow to orange-red upon photoirradiation in the solid state, while rac-crystals of 2 with the guest CH3CN did not show any photocolouration.  相似文献

Preparations, crystal structures, electronic and CD spectra are reported for new chiral Schiff base complexes, bis(N-R-1-naphthylethyl-3,5-dichlorosalicydenaminato)nickel(II), copper(II), and zinc(II). Nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes adopt a square planar trans-[MN2O2] coordination geometry with Δ(R,R) configuration. While zinc(II) complex adopts a compressed tetrahedral trans-[MN2O2] one with Δ(R,R) configuration and exhibits an emission band around 21 000 cm−1 (λex = 27 000 cm−1). Absorption and CD spectra were recorded in N,N′-dimethylformamide, acetone, methanol, chloroform, and toluene solutions to discuss relationships between spectral shifts of d–d and π–π bands by structural changes of the complexes and physical properties of the solvents. Moreover, we have attempted to investigate conformational changes of the complexes induced by photoisomerization of azobenzene, 4-hydroxyazobenzene, or 4-aminoazobenzene, in various solutions under different conditions. Weak intermolecular interactions between complexes and azobenzenes are important for the phenomenon by conformational changes of bulky π-conjugated moieties of the ligands.  相似文献

New copper(II) complexes, [Cu2L1L2] · ClO4 (I) and [Ni(L3)2] (II), where L1 is the monoanionic form of 2-[1-(2-emthylaminoethylimino)ethyl]phenol, L2 is the dianionic form of N,N′-ethylene-bis(2-hydroxyacetophenonylideneimine), L3 is the mono-anionic form of 2-(1-iminoethyl)phenol, were prepared and characterized using elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. In complex I, the Cu(1) atom is coordinated by the NNO tridentate ligand L1 and the two phenolate O atoms of L2, forming a square pyramidal geometry. The Cu(2) atom in complex I is coordinated by the NNOO tetradenate ligand L2, forming a square planar geometry. The Ni atom in complex II is coordinated by two phenolate O and two imine N atoms from two ligands L3, forming a square planar geometry. In the crystal structure of I, the perchlorate anions are linked to the dinuclear copper(II) complex cations through intermolecular N-H...O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal structure of II, the mononuclear nickel complex molecules are linked through intermolecular N-H...O hydrogen bonds, forming a trimer.  相似文献

Bridging ligands containing two spatially separated 2,2′:6′,2′-terpyridinyl metal-binding domains have been prepared and used for the controlled assembly of coordination oligomers incorporating ruthenium(II) and other metal ions. Two such bridging ligands have been structurally characterised. The systematic synthesis of a range of homo- and heterometallic polynuclear complexes incorporating these bridging ligands and a variety of terminator 2,2′:6′,2′- terpyridines is described.  相似文献

Summary New neutral platinum complexes of Schiff bases or their hydrated derivatives were prepared and a new path to mixed ligand platinum(II) complexes is proposed. Reactions of [PtCl4]2– with multidentate Schiff bases give chelates which react further, resulting in cis-coordinated mixed N-donor ligand complexes. Structures are proposed on the basis of chemical analyses, electrical conductivities and i.r. studies.  相似文献

Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with the Schiff base (LH) derived from ceftazidime and salicylaldehyde were synthesized. The proposed structures of the new metal complexes based on the results of elemental analyses, molar conductivity, IR, DRUV and 1H NMR spectra, effective magnetic moment and thermal analysis were discussed. The surface morphology of Schiff base and metal complexes was studied by SEM. The composition of the metal complexes was ML2, where L is the deprotonated Schiff base ligand and M = Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II). IR spectral data indicated the Schiff base ligand being bidentately coordinated to the metallic ions with N and O atoms from azomethine and phenolic groups. All the complexes have square-planar geometry and are nonelectrolytes. The thermal analysis recorded that TG, DTG, DTA and DSC experiments confirmed the assigned composition and gave information about the thermal stability of complexes in dynamic air atmosphere. Theoretical investigation of the molecular structure of Schiff base ligand and its complexes was studied using programs dedicated to chemical modeling and quantomolecular calculation of chemical properties. The newly synthesized complexes were tested for in vitro antibacterial activity against selected Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacterial strains, and they exhibited an antibacterial activity superior to that of the Schiff base ligand.  相似文献

Two new mononuclear complexes, [NiL1] · CH3OH (I) and [NiL2] (II), have been prepared from the tetradentate Schiff bases N,N'-bis(5-methylsalicylidene)ethylenediamine (H2L1) and N,N'-bis(5-methylsalicylidene)- o-phenylenediamine (H2L2), respectively. The complexes have been characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods, as well as single-crystal X-ray determination (CIF files nos. 1428969 (I), 1428968 (II)). Complex I crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with a = 6.7387(14), b = 10.7010(17), c = 12.681(2) Å, α = 87.059(2)°, β = 88.828(2)°, γ = 89.901(2)°, V = 913.0(3) Å3, Z = 2. Complex II crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n with a = 12.1437(11), b = 8.0537(8), c = 18.4545(18) Å, β = 105.088(2)°, V = 1742.7(3) Å3, Z = 4. The nickel atoms in the complexes are coordinated by two phenolate O and two imine N atoms of the tetradentate Schiff base ligands, forming square planar coordination. The complexes and the Schiff base compounds were assayed for antibacterial activities against three Gram-positive bacterial strains (B. subtilis, S. aureus, and St. faecalis) and three Gram-negative bacterial strains (E. coli, P. aeruginosa, and E. cloacae) by MTT method. As a result, the complexes showed effective antimicrobial activity against the microorganisms tested.  相似文献

A new series of photo-luminescent Zn(II) and Mg(II) Schiff base complexes were prepared by treatment of the arylethynyl-substituted salicylaldehydes obtained from the Sonogashira reaction with the metal salt followed by addition of the different diamines. Most square-planar Zn(II) complexes exhibited good quantum efficiencies. The Mg(II) complexes displayed even higher quantum yields than the corresponding Zn-complexes. Unsymmetrical Zn(II) Schiff base complexes were also successfully prepared from organic monoimines obtained as intermediates in the formation of the Mg metal Schiff base complex. The monoimine can also be prepared from the reaction of salicylaldehydes with excess diaminoarene. Two crystal structures featuring the zinc atom are reported, one with a rare four-coordinate square planar geometry and the other with a five-coordinate square pyramidal geometry.  相似文献

A new pentadentate Schiff base 2,6,10-triaza-1,11-bis(2′-aminophenyl)-undeca-1,10-diene, abaDPT, and its complexes of general formula M(abaDPT)X2 where M = Cu(II), Ni(II), X = Cl, Br, I, NO3 and ClO4, have been prepared. The complexes have been characterized by electronic and IR spectra, EPR, magnetic moments, molar conductances, and elemental analysis. IR data show an interaction between halide anion of the outer coordination sphere and the complexed amino group. EPR and spectrophotometric data of most of the copper compounds are consistent with a distorted square pyramidal geometry. Single crystal EPR studies of Cu(abaDPT)(NO3)2 and Cu(abaDPT)Br2 revealed that copper atoms in the former compound occupy two magnetically inequivalent places in the lattice while copper atoms in the latter compound take identical sites. Principal g tensor axes of the two compounds have been determined.  相似文献
