Investigation of the process of nanohole formation on silicon surface mediated with near electromagnetic field enhancement in vicinity of gold particles is described. Gold nanospheres with diameters of 40, 80 and 200 nm are used. Irradiation of the samples with laser pulse at fluences below the ablation threshold for native Si surface, results in a nanosized surface modification. The nanostructure formation is investigated for the fundamental (λ = 800 nm, 100 fs) and the second harmonic (λ = 400 nm, 250 fs) of the laser radiation generated by ultrashort Ti:sapphire laser system. The near electric field distribution is analyzed by an Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) simulation code. The properties of the produced morphological changes on the Si surface are found to depend strongly on the polarization and the wavelength of the laser irradiation. When the laser pulse is linearly polarized the produced nanohole shape is elongated in the E-direction of the polarization. The shape of the hole becomes symmetrical when the laser radiation is circularly polarized. The size of the ablated holes depends on the size of the gold particles, as the smallest holes are produced with the smallest particles. The variation of the laser fluence and the particle size gives possibility of fabricating structures with lateral dimensions ranging from 200 nm to below 40 nm. Explanation of the obtained results is given on the basis simulations of the near field properties using FDTD model and Mie's theory.  相似文献

Nanohole fabrication process with gold nanoparticles irradiated by femtosecond laser at different incident angles is investigated. Nanoparticles with diameter of 200 nm and laser irradiation with center wavelength of 800 nm are used in the present study. The analysis of the electromagnetic field distribution in the near-field zone of the particle is made by simulations based on finite-differential time domain (FDTD) method. It is shown that when gold nanoparticle is irradiated by laser pulse surface plasmon excitation can be induced, and associated with it, high-intensity near field is produced in a limited area around the particle. It is found that the change of the irradiation conditions by means of irradiation from various incident directions gives a possibility of laser nanoprocessing with tunable characteristics. Our results show that enhanced optical intensity is able to be induced on the substrate surface regardless of incident direction of the laser due to the image charge interaction with the substrate. Furthermore, the use of p-polarized laser irradiation at a certain angle gives a minimum of the spatial dimensions of the enhanced zone on the substrate which is about two times smaller than that obtained at normal incidence.  相似文献

Direct space-selective growth of PbS nanoparticles, embedded inside a transparent porous sol–gel derived silica matrix, has been achieved using continuous laser irradiation. Before the irradiation, the porous silica host has been soaked in a PbS precursor solution. The effect of the concentration of PbS precursors and of the incident laser power on the mean particle size was studied. Absorption spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, and TEM measurements were used to identify the PbS crystallites inside the xerogel and to estimate the average particle size. It has been shown that PbS crystallite sizes range between 3 and 13 nm depending on the PbS precursors concentration.  相似文献

Magnetite particles with different average diameter (Dm) suitable for magnetic fluid hyperthermia (MFH) were synthesized by controlled coprecipitation technique. In this method, the reaction pH was stabilized using the pH buffer and the average particle diameter decreased with increasing reaction pH. The size-dependent magnetic behavior of the magnetite nanoparticles was studied and the optimum size range required for magnetic fluid hyperthermia (MFH) has been arrived at. Among the samples studied, the maximum specific absorption rate of 15.7 W/g was recorded for the magnetite sample with Dm of 13 nm, when exposed to an AC magnetic field strength of 3.2 kA/m and a frequency of 600 kHz. The AC magnetic properties suggested that the size distribution of the sample was bimodal with average particle size less than ∼13 nm.  相似文献

We present localized optical field distribution properties in the vicinity of gold particles on a silicon substrate by backward and forward irradiation. It is technically difficult to fabricate nanostructures on the surface by a conventional forward laser incident to the substrate because gold nanoparticles easily aggregate to form double-layered particle arrays. We calculated enhanced optical field properties in order to pattern the substrate surface only with a template of the bottom-layered particle arrays in the case that the backward irradiation of a femtosecond laser is used in the system of aggregated double-layered gold nanoparticle arrays. With the backward irradiation, the optical field intensity in the substrate for the double-layered hexagonal arrays is found to be only 30% lower than the mono-layered system. Moreover, a near field cannot be generated with the forward irradiation. As a result, only the backward irradiation scheme is found to be effective for uniform surface nanopatterning at enhanced plasmonic near-field zones.  相似文献

Transparent conducting nano-structured In doped zinc oxide (IZO) thin films are deposited on corning 7059 glass substrates by bipolar pulsed DC magnetron sputtering with variation of pulsed frequency and substrate temperature. Highly c-axis oriented IZO thin films were grown in perpendicular to the substrate on the 30 kHz and 500 °C. The IZO films exhibited surface roughness of 3.6 nm similar to the commercial ITO and n-type semiconducting properties with electrical resistivity (carrier mobility) of about 5 × 10−3 Ω cm (14 cm2/V s). The optical characterization showed high transmittance of over 85% in the UV-vis region and exhibited the absorption edge of near 350 nm. In micro-Raman spectra, the origin of two additional modes is attributed to the host lattice defect due to the addition of In dopant. These results suggest that the IZO film can possibly be applied to make transparent conducting electrodes for flat panel displays.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticle arrays are fabricated for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) and the effect of the annealing temperature, the thickness of nanoparticle array and the exciting power on the SERS signals are investigated. The particle distribution and particle size are dense and uniform on the glass substrate when the 10 nm gold film was annealed at 250 °C and strong SERS signals for Rhodamine 6G were achieved via a 532 nm excitation with a 10 mW power. The SERS signal at 1650 cm−1 is enhanced more than 10 times as compared to that of the gold film without annealing. The strong SERS behavior of gold nanoparticle arrays may broaden the SERS applications in biomedical and analytical chemistry.  相似文献

Si doped and undoped nanocrystalline aluminum nitride thin films were deposited on various substrates by direct current sputtering technique. X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the formation of phase pure hexagonal aluminum nitride with a single peak corresponding to (1 0 0) reflection of AlN with lattice constants, a = 0.3114 nm and c = 0.4986 nm. Energy dispersive analysis of X-rays confirmed the presence of Si in the doped AlN films. Atomic force microscopic studies showed that the average particle size of the film prepared at substrate temperature 200 °C was 9.5 nm, but when 5 at.% Si was incorporated the average particle size increased to ∼21 nm. Field emission study indicated that, with increasing Si doping concentration, the emission characteristics have been improved. The turn-on field (Eto) was 15.0 (±0.7) V/μm, 8.0 (±0.4) V/μm and 7.8 (±0.5) V/μm for undoped, 3 at.% and 5 at.% Si doped AlN films respectively and the maximum current density of 0.27 μA/cm2 has been observed for 5 at.% Si doped nanocrystalline AlN film. It was also found that the dielectric properties were highly dependent on Si doping.  相似文献

The subwavelength focusing properties of diffractive plasmonic planar lenses (DPLs) and Fresnel zone plate plasmonic planar lenses (FZPs) have been compared in this paper. To that end, we use the same lens material, incident wavelength, thickness and focal length for comparison. Both DPLs and FZPs consist of central circular slits surrounded by transparent and opaque zones and can get clear focusing performances. By using the rigorous electromagnetic numerical method, the fields in the focal region are analyzed in detail, and our results demonstrate that FZP can generate higher transmission efficiency, and higher peak field intensity at the focal plane. Focusing polarization properties of the lens illuminated by linearly polarized state, are calculated and analyzed also. The numerical results show that both the DPL and the FZP produce asymmetrical focal spot distributions with a low f-number. To the FZP, the full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) varies from 256 nm (along y-axis) to 516 nm(along x-axis) and to the DPL, the FWHM varies from 256 nm(along y-axis) to 580 nm(along x-axis), respectively. But for a high f-number, the asymmetrical performance of the focal spot will be reduced due to complicated electromagnetical field interferences and micro waveguide effect. Otherwise, the DPL can get a higher depolarization effect than the FZP does.  相似文献

We present rapid synthesis of gold nanoparticles by microwave irradiation method. Sample with average particle size 7.7 nm is obtained from TEM. Linear and nonlinear optical studies of the prepared samples are discussed. Reverse saturable absorption (RSA) at longitudinal surface plasmon resonance (SPR) in gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) have been observed using Z-scan and transient absorption techniques with 532 nm laser pulses. Such RSA behavior makes Au NPs an ideal candidate for optical limiting applications.  相似文献

Spinel ferrite NiFe2O4 nanoparticles (?25 nm) in SiO2 matrix were prepared by sol–gel method. The phase and average crystallite size of the samples were determined by X-ray diffraction method and the particle size distributions were studied by a transmission electron microscope. Magnetic properties of the samples were investigated with different ferrite particle sizes and at various temperatures down to 10 K. Superparamagnetic properties were observed at room temperature when the particle size is less than 10 nm.In superparamagnetic state, the field dependence of magnetization follows Langevin function which was originally developed for paramagnetism. The effective anisotropy constant Keff is found to increase significantly with the decrease in particle volume and an order of magnitude higher than that of the bulk samples when the particle size is below 5 nm due to the dominance of surface anisotropy. In case of nanosized systems, the effect of size reduction on the law of approach to saturation has also been studied in detail.  相似文献

A new imaging method is proposed for ultrathin films with a thickness of a few nanometers, based on the anomalous reflection (AR) of gold. In the AR effect, the reflectivity fairly decreases for blue or purple light (380 nm < λ < 480 nm) with the existence of a transparent dielectric layer at a gold surface. Thus, a thin gold film can be used as an imaging platform. Clear AR images are obtained for a microarray of protein (avidin) spots of diameter 120 μm with gaps of size 50 μm between the spots (36 spots/mm2). The resolution of the AR imaging is governed solely by the illumination spot size. AR imaging is a promising technique for high throughput analysis of biomolecular detection in a microarray format.  相似文献

Nanocomposite films consisting of gold nanospheres or gold nanorods embedded in a silica matrix have been prepared using a hybrid deposition technique consisting of plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition of SiO2 and co-sputtering of gold, followed by annealing at 900 °C. Subsequent irradiation with 30 MeV heavy ions (Cu5+) was used to form gold nanorods. Linear and nonlinear optical properties of this material are closely related with the surface plasmon resonance in the visible. The nonlinear absorption coefficient (α2@532 nm) for the films containing gold nanospheres was measured by Z-scan and P-scan techniques, and it was found to be isotropic and equal to −4.8 × 10−2 cm/W. On the contrary, gold nanorods films exhibited two distinct surface plasmon resonance absorption bands giving rise to a strong anisotropic behavior, namely a polarization-dependent linear absorption and saturable absorption. Z-scan and P-scan measurements using various light polarization directions yielded nonlinear absorption coefficient (α2@532 nm) values varying from −0.9 × 10−2 cm/W up to −3.0 × 10−2 cm/W. Linearity of the P-scan method in the context of nanocomposite saturable absorption is also discussed.  相似文献

The future implementation of integrated photonic devices requires the creation of nanostructures with well defined morphological and optical properties. To this end, we deposited size-selected gold nanoparticles produced by a gas phase aggregation cluster source on transparent substrates at room temperature with controlled impact energy. Interferometric optical detection measurements using a supercontinuum laser source demonstrated a blue-shifted plasmon resonance at the single particle level. The blue shift was observed to be more pronounced for small single clusters down to 3 nm in size.  相似文献

Nanometer-scale Al particles are fabricated and are embedded in a GaAs matrix using molecular beam epitaxial technique. The Al particle is self-assembled on GaAs by supplying an Al molecular beam. The average particle size is found to be 25 nm. The density is 7 × 1010 cm−2 when Al of 6.2 × 1015 atoms/cm2 is supplied on (1 0 0)GaAs at a substrate temperature of 300 °C. Clear hysteresis and plateaus in capacitance-voltage (C-V) curves are found in an Al-embedded sample, whereas monotonic increase of capacitance is obtained in a reference sample having an AlAs layer instead of Al. This difference results from trapping of electrons by the Al particles, suggesting that the particles have metallic character.  相似文献

Laser cleaning of a photoresist (PR) on a glass substrate using ns-pulsed Nd:YAG laser was studied. The direction of the substrate facing the laser beam was varied as a main parameter as well as the power of the laser beam. The backward irradiation (BWI) of the third harmonic beam (355 nm) completely removed 1.2 μm thick PR layer with three pulses at 1.5 J/cm2 leaving no residues behind; while the forward irradiation (FWI) at the same condition just partially cleaned it. To investigate the difference of removal mechanisms between irradiation directions, the size distributions of particulates generated during laser cleaning were observed using an optical particle counter. The concentration of micron-sized particulates increased with increasing laser fluence up to 1 J/cm2 for FWI and 0.5 J/cm2 for BWI and then decreased at higher fluences because the target was a very thin film. The concentration of larger particulates for BWI was much higher than that for FWI implying the difference in removal mechanisms. In consideration of the size characteristics of the particulates and the temperature profiles of the PR layer, the most probable distinct mechanism for the BWI would be a blasting due to high temperature at the PR/glass interface. The particulate number concentration decreased rapidly after the completion of cleaning, suggesting that the measurement of the particulate concentration could detect the progress of the cleaning. Our results demonstrated that the backward irradiation will be useful for the laser cleaning of film-type contaminants on an optically transparent substrate.  相似文献

Nanostructured zinc ferrite of particle size 10 nm was synthesized by using the nitrates of appropriate cations and citric acid. This system was irradiated by 100 MeV oxygen beam with the fluence of 5×1013 ions/cm2. The particle size of the system remains almost same after the irradiation. We observe decrease in magnetization of the sample after irradiation at 300 and 10 K. The nature of the σ-H plot shows the presence of superparamgnetic domains at 300 K even after irradiation. The blocking temperature decreases from 276 to 63 K after irradiation. The Mössbauer spectroscopy supports the presence of superparamgnetic domains at 300 K in both the samples. The decrease in magnetization after irradiation is attributed to the decrease in cation inversion and increase in canting angle as observed from in-field Mössbauer spectroscopy.  相似文献

In the present study, the structural, optical and antibacterial properties of ZnO thin films are reported. ZnO thin films are deposited on borosilicate glass substrates by radio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) using oxygen as process gas. The crystallinity of the deposited films is improved upon annealing at 450 °C in air for 1.5 h and the polycrystalline nature of the films is further confirmed by selected area electron diffraction. The particle size of the annealed film (thickness 476 nm) is found to be ∼34 nm from the transmission electron microscopic observation. Energy dispersive X-ray spectrum indicates the stoichiometric deposition of ZnO films. The films are highly transparent (transmittance >85%) in the visible region of electromagnetic spectrum. The films exhibit excellent antibacterial effect towards the growth of Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline PZT thick films (1 mm square and over 10 μm thick) directly deposited onto stainless-steel substrates (PZT/SUS) by aerosol deposition (AD) technique and then annealed using focused laser beam with a fiber laser to suppress thermal damage to the back sides of the PZT/SUS and substrate near the film edge and to retain the dielectric and/or ferroelectric properties of the PZT/SUS. Compared with CO2 laser annealing, fiber laser annealing suppressed thermal damage to the substrate. Compared with PZT/SUS annealed at 600 °C using an electric furnace, PZT/SUS annealed at 600 °C using a fiber laser showed superior properties, namely, dielectric constant ? > 1200 at a frequency of 100 Hz, remanent polarization Pr > 30 μC/cm2, and coercive field strength Ec < 50 kV/cm at a frequency of 10 Hz. Furthermore, the grain growth for the PZT/SUS formed by AD technique and annealed by fiber laser irradiation was occurred within the laser spot size.  相似文献

In this paper we report the formation of gold nanoparticles during laser ablation of gold target in water in the absence of any additives. The experiments were carried out by using the radiation of the pulsed Nd:YAG laser, operating at the second (532 nm, 10 ns, 10 Hz), or the fourth harmonic (266 nm) wavelengths. The properties of the nanoparticles were found to be susceptible to the additional 532 and 266 nm laser irradiation. It has been established that both the mean size of the nanoparticles and their stability could be varied by proper selection of the parameters of laser ablation and postirradiation such as laser fluence and wavelength combinations.  相似文献
