In this paper, we shall define the renormalization of the multiple q-zeta values (MqZV) which are special values of multiple q-zeta functions ζq (s1,..., Sd) when the arguments are all positive integers or all non-positive integers. This generalizes the work of Guo and Zhang (Renormalization of Multiple Zeta Values, arxiv: math/0606076v3). We show that our renormalization process produces the same values if the MqZVs are well-defined originally and that these renormalizations of MqZV satisfy the q-stuffle relations if we use shifted-renormalizations for all divergent ζq(S1,..., sd) (i.e., s1 ≤ 1). Moreover, when q ↑ 1 our renormalizations agree with those of Guo and Zhang.  相似文献

In Fayers and Martin [J. Algebra 240 (2001), 859–873], the author and Martin constructed embeddings of Schur algebras S(2,r)↪S(2,R). Here, we generalise to the q-Schur algebras Sq(2,r). Presented by A. Verschoren Mathematics Subject Classifications (2000) 20G05, 20C33.  相似文献

The j-function j(z) = q−1+ 744 + 196884q + ⋅s plays an important role in many problems. In [7], Zagier, presented an interesting series of functions obtained from the j-function: jm(ζ) = (j(ζ) – 744)∨T0(m), where T0(m) is the usual m′th normalized weight 0 Hecke operator. In [3], Bruinier et al. show how this series of functions can be used to describe all meromorphic modular forms on SL2(ℤ). In this note we use these functions and basic notions about modular forms to determine previously unidentified congruence relations between the coefficients of Eisenstein series and the j-function. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: Primary–11B50, 11F03, 11F30 The author thanks the National Science Foundation for their generous support.  相似文献

For every positive integer d we define the q-analog of multiple zeta function of depth d and study its properties, generalizing the work of Kaneko et al. who dealt with the case d=1. We first analytically continue it to a meromorphic function on ℂ d with explicit poles. In our Main Theorem we show that its limit when q 1 is the ordinary multiple zeta function. Then we consider some special values of these functions when d=2. At the end of the paper we also propose the q-analogs of multiple polylogarithms by using Jackson’s q-iterated integrals and then study some of their properties. Our definition is motivated by those of Koornwinder and Schlesinger although theirs are slightly different from ours. Partially supported by NSF grant DMS0139813 and DMS0348258.  相似文献

In [1], we defined c(G), q(G) and p(G). In this paper we will show that if G is a p-group, where p is an odd prime and |G| ≤ p 4, then c(G) = q(G) = p(G). However, the question of whether or not there is a p-group G with strict inequality c(G) = q(G) < p(G) is still open.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the p-ary linear code C(PG(n,q)), q = p h , p prime, h ≥ 1, generated by the incidence matrix of points and hyperplanes of a Desarguesian projective space PG(n,q), and its dual code. We link the codewords of small weight of this code to blocking sets with respect to lines in PG(n,q) and we exclude all possible codewords arising from small linear blocking sets. We also look at the dual code of C(PG(n,q)) and we prove that finding the minimum weight of the dual code can be reduced to finding the minimum weight of the dual code of points and lines in PG(2,q). We present an improved upper bound on this minimum weight and we show that we can drop the divisibility condition on the weight of the codewords in Sachar’s lower bound (Geom Dedicata 8:407–415, 1979). We investigate the growth of the Nevanlinna characteristic of f(z+η) for a fixed ηC in this paper. In particular, we obtain a precise asymptotic relation between T(r,f(z+η)) and T(r,f), which is only true for finite order meromorphic functions. We have also obtained the proximity function and pointwise estimates of f(z+η)/f(z) which is a discrete version of the classical logarithmic derivative estimates of f(z). We apply these results to give new growth estimates of meromorphic solutions to higher order linear difference equations. This also allows us to solve an old problem of Whittaker (Interpolatory Function Theory, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 1935) concerning a first order difference equation. We show by giving a number of examples that all of our results are best possible in certain senses. Finally, we give a direct proof of a result in Ablowitz, Halburd and Herbst (Nonlinearity 13:889–905, 2000) concerning integrable difference equations. The classical Levy-Meixner polynomials are distinguished through the special forms of their generating functions. In fact, they are completely determined by 4 parameters: c1, c2,γ and β. In this paper, for-1 〈q〈 1, we obtain a unified explicit form of q-deformed Levy-Meixner polynomials and their generating functions in term of c1, c2, γand β, which is shown to be a reasonable interpolation between classical case (q=1) and fermionic case (q=-1).In particular, when q=0 it's also compatible with the free case.  相似文献

In this note, we show that the number of composite integers n ≤ x such that φ(n)|n - 1 is at most O(x^1/2(loglog x)^1/2), thus improving earlier results by Pomerance and by Shan.  相似文献

Let K be a compact subset in the complex plane and let A(K) be the uniform closure of the functions continuous on K and analytic on . Let μ be a positive finite measure with its support contained in K. For 1 ≤ q < ∞, let Aq(K, μ) denote the closure of A(K) in Lq(μ). The aim of this work is to study the structure of the space Aq(K, μ). We seek a necessary and sufficient condition on K so that a Thomson-type structure theorem for Aq(K, μ) can be established. Our theorem deduces J. Thomson’s structure theorem for Pq(μ), the closure of polynomials in Lq(μ), as the special case when K is a closed disk containing the support of μ.  相似文献

An f-coloring of a graph G is an edge-coloring of G such that each color appears at each vertex v V(G) at most f(v) times. The minimum number of colors needed to f-color G is called the f-chromatic index of G and is denoted by X′f(G). Any simple graph G has the f-chromatic index equal to △f(G) or △f(G) + 1, where △f(G) =max v V(G){[d(v)/f(v)]}. If X′f(G) = △f(G), then G is of f-class 1; otherwise G is of f-class 2. In this paper, a class of graphs of f-class 1 are obtained by a constructive proof. As a result, f-colorings of these graphs with △f(G) colors are given.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group. We define the prime graph Γ(G) as follows. The vertices of Γ(G) are the primes dividing the order of G and two distinct vertices p, q are joined by an edge if there is an element in G of order pq. Recently M. Hagie [5] determined finite groups G satisfying Γ(G) = Γ(S), where S is a sporadic simple group. Let p > 3 be a prime number. In this paper we determine finite groups G such that Γ(G) = Γ(PSL(2, p)). As a consequence of our results we prove that if p > 11 is a prime number and p ≢ 1 (mod 12), then PSL(2, p) is uniquely determined by its prime graph and so these groups are characterizable by their prime graph. Let S be a pomonoid and I a proper right ideal of S. In a previous paper, using the amalgamated coproduct A(I) of two copies of S S over I, we were able to solve one of the problems posed in S. Bulman-Fleming et al. (Commun. Algebra 34:1291–1317, 2006). In the present paper, we investigate further flatness properties of A(I). We also solve another problem stated in the paper cited above. Namely, we determine the condition under which Rees factor S-posets have property (P w ). Research supported by nwnu-kjcxgc-03-18.  相似文献

In this paper, we show, among other results, that if X is a [separable] locally compact space X [satisfying the first countability axiom] then the space Cc (X) has countable tightness [if and only if it has bounding tightness] if and only if it is Frechet-Urysohn, if and only if Cc (X) contains a dense (LM) subspace and if and only if X is a-compact.  相似文献

We consider some problems concerning the L p,q -cohomology of Riemannian manifolds. In the first part, we study the question of the normal solvability of the operator of exterior derivation on a surface of revolution M considered as an unbounded linear operator acting from Lpk (M) into Lk+1q (M). In the second part, we prove that the first L p,q-cohomology of the general Heisenberg group is nontrivial, provided that p < q. For 0 < p < 1, circle numbers π(p) are defined to reflect the Euclidean area-content property A p(r) = π(p)r 2 and circumference property {ie332-01} of the l 2,p -circle discs with p-generalized radius r, where the arc-length measure {ie332-02} is based upon the nonconvex star-shaped set {ie332-03} with p** > 0 satisfying {ie332-04}. The resulting π-function extends the function p → π(p) recently defined in [2] from the case of convex discs, p ⩾ 1, to the nonconvex case 0 < p < 1. This function is continuous, increasing, and takes values in (0, 2). The presented approach can be considered as reflecting a modified method of indivisibles in the sense that the indivisibles are the l 2,p -circles and that integrating their S(p**)-arc-lengths is equivalent to measuring the Euclidean area content.  相似文献

We point out that if the Hardy–Littlewood maximal operator is bounded on the space L p(t)(ℝ), 1 < ap(t) ≤ b < ∞, t ∈ ℝ, then the well-known characterization of the spaces L p (ℝ), 1 < p < ∞, by the Littlewood–Paley theory extends to the space L p(t)(ℝ). We show that, for n > 1 , the Littlewood–Paley operator is bounded on L p(t) (ℝ n ), 1 < ap(t) ≤ b < ∞, t ∈ ℝ n , if and only if p(t) = const. We use microlocal and paradifferential techniques to obtain L 8 norm bounds for spectral clusters associated with elliptic second-order operators on two-dimensional manifolds with boundary. The result leads to optimal L q bounds, in the range 2⩽q⩽∞, for L 2 - normalized spectral clusters on bounded domains in the plane and, more generally, for two-dimensional compact manifolds with boundary. We also establish new sharp L q estimates in higher dimensions for a range of exponents q̅nq⩽∞. In this paper, we introduce and study a new system of variational inclusions with (A, η, m)-accretive operators which contains variational inequalities, variational inclusions, systems of variational inequalities and systems of variational inclusions in the literature as special cases. By using the resolvent technique for the (A, η, m)-accretive operators, we prove the existence and uniqueness of solution and the convergence of a new multi-step iterative algorithm for this system of variational inclusions in real q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. The results in this paper unifies, extends and improves some known results in the literature.   相似文献
